Vague is concerned because he doesn't want his guild being deleted. I forget what other situation this has happened, but I proved him wrong then, too. But anyway, here we go: Kokoryta [Q] A few friends of mine and I have been discussing the Gaian legality of talking about BDSM and our experiences with it. While all rules point to "Cybering is against TOS" and "soliciting sex is against TOS", BDSM can be talked about in a nonsexual way, as well as talked about without soliciting. So by simply talking about our own expierences with BDSM and not expressly saying "You should do BDSM! It's great!" are there any TOS violations? Someone is concerned about getting his/her guild deleted should a conversation like this take place inside it. -Q Talking about it generally is fine, but not in detail. So there's your answer. Not everyone's mod of choice, but it works. I'll get a second opinion as soon as I find another online mod.

Well his thread in LI(when it was in ED) reached 200+ pages, and the second thread when LI turned into Sociology and psychology in ED reached the same, if not more. I can't remember if the second thread was actually is S&P or in the new LI, but I'd consider it famous. >.o
Plus, there's plenty of bondage guilds.

JoVo [Q] 2) I know that, but talking about BDSM cannot get the guild deleted. That's up for debate. I'm hoping that my side (the BDSM is harmless side) is winning, but there is some evidence to the contrary that still needs to be settled. Such discussions cannot be settled haphazardly when we are dealing with the future of the guild. No matter on what side of the fence you stand, you have to realize the other side has points that work, or they wouldn't hold to it. I should mention that I wasn't challenging you, just trying to make sure you see all pertinent information, since I'm trusting your judgement to set policy on this.

Twisty's a friend, hence the play wording in the beginning. Twistex [Q] Hey Twisty. Long time no chat. So I have an official question for you, now. Work, work, work. =p A few friends of mine and I have been discussing the Gaian legality of talking about BDSM and our experiences with it. Someone is concerned about getting his/her guild deleted should a conversation like this take place inside it. I already PMed koko, but she gave a vague answer and I'd like a second opinion. sweatdrop -Q Speaking about experiences in general is fine, and allowable. However, if you wander into "explicit" territory, you're bound to get in trouble. Basically, keep light on the details and you should be fine. I asked him to clearly define "Explicit" but he hasn't answered back yet.

I said his/her because I wanted the person in question to remain anonymous.
The last time I didn't try and make everything as anonymous as s**t, someone flamed my a** over.

Vague I should mention that I wasn't challenging you, just trying to make sure you see all pertinent information, since I'm trusting your judgement to set policy on this. Oh, I understand completely. That's why I agreed with you in that we should discuss it. Astri [Q The last time I didn't try and make everything as anonymous as s**t, someone flamed my a** over. I appreciated the extra consideration put into leaving Vague and the guild anonymous. *nod* Yeah, me too.

Astri TuffGhost Don't tell Jase or DK because they'll think I'm horrible if you do... but so do I. evil Um, isn't Jase a member of the Guild now? sweatdrop Yeah, but it'll take him at least a few more days to get around to posting and he'll probably just read the first few pages and the last few of any threads he posts in.

Twistex Q For clarification, what defines "explicit"? Other than vivid depictions of gentalia. -Q Vivid descriptions of anything, really. sexual acts, poitions.. It's not that hard to figure. I think you know you're going to tread into above pg-13 man. Just keep it toned down. So I suppose it's good enough to prove JoVo's and my point that it isn't against TOS, but we're back to square one with whether you want to allow discussing it at all in the guild. And thanks about the anonymous thing. Anyway, he probably thinks it's my guild, since I have a yaoi thread for Gaia admins/mods and he(character-wise) happens to be in it. xd

Vague Heh, I heard those dorms suck for that... Well, especially when it's 80 degrees with 50% humidity, yeah. It's fine now though. [Astri heart s her fans] It's much pleasanter out today.
