"Fine." Rosette said before taking a deep breath," It all started about a year and a half, two years ago. It was a little while after... my brother was kidnapped. And it was after we'd met Satella and Azmaria. We'd been traveling around for a bit... Mostly because I was looking for Joshua. We ran into many other people like us who'd been going after demons for various reasons. There was talk of joining together, but it was a plan that was never executed. Satella masterminded part of that. She's actually from an extremely wealthy family. We turned their old, abadoned house in the mountains into a base of sorts. It worked well. Since we had Chrono, do demons could mistaken sneak in, he could tell. We could shelter those capable, but untrained to fight demons, and were a home to those who openly hunted them. I don't remember where the name the Black Order came from. Possibly since a majority of the better demon-hunters chose to wear black and hunt at night. For a while, things were working fine. Since I was the one who brought the Order to live, persay, I was named leader of it. I turned fifteen shortly after. Then... something happened..."
Rosette stopped at this point. Still holding Chrono's hand, she squeezed it tightly.

The cover up was quick. The Imperial Church had already begun acting. The rumors of the Emperor's death were altered from a terrible thing into the rejoicing that the emperor had acceded to the heavens and now sat with the gods. The common folk, ,at least those who were religious, accepted this answer with eager readiness and even those who did not believe in the gods, well the Emperor had been alive for a thousand years, maybe he had accented they told themselves. The Imperial Church also said that the darkness that had cover the city was the evil trying to take over in the Emperor's departure but that the divine will of the gods had sent the evil away. this answer was not so readily accepted, since most people of the city had heard Algren's horn and believed him to the the reason the darkness had left.
Which is why when Algren and his Dragon Slayers marched through the mighty gates of the city, they marched into a wall of cheering faces, falling rose petals and shouts of praise to him. Soldiers lined the street forming a path through the city, leadin Algren and his men straight to the Imperial palace. But not everyone was glad Algren was back. In fact there were eleven individuals who where far less than pleased. The offspring of the Emperor watched from the Palace as Algren rode up, disgust on their faces. They knew the Emperor loved Algren above them, but they would all be damned if he would take the throne with their father gone.
Algren watched the world around him in a daze. They cheered for him, praised him, called him their redeemer. It made no sense. He had not done anything wonderful, infact to him the campaign against the Foresters was something not to be proud of. When they had entered the city and saw the masses, Gefton had throne Algren cloak over him to hid Algren's broken arms. Gefton rode beside Algren and smiled.
“Cheer up Algren. Your sister would be porud of this.”
“I've done nothing to desrve this.” Muttered Algren, hanging his head.
“The people seem to think otherwise.” Scoffed Gefton.
The dragon slayer marched on, until they passed through the doors to the palace and stood in the greatest and mightiest garden ever built by hand. There, up and massive flight of stairs, stood the entrance of the Imperial palace and the faces of Algren's welcoming comity. Gefton and several men aided Algren off his horse and the, the Draon Slayers in uniform fashion, began to march up the stairs.
After the climb, Algren was looking face to face with a wide assortment of people. He saw members of the Imperial Council, he saw The eleven Imperial spawn of the Emperor, he saw the heads of the Imperial church. He saw knights, soldiers, jesters, all sorts. But it was the figure that walked up from behind the Church leaders, dress in the white robes of the Templars that caused Algren to finally look alive. Algren's brother came up to him, and, unaware of Algren's arms hugged him violently. Algren grunted as his brother wrapped his arms around him and squeezed, his voice loud.
“Welcome home Algren! Enjoy the parade?” Algren felt as if he was being crushed and gasped for air. Gefton came up to Tobias' ear, whispered and Tobias' swiftly released his brother, a smile of apology on his face.
“A thousand pardons Algren. My bad.”
“I'm fine.” Said Algren through watering eyes. “Absolutly fine.” One of the Emperor's offspring spoke up now, his eyes narrow.
“Where's Blood?” Gefton hesitated for a moment and then, since Algren was try to catch his breath still, spoke.
“All will be told when we speak to the Emperor.” A sudden silence came over the gathering atop the stairs and Gefton and Algren both became uneasy.
“What's wrong?” Spoke Algren looking at his older brother. “Where's the Emperor? Why was there a parade for me? What is this?” Tobias' put his hand on his brother's shoulder but still no one spoke, all waiting for someone else to tell. ------------------- The black wolf sniffed the air and moved quickly. The prey was far off but it would catch up. The black would had found his prey's trail three days ago and now sped through the forest, moving at an impossible speed. This prey flew, but he must walk. the form of a bird the black wolf did not possesses. But he would catch up. He must catch up. His master was not forgiving. Von lowered his head and the wolf speed off, no paw print or broken twig to tell of his passing.

"We'd left the base for a while. I always did when I heard word of anything remotely related to my brother. I'd go back and visit the old orphanage too if the chance struck me, but nothing could be salvaged from there...
"We were lured out of there with false information, we were idiots. We survived as long as we did on pure luck. They were waiting for me to leave. They wanted to teach us a lesson. There was at least two hundred people there... All dead. Every last one of them... women... children...elderly. All of them had their hearts cut out, and her strung upside down with whatever was laying around. Ropes, chains, there were even some who were strung up with their own... guts.... They left a message on a wall, huge letters painted there with blood. 'You can never stop us, even with the Ignoble One.' We tried to bury a lot of them, at least the children, but we were afraid that they'd come back and finish us... After a few days, Chrono could sense demons coming there, so we had to leave before we could finish with the burials..."

Bane had wished he'd arrived in time to greet Algren before the question of the Emperor's death was brought to light, but, alas, he was preoccupied by other things at the time. He waited patiently behind the group of Church Leaders. His bodyguard Viede was a very tall and large man, and no doubtedly stood out among the Churchmen's finery. Bane himself was dressed simply yet elegantly. His tiny glasses sat jauntily on the end of his nose. He regretted leaving the battle with the Foresters so soon, he could have seen much more.

Blaise didn't look up at Rosette or Chrono but continued to stare at the ground wringing her fingers. This made Blaise worry. She didn't know any of the people who were killed but she felt for them. They were, in a way, like Foresters. They grouped for a special purpose that would, in the end, help the world in some way. Blaise didn't know whether Rosette would continue and she wasn't wuite sure she wanted her to. It probably hurt a lot for them to give her a recount.
"What . . . what are we going to do once we get there." she asked, not intentionally trying to change the subject. "Will we be safe there?"

"For a time, I believe so. It's an isolated area and it has some protect against other that would do us harm. For anything stronger, we have Chrono, he can sense and smell them coming." Rosette assured her.
"Satella proposed we go there... because there are weapons we can use. Especially for you, Kaden, Booker, and Loque. You really don't have anyway of fighting the demons, so we'll need to... salvage from there what we can." Chrono added,"You'd be helpless against a strong demon without them."

"Helpless? " Blaise laughed, cocking her eyebrow, "Heck, when Raizell had me I wasn't just helpless, I was hopeless. Sure I was tied up but even my elementals would do nothing. I was afraid the crazy spider psycho was going to eat my liver."
Blaise sighed and pushed her wet hair from her face then looked back up to Chrono and Rosette. "You guys okay? I mean, do you need to stay outside for a little longer, for whatever reason, or can we head in now?"

Chrono looked at Rosette, whom was now staring out at the forest with an almost vapid look in her eyes. She looked tired, and much older. Thoughts of the good times, and the faces of the dead haunted her. She looked like a vetran of war, not a girl who was son to turn seventeen...
"I think we'll stay out here for a while longer. Why don't you go back and inform the others." Chrono told her, ignoring her earlier outburst,"I'm sure they would be thankful to hear some good news as well."

Blaise nodded solemnly and went back to wringing her fingers. Her attempts at lightening the mood didn't work, but she couldn't have expected it to. It was a bit hard to cheer someone up when they'd just recounted a terrible story. Turning, Blaise looked up at the dark sky. She was about to run out into the rain to get back inside when and idea hit her.
"Hey, you guys don't mind if I try something, do you?" she asked, "I mean, I did something . . . strange on the battlefield. You wouldn't mind if I tried it again? I don't want to bother you. If you just want me to go then I will."
Blaise had never cared so much about being bothersome to someone or being in their way. The upcoming days were going to be tough and she didn't want to make them any harder.

"By all means, be my guest." Chrono said, looking at her peculiarly. He really had no clue what she was talking about, but it couldn't do any harm, could it?
Chrono sat back and watched Blaise carefuuly. Since Rosette had settled into an unusually pensive silence, he was content with sitting by her side. She was no doubt reflecting on their recent conversation.
"Chrono..." She said very quietly,"Do you think they'd forgive me... the Order...?"
"I know they would." He told her, wrapping and arm around her shoulders,"You gave them a home, hope, and a fighting chance. I don't believe they couldn't forgive you."

Blaise nodded and stepped out of the shelter of the tree and into the rain. She thought back to what had happened. She actually stopped a lightning bolt. She could feel it pooling in the sky and Rosette was in the way. How had she done it? Could it be another elemental? Anything that occurs naturally would be element, some things are just harder to master than others. Maybe lightning was an element in her controll.
Looking up to the sky and closing her eyes she could feel the electricity pooling in several different places but all were too far away. Maybe she could . . . consentrating on pulling the electricity somewhere near Blaise took a deep breath. It was working. Now all she had to do was call it down.
Blaise held her hand out and willed the bolt to come. She waited seconds, then there was a flash. The bolt stayed hovered above her hand, untouching to her, for several long seconds then she let it go. Her hand tingled and was stained a pink color.
"Ouch!" she murmured in a sort of excited whisper. Whipping around she looked to Chrono and Rosette wondering if they had seen it.

Even Rosette, who'd been draw into her own dismal memories, stopped to watch.
"What the hell was that...?"Rosette asked staring at Blaise,"WHat did you just do?"
"Was that lightening?" Chrono asked,"When did you learn to do that?!"
The sound of lightening drew the attention of some of the others inside.
"Zhe rain is getting vorse. You should come inside." Satella said, poking her head out,"Hurry or you all vill catch colds."

"Okay, we'll be in ina minute!" Blaise called then looked back to Crono and Rosette, "I-I don't know! I just . . . and then . . . and it . . . I did the same thing on the battlefield, but I didn't call it down I just stopped it. I could feel it, it was going to hit Rosette and I -- I stopped it. Except . . . ow," she shook out her hand as it began to go a little numb, "Last time it didn't hurt!"
Kaden was now at the door shouting to them, "Come on guys, the last thing we need is for someone to get struck by lighting or something."
Blaise looked to him increadulously but wasn't sure if she should say anything.

Rosette and Chrono couldn't help it. The timing was just too perfect. The two of them began to laugh. After such a somber tale, they could use a bit of humor.
"Oh... that was perefct timing..." Chrono said, shutting his eye. Rosette was laughing even harder, and with good reason. She REALLY needed to laugh, and even now she had a stitch in her side.
"Ah.... Maybe he's right Blaise! Maybe you should give it a rest for right now."

Blaise smiled a bit, glad to see Rosette back in somewhat happy spirits. She continued shaking her hand and massaged it a bit.
"Psh, I'm not doing that again unless I have to! Why'd it hurt now and not then?" she asked, questioning herself more than them. "Holy mother of . . . I feel like I just . . . well I think I just electrocuted my hand."
"You did what?" Kaden called over the rain.
"Nothing, nothing! I'm coming." She looked back to Rosette and Chrono, "We should get inside now."

"We're coming! We're coming!" Rosette said, leading Chrono by the hand as they ran back into the house.
"I must say, you three are in better spirits zhan ve expected. Zhe two of you are running around more like zhe happy lovers you should be!" Satella joked.
"Quiet you." Rosette replied against her teasing.
"I think it's cute! You two never held hands so much before..."Azmaria added.
