CH. 158 scans are out and translated.

HOLY GOODNESS.
I cried, guys. Not gonna lie. I really did.

I don't think this one needs explanation...
But I have to say something.
The fact that Kurogane looked angry is scaring and bothering me, a lot.

But Fai (should I call him Yuui now?) hugging little Fay chan was so heartbreaking.

ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
seriously..
i didn't cry. but gods..
it affected me
A LOT

yea... i really hope that look on kuro's face is directed at ASHURA and not our fay... (i wont call him yuui until the manga officialy does.. and not just ashura in a comment)

okay..
sooo

god. i cant imagine how i'll survive until next week..

First off, I was unable to cry during these chapter because I kept being distracted by Ashura-ou's femininity. ;o;

Secondly, unless Fai openly says that he wants to be Yuui from now on, he's gonna stay Fai. A similiar scenario happened in Clover, where a character was first introduced as Ran. Later, though, it was discovered that his birth name was C, but once he obtained a new name, the name he was first introduced with, that's the one he kept for the rest of the series. Chances are, the same will happen with Fai (there have already been some parrallels between Fai and Ran already, actually, since Fai had a twin, Ran was a triplet, and both were in situations were they had to be locked away from the rest of the world.)

Lastly, I think people need to chill out over the Kurogane thing. I highly doubt he's mad at one particular person, chances are, he's mad at all of them, and the overall situation. He's mad at Fei Wong Reid for doing all of this to Fai, to all of them. He's mad at Ashura-ou for putting Fai through this and showing Fai's past to everyone, disregarding Fai's privacy, something we know Kurogane takes seriously. He's mad at Fai for keeping all of this to himself for so long. He's mad at Fay-chan for being there right now. He's mad at the King of Valeria, the people of Valeria, the situation they put Yuui and Fay-chan into, and the situation they are all in now. It's natural for him to be angry. Hell, if I was in his position, I'd be furious. He has every reason to be angry. I don't think he's going to blame Fai for all of this, it's not in his nature, but it's to be expected that all of this would make him angry. This isn't a ship sinker, or something that should worry people. Really, what did you all expect? :/

Also, guys? Hate to be the bearer of bad news but uh... next week is a break. No new chapter. ;o;

O_o no chappie next week? gonk

OMG... it seems Fai ...is working for FWR? Or so it seems gonk Or more like his puppet. Well, my friends, but at least we know now about Fai's past... now the only thing left is what is the other curse. The other thing left unexplained is why Fai put Ashura to sleep... Well, it can't be much until we're told that.

I didn't cry either, but that's because I'm practically incapable to cry with anime or manga. I've only cried with a videogame, and that was recent... O_o so I'm still not that softened yet by mangas or animes. But I do feel bad for Fai...

I probably can't feel that bad because I already feel bad for Yagami Light... Death Note finished yesterday... excuse me crying

NEXT WEEK IS A BREAK?
gonk

Ahhh man.
That's no fun.
I'll have to spend my Wednesday in the KuroxFai discussion board. xD

And I know what you're saying about the Kurogane thing, Alice-san. I think I was just too 'UWAHH' lastnight. Haha. It was too late/early when I read the chapter.

I really don't think that's what it meant, at least that's not at all how it came across to me...then again i could be wrong... i'm wrong alot... stare
because he said "together with the princess of the desert, and the clone i've prepared, be my chess piece." and if what it was saying was that fai was working for FWR, then that would mean sakura was too, 'cause it said together with....and i just don't see her working for him. plus he said chess piece, so it's more like he's using him. i think it was meant more like when you leave on this journey is when i'll start inadvertantly (did i spell that right?...i hope it's a word and i'm not just going crazy...) using you.

well...at least that's how i read it. sweatdrop

crying poor fai! this is a bad time for a break...of coarse, it's always a bad time for a break...but i want to know what happens!

You know, it occured to me after reading the latest chapter that Kurogane might look really murderous because of Fei Wong Reid himself.
In previous chapters we pretty recently learned about Kurogane's past when Syaoran sees it. Syaoran expresses that the symbol on the man who killed Kurogane's mother is the same symbol of the people who were attacking Clow.
And when Ashura-ou shows them Fai's past, he shows them FWR as well, symbol on his shirt and manipulative persona, and this is the first time they're actually seeing his face.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if a lot of the reason Kurogane looks so pissed off is because he's seeing FWR for the first time. I would be.

Also, I'm a little confused about the dialogue in the scanlations I saw.
We know that Fei Wong Reid asked Fai up in the tower who he wanted to save, and he said Yuui.
And we know that Fei Wong Reid asked Yuui at the bottom of the tower who he wanted to save, and he apparently chose himself.
Now my question is, where in the dialogue does he choose himself?
Because the way it's constructed on mine is:

Quote:
Fei Wong Reid : Only one person can leave here. Choose. Is it you, or the other one?
Yuui : Fai..
Fei Wong Reid : You choose, and this is the consequence. This is the life you choose to erase, and this is the consequence. This is a curse.
Yuui (presumedly) : FAI!!!

Yuui didn't take Fai's name until after his brother was killed. Was it just a faulty translation?
I assumed that because they both chose eachother, and one one of them could leave, FWR misconstrued what Yuui meant to say and assumed he meant that he wanted Fai to be the one to die. Hense the "This is the life you choose to erase."
Or did Yuui really mean it that way? I can't imagine he did, with the way the question was given to him: "Only one person can leave here. Choose. Is it you, or the other one?"
My initial reaction was "b*****d! HE DIDN'T MEAN IT THAT WAY."
But everyone is saying that this was Yuui's intention. He "selfishly chose himself". When the hell did that happen?

You may be right, but I think you may have misread it.

I thought Yuui said, "Fai..." after the boy had already fallen from the tower. Thus he says, "You chose. Now you must bear the consequeces." That's how I percieved it, but I could be wrong. crying I really don't want our Fai to be guilty of such a thing. I'm absolutely positive, though, he didn't mean for his brother to die.

I personally think that "Yuui" wanted to get out, then come back and save his brother, not get the other killed. 3nodding Of course I know I'm wrong, but it's fun to think that he was being selfless, ya know?

Wow, guys.

I never even thought of that until you guys mentioned it.

That's so sad. Because I can see it not being a mistranslation. When I re-read it, it was kind of confusing.

I don't know what to think about that one.

Uh, guys? Keep in mind that Yuui/ourFai is A.) traumatized, over and over and over, B.) a young child, C.) batshit crazy, and D.) human. He did selfishly chose to kill his brother because he wanted to live. Terrible thing to do? Yes. But under the circumstances, it's perfectly understandable. Fai was traumatized, having been seperated from his brother, being told terrible things from everyone around him his entire life, having dead bodies raining down on him for years. All he knew was that he wanted to get out, and he'd do anything to achieve that. It wasn't until he saw his brother's body that he realized, "Oh snap, I just keeled j00. ...SELFLOATHINGHATREDDAMNATIONI'MAFAILUREATLIFEETC." Again, horrible. But it's perfectly understandable, expected, and it reinforces that Fai is only human, and humans make mistakes. What Fai needs to learn now is that you cannot erase those mistakes, only learn from them and move on.

I understand that, I really really do. ^^ I wasn't trying to propose some loophole to get around Fai's momentary personality no-no. I was just posing my confusion about the way the page was translated. What I meant was, if he did selfishly choose himself over his brother, where did it happen? Is the translation I recieved just poorly worded? I'm asking because the entire scene confused me. I had no idea what was going on until I read the oppinions about it on here.
Because like I said, it looked to me like he didn't even make the decision at all.

Both were asked the same question at the same time, and both made the choice for Yuui to live and for Fai to die. So yes, Fai selfishly chose himself over his brother. This isn't shown, we see Fay-chan making the choice for Yuui to be let go, but Ashura-ou explains later that both were given the choice and Yuui chose to kill Fay-chan. I didn't read the scanlations, just an early translation when the RAWs were first released, but that's what happened. ^^"

ah! that's where i got confused! i knew both were given a choice, and fai chose yuui, but then i never saw yuui answer. i didn't mean he wasn't capable of choosing himself, i actually don't think i doubted that he did, i just couldn't figure out where he'd done that ! sweatdrop thank you for the clarification! ^_^
