Everything started to collapse. For a moment, Horace felt like he should be Chicken Little, screaming about the sky falling. Oliver tugged on his sleeve and he snapped out of it.
Just in time to avoid a particularly vicious potted tree as it crashed in front of him.

"Oliver!" he called out, sprinting through the portal after his friend. Briefly, he mourned the sweater vest he would never see again. It lay, crumpled and disgusting, in the wreckage.

The beast fell in a thrashing, floundering mess, and it was all Lukas could do to keep his own footing and keep from being crushed by falling rubble. As he came up, all he could see was smoke, and he coughed, climbing over something and trying to get his bearings. "...Gretchen? Cain?" It was coughing, awkward. Uncertain. He couldn't see which way the portals were, just yet.

Melvin did not want to die here or be left behind. As the call went out, he looked about and wondered - why was he looking at all? There was no one here that needed him.
He turned and headed forward.

Falling chunks of the ceiling had caused Gretchen to jerk back from the flailing beast and her two allies. For a few chaotic moments she couldn't see them, couldn't see anything, then the dust began to settle and she could hear Lukas calling their names from somewhere to her left. "I'm alright! Heading your way." Harder done than said.

Dust everywhere. Chunks of concrete falling, the monster was failing and through all the noise he could see shadows rushing around him as he choked on the dust. A hand went up out of instinct to protect his head as he moved, barely hearing the call of his previous teammates to which he veered in the direction of then yelled, "get out of here! We can meet up later!" Now wasn't the time for regrouping, now was get out or be left behind and he wasn't about to be left behind.
After the yell he started to cautiously find the way out.

It was finally over. Nellie had somehow managed to survive her second mission and was infinitely glad for that as well as the new friend she made in Isaac. She looked around for a bit, trying to locate the Sun hunter but was unsuccessful. When the order came for all to retreat, she followed suit as well, figuring that she would probably have better luck finding him on the other side of the portal compared to doing it under the poor lighting condition and the water that was still raining down on them courtesy of the activated overhead sprinklers.
If all else fails, she could probably count on running into him at some point back at Deus.
pinchmonster Follow Nellie to the light portal? ^^

It was a cruel scene, her heart ached for the fall of the giant beast and the last plaintive painful howls. The girl who was previously squabbled with her weapon had her attention drew back to the beast, she knew it finally ended. Soon, the ground crumbled with the collapse of the creature, the stones unable to hold the bulk weight of it and cracked up, everything sank.
<Run, silly. Like a bunny.>
The hammer disappeared in her hand as she started to hop between the fallen rocks, dodging the flaming obstacles as she headed towards the glowing portal. It wasn't a big hunter mission without structure toppled and massive destruction. The creaking noise and the high temperature resembled what can be called Hell make her anxious. Yet, the petite Death was clumsy, but it didn't mean she wasn't agile.
She even got a shortcut and jumped to another side of the portal. she knew she was finally home. Even exhausted, they were asked to thoroughly cleanse themselves and went through a check. "Thank you," said Shu with sincere gratitude and then headed back to her little dark basement room.
It wasn't the most comfortable but she really needed a nap.

Lukas heard Gretchen, faintly, but with the fog and the buzzing in the back of his years, he wasn't quite sure which direction her voice had come from. His vision, though, was finally clear, and in the distance he saw the portal out. "It's this way," he offered, but he didn't wait for her. Instead he scrambled over the mess, assuming she was hot on his heels. Or at least pretending to assume that.

Ace yawned at the ice rank, there seemed to be important events ongoing. He looked up at the ceiling with nervous voice asking them to retreat. Sooner, the ground started to crumble and dusts felling off the ceiling. The tall man had Catherine summoned on hand in case there might be large objects falling down or random thrashing monster tail, and he ran towards where the portal located.
"WooOOoooow." He exclaimed, seeing what happened to the camp lastly. A giant dying beast wanted some companions in its lonely death had turned the whole place into a burning flame. The Sun trainee didn't want his beautiful hair to get singed noped his way out swiftly.
"Adventure time ends." He smirked, took a final glance at the heritage that couldn't be told was a mall before he hopped inside the portal and back to Deus. <Not bad for a newbie.> "I wanted to say I've more fun than I expected, despite of the pains and injuries." <I'm proud of you.> The man de-summoned the scythe, laid his arms over his heads on his way back to his room.
"A warm shower first, then some spice stuff." <Sounds like a plan.> "It does."

And suddenly she was on her own, but only for a handful of moments. Lukas' voice was loud and clear and she locked onto that, scrambling through debris and over rubble as quickly as possible until she spotted the portal both boys had fled through. It was with a flood of relief that she threw herself through as well, but that relief was rather short lived when she got a good look at where they had come out at, and what was now in store for them.
