Orpheus It seemed Orpheus continued to underestimate this woman. She never expected this amount of power to be hidden within her--nor did any others, most likely. It certainly seemed they both had similar secrets...
She grunted as Carmen was successful in vaulting her over her, and she had little time to react before Carmen was right back on the offensive. Still, it was brazen of her to attack in such close quarters--and Orpheus's finely honed instincts allowed her to move her head back, narrowly avoiding the incoming roundhouse kick. When she dashed in to punch her in the gut, dodging her first attack gave her more than enough reaction time to catch her incoming fist. Though Carmen's physical strength was far greater than she would have ever believed, it still didn't match up to Orpheus's own, and she used this to her advantage as she pulled her in, forcing her to turn around and locking her arms around Carmen's own, wrenching her as she lifted her feet off the ground to make it harder for her to escape. The strength and severe height advantage Orpheus had over her would make this very difficult for Carmen to overcome... (Miss! Orpheus attacks with advantage! If the result is 10, Carmen must skip her next turn and Orpheus attacks with advantage again. If the result is `1, Carmen attacks with advantage.) (( OOC: ))

Carmen "Ah?!" Carmen was now realizing just how reckless it was to continue her attacks after missing her roundhouse, as she was soon led helplessly into Orpheus's armlock, "...Ah... Aaah...!" She let out, feeling totally at the taller woman's mercy as she was helplessly hoisted off her feet. She could feel Orpheus's torso... pressing into her back... and gods, was it distracting. It was so distracting, she was helplessly wrenched for several seconds before she remembered... she had magic! A ball of holy fire gathered in one of her bound hands, and she squeezed it, igniting the ball and causing a small explosion in Orpheus's face! The explosion was laced with dizzying spores, which would make it harder for Orpheus to focus. (Impose disadvantage on Orpheus's next roll!)
Dropping down to her feet, she turned ferociously, and as she swung her fists, in the moments leading to the impact, colossal magic energy gathered on her fists, and the flurry of punches sent out visible shockwaves with every single strike. It made for a rather dazzling spectacle, between the visible magic gathering on her arms in the moments before each impact and the shockwaves that followed. She swung over and over in rapid succession, intending to take advantage of her dizzied state for however long it lasted--finishing with a powerful uppercut to her chin! (Roll with advantage! 10=Orpheus's next action is skipped, 1=Orpheus overcomes her dizziness instantly and attacks with extreme advantage!) (( OOC: ))

OrpheusThe explosion that freed Carmen brought along with it an intense dizziness. She supposed she should've expected that from what seemed to be a master of magic, but what she didn't expect was that she was seeing doubles. It was hard to discern from where Carmen's attacks were coming, because she saw two Carmens, and it seemed like they both connected punches at different times! More magical manipulation by Carmen, she would wager. Her body went momentarily limp from the combination of the dizziness and the insanely powerful punches, and at that moment she was met with an uppercut, which completely toppled the incredibly tall woman. Lifted off the ground by the force of the uppercut, she slammed down into the sand, letting out a dazed grunt.She let out another as Carmen's shoe was planted on her chest, with barely any force behind it. Putting a hand to her hip, Carmen smirked. "Fall in love yet?" She asked mockingly, winking and blowing a kiss down to her."...Enough of this!" Carmen quickly hopped backwards, narrowly avoiding a devastating slice from her sword, which had finally been unsheathed! The slice continued moving past the blade, cleaving a nearby tree in half like a hot knife through butter. Gripping her long katana with both hands, she dashed forward, and though still dizzied, she aimed a slice into Carmen's midsection! (The fight has become serious--all rolls will be d20s from here on! Attack with disadvantage! 20=Carmen must skip her turn, 1-3=Carmen attacks with extreme advantage!)(( OOC: ))

CarmenGlancing at the tree that was carved, Carmen felt a little bad, but she needed to keep her focus on her opponent--who charged her seriously! Her dizziness at least allowed Carmen to gather magic around her torso defensively, mitigating much of the damage--but it was still a powerful strike! The collision of their two powers sent out a massive shockwave, and created a rather large crater in the ground beneath them! "...Uh, I'll fix that!" She assured all the onlookers. Any damage done could be undone with her magical power over reality, and that was good, because it seemed this was only the beginning! "Getting serious? Two can play at that game!" The magic gathered around her torso flared forward, enveloping Orpheus's blade arm and holding it still. The magic spread across her body, binding her appendages in magical binds. Stepping forward, she planted an open palm against her foe's abdomen, slapping it there and binding her hand there in a magical seal, which began to rapidly drain Orpheus's energy into Carmen! (Energy drain--if the result is 1-5, the attack misses, and Orpheus gains advantage on her next roll. If the result is 6 or greater, Carmen heals half of the damage. If the result is 15-20, Orpheus becomes too exhausted to escape her binds, and Carmen attacks next with MAJOR advantage! If the result is 20, Carmen attacks next with MAJOR advantage and scores a critical hit (if the following result isn't 1.))(( OOC: ))

Orpheus(1: Critical fail! Roll with advantage!) Though Orpheus wasn't nearly as powerful with magic, she did know how to channel it, and when the magical binds began to envelop her, she quickly did what she could to channel it back towards Carmen. And Carmen felt a little too confident in the use of her magic, so she didn't have enough time to counterspell before her magical binds... bound her! The humiliation this inflicted on her was certainly not lost on Orpheus, who, despite being serious, couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle."Stop laughing!!""They're yours, so you control them... but they're listening to me. That means you obey me, doesn't it?" She leaned towards her. "On your knees." And no matter how Carmen's mind resisted, once she heard the order, her magic immediately obeyed, putting her down on her knees in front of Orpheus. Orpheus lifted her foot, using it to push Carmen's chin up to look her in the eyes--before she delivered a harsh kick to her face! As Carmen was knocked backwards, Orpheus stepped forward, planting her foot harshly down onto her gut. Putting her hand to her hip, she looked down at her once again. "Submit. Now."(( OOC: ))

CarmenCarmen had actually never in her life experienced something this humiliating. Every order Orpheus gave immediately caused her magic to start forcing herself to obey. Her spells had never even been countered before, and certainly never had they been turned back on her! The biggest failure of her entire life so far. Hopefully she never topped it! She was knocked back helplessly, and let out a sharp gasp as she felt the familiar feeling of her foot pressed against her chest. Ah... was this really the end? ...No! She had to prove she was greater! She had to... and she certainly wasn't going to be Alisa's b***h for six months!
Focusing her overflowing magic, she attacked her own binds with it and overpowered them, shattering them. Immediately, she threw out her arm, sending a magical tether up to attach to Orpheus and carry her into the air. Clencing her hand, a done of magical energy surrounded Orpheus. Flicking her fingers, magical energy surged from one side of the dome, slamming into Orpheus and sending her towards the other side of the dome. And with a flick of her wrist, the same thing happened again, and again, and again--as she constantly erupted geysers of magic around her to throw her all across the dome and deal constant damage! At the end of it, she clenched her fist fully, the dome enclosing around Orpheus before she flung her arm down, and it sped down towards the ground, slamming her down with an explosion of magic! (A powerful attack! Roll with advantage, and add +7 to the result. If the result is 1, Orpheus attacks with advantage. If the result is 17-20, Orpheus must skip her next turn, and Carmen rolls with advantage. If the result is 20, Orpheus must skip her turn and Carmen rolls with MAJOR advantage!)(( OOC: ))

OrpheusOrpheus should have expected her to break free, but what she couldn't have expected was what came next--in basically an instant she was whisked away into the air, and it was her turn to become the helpless one, as she was shot across the magical dome over and over at incredible speeds. It was hard to tell which direction was up, much less try anything to escape it! So the Exemplar was helpless until at last she was planted onto the ground along with another explosion of magical energy! Carmen's power was no joke... it was so easy to underestimate her by her appearance, but that she was going nearly even with an Exemplar was unprecedented. It was so absurd, no one who didn't witness it would ever believe it! Picking herself up, she let out a short grimace. She felt... dizzy.
With the world somewhat spinning around her, she located her target, looking smug as ever. ...At least, she thought so. Kinda hard to see the details on her face, after that wild ride she was just thrown into. She readied her blade, swinging it in a spinning motion and whipping up a small tornado and sending it towards Carmen! This seemed to only detriment her aim further, though... (Roll with disadvantage! If the result is 1-5, the attack misses. If the result is over 10, however, impose disadvantage on Carmen's next roll.)(( OOC: ))

CarmenCarmen had narrowed eyes and a readied stance as she prepared for Orpheus's next attack, but when she saw how dizzy she was, her face did indeed relax into a smug expression, and her stance relaxed as she crossed her arms under her chest. As she began to use her attack, Carmen's smirk only widened, and her hands moved behind her, as she began skipping towards her playfully, tauntingly. She sidestepped the incoming tornado which was already going wide, and Orpheus raised her sword, preparing.
"Looking for me~?" Carmen's voice whispered into her ear on the opposite side. Orpheus reacted swiftly, swinging her blade through her torso--and it fazed through, as the apparent mirage sparkled out of form with a magical flourish.
"Oh, wrong one..." The same voice from her other side. Orpheus clenched her throat, but her hand only grabbed air, as that Carmen vanished just the same.
"But then, which is the real one?" This one appeared right in front of her, forming swiftly from the magical holy fire. Before Orpheus could strike her, both her arms were grabbed each by two arms, and held behind her back. A giggling followed as both the Carmens held her ams bound against her struggling.
"Is it me?" The same voice preceded the arrival of another, on her left.
"No no, it's me!" And another on her right.
"Maybe it's me...~" One of the two holding her arms still whispered into her ear, in almost a seductive tone.
"Or maybe..." The one in front of her spoke again, pressing the tip of her index finger into Orpheus's torso. What followed were several more indexes being pressed against her torso, and the one in front of her's devious smile turned into a full-blown sadistic smirk. "...We're ALL Carmen." And just like that, incredibly potent magical electricity erupted from every single index finger pressed against her, sending an absurd amount of paralyzing, painful, and stimulating electricty across her entire body amplified at least five times over by every finger pressed against her skin!
Orpheus let out a deep sigh after the attack ended, unintentionally dropping her blade to the ground. The Carmen in front of her winked, then pressed the index against her just a little harder--and like a cut tree, Orpheus fell, absolutely crumbling into the sand below.
As the other Carmens giggled and vanished, returning to holy fire which encircled the Carmen in front of her, her smug smile only grew, as she tossed her hair as she strode right up to Orpheus's broken form, lifting her foot, and as she brought it down with authority, magic gathered along her leg and sent a potent magical shockwave across her entire body, riddling her body with even further insanely powerful magic! Keeping her shoe pressed against her chest, one of her hands went to her hip, while the other leaned against her knee as it was propped upon Orpheus's chest. "Do you understand now?" She began, her voice just coated in smugness. "How fruitless it is to battle me? Not to battle an Exemplar... to battle me." She threw her own words right back at her, from when this position was reversed right before Carmen transformed! (Orpheus's dizzied state combined with Carmen's creative trickery, the help of her clones, and her absolute cockiness allows Carmen to roll with MAJOR advantage! Roll 3 die, use the highest value, and add +5 to the result. If all three roll 1, Orpheus gains MAJOR advantage on her next roll.)(( OOC: ))

CarmenOrpheus had... severely underestimated the woman above her. She had to do something. She had to mount some kind of counterattack. ...And yet... laying here beneath her heel, her body refused to go on anymore. And that was most obvious when her hair and eye color slowly began to dissolve back to their normal color, and the distorted color aura radiating around her began to subside. And once her form had entirely reverted, she let out a defeated sigh as her body finally, fully relaxed into submission, panting from the exhaustion overtaking her form. "[b[...I... know when I am beaten. I submit myself to your power, Carmen of the Forest Kingdom...""Mm, what was that? Can you say it again, a little louder?"""I can recognize my betters... and until today, I believed I no longer had any. You've taught me a lesson I won't soon forget. I can recognize my betters... and she's standing over me now.""Who's the strongest one on the beach?""You are.]""Who's the baddest b***h there is?""You are.""Who gave you the hardest absolute spanking of your life?""You did.""...Heheh, that's right... Good girl." She lifted her foot, holding it above her face. "...Now prove it. I don't have to dominate your body with my Power Word anymore, now do I?""No, you don't.""Do it."Orpheus forced her exhausted body up slightly, just enough so her lips could reach the bottom of her feet... to willingly kiss it. The ultimate show of submission. After, she collapsed back to her back with a sigh.It was practically impossible to take the smug out of Carmen right now. It would probably stay there for the rest of her life. And for good reason, clearly!! "...That's ******** right... you know your place now, don't you?""Yes."Planting her heel upon her chest once again and eliciting a small grunt of defeat from her fallen foe, Carmen put her fists to her hips. "Say it.""Beneath you.""Mm... Call me master.""Master Carmen.""Hah..." Oh, that sent even more of a rush through her than when Alisa said it. The hottest woman who may have ever existed who was also insanely powerful and over a foot taller than her was whipped beneath her. "I appreciate your obedience, my pet Exemplar...""I would've expected the same of you if you were defeated. It's only fair I do as I would expect." She and Ephraim were rather alike in that regard, not exactly being salty over a defeat. "I would've made you kiss my feet too.""Heheh, of course..." She finally glanced around, realizing that... the entire area around them looked like a warzone had passed through. Oops. "Maybe we should've held back a little more..." She muttered, not that their onlookers seemed to mind the destruction. Keeping a foot planted upon her conquered foe, she began to raise her arm with a flourish of her wrist, and the holy flames around her began to encircle her with increasing speed, before shooting out in all directions and dispersing. The invisible magic's purpose quickly became clear, as the land began to reshape itself--the craters they made raising into solid ground once more as though nothing had happened, uprooted trees lifting to replant themselves in place, and sliced down trees lifting to mend back together in place. In under 15 seconds, the entire area looked even better than it had before they began battling, leaving no scars upon the land of this beautiful island.
...Such amazing magic, such incredible strength, such expert martial prowess, the ability to bend reality to her desire, and most of all, a defeated, panting Exemplar beneath her heel. Was there anyone in the world as impressive as Carmen? To those who witnessed this entire spectacle as well as the swift magical repair job, it may not seem so at this moment!(( OOC: ))

     Athena wasn't typically one to so openly fangirl over someone, but surprises were clearly happening today. How was it she knew Carmen her whole life, yet, somehow didn't know her? At first, she was actually very nervous about this duel even taking place, it took a great amount of self control not to try and stop it herself! It didn't help that they were both so eager to jump into that duel before much could be said.
And now, it seemed she found herself a bit TO happy she didn't stop it. It wasn't just a shock to her, but to Unisha as well, but above all, the one person anyone would think knew all of Carmen's little secrets, her own sister! Her reaction was quite priceless, her mouth practically hung open in the amount of surprise that hit her. How was her sister so cool?! Miya already idolized her older sister, and now she had more reason to believe she was in fact the coolest person to exist! Athena could certainly agree with that too! But in a much different way, there were a LOT of emotions flowing through the forest princess, and a lot of that was pure excitement and ..other things she didn't know existed to her innocent heart and mind! She was attractive in her normal form, as she thought it was, but this form really got her heart fluttering, and a newer view to form. She was unbelievably hot! Athena's face began to turn a shade of deep red as she watched the battle unfold, anyone could see her focus was not at all on the great Exemplar, but Carmen all the way!
Unisha wasn't to far off from Athena's reaction, despite how things weren't looking to good for Orpheus, still, her own special form was incredibly hot to her too! One might confuse her for some kind of Reaper with the dark vibes it gave off. It was certainly..Very unique and mysterious!
These two were so absorbed in their incredibly impressive interests, no one seemed to remember Alisa was still bound to a tree. "Carmen's so amazing! " She finally said out loud, her hands clasped in front of her chest as she continued to just idolize the heck out of her like never before! No one had ever earned Athena's attention in such a way, she should feel very proud of herself! "Like a Goddess, he,he.." She now REALLY believed she had something to do with that title, but even if she didn't, well, that just made her all the more incredible, didn't it?! "And that form...oh,gosh.." The more she spoke, the more it was clear she was slipping a little to far into a dreamy-like state. She didn't even need to say the word hot, it was so very clear those thoughts were right there in her head, and Carmen would have no trouble hearing them! "..Orpheus is just as amazing! " Unisha may not get to see her win this battle, but it didn't change a thing of how she felt about her, if anything, it just increased them thanks to the show she displayed, Anyone would still be ridiculously stupid to challenge her, and she firmly believed that she would win against anyone else. Carmen was clearly much more mysterious then she let people know, as shown today. But she couldn't find it in herself to be impressed with her despite her incredible power and strength! However, she did seem to find her ability to mend the area of destruction as if it had never happened in the first place! Now that was a power she didn't think Orpheus would have.Even she herself couldn't mend the destroyed tree's and land, despite her incredibly strong connection with nature.
After everything was completely restored, and she knew their little duel had come to it's end, Unisha was the first to rush over to the defeated Exemplar laying there in the sand. She wasn't TO fond of the way Carmen treated her, given Unisha was never a fan of humiliation, did it really have to end with submission and master-hood?! Trying to let that all slide, she lowered to her knees in the sand, placing the palm of her hand over Orpheus's arm, and sending a healing wave of energy through her. While her free hand faced Carmen briefly, emitting a sudden surge of golden light energy that shot out directly at her! ....In a holy shock. It wouldn't hurt her, but it would get the message through while healing any injuries she sustained during their little dueling, that she was not sharing Athena's giddiness and dreamy state, her eyes may as well of been little hearts! Athena clearly was having a hard time breaking out of it, too. The battle between the two was clearly over for several minutes, but Athena was still so lost in, well, Carmen-world and how incredible she was, and how hot she was, it was hard to think of anything else! She was by all means nothing like her sister, but some things couldn't be avoided, could they?
"....Helllloooo? " Miya waved a hand in front of Athena's face, as if trying to break her trance-like state. She had her own many questions, but she was also nice enough to let Athena go to her first, that was if she could break her out of her love-struck trance! "I mean...I was completely surprised too, but wow, did your eyes turn into hearts? A-T-H-E-N-A?! " She snickered in amusement. "I think she's broken.." An idea came to her over-active mind, causing her to grin at the thought. "Carmennnnnnnn! You're way to cool, you know that!? You also have some explaining to do, but first....Come here. I think you broke the princess with your amazingness. I think the only way to fix it is a kiss! Kiss her!!! "

CarmenCarmen could hear other people's thoughts without even trying oftentimes, especially in this form--it was something she had some trouble controlling when she was younger. One of the reasons she originally thought to suppress that power. But it was definitely a blessing, as she could hear Athena's thoughts, and they only made her feel more confident! She glanced at Athena, a knowing smile on her face, as she gave her a small wink. She would have a little fun with that in a few moments...
She still had her eyes on Athena as Unisha sent out her little holy shock, but Unisha might be disappointed when she saw the holy fire encircling her automatically move to shield Carmen and dissipate the magic. Indeed, as if she wasn't strong enough in this form, that magic which took the shape of holy fire around her automatically shielded her from magic! It wouldn't completely stop very high power spells on its own, but it could greatly mitigate their damage. Carmen glanced at Unisha, giving her a taunting wink. "Sorry, princess. Your girlfriend lost fair and square." She stepped off Orpheus at last, turning with an oh so cool toss of her hair. "I wouldn't blame you if you found me hotter now, heh." She wasn't even making a pun, but with that appearance and using that word, she and Phoenix may become friends. Or incredibly bitter rivals. Definitely one of the two.
And so began her stride directly towards her apparent newly gained fan. She walked slowly and intentionally, trying to look as cool and attractive as possible as she did--her stride was powerful, her hair was flowing in the wind, and her magic radiated slowly around her as ever. And then she tripped. "Wagh?!" And then she went facefirst into the sand. Well, there went all her cool girl points... Maybe she just should've walked normally?
Quickly getting back to her feet, she brushed the sand off her face, quietly reassuring herself. "It's okay Carmen, you're still cool, she still thinks you're cool...!" She whispered to herself, before clearing her throat and continuing!
Once she got close to Athena, she reached out, gently taking her hand into her own... and then pulling Athena close to her in a moment, as expertly as a graceful dancer. "Do you know how I knew I would win, Athena?" She asked, pulling her closer as Carmen's slightly smug smile grew. "Because..." And suddenly, Athena would feel herself dipped, Carmen's face coming closer. "...You were watching me. It was all for you." She whispered with a surprising charm to her voice for a girl with such awful social skills! And then it came, the fiery archmage's lips making soft contact with the young princess's. Carmen slightly lifted one of Athena's legs up as she kissed the dipped lady, making for a rather picturesque, almost beautiful kissing scene against the gorgeous sunset as the backdrop that looked like it belonged in a professional movie! She certainly had an eye for theatrics and aesthetics at the very least, or so it seemed.(( OOC: ))

Unisha blinked in surprise, it wasn't often her Holy Shocks were so easily dissipated! "Did you really just shield yourself from my healing magic? I feel a little insulted.." She was pretty prideful with her healing magic! Did Carmen really think she was trying to actually hurt her with it? The thought was almost amusing! She didn't actually possess any kind of magic to actually cause harm, but to evil beings such as Reapers, demons and monsters, it would be something to fear! Her vines were the only thing that could possible 'hurt' anyone, but even then they weren't to scary for skilled warriors, were they? "You and Phoenix are going to have some great times...As much as Ephraim loves to duel, Phoenix will challenge you often." She stood up from the sand, looking her over.."How cute.." She didn't say the word hot, how insulting! Instead, she reached right over, poking the little red feather's sticking out of the top of her head. "Phoenix is going to be so jealous! You do look very cool in this form, don't you? " Oh, god. She really said that, favoring Carmen's new look over her dear sister's own Phoenix form. There WOULD be trouble in the land of Phoenix jealousy!
If Athena wasn't so ridiculously entranced, she might of had SOME kind of reaction to Carmen's tiny downfall of her attempt to look so cool in front of her! Yeah, it didn't go so well as she hoped with that little fall of hers, still, lucky for her the one she was trying to impress didn't seem to even register it at all, or maybe she just didn't care? Carmen was just too cool no matter what it seemed to Athena's love-struck eyes! One thing was for certain, though, Miya was completely invisible right now, as her eyes followed Carmen with her continued approach. With her hand taken into the confidant archmage's own suddenly, Athena would find herself pulled right over to her in the next moment! The reddening of her cheeks now replacing her silly little trance, as she spoke softly. "..H-How?" She was pulled even closer, Carmen wouldn't have a hard time feeling her heart picking up as her blushing face intensified. Not a single soul had this kind of affect on her, and she would know Athena's cute nervousness wasn't easy to trigger. She had ALL the reason in the world to feel as confidant as she did! Then she felt herself dipped while in Carmen's arms, and her face moving closer towards the nervous princess's own. Oh, was she ever good at this. Did she even realize just how good she really was? It was hard to believe her social skills weren't the best, but her skills in romance? They were over the top great! Her moves, her spoken words, they just melted her heart all the more as her pretty green eyes gazed into her crimson ones."Really..? For me? " She didn't have much time to say anything further before Carmen's lips came to rest softly upon her own, oh, how the world around them faded in this moment, Athena's arms gently settling over her shoulders to bring them even closer as they shared the most beautiful kiss anyone could ever hope for.
And it was Miya who would preserve their first adorable kiss forever, with the click of her camera she bought in Midgar! Standing back, as to not bother their little moment, she made certain to capture the whole moment, the scenery and that beautiful sunset, all the while the two shared a kiss. It was to perfect to pass up, and who didn't want such a important memory save forever? "What a happy day this turned out to be! " She thought to herself, walking away proudly. She was very happy for her beloved sister, she would finally get her own happiness. She definitly needed it!

Just being near so much power clashing made it hard for him to sit still, he wanted to join the fray and battle both--but of course, they were dueling. Such would hardly be proper. And he needed to focus on battling to grow stronger, not simply to relish the battle itself. Having such a thirst for fighting was not a proper impulse for a king, and it wasn't something he was proud of, but neither was it something he could control. As Selene inched closer and closer to her arrival, he knew he needed to grow stronger... and training against such powerful foes such as Carmen and Orpheus would help him do exactly that. Even if Carmen had surrendered to him before, that clearly wasn't her full power. They seemed to represent some of the peak magical and physical abilities respectively he had ever seen, which only made him want to challenge them more.
But that would wait, as they were still in dialogue, and he was just finishing a separate training session. Leaning his spear against his shoulder, he spoke. "Impressive. I haven't met anyone else other than my mentor who could keep up with me when it comes to the spear.""...I still have far to go," Dimitri responded simply, lowering his spear. "It was all I could do to keep up. Your skill certainly surpasses mine.""And yet when it comes to raw strength, you very well may have the edge. A battle between us certainly wouldn't be one-sided." Even just this simple training and sparring session had them trading blows with neither giving an inch. It would be hard to find a more impressive display of spearmanship than seeing these two fighting."...Perhaps." Dimitri's strength had been described as monstrous, but he knew he owed some of that to his Crest. Even if he did have more raw strength than his foe, he wondered if that would still be the case if he was born without it. If they were on even terms. "I don't know why we were brought to this world, but it's helped me gain perspective on how much room I have to improve. As a warrior, and as a king.""Yes... I feel the same way." Any distrust anyone had at him, he likely had tenfold back at them despite receiving them with a fake smile. "I wonder how many skeletons this world will pull from the closet by the time it's satisfied." Ever since learning those who had died could be resurrected and brought here, he's anticipated ghosts from his past returning in a much more physical form this time. Little did he know, for Claude, he was one of those very "ghosts" he was partly dreading the arrival of."...I know the feeling." He still remembered when the Demon King arrived, parading around Lyon's corpse like a trophy puppet. The thought made him sick, it enraged him. Rose didn't need to tell him to kill Fomortiis to give him more power--he would've gladly done it for free."Thank you for the sparring, King Ephraim. And for the words. Between Claude's use of male pronouns and Shez's description of the world she comes from, how many different Byleths were there? And was the Byleth who helped him become who he is the one who would end up in this world, if any even did? He certainly had much to think on as he departed from Ephraim. Perhaps he should demand more concrete answers from Claude, though he anticipated much dodging and deflection if he attempted it."..." Ephraim crossed his arms, glancing to the sky. He understood Dimitri's desire to be with someone who seemed so impactful to his life, but on the other end of the spectrum, Ephraim wished he could send Eirika back to Magvel. The last thing he wanted was her to be forced to participate in another war. He let out a soft sigh, lowering his head to look forward again.
He could certainly use a fight to take his mind off things. Perhaps Carmen or Orpheus would indulge him now. Or if not, perhaps he could find someone else willing to meet his challenge. (( OOC: ))

"You must be dying to challenge one of them, aren't you? Or, knowing you...both! " Unisha's voice would come from behind him, everyone was so..spar happy on this island, but no one more so then the King of Renias here. "We all know how much you want to push yourself to be stronger, keeping yourself prepared and ready for any threat that might come, but it is also in these times that I think taking in the peace is very important. Above all, spending time with your sister. Relaxing, putting a little fun in your life will not harm you. The moment your life becomes only about war and nothing else, well...that would just be very sad. You have to enjoy this one life you have, and make the best of it...Train, sure, have your little duels, but don't forget to take care of yourself too, okay? " As far as she knew, having almost always been around, he didn't take any time to really relax, to take in little moments that one day he would regret not taking more seriously! She may not be the best one to give advice when it came to war, but she did feel it was important to remind him not to forget about his happiness.

She had seemed rather engrossed in the battle! "Impressive insight, Princess Unisha. Did you have to read my mind to come to that conclusion?" He had never been open about his enjoyment of battle with anyone except Eirika, because he wasn't proud of it. Still, with how often he battled and trained here, it was no surprise a perceptive and insightful young woman like her would be able to understand it to some extent. "Perhaps I could get them to team up and battle them both at once." That would be quite the challenge indeed! It seemed unlikely he'd win, but as long as it was simple sparring, he wasn't opposed to trying a losing battle. When it came to serious situations, that's when he tended to not pick fights he couldn't win. As she continued to speak, he paused for a moment, listening to her council intently. Then, he chuckled a bit. "I wasn't expecting a lecture from you today, Princess Unisha." He said with a somewhat playful tone. "Still, there is wisdom in your words. Certainly more than I possess, I imagine. You're right... it can be easy for me to fixate on improving given the threats we face, but without some relaxation, I very well may burn myself so hard that I lose efficiency when important battles do come." It wasn't a lesson he didn't know exactly, but more so one that it was easy for him to lose sight of. Though no one enjoyed criticism, Ephraim was historically very good at receiving it and considering what he was told. Probably good, since he received it often! It didn't always mean he'd change in the way the other person recommended, but in this case, Unisha was right. There were no ifs ands or buts about it. "Very well. If someone challenges me or I get the opportunity to challenge either of those two--or both--I can't promise I won't take it. But until then, I'll do what I can to commit myself to relaxing while we're here." Just how formally and seriously he just said that really went to prove how excellent he was at relaxing! It was one thing when it was in the days between himself, Eirika, and Lyon, but those days were long past him. They felt like another lifetime entirely... and him a completely different person. "...I confess this isn't my strong suit, though. I don't suppose you could help me, Princess Unisha? Or at least give me some pointers..." Imagine needing advice on how to relax. For Ephraim, the closest thing he had to relaxing was oftentimes training and keeping his body honed and fit. He wasn't the type to do more traditional ways of relaxing, but he was willing to try on her wise advice.(( OOC: ))
