Taki blinked. Ok.....
"It's Commander Keiji, Sir, remember? Head of your special forces? And you don't honeslty think that something like THIS would go unnoticed by your elite do you? I want to get in there and gather as much information about this so called resistence as possible, i don't want enemies in here running around and putting the higher ups' lives at risk." Suck up...

Kia grinned. "Excellent, i'd give you a cookie but i think i have something better in here," she looked up at Brooklyn, "And since you don't like 'weapons', this might suit you."

"What?" Brooklyn asked sarcastically. "Weapons that don't look like weapons?"
He sighed and jerked his head back, trying to flick stray bangs of hair out of his eyes and off his face, unsuccessfully. He cursed under his breath and brushed it swiftly into behaviour with his hands.
"I'm still not buying the whole sacred spirits thing."

"How the hell can I remember if you don't identify yourself, Commander?" Boris asked crankily. He had half an idea what Taki was talking about.
He glanced over at Rei who had rolled over and was looking at Boris questioningly, golden eyes blinking placidly at him.
"The situation is under control. There is no need for your assistance in the matter." Boris said firmly.

Taki shrugged, even though he knew Boris wouldn't see him.
"Fair enough, it's your death not mine," He stated.

Kia rolled her eyes. "I guess it's one of those you have to see it to believe it type things."
"Oh and you believe it?" Bryan asked.
Kia blinked. "I'm a very, um, accepting type person....?"
Tala rolled his eyes and looked over the box. "So what? You have 'sacred spirits' in their and we have to choose one or what?"
Kia grinned. "It's more like they choose you i believe."
She flipped the lid open. The top was covered in paper, documents, notes, pictures and other things. Tala quirked an eyebrow.
"You keep spirits in there?"
"Hey, what they're actually contained in isn't very big," She said.

"They can't be that Sacred if you keep them in that pile of junk." Kai said helpfully.
"And what do you mean by they choose you?" Brooklyn asked. "Not to belittle your cause, but it sounds terribly Pokemon."

"What?" Boris asked in a murderous whisper. "Need I remind you who you are speaking to Commander?" Boris asked, his eyes narrowing despite Taki not being able to see the effect.
"I understand that you've been on a mission lately so you may have forgotten how things work here." Boris looked around the room, looking for inspiration.
"To remind you, you are relieved of your commanding duties for a month." Boris stated, eying off the pile of dishes begging to be washed on his sink.
"Instead you can report to the kitchens where you can reflect on something I like to call chain of command while you scrape dishes." He paused for effect.
"Do you understand Keiji?" He demanded

((goddamn it! i keep forgetting! Taki's technically a MAJOUR which is the equivelant to COMMANDER in the navy, yet he is a COMMANDER of his crew becuase well, he's in charge of them out in the field))
Taki narrowed his own eyes. Screw it, Kiana better do whatever she's planning to do quick...He mock saluted the phone. "Yes sir, i understand every word, sir. And you Know i've spoken like this to you before but heh, bye Sir have fun with the resistence!" He said cheerfully before slamming down the phone.
He took a deep breath and ran a hand through his hair. Oh yer, deffinitely going to get barbecued for that. Why do i have to open my big mouth.
He turned on his heel and walked past the other soldier. "Enjoy your death," he said nonchalantly.

Kia narrowed her eyes at Kai. "It's not junk, it's research."
She shifted a few pages to get to the bottom.
"And this is not pokemon becuase that would involve the 'trainer' choosing the 'beast', this is the 'sacred spirit' choosing it's 'partner'."

((peh. who really is going to know the difference apart from you? I don't know army/navy rankings. Besides, it's Biovolt. They're expected to be weird))
"So show us already." Brooklyn said, looking at the box curiously despite his words. "Unless you've lost them beneath all your research."
He paused to consider something. "And the fact that you know about Pokemon lore frightens me."

Boris took the receiver from his ear and glared at it before hanging it up with a bang.
"Was that Taki?" Rei asked from the bed, stretching out so he was comfortable.
Boris nodded sharply as he considered what Taki had said and what that meant to him. "He seemed... different than usual."
Rei's eyes widened and he sat up, standing up and walking over to where Boris was. "Different, how?"

((i don't know, it's just a twitch moment for me - i have rankings comming out of my ears))
Taki walked back along the corridor and yawned. Stupid Kia....making me walk all that way for nothing...
The nurse who had been looking after Kai before looked around the corridor, looking for none other than Taki. She though she spoted him and jogged to catch up with him. He looked over his shoulder and raised an eyebrow lazily at the nurse.

Kia shrugged. "Hey, i think i did well for only being on the outside for a year, i can't help if pokemon interests me."
She moved more papers further before comming to a smaller box. She pulled it out, closed the lid and placed the smaller box on top, carefully opening it.
"Ooh, it's a box inside a box, very sacred," Tala muttered. Kia gave him a pointed look before taking out some small disks.

Brooklyn's eyes widened as he looked at the disks in Kia's hand, he reached out and took a black one from the selection, holding it gently in his hand and studying it carefully.
"What is it?" He asked, dragging his attention away from it with some degree of difficulty. He closed his fingers over the small disk, feeling a slight possessiveness overcome him. "Kia?"

"He was..." Boris realised who he was talking to and shook his head. "He was different, that's all."
Rei frowned. "Borya..." He started before Boris put a finger over his lips, effectively silencing the neko-jin.
"Don't worry about it." He said firmly, kissing Rei on the forehead. "I just have to think about some things." He said honestly. "But can you do me a favour?"
"Anything." Rei said with complete truthfulness.
"Can you go down to the kitchens and tell whoever's in charge at the moment to expect a visit from Keiji and if he doesn't turn up to call me?"

The nurse slowed down when she noticed Taki staring at her. "Um, Takiran? I mean Commander Keiji?"
Taki nodded at her.
She let out a breath she was unknowingly holding in. "Kai sent me to get you."
Taki's eyes widened and he turned around. Kai? But wasn't he with the others and Kia? Did this mean they were in trouble.
"What about him? Wasn't he with Kiana? I left them in the boardroom.
The nurse blinked. "Kiana...? Oh," She shook her head grinning. "Wrong Kai, sir. This is his other half that wants you."
Taki furrowed his eyebrows. "Right, that doesn't make sense but lead the way i guess."
She smiled and turned around again, heading for the cells, with Taki following.

Kia moved the disc around in her hand, grinning down at them lopsidedly. "I don't know, they look like discs to me," she looked up at Brooklyn.
"What do you think it is?"
She turned to Tala and held out her hand, her look daring him to take one. He looked at them warily and then glanced over at Kai.
Bryan looked at Brooklyn. "Brooklyn...?"

"I..." Brooklyn started, going back to looking at the small black disk, he could make out the motif of something that looked like an animal etched on to it.
"I..." He tried again before looking at Bryan. "It's name is Zeus." He said as if it was the most obvious fact in the world.
He closed his hand over it again before looking at Bryan, eyes bright. "Kia was right. They are sacred spirits." He said reverently.
Kai frowned at Brooklyn's reaction before looking at Tala, eyes full of worry.

Rei frowned at not being told what was going on but sighed and nodded, his training as a soldier kicking in. "Ok." He said, leaning up to kiss Boris' cheek before turning around neatly and beginning to make his way out of the room.
"Rei?" Boris called after him.
Rei turned around, smiling slightly. "Yeah?"
"Thank you."
Rei smiled genuinely. before turning around and leaving the room without saying anything.
Nothing needed to be said.
Boris sighed and leant against the wall he had been standing next to. What had Taki meant?

Taki followed the nurse in silence. After a while he started to get bored.
"So, your telling me the other Kai, the one that kid was killed to make was asking for me?"
"Yes, is it that hard to understand?"
"I don't know sounds a little wierd. I mean Kia said they were the same but having to Kai's around," he thought for a moment," Actually, that's a nightmare."
the nurse smirked. "I'm sure he would say the same about you, Sir."
Taki shrugged, "Oh probably but not like that matters now."
"Did you say Kia told you?" the nurse asked. Taki blinked. "Uh, yes, why?"
She smiled. "No reason, just thinking that it's about time you found out." Taki glared at her back as he realised she knew about Kia. Did everyone but me know she was alive?!
He looked around as they neared the cells. The last time he has been down here was with Kia. That atmosphere sure hadn't changed much. He surpressed a shudder before turning back to face the nurs's back as they walked.
"So do you know where he is? I'd like to get out of here quickly."
"I don't know, Sir, but it won't be that hard to find. Are you just going to leave him here."
Taki didn't answer straight away. "I don't know, if it one and the same Kai i'm kind of compelled to but i don't know how we would handle having two Kai's in the same room but i don't want him down here either," he sighed, "I don't know what to do, again."
The nurse thought as she continued walking. "Maybe if he could stay with somebody else? Anybody you trust?"
Taki shrugged. "I don't know who there is."

Bryan blinked at Brooklyn before looking over at Kia and her hand of discs. He furrowed his eyebrows, not sure whether to even think about taking one or not. Brooklyn could be putting on an act for all he knew. A darn good act but an act all the same.
Tala looked at Brooklyn incredulously. "Oh, that's it, you've corrupted him Lady, and i'm scared by it," he muttered.
Kia rolled her eyes and got up, walking around him. "I'm in a room full of non-believers," she said before walking over to Kai.
"How about you? Somehow i don't think Red's going to event ouch them if you don't say they're ok."
Tala poked his tongue out. "Says who?" but he didn't move forward all the same.

Brooklyn shook his head. "I don't know what you guys are talking about." He told them. "I haven't been corrupted by anything." He said firmly, still holding Zeus' disk tightly nonetheless.
"It's fine, Kai." He said looking at the bluenette and smiling.
Kai frowned and looked back at the disks Kia was holding. He tentatively reached out to take one, glancing at Brooklyn before picking out a blue one from the pile.
"Does this mean I have two sacred spirits that want me?" He asked, studying the disk with the same fascination as Brooklyn had only a minute before.
"Because Dranzer seems to have chosen me." He looked down at the disk again, confused why it fascinated him so much but at the same time, not caring.

Kai2 sat on the hard floor of the cell and sighed, leaning against the wall and closing his eyes.
So this is what Taki was saving me from He thought dully, holding his hands together to stop himself from pulling at the bandages that covered his face. He had a feeling that would have been a bad idea.
~
Rei sighed as he left Boris' room and began to head toward the kitchens, wondering what Taki had done to shake Boris so much.

"Black Dranzer?" Kai cut in. "Is that the name of the other one?" He inquired, playing with the disk in his hands, flipping it this way and that, watching it, continually fascinated by it.
From what he could make our from the engraving, Dranzer was some type of bird. The plumage was strange, though. He hadn't ever seen any bird that looked like she did.
Dranzer's a she? He wondered as he looked up at Kia, waiting for the answer to his question.
Brooklyn looked over at Bryan, noticing that the lavender-haired teen still hadn't taken the last disk. "Is there something wrong, Bry?" He asked quietly, moving over to where the Russian was.
He held Zeus' disk slightly behind himself, away from Bryan where he couldn't see the fierce grip Brooklyn maintained on the disk.
Brooklyn reached out with his free hand to touch Bryan's face gently. "You have that 'there's something wrong' expression on your face." He told Bryan seriously.

Kai looked up when he heard Taki's voice. "Hello?" He called, his eyes narrowing as he forced his voice past whatever the hell the doctors had done to him.
Kai sighed and held his hands even tighter together. I'm going insane He thought sadly, shaking his head and leaning back against the wall he was sitting against. Taki wouldn't come for this me

Rei grinned as he walked quickly, feeling good about himself for the first time in months. He'd finally picked a side in this insane fight.
He felt a small pang of regret in his chest that it wasn't the side of his friends but that couldn't be helped.
Boris had shown him that what they were fighting for wasn't actually benefiting anyone. What Biovolt was doing may have seemed cruel but it was for the greater good.
And that was worth fighting for.
