Earendil made his way to Haldia's quarters and knocked lightly on the door. When he heard a soft voice call back, he opened it and slipped inside, then closed it again behind him.

Haldia was still in bed, looking more exhausted than ever, and Celeb was still sitting next to her, though it seemed that he at least had had some rest since the day before.

"Hi," he grinned at Earendil and Senka. "You look pretty good. I guess you didn't get too close to the monsters like Haldia did."

Celeb scowled. "They're like really huge rats!" he spat. "They just scratch and chitter and they're bigger than me!"

Well what kind of description could one expect from a terrified woman who had barely seen her fellow captives?

Earendil frowned. "Celeb," he said softly, "those creatures are not monsters ... they are a creature called a gnome, they're kind of like dwarfs. They just don't know how to talk very well, and that makes them seem a bit scary. If you keep talking like that you're only going to make things worse for Haldia ... to make her feel better, you need to give her encouraging thoughts, thoughts that won't make her worry anymore."

Celeb nodded thoughtfully. "Maybe you should try," he suggested.

Earendil chuckled softly. "Like fish," he agreed. "And it's times like this that I wish you could speak her language, too, Senka. But as things stand, I need Celeb to fix my back, would you mind laying with Haldia for a bit? Talk to her, too, calm her down. Maybe she'll go to sleep, even."

He rubbed her head a bit more. "Your voice is very soothing, after all," he smiled warmly at her.

As Earendil lay on his stomach on the floor so that Celeb could walk on his back, Haldia reached out from under the blankets with one hand and set it gently on Senka's belly. Though she had seen and heard much of the cat during her half year on board, she had never really interacted with her before - largely due to the language barrier, she was sure. Still, she wouldn't deny that the cat was quite cute.

"Soft," she murmured softly, smiling faintly as she ran her fingers lightly over Senka's belly.

Haldia smiled a bit more and scritched a bit harder, then shifted so that she was laying on her side and pulled Senka closer, so that the cat was right up against Haldia's chest. She closed her eyes and held Senka close - gently - and started petting her more firmly.

She liked the feeling of Senka's purrs ... it really was calming, as nothing she had felt before ...

It didn't take long for Celeb to fix Earendil's back, and then the boy was back to sitting on the edge of the bed. He looked as though he wanted to reach for Haldia's hand, but the woman was busy with Senka - who also looked quite happy.

Earendil chuckled and sat next to Celeb, his weight shifting the bed slightly. "Looks like Haldia's finally feeling a bit better," he grinned. "Maybe we should send Whisper in here. She speaks her language, and she's big enough to give Haldia a sense of security as well." He put one hand on Celeb's head and looked down at him. "That would give you a break, too."

Celeb looked thoughtful as he considered the idea. "Well ... maybe," he shrugged. "But I promised Haldia I would stay with her until she falls asleep."

Earendil chuckled softly. "Then I'll leave the two of you here for now," he decided with a smile. "I have some work to do, but I'll send Whisper in here as well, and then I'll be back later on. All right?"

Celeb looked up at Earendil. "Can you get Leyenda to make some clothes for Haldia too?" he asked. "I know she's making clothes for Kelirahc first but Haldia needs warm clothes too ... else she might not ever come out from those blankets, I think."
