The huge oak tree fell with a loud crash, effectively blocking the road through the cold forest.
Just managing to stop sort of being crushed, Cassius took a breath and turned his wide-eyed gaze over his shoulder. His stance reflected triumph, and he grinned.
"You'll have to be a better shot than that if you want to put me in the dirt!" he crowed.
Suddenly, a pillar of stone erupted from the icy ground beneath him and connected solidly with his groin, throwing him into the air and over the tree. When he faceplanted on the other side he rolled onto his back, his face shrunken in pain.
"Ok, that was a good shot..." he rasped, crawling far enough away to sit back against another tree nearby.
Cassius took a few seconds to even out his breathing. The pain tugging at the back of his mind threatened to keep him from standing, but stand he did. He took in one last steadying breath and then stepped out from behind the tree. His three attackers had already rounded the fallen oak and were now less than ten feet away from him, robed men with billowing sleeves and deep hoods. They stared at him, their eyes empty of anything but hatred and determination.
"Now, now gents...lets talk about this like men." Cassius said, his eyes darting back and forth between the trio.
One of the men stepped forward.
"If you stood as a man among us, perhaps you'd be due that. But you are no more than a scavenging raven, picking the stores of others to find your treasures. Well this time, you pecked at the wrong bauble!" the man spat.
"A bird, am I?" Cassius muttered, considering the man's statement; 'the wrong bauble?' How was he to have known that the blushing young girl he'd deflowered just the night before (and then thrice more sown her fields, until the sun rose) had been the man's daughter? Really. "Then you three are but snakes before me!"
He swung his arms open, spreading them like wings. The unexpected action caught the other three men off-guard and they tensed, raising their own hands and channeling arcane power into their fingertips. Moments that felt like eons passed. And then...Cassius began flapping his arms. Yes, flapping and then strutting, even cawing. He made a ridiculous spectacle right there in front of the Gods and everyone, managing less to pull off "fearsome bird of prey" and more "child pretending to be a rooster." The men glanced at each other in light of this and dropped their hands, chuckling to themselves.
That was his moment.
Cassius quickly clapped his hands together in front of him, and a cloud of purple smoke blasted out from all around him. He felt his skin crawl and his bones creak, his body becoming lighter than air. And then he rose above it all, a raven flying on feathered black wings and looking down through tiny dark eyes at the shadows of the other wizards struggling to throw fireballs at him through the haze he'd left behind. He laughed to himself, a literal caw escaping his beak.
"Works every time..." he thought, turning himself toward the deeper parts of the forest.
Then he felt fire shoot up his spine. He'd been hit. A stray orb of flame, not very large but enough to sear him nonetheless. He could instantly feel that he was losing altitude as the wind wisped right through his charred feathers. Gliding as far as he could, Cassius managed to cover a great distance before he got too close to the snowy canopy of trees below him. Definitely enough to keep the angry wizards from finding him again with their spectral hounds. Probably.
Before he could give it any more thought, he felt his magic waning away to the urgency of the pain. His body started to revert back to it's human form, beginning at his feet. More pain washed over him as he struck through the treetops, tumbling from limb to limb at lightning speed because of his increasing mass. And gravity, of course.
"Damned laws of physics." he thought on his way down.
Just as he felt his beak shrinking away into his face again, it pierced something wooden. He found himself lolled to one side propped up haphazardly against the wall of the inside of a carriage of some sort. His shirt had been all but burned away, though the cool breeze he felt eased the pain screaming from the burns all down his back. More importantly, he was now surrounded by a bevy of beautiful women. In various stages of pregnancy. As in, women expecting. With child. Or children, as it looked to apply in some of their cases. Definitely not the strangest sort of woman he'd ever had, but then again...the thought had never occurred to him.
"Well, well!" Cassius grinned weakly, doing his best to sit up proper. "Helloooooo, ladies!"
His eyes promptly rolled back in his head and he fell forward, darkness overtaking him.

Cassius felt some strength returning to him, though what was unmistakably the body of a woman held him close. His eyes still closed, and kissed her cheek, wrapping his arms about her passionately.
"Already up, my little dove? Well nevermind! They say that the best love is made in the mor..." he opened his eyes and noticed that he was now hugging an armored woman and that they were standing in the middle of an icy forest. "...ning?"
He blinked.
"Gahaw!!!" he cried, jumping away from her.
The few things he noticed in that moment were the chill in the air, the pregnant women standing nearby, and his unusual lack of clothing for such weather. He had his arms at the ready, little sparks of purplish energy dancing around his fingers. But after surveying the scene, realization dawned upon him. All of the facts he'd seen could only mean one thing.
He sighed and dropped his hands.
"Ah. I must apologize for my behavior. You see, I am a powerful spellcaster, and sometimes I exceed even my own abilities to the point where I may blackout for stretches of time. Long story short...this isn't the first time I've came to and found myself sold into sexual slavery. It happens quite often, for what I'm sure are obvious reasons." he stretched his arms above his head, making sure to flex his well-toned body in doing so. "Although..." he approached the pregnant woman with the staff and knelt by her thoughtfully, poking her swollen middle. "...how long was I out, exactly? Surely you ladies didn't fall with child because of my actions! Or at least, I hope you didn't if I had to be unconscious for said-actions."
Cassius continued probing the young woman's belly. He even placed his ear to it and listened closely, as if to a distant conversation.
