ʃ Castle Oblivion || Kitchen Ħ

˹The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.˼

'Oh god, the fetus is here...'

"Hello child, no thank you, busy."

Drinking tea. Ever the taxing pastime. Didn't Haruko already satisfy her need to be strange yesterday, the day before that, and all of last week? It was too early in the year for this nonsense.

Aiko needed a change of scenery. And clothes. It'd been fifteen minutes already. Where was the damn atsuage?
Standing up without a word, she strode towards the cupboards, scouring them for anything tofu-related.

˻So it all comes down to what you want. Worms, or cheese.˺

[Castle Oblivion :: Kitchen]

"Good morning Aiko," Aria responded before lifting an eyebrow and glancing through her bangs at Masenko. "You have arms and hands, therefore you are quite capable of getting your own hot sauce," the nobody replied with a certain note of disdain in her voice. Unfortunately for Haruko, Aria was not as kind as Aiko and altogether ignored the entrance of the Swift Nightshade. She didn't want to deal with the human so early into the day.

Aria kept silent as curled her delicate fingers around her cup, sipping at the tea before speaking up again, "thank you for the tea Vereor, it is delicious as always."

[Ölüm]

(Unfortunately, there is not a fleck of remorse within me.)

[Castle Oblivion : Kitchen]

Ölum got up from his seat, and gestured for one of the ladies to take it. He had finished his tea in a single sip, and immediately felt the hot liquid burn the insides of his throat and stomach. The burning sensation felt nice after his meditation. It brought him back to reality; as long as he could perceive reality, he would be content with his surroundings.

"Vereor, if I may inquire, when can we get some blood on our hands again?"
he asked.

[Traverse Town :: Inn :: Red Room]

The heiress stirred from her sleep, blinking sleepily before bolting straight up. It was still dark in the room although the lights from town faintly streamed through giving enough to play on the shadows. The lack of light made her feel at home; Eiengetsu was always coated in the night with only the full moon to serve as their natural lighting. Suzu settled back into the pillows with a sigh, careful not to wake the moogle beside her.

"Ne, Kuu," Suzu whispered, leaning over the side of the bed where her brother had settled to sleep. "Kuu, do you think the others are awake?"

Zigmund

Castle Oblivion: Basement Lab #2> Kitchen

Zigmund was, to put it bluntly, in a fairly good mood.

It had taken pretty much the entire night and he had a splitting headache from a lack of sleep, but he had manged to get the lab in somewhat of a working order, transfer some of the more interesting materials to his own quarters, and had gotten himself pretty much settled into his new asylum.

The only thing dampening his mood was a piece of paper in his hand.

It was an utterly harmless thing; completely blank accept for two words

Zigmund Reports

Back at the Garden, researchers would tend to write logs or reports on their findings, musings, or everyday lives. Zigmund recalled that he had written dozens of the things over the years when he was Albert. 'Had' being the key word; he had dropped the hobby quickly when he was wandering from world to world. Now he was starting to write them again, yet another one of his old habits was creeping into his life.

"Tea's Ready"

I just can't seem to shake you, can I? Zigmund sighed as he opened a dark portal and walking through to the kitchen I think I need to see some field action. I've been lost in my own ramblings for far to long.

"Ah, tea, wonderful." Zigmund said as he arrived "I need some caffeine after last night."

{Don't fear the dark... fear what's in it.}

[Enchanted Dominion]

Zekvyr was awake long before Vereor's message reached him. Unlike the previous morning, however, the drow was not among the first to arrive in the kitchen; he wasn't even in the castle.

It was curious. Zekvyr heard it, even here, in the quiet and still of the pre-dawn day, on a world far from Castle Oblivion. The sound of Vereor's voice cut through the quiet sobs of the woman before him. He stood not five feet away from her, next to a statue, and she hadn't noticed him- would not notice him. (It was amazing how little these light loving creatures actually looked.) She lay her head on her arms and continued sobbing, repeating the words, "Our Aurora," over and over. Zekvyr left the room.

It quickly became apparent that he was in a castle. He had never actually visited this world before, and had opened a portal to it at random. There was, in his mind, a vague idea of where he wanted to be, but a solid basis for his search was sadly absent. It would take some time to find what he was looking for...

Other than the woman, very few people were awake at this time. Mostly servants. He quit the castle, and started along a dark area of the nearby forest, keeping to shadows and following no set path. There was a strong pull in this direction, a taint of darkness that deepened the closer he came. And thorns.

Finally, he faced another castle. He found it less accommodating than the last. To start with, it was ugly. The sculptures had no appreciation of beauty, that was readily apparent, but fear, ah, fear they were familiar with. Below him was the cliff he had climbed, before him the castle. He was exposed, for all that was worth. Most eyes would view him as nothing more than a shadow.

But in such a place as this, only other shadows would be looking at him...

He approached the gates.

[Nymira]

{Life, death, it does not matter. All that matters is that they are mine.}

[Enchanted Dominion: Maleficent's Castle]

A tall, scantily clad female sighed as she flipped through a book, tossing it aside as she found nothing of use in it. The soft thump of it hitting the ground brought up a cloud of dirt and dust as she reached for another book, her red nails lightly scratching the cover as she gripped it.

"Hmm.... Most of these books appear to be dark lore...ahhh, here we are. Dark magicks...."

Here finger traced along the lines of text, frowning at some things, smirking at others. Some of these magicks were worthless to her, but others would definitely aid her.

A ghostly form floated into the room, passing through the broken door, it's voice an eerie wail to those not in tune to necromancy.

"A shadow? I see.... Off with you."

The ghost floated through a wall and vanished, and Nymira left the bookshelf she was looking through, book still in hand as her heeled boots clicked on the cobblestone. She intended to see this shadow for herself.

[Maleficent's Castle: Courtyard]

Beyond the gate, Zekvyr would find numerous corpses in the courtyard. Lying in the middle of the ground, leaning against walls, some even up and walking around, growls and gurgles and wails flowing from their mouths in a horrific chorus. Some would be nothing but dried skin on bone, some were fleshy and meaty, some nothing more than just a pure skeleton(that made no noise except for the clicking and clattering of bone against bone or stone).

The zombies seemed harmless, just shambling around and making noise, but there was a lot of them, and most of them were in the way of anyone trying to get through.

[Kellan Feredir]

[Traverse Town: Inn]

Kellan let out a silent yawn as his pen scratched against the inn's little notebook he was using as an info log. He had just woken up, having slept so deeply that night that he was quite pleased, his hair and eyes taking on a sky blue in color to show it. Of course, that quickly shifted into an irritated yellowish-orange as he realized he still had nothing but a name.

Haruko...a teen that led a rebellion...and who somehow ceased to exist, it seems. Where in the world could she be?

His hair seemed to flow seemlessly into a shade of the deep purple of exasperation as he stood, pocketed his pen and notepad, and grabbed his coat. He could hear voices of people talking, and figured he could try to ask them for information about Haruko.

And maybe if anything happened the night before. He was in such a deep sleep that night that he was sure he might've missed something, the way things happened in this town.

Xεlℐzα℞

Xelizar's onyx skin relinquished to small wisps of purple and red as he did a butterfly kick, knocking a leaping heartless back into the crowd. His wings kicked up grit as he hovered, spinning in place. He hooked his false key onto another shadow that had tried to pop up under him and threw back into the mass. "Tee hee! So fun! Flying is so tiring, you know? I can't do it forever." He stuck it into the ground and gathered up rock and dirt and shaped it like a long scythe. Two of the soldier spun towards him, trying to protect the remaining shadow heartless.

It was fruitless. Xelizar performed another B-sweep and knocked the soldiers back, exposing the weaker shadows. With a very juvenile slash, he connected to two of the small heartless and split them open. Xelizar was getting rather bored with the scythe. He enjoyed getting dizzy swinging it around, but there wasn't any finesse to it. Not like the broad glaive that Xelizar shaped. Unfortunately, Xelizar drastically underestimated how feeble he was at close range with such a weapon and a shadow had managed to penetrate his guard and slashed his chest. He had stepped back, but the light wound made it apparent to the artificer that the heartless didn't like playing. And that angered him.

{Don't fear the dark... fear what's in it.}

[Maleficent's Castle : Courtyard]

For a moment, Zekvyr considered finding a less conspicuous entrance point, a decayed hole in the wall, or an area he could scale, perhaps. Generally, it wasn't advisable to just waltz through the front gate of a strange castle. There was no one around. It was either a castle abandoned, a castle built on arrogance, or a castle with eyes he could not see.

He entered through the gates, which gave way easily enough. There were corpses in the courtyard, a sight that inspired neither fear nor a need to hurry. Zombies and skeletons wandered around, paying him no attention- for the moment. Methodically, Zekvyr found a rock, about the size of a person's head, which he soon discovered was a person's head, or rather the skull. He casually tossed it aside and found an actual rock, which he placed it in between the gates. They stayed slightly ajar, unable to close.

Satisfied, Zekvyr turned his attention to the horde of undead. The feel of darkness was stronger beyond them, somewhere deeper in the castle. He needed to get past. The terrain offered little help. He couldn't avoid the creatures before him; if he wanted to get through, he'd have to go through them.

Frowning, Zekvyr approached. One step, two, he evened his stance before them, paused a moment, and then was simply... not there. There was a sound of steal slicing through flesh, a horrible tearing sound, that lasted only a moment. The most telling sign that something had happened was the suddenly lowered volume of the wails and cries in the courtyard. Zombie bodies, sliced cleanly in half, slid off of each other and hit the ground in a circle around the drow. His sword was visible for a moment, held steady after the attack, before he quickly sheathed it.

He found purchase on the stairs beyond, and continued forward without a backward glance.

Kuropo Guroko

{Judge me not by my size; For I am much more than meets the eyes.}

{Traverse Town : Hotel : Green Room}

Being far too small for the actual bed of the room, as well as the fact that MItsudo and Soryuju were in the room. Kuropo had sat down on the chair and had fallen asleep, his staff leaning against the arm rest. His black eyes slowly opened as he woke up hearing the voices of the two other occupants of the room. His eyes narrowing slightly in a glare as he lowered himself off of the chair. He grabbed his staff and without so much as a word to the other two occupants left the room. His feet padding softly as he made his way down the stairs and to the lobby.

'I wonder where going with them will lead... Wherever we roam I fear there will be danger indeed.' He thought, waiting for the others to arrive.

[Nymira]

{Life, death, it does not matter. All that matters is that they are mine.}

[Enchanted Dominion: Maleficent's Castle]

Nymira's heels stopped clicking as she stopped her walking, face twisting slightly with a venomous anger.

She could feel her magic over the zombies being severed as they were cut through. This, of course, infuriated a small part of her. Those were HER minions. How DARE someone destroy them?!

"Destroy the shadow," she said as she continued walking, the clicking seeming more angry and dangerous than before.

[Maleficent's Castle: Courtyard]

If Zekvyr paid attention, he'd realize that all the noise of the courtyard stopped, the silence deafening as wind whistled through holes in the walls and then corpses. All the zombies stared at the drow, eyes blank and mouths slack, before they all shrieked at once and charged, running and dragging themselves toward the 'shadow' with the intent to destroy it like they were commanded.

[Traverse Town: Inn]

Kellan's face went into neutral mode, his gruff exterior making it seem more intimidating than he was trying to be. His hair was even brown at the moment, his mood as neutral as his expression.

A small, child-like person came out into the lobby, and Kellan figured perhaps that person would know something.

The male pulled out his notebook and pen, scribbled out something, then walked up and showed the notebook to the tiny man(Kuropo).

Do you have any information of a teenage girl by the name of Haruko?

[Castle Oblivion: Revelin's Room -> Kitchen]

The mysterious male arose from his bed once again sitting up and gazing upon his hands. He once again questioned his own existence but slowly he moved on with his day adorning his coat and grabbing his mask upon a table. It was the same mask everyday but he just could not go anywhere without it. He put on his mask and then preceded to open a portal to the kitchen where tea was being served. There were many more people than yesterday morning, but he paid them no attention. While walking to his seat he nodded towards Vereor to show his respect before taking his seat and grabbing hold of his cup.

[You aren't good enough for her... drop dead buddy]

[Traverse Town : Inn : Red Room]

The prince shuffled around in his sleep a lot and was trained to sleep lightly but after yesterday's events he was more tired than usual. Suddenly in his slumber he heard his sister's voice and tried to promptly wake up. Unfortunately he could only muster one eye half open.

"Well that damned crazy guard of ours is probably awake so he's probably only causing trouble for everyone," he spoke ill of their guard. Kuumaru figured from yesterday that the guard was too overprotective and would still question the trust of their new comrades. "We should probably get up now and go check."
