Annie sighed as she stood up in the hanger of the facility and looked around, "They probably have more important worries at the moment than the whole you created. Shane has replaced the director of Valhalla... and there are the bodies that were brought in this morning."
"And, about Mr. Cortez," continued Annie, "you are aware he can control electricity. Your devices run on electricity. Figure out how to overcome that hurdle and maybe we're in good shape."
Closing her eyes she added, "Tell Shane when he returns that I will be in the morgue. I have a personal matter I want to take care of." She walked out of the hanger heading towards the morgue. Her heels clicking ever so lightly on the concrete floor. As she walked, she began to be lost in her own thoughts.
So, Mr. Cortez had gotten so much stronger because of eating the substance from the dead meta-humans. What would happen if she decided to even the playing field some? If the mouse had gotten so much stronger from the digestion of the substance, what would happen if a human meta-human did? The thought turned her stomach, but how else could she possibly take on the man?

Teshoumaru thinks for a moment. It hadn't been that long since he had gained the ability to walk in the shadows. Then again he was just able to do it. Maybe he isn't explaining it right. He reaches into a back pocket and pulls out a small headband. He holds it out to her and says, "I want you to put this over your eyes before you sink into your shadow. As you sink, concentrate on the area behind me. Try to visualize it in your mind. If you are successful you will feel something like an epiphany. When you remove the headband you will be able to see what is behind me in the shadow realm, and then the rest will come into focus almost immediately. Be patient, think of this as learning how to ride a bicycle for the first time."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shane shakes his head. "I didn't come here to pick your mind Lily. I came here to see if you are okay. You have been thrown into a world that is completely different from the one you are used to. Also..." He looks at her sternly, adjusting his glasses so that they are more comfortable. "I am worried about you. The EMT who examined you said that you looked like a ghost when they came up to you. At first I thought it was because you saw your friend in such a critical condition, but something in the back of my mind is telling me something different. Can you tell me what happened?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gidget runs after Annie shortly after she starts to walk away, "Wait a minute, what bodies? What does that have to do with Shane?"

Annie sighed, "The fact that Shane was placed in charge and considering his expertise in biology, he was placed in charge of helping examine the bodies of a few meta-humans that Mr. Cortez murdered last night."
She turned, "Leviathan Cortez has been murdering meta-humans recently. It is a sort of selective elimination that he is going through. Those he deems not worthy to live he kills. This is exactly why I don't want you to fight personally against him."
Turning back around, she tucked her hair behind her ear and continued towards the morgue. Upon arriving at the door of the morgue she paused, turning slightly to see if Gidget followed her, and hoping the girl did not.

Rod ate the other half of the meta-human's heart, his flesh thickening, becoming denser, growing thick rivets as his spine protruded. His mutations were rapid, disfiguring and cracking his bones, twisting them into unbreakable steel. Rod growled, a titanium cougar of a being. He snorted, spitting saliva out with a CLACK from his metal tongue. -- Lev sat in the alley, backpack on, listening to everything he wanted to hear. It seemed that he could even listen into the pulse of radio waves now, his lightning able to cross any lengths. Hell, the sky was literally the limit now. Lev was listening to an old jazz station, the sound hum of tuba and saxophone drifting from his mouth and ears. Rod clapped his hands and laughed, "Neat trick Lev!" Lev smiled, changing the station to classical. It was Beethoven Symphony Number Nine. "Ya know Rod. We gotta do what we gotta do tomorrow.." Lev pulled out three Marlboro Reds, offering one to Rod. "Yeah. I know.." Lighting them all instantaneously, Lev puffed on two at the same time, letting thick smoke curl up and around his hair and face. "That girl in the car, she's smart. Building a contraption no doubt..Well I got something for her.." Lev took another drag, nodding to Blitz as he ran up. "What's that?" Rod asked Lev. But Lev held a finger up, silencing Rod. Then Lev spoke out to Blitz. "Lose her? No..You don't lose people.." Lev spit, cocking an eye. A stern moment, and Blitz could literally feel the heat rise in the air, himself almost breaking a sweat. "I didn't-" "Don't SPEAK!" A flash of scalding crimson across the sky, Lev suddenly ablaze a moment, then pale. Blitz stood frozen where he was, praying to a God he never believed in to save him, give him one last chance on this miserable planet, at least for redemption.. Then Lev waved his hand and scoffed, "She'll die tomorrow anyways. She's bound to be there.." Another strange, almost knowing eye toward Blitz. Lev spared Blitz yet another day. "And all the other folk too. Some'll have pretty decent jib jabs and whatareyadoin's, but just play smart." Lev seemed to be talking to himself, though his voice was loud, his eyes on the concrete. "Yeah..It'll be alright. Now let me tell you about my plan.." And with that, the three huddled in the alleyway, conversing long after the sun had set and the moon had risen..

Lily sighed as she looked up and down the hallway. If he hadn't come to pick her brain, then what the hell was with the questions? She shook her head, her arms wrapping around herself in a tight hug. She didn't want to tell Shane what she had seen, the images so graphic that not even Holly wood dare to reactivate. But, she had to... She knew time was closing in, only she didn't realize how fast her visions would be coming into play.
"Look.. I can't tell you exactly what happened. All I know is I went for a walk, got lost, and Alabaster came and we began to talk. Then, he was going to show me to the closest hotel “wait, was that right? She couldn't remember anymore at the moment. So much had happened since the night before, she'd been up so long now her days where fading together, she couldn't tell night from day, nor yesterday to tomorrow. Sighing, she shook her head. "Then he heard something, and told me to run. So I did. Then I heard gun fire, and then he came running, hurt. And next thing I know he passes out and changes into Felix." she sighed, knowing that 'what happened' probably wasn't about what happened with the man now laying in a coma, but more about why Lily had looked so scared.
"While I was waiting for you, after I called... I don't know what happened, I blacked out... I don't remember" she lied, hoping that it would be good enough, she didn't want to explain to Shane that she saw all them die, her, Annie, Shane, Felix, even Gidget. All of them. She couldn't explain the horrible things that happened in her subconscious as she waited for help to come. But something had to be done and quick.
"This all could be the sleepless babble of a teenage girl." she joked it off. She hadn't gotten sleep in a really long time, not a good amount of rest anyways. That's it, Lil. You just need sleep... Sleep... A good nights rest and everything will be fine. she told herself as she began to look up and down the hall now. She half wished Annie would come marching down the hall to scream at her and haul her away to her dorm, telling her to sit and stay. She wished she could find Ako and get her kittens back; she wished she was safe in her dorm room away from all harm. But no matter how hard she wished, they where not coming true.

Unknown to Lily and a majority of the medical staff at the hospital, Felix’s coma was self inflicted. He had brought himself into it hopes of contacting his other half. However, after hours of searching he was no closer to finding a clue of what happened to Alabaster or his sanctuary. “Darn it! What the heck is going on!” He screamed as he slumped down in defeat, his back resting against what appeared to be a wall of a building. His sanctuary had the outward appearance of a lone city.
“Trust me Felix, you don’t want to know.” A voice called from behind and to the left of him. The voice was cold and uncaring, he knew it to be none other than Alabaster. A few moments pasted before he finally showed himself, bullet wounds littered his body, his left arm completely missing. Dried blood covering him from head to toe. “Worlds all wrong Felix, I partly did this. The rest is done by our powers.”
The purple haired boy’s brow began to furrow as he looked at Alabaster trying to figure out what was going on. “B-But why? Why would you do this to me Al! I need you!” He exclaimed jumping to his feet and grabbing his other half by the collar of their shirt. “You can’t leave me like this!”
His arms raised as he began to pat the air. “Felix, I am not leaving you, not completely. I needed to do this until I recovered. I got the worst of it in that fight. I did this so you’d be able to go on without pain until I got better.” Sighing he looked away and bit his bottom lip. “But, I should have known you’d do something stupid, like you are now.”
“I had to Felix, I’m nearly powerless without you! You leave me and that girl, Lily, was asking me all these things about yo” He tried to finish but Alabaster threw him against the wall. Felix’s face only inches from his other halves. His breath came in short gasps, he knew Alabaster was furious, he’d only seen him like this once before and it didn’t end good.
“Yeah, I know she did. You also revealed everything! You’re more of an idiot that I thought Felix, truly, you are!” Punching the weaker of the two in the jaw Alabaster began to go wild on Felix, punching and kicking him like no tomorrow. Once he was finally done he looked around, his left arm replaced, the bullet wounds slowly disappearing. “You’re going to stay here, I’m taking control, complete control.” Before Felix could interject Alabaster walked away from him heading towards Felix’s control center the place where Felix was allowed to control his side of their body and brain.
A little while later Felix’s eyes opened slowly, looking around he began to unhook the wires that were attached to him. Spotting a nurse some distance away he moved behind her and wrapped his arm around her one hand covering her mouth. “Don’t speak, and don’t dare fight. If you do I promise this will end badly for you. Now, I don’t want your doctors to interfere with me so...” Looking towards the window he smirked. “Let’s see if you can fly.” Without warning he threw the young nurse through the window only to land in a bloody pile on the ground below. “Guess not.”
Walking out of the room Alix ((Short for Alabaster in Felix’s form) spotted Lily talking to some brown haired man. Well, it looks like you’re doing well Slave L0234... he thought to himself as he moved towards them his eyes changing slightly, a majority of them staying solid purple but red spots could be seen all over them. Raising his voice slightly he placed his hand on Lily’s shoulder. “L-Lily, I’m s-sorry for how I treated you...” He spoke trying to minic Felix’s speech pattern. Looking at the brown haired man he smiled softly and extended his hand. “I-I’m Felix...” He spoke shyly looking away before the man could notice the sly smile that crossed onto his face.
((From now on, any bold parts in my post are what is going on in Felix/Alabaster’s minds. It is not transpiring in the real world, as such it has no affect on any other characters. Just letting you all know this. And yes, I'm back.))

Everyone will be at risk because of it.". she started to think about all the things that could go wrong. She shook her head "Sorry sensei I'll give it a shot." She ties her hair back then puts the headband over her eyes maintaining a picture in her head. She was getting ready to go down again with worries and pressure clouding her mind. It didn't occur to her that putting all of the worries and pressure on herself would affect her power.

The news station had been abuzz all day about the mysterious deaths of several vagrants and unusual electrical interference all throughout the city. Ever since last night Daisy Sun's head had been killing her. All night she had kept waking up every hour. Needless to say if it wasn't thanks to expert application of her make-up dark circles would be ringing her blue eyes.
Finally, she was thankful when her spot on the news had ended and she went to get a cup of coffee hearing a few of the others talking, including the woman who had witnessed Annie's display of power at the fire yesterday. They were whispering about the incidents occurring and how strange they were. When Daisy turned around the women fell silent.
Peppy, one of the girls said, "Miss Sun, you don't look too hot today. What happened? Didn't you have the day off yesterday?"
"Sure," Daisy replied coldly. "I was doing some private investigating. Not all of us have a boyfriend or fiancee to keep us distracted on our days off."
She turned and set down her cup of coffee and gasped as sharp pain went through her head. She could visualize just locations, someplace under the university, a warehouse... the hospital. While, most didn't like Daisy much, they could see she was pain, and the one girl ran to her side and said loudly, "Daisy!"
She turned her eyes bloodshot, before she closed her eyes, her most excruciating migraine had come. She felt like her head was splitting apart. Holding her forehead, she said, "I... I ne-need to... to go home."
"Don't worry I will take over your shift on the six o'clock news," said another girl.
Meanwhile, the peppy girl snapped at her, "Like Hell you are going home. You are going to the hospital. You have a migraine from Hell. I'll drive you there." Most times Daisy would argue but she didn't have the energy to do so, and let the girls help her out of the break room and drive her to the hospital.
(I feel like reintroducing Daisy... what can I say?)

Lilies eyes widen as Felix had walked out of his room, the color completely drained out of her face, he was still weak it seemed, so she quickly found her arms around his waist. Holding him up, as she did she noticed the strange discoloration of his eyes, and his speech pattern was cross. She eyed the man with some suspicion, he sucked as a actor. But, regardless, she played along.
"Felix! You should be in bed!" she exclaimed, shooting a look to Shane that she needed his help in getting him to his bed. After what happend last time the man passed out -the switch from Alabaster to Felix- she didn't know what to expect this time around, and not too mention that she had the strangest feeling that right now Felix shouldn't be trusted.
Though as soon as she began to lead Felix back to his room, her vision was taken over again by Visions. She slammed back against the wall, her fingers quickly pressing to her temple. This wasn't good, the images where flashing pass her vision faster and faster, and each time they did she could barely control her body.
she could make out voices. Many voices, all screaming out. Then she saw it. Red, all that filled her vision was the color red. A bright orange red, much like you see in a fire, smoke filled the air, along with her lungs. She was burning to death, looking around she began to realize she was still in the underground facility, the calender on the wall stated that it was the next day.
then she heard the same tune, the song she had heard Lev sing "Let grasses grow and waters flow, "In a free and easy way.. "But give me enough of the rare old stuff, "That's made near Galway Bay!" His voice holding a sickening crackled laugh. She felt vile build up in the back of her throat, standing up she noticed something else strange about the room. Laid out before her where a series of corpses, all having carnage covered with a vermillion spray. The walls having the same color red.
She couldn't hold it any longer. The vile she'd been holding back came rushing pass her lips, onto the floor adding with the strange display of death. Then she looked up, not only seeing Lev, but his two accomplises that had been haunting the back of her mind for days now.
Lily gasped as she came out of her dazed like state. Tears filling her eyes as she looked at both men, both giving her the look of hell. She gulped shaking her head, her voice shakey just as the rest of her was. "W-w-we h-a-v--v-v-e to get o-u-u-t of here." she finally got out with a bit of trouble. She couldn't explain to them what was going on, what had happened, and why she was so scared. But she needed to talk to Annie, she needed to talk to them all.

Gidget frowns as Annie walks away. She had hundreds of questions for her friend, but not enough time to ask them. She has a lot of work to do, and almost no time to do it. She will have to pull an all nighter to get all of her designs accomplished. When she spoke to Shane last, he had gotten permission for her to utilize the R&D facility to her fullest desires. Now especially, she has many many desires.
The first thing she decides she'll do is modify the suit to her liking. Now that everyone knew it was her inside of it, there was no need to have it be so large. Then there was the problem of Leviathan. She will have to find some way to counteract his powers. Also the metal man, and the man Annie spoke to in the alley. She opens the door into the R&D lab. She sees the entire world before her, and her eyes darken to take it all in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shane takes Lily by the shoulders to steady her. He is sure now, she is experiencing psychic backlash. She is inexperienced and cannot control the input of visions in her mind. "Lily take a deep breath. I know what is happening to you, and I can get you help, but you have to tell me it's okay. I wont take you down there against your will again."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Teshoumaru reaches out and grabs her arm quickly before she sinks. His voice is soft and kind, "Hold on just a moment. I cannot see your eyes now, but I can feel your doubt and frustration. These things will impede your progress Kage-chan. Take a deep breath and picture your place of Zen. Once you are calm, try again."

Smiling, as she saw Gidget turn around, Annie opened the door to the morgue quietly, and slipped off her heels as she stepped into the morgue. It was generally quiet, and apparently her appearance had yet to be noticed. She glanced about the lab until she caught sight of some of the substance taken from the deceased meta-humans.
Taking a deep breath she quietly walked to the dish and opened it, wincing she looked at the substance which seemed to be faintly glowing. With a shaking hand she dipped her hand into the substance and pulled out the fine particles and opened her mouth.
"Now or never," Annie whispered to herself dropping the powder into her mouth.

She listens to him and takes a deep breath and thought about going up to her room and getting lost in a book. It brought her a sense of calm. It was she fell into her shadow and into darkness. She remembers the area behind her sensei. Then she notice in the darkness, the shadow realm wasn't just like a room without lights it was almost liquid. She could feel it surrounding her. She takes off her blind fold and sees it with her glowing green eyes. She sees all of the opportunities of where she could go. Seeing this made her no longer afraid of being in this realm and being trapped here. She could see her sensei, where he stood. She smirks to herself as she heads up toward him her hand came up from his shadow and tugs his pant leg and thinking he would look back to find the source of the tugging she comes out from a shadow of a box that was in a foot away in front of him. Then looks away innocently and smiles mischievously.

(AND NOW FOR A NEW SURPRISE CHARACTER. Surprise! His name is Eros. He can fly and throw objects at incredible speeds, and he's.. A GOOD GUY.) The air was nippy. Heck, it had gotten really bad when the lightning had began firing, and Eros had to do some fine maneuvering. He even legged it to Mach two, and he'd never had to go half that fast... Well, until now.
A man, seemingly standing in the blue of the sky above, hovered a moment, looking down at where he had last seen the commotion. Eros was skinny, wearing old military fatigues he had once found, old buttons with catchy motto's lining the front flap of his jacket, his boot laces hanging limply in the still air, swaying back and forth. Eros had a flash of black hair, a sharp face, edgy and rough, WWI bombardier goggles strapped over his eyes. Picking at his nose, the hovering fellow gently swooped 30 feet down, now out of the gently moping clouds that once hid him. His speed was incredible, his every jitter sending him spiraling in what seemed any direction he so chose. Eros now had a toothpick in his mouth, wiping a thin string of snot from his running nose. "Weird s**t. First I can fly..Then red lightning." Eros dropped the length of an eight story office building, his feet already walking upon the pavement, in far less then any second could count, his clomping steps heavy for such a strange man. Eros rounded the corner where he had last seen the three, but now it seemed they were gone. Eros was at the end of the alley, then upon another street, then the next, in less then three seconds, flashing around, nearly unseen, a blur across the horizon. Scratching his head, Eros looked around, confused.. --- Eros had felt the heat rise around him, and with a step, one faster then any jet, leaped Eros away from where he was once, his vision blinded in claret, himself firing off, red filling his vision. A quick turn, then Eros found himself diving and twirling, the air whipping his face as lightning screamed just behind him. It seemed Eros could outrun the heat lightning, barely, but how long would he keep? --- Lev had sensed the man in the air, smelled the change in heat around the electromagnetic currents in the sky. After telling Blitz and Rod's parts in his plan, they went off to do their duties.. And Lev did what he always did. Hunted. But this time, this time victory was not sudden. Confusion at first, then a calculated anger. How? How could his lightning miss, once, twice.. Three times now! Lev's anger was held inside, and Lev simply heaved a sigh. He would need his strength, and chasing strangeness was no way to do so. Lev began out of the building he had chosen to sling his invisible assault, pulling out another Marlboro. "I'll get you Hermes.." Lev cracked his fingers, "And the rest o' the Gods on Olympus too.." -- The heated feeling left Eros, and he in turn skidded to the ground, on his back, across the hard gravel until he lay panting in a dirt plodded field, the sky above clear as day. Eros felt his face, cold to the touch, then breathed heavily for at least two minutes. He knew that death had been only an inch, maybe closer, away, and in this thought Eros was filled with terror. "I've got to find shelter..Help of some kind.." Eros panicked, talking to himself. Flying had been all fun and good, but now an enemy that could pelt him out of the sky? Eros felt like crying. Sitting there, on the outskirts of town, a panicked young man held his hands in his face, and contemplated his next move.

Teshoumaru can feel the tug against his leg. He smiles, reminiscing about his younger days with Freya. He looks forward at she hops out of the shadow being created by a box. "Well done, I knew it wouldn't take you long. Just remember that you can only travel through shadows that are large enough for you to phase through. A shadow being created by a pencil, for example, would only result in your self mutilation. It's not a pretty sight."
He takes a few steps forward. "When you are ready, we'll go over shaping your shadow into something physical. If you catch onto that quickly enough, I will show you how to make it a mobile portal into the shadow realm. Something that will definitely come in handy against Leviathan Cortez."

Returning from a break, Doctor Acula strolls into the morgue to find the last thing he was expecting. "What are you doing?! Stop, you don't know what will happen!" He runs toward her, his hand outstretched to slap the petri dish from her hands.

Annie turned at hearing Doctor Acula's shout, already dropping the handful of substance into her open mouth. The petri dish falls onto the floor as Dr. Acula slaps it out of her hand. "Too late," she said, grabbing a table to steady herself. She coughed as some of the powder caught in her mouth, a few speckles of black blood falling into her hand. She was shaking as she held herself up, and let herself slip onto the floor into the contents of the spilled petri dish.
It was an amazing feeling, pure power surging through her veins. She glanced up at the doctor and said smiling, "See, I'm fine. Actually I feel a Hell of a lot better than I did a minute or two ago." Holding up her hands she created a water sculpture of sorts of a dancing elephant that she changed into acid. Curious she touched it and expecting to feel the singe of the acid burning her skin instead she felt nothing. Calmly she changed the acid back into water and let the elephant form evaporate into the air.
The control from that little bit was amazing, she would have been exhausted from doing something like that before considering how she used her powers earlier that day, but instead the display didn't even phase her. Yet, she was looking at her unsigned hand as if it was a foreign object, "I... I think I'm immune to acid- or at least my own acid now."
Calmly she stood up and dusted herself off, "I plan on evening the playing field, Doctor, by any means necessary. Leviathan Cortez will strike here tomorrow. Even if this substance ends up killing me or even just giving me temporary power, that is okay. He is using this stuff too, it is only fair to do the same thing, right?" As she spoke, her brown eyes were cold and determined, even her own words chilled her, she wondered what affect would it have on the doctor. Perhaps, none, he didn't know her before.
In the past several days, she could feel herself changing emotionally and morally, doing things she never would have dreamed herself capable of. She was a murderer and now she was risking everything on getting enough power to try to kill another person. Annabella Soulsmith had taken a path from innocence and could never turn back. She wouldn't call herself evil, but she knew she could never call herself good, again... especially now: wasn't what she just did the same as cannibalism?
