The magical orb flitted through the tunnel, its faint luminous glow brightening the area as it passed. It dives through the cavern as it suddenly descends, opening into the mouth of an open chasm with multiple layers. The eye gazes upon more of the strange runes throughout the cavern.
1-5 The eye is destroyed by an unseen source 6 There is no current aggression
Results:Amazingly The eye remains intact. It takes sight of shadows moving in multiple corridors of the chasm as it floats over it, revealing a much more drained underground river unlike the one Sylmeria had described. The shadows appear very humanoid, but they only appear for a moment before they disappear again. They are very aware of the orb's presence, though they have not struck it down yet.

"Odd," the young mage mumbled to herself with curiosity bvefore realizing she had yet to relay the information to her allies. "Oh sorry," she said before telling her companions what she had found.

"Well, we have found a quarry." Tjaden announced in a harsh whisper, unsure if his voice would carry through the tunnel. "The question is if we should pursue it directly or hope to avoid it." The Orc turned to the rogue; the who could best led them away from creatures that stalked the darkness. "What would you suggest, Kal. Can we succeed in circumventing them or must we take them out now?"
Tjaden honestly had no clue, being of knightly training. He was a liability if they choose stealth.

Kal thought intently as Selce relayed the message. Tjaden almost echoing his thoughts. He had not observed the enemy himself, nor was the glowing eye exactly stealthy, but the enemy had noticed the tiny object sooner than it could see them, which was a feat in and of itself. "Do you recognize the territory described?" he asked the elven woman. It was a tough decision to make, especially as Kal had never been the 'leader'. Far as responsibility goes, this was his first time in this position. He would like to attack them, as that was the simple route, and given their current group, most likely the only decision they had, but... he had the fleeting and slowly solidifying thought of teaming up with the elven lady to scout ahead and start the fight in thier favor. Bypassing the two that had noticed the small eye would be highly improbable, especially in the case that they were now on guard... But they could at least be smart fighters.

Erron gave a soft sigh, so early into the expedition they had run into a considerable roadblock, their opponent was unseen to them and now they were aware, having some limited sight helped but did not give them an advantage over a foe that was optimized in this sort of...circumstance - An idea popped into his mind as that particular thought ran through his head.
He whispered "Do you think that perhaps, casting some light onto the situation would help?" Even they had not been provided with vision, Erron's mischievous grin would have been audible.

Thorifin chuckled softly at the human. "I like your line o' thinkin'," he added. He would highly prefer fighting in the light, on thier terms, rather than the darkness on thier terms. Besides, why fight in the dark without the honor of showing the men who they're dieing to?

"You are thinking of going in, lights blazing?" Tjaden asked. It sounded about as cunning as one of his own plans, which was only slightly. He knew as well as the others that they needed to deal with the figures in the cavern beyond, but he had not expected a direct assault. "I am ready when you are, though we will need to rush to the exit to block any escape, and we will have to move quickly."

Kal was still waiting on the woman's response, but the group was getting riled up for a direct assault on the two, most likely, assassin's trained in the art of darkness. "No," he quickly inserted at them. "We can't go head first, light blazing, or we're as good as dead. When we're in, we can light up and fight, but our entrance needs to be silent and dark, if that option is available," he replied. He rubbed the sinus region of his nose for a second. They were all less intelligent in stealth, but he'd hoped one of them may know that all lights create shadows. If they go in with light, they will rely on sight, and therefore will be doomed by the shadows they create. He awaited for the elven woman to respond. If they did decide on a direct assault, they would need to form teams of two to cover each other's back, and that was his second option in this dilemma.

Tjaden nodded at the halfling's words. He had figure thats what the thief would say. As badly as he wanted to fight face to face, the enemy would do his or her best to prevent that. They needed a thief to catch a thief, for lack of a better description.

((I was thinking more along the lines of localized light bursts, but okay, lets save the idea for the "tougher" fights.))
Erron frowned, another dead-end, they did not know whether or not they were dealing with an enemy with good night-vision, sensitive to light or simply relying on good hearing, he picked up a pebble and played with it idly, catching it and tossing it up into the air.
"Well, we have to do something, for a stealth approach we either have to take everything out along the way, disable it or avoid it" He whispered, "maybe we should start at that, how we intend to proceed?"

((Sorry, been pre-occupied in school))
Sylmeria shook her head at the halfling.
"The river should be there, it sounds as though it has been drained or that this tunnel has been diverted in a different direction than I recall, or worse, it may not be the correct tunnel."
The elf paused as she considered the group's plan of action.
"Assuming that we are facing the dark elves, it would be prudent to use only our current degree of vision as we will be on even terms with them until engagement... Upon the first sign of combat, however, I would recommend shielding our own eyes and using the Light itself as a weapon. The sudden shift in vision would cause enough chaos to give us an advantage."

Kal looked down at the ground on the expected, but unpleasant answer. "Well, that sounds like a decent plan. Let's continue forward, but everyone bend your knees and get as low as you can to the ground. Sneak softly and focus on trying to make your feet silent for each step. Like touching water and making no ripples," he explained and described. He lead the way, keeping his eyes open for traps and for the enemy.
Thorifin nodded to the decision, even if it wasn't his personal favorite. It wasn't his group to lead, his time of leadership had been earlier. Now, his duty was to follow and protect. He bent his knees, though walking with his knees bent was new to him, and pressed onward, trying to focus on his feet and feel the ground before placing his foot on the ground. He tried to imagine the water example and it helped slightly.

Preemptive Strike!
1-3 The group enters the cavern stealthily, avoiding detection. Sylmeria positions herself for a killshot on one of the dark elves. 4 The dark elves detect the group and launch a surprise attack, dealing moderate damage to Thorifin and Sylmeria.
Results: The group infiltrates the cavern efficiently. Sylmeria lies down flat on her stomach on an overlook of the ravine and takes aim for one of the seven dark elves on the ledge.
