((Yeah, sorry about the Kaze dojo being slow. I'll prod Reeve again to reply if I see him get on MSN.))

She changed her mind about braiding her hair, undoing what she had started. She started to move towards the shower, not closing the door so she could keep talking to Jin as she cleaned herself up. She didn't care if he peaked, and it wasn't like there would be anything around to see her that hadn't seen her before.
"My body's like.... someone put all kinds of different parts into one body and hoped it would work... Some of it's because what makes me up now. Other parts are things that have been done to me over the years"
The water would turn on, steam would start to fill the room a few moments later from the heat of the water. She ran her fingers through her hair as the water sprayed against her head.
"I'll answer about the original body in a way though, this is it technically. This is me, the same me I've been for ten millennium, give or take. I'm older then the one you might still think of as the original even..."
She cut the water and started to put her shampoo onto her hair. If one read the label it said 'for a shiny coat' on the bottle.
"It's not the exact same, but it's the only body I can use, and it's the only body I want to use, even if it's changed from how it was. Its form changes in simple ways I can do on command, or complicated ways which I have no control over. It's even changed in ways that only happened once and eventually I managed to get myself turned back. If everything's working right I should be aging at half the rate of a human, maybe even a quarter the rate. I haven't exactly had to deal with age for the past fifty years though. I got hit by a magical curse that didn’t work due to an older curse on me. They both acted up and I ended up looking like I was 14. I mean I’m somewhere around two years older now by looks at best."
She started to brush her hair to get the shampoo in better, turning the water back on after a few moments. She was still brushing her hair under the running water, now working on removing the shampoo.
“Magic doesn’t work well when you end up moving around the way I do. I can’t exactly stop that curse however, aside from being extremely cautious in some ways. Sometimes I’m able to stay in a place for years, other times I find myself being pulled away within days. It depends on so many things that I barely understand myself after dealing with it for so long.”
She moved on to clean her body as she continued, stopping her words for a few moments to allow for rinsing her face gently with a cloth.
“But my body always feels like it’s going to come apart. Every two weeks I shift forms between the fox and dragon. It hurts, feeling your body being pulled apart little by little while more is forced out to replace what leaves. It’s the price I had to pay to have my real bones back I suppose. I mean even if I were to be killed, or have this body destroyed like I’m a shadowclone technique they’d still be here. It may not seem like it would be worth it, but it’s something that makes me know I’m still me, that I’m unique. That I’m not what most consider the original, or my creator. It makes me me, even though I know my body’s made from a mix of who my memories tell me are my creator’s mother, and someone who’s from my dragon’s tribe. Who created me isn’t me and what makes me up isn’t me right?”
She continued to clean her body before Jin would hear the water turn off.
"The original that's alive is one of the people I consider my sibling. My first memories are from before him however, but that original died when she was only twenty five years old. "

She walked out past Jin, giving him time to process what she had said. She was showing some modesty now, wearing a towel around herself. Her tail wrapped around her right leg so as to not move the towel in a way that would show anything off. She decided she had probably released her inner perv a bit too much. Given what she was telling Jin it would probably be for the best if she went to get dressed in something a bit more conservative.

She walked over into the closet the three copies had retreated into before their entering the bed. There was a rustle as she pulled on her clothing. A white kimono with orange patterns and trim that only went over the left arm, some kind of white shirt and shorts underneath the kimono, and a slightly fancy obi to hold the outfit together. The fact that she had chosen somewhat heavy almost Gothic like combat boots for her feet seemed a bit silly.

Jin snaps out of what ever reverie had a hold on him. He looks up and follows Lina with his eyes.

"Sommat Ah can nah imagine. Ah'm nah one thing nor another, but two rolled inta one. 'N Ah get confused, sometimes, as ta which one Ah be. But nah damn near as complicated as you."

Truth be told, it's hard for Jin to process Lina's situation. It's not that it's too complex for him. Though Jin may act silly, he's a very intelligent man. It's just that he doesn't have a frame of reference for this. He can't imagine what Lina's life must be like. To have lived for so long with these problems.

The dragon grimaces and reaches up to run a hand through his drying hair.

"Well, Ah cannah say Ah can relate. 'N there be no advice Ah can give. No way Ah can help ya, really, though Ah wish it were nah so." He grins, eyes lighting up, and says, "Whate'er it entails, though, Ah can try to make things easier for ya. At least make sure yer ne'er alone."
PostPosted: Tue May 11, 2010 10:09 pm

She smiled a bit at what was being offered by the other dragon. She felt he was taking his listening to her explanation well to say the least however. Especially given he hadn't been like many in taking the more immediate reaction of responding to what most men locked on to.
"I don't expect you to have to imagine it all, or fall into my shoes, but I thought it best that you know some of the less likable details of what I am now. I'm glad you're so kind Jin. Believe me when I say I'll be perfectly willing to follow your wishes in this relationship oh kind soul."
She brushed her hair over her slightly abnormal kimono. "Do you like my hair down or braided?" she asked with a chuckle, giving him the most mundane choice to her mind. She asked that as she started to lead him out of the room, grabbing a cylinder of something from her pantry on the way back to the door back to the Rai dojo.

Jin hops up and follows her, smiling as he trots along. He reaches out and gently takes a lock of her hair between two fingers, letting it slowly slip out of his grip as he watches how the light plays with the strands.

"Down. When ya move, it be like strings o' starlight."

When the last strand falls back into place, Jin lets his arms relax at his sides.

"O' course Ah cannah put meself in yer shoes. But Ah cannah say those details are unpleasant, either. Makes up part o' who ya are, right? So how can tha' be a bad thing? May nah be easy ta handle, but there would be no good in life wit'out tha bad. 'N if sommat come up that forces us ta clash a little, then Ah'll just find a way ta make it work. So no worries."

Jin's optimism is unreal. But it's how he is. And Lina's attitude helps. She called him kind. Jin's just that way. He's always been that way. But it feels nice to hear her say it. To hear Lina in particular say it. And the thought that they've formed a relationship... Jin's smile widens. It happened fast. And it's new and a little strange. But Jin doesn't regret it. And he doesn't think he will ever come to regret it. He feels like this the start of a very good thing.

"As far as mah wishes, Ah be more concerned 'bout yers. Ah'm easy ta please, so do nah worry."

She smiled as she kept walking, listening to his comparison and even letting a bit of a blush appear at his choice of words. She was enjoying hearing his romantic side. Especially now that she knew the words were said with him understanding at least the basic level of what she was feeling for him. She was old and because of that felt love needed time to develop, time to understand how both felt. But she also knew that lust could lead to love and given just how dragons felt about their human forms Jin might be scared off.

"It's not a bad thing for me honestly. But sometimes these things matter more then you might expect. Though other times my choices matter more" She shook the cylinder then opened it, revealing some kind of root. "I'm a vegetarian by choice normally, I don't reject meat when it's offered, but both my sides have tasted human, and to me it holds the same value as any other meat. So if I reject one I need to reject the rest."

She enjoyed the optimistic view Jin had. Her own self usually was closer to pessimistic, but opposites attracted after all. Her mind always was easy to become chemically unbalanced, but with how much of her mind held memories that wouldn't be surprising that it created problems. Still when she heard his last words she had to tease the dragon, unsure if his mind fell into her stereotypical pessimistic view or not, but still knowing she wanted to make herself his in any way as she said with a perfectly normal voice.
"My only wish right now from you is that you make a list of every single perverted idea you come up with and keep it till the next night you feel like spending with me."
She tilted her head as she walked up the stairs and walked into the kitchen, picking up a pot and filling it with water, then she started her orb technique in place of using a burner.
"And remember hun, I have one very nice fact from this body." She moved closer, whispering it into his ear. She played to the stereotypical male mind here, but given Jin was anything but she felt her deserved what he would never be likely to ask her for. "I was raised knowing a perfectly good, perfectly solid way to shape-shift, meaning when my fox side's out you can have me to look any way you feel like" She smiled calmly as she added. "I bet you're the type who wants to tell me looks don't matter, which is exactly why I'm telling you that since looks don't matter I don't care how you want me to look" she punctuated her statement with a wink, followed by a quick kiss on the cheek. Lina was defiantly showing she was screwed up in the head a bit here, but it was something that she suggested might be how she was raised, not how she felt about herself, and given the tease she had shown off before Jin might wonder how much she could use it to play with his mind either way he went.

She started stirring things into the broth that started to form as the root dissolved. Occasionally she'd form the sphere into a small blade to dice things up rapidly before returning it to the position as a burner. After a few more repeats she formed the sphere into a disc, letting the pot float behind her. She pulled out a frying pan, looking through the fridge. "Requests? And my meat issue only relates to my own choice, so you don't have to worry about offending me if you want something like sausage, or ham or whatever..." She muttered over her shoulder.

Jin's eyes widen a little and his jaw drops as she mentions having tasted human flesh. Of course, he's walking behind her, so the expression thankfully goes unnoticed. Ya see, Jin knows he's half of one and half of the other, and therefore not really one or the other. And if he were of a different mindset, he could probably eat human flesh. Another of his mixed breed might do so. But partaking of human is something he's never been able to do. It just doesn't feel right, when one knows that the human in question could, for all he knows, be a relative. Or an old friend of his father, considering how much the geezer travels. Jin doesn't comment, though, when Lina talks of her choice to be a vegetarian. It kind of balances it out in his mind.

When she changes the subject to her wishes, the shock quickly fades. He listens to her talk of the interesting things she could add to their romance, raising an eyebrow in curiousity. And he smiles in response to her kiss. He does realize that she's a little strange, but doesn't mind. He just thinks her interesting.

"E'rey perverted idea, beautiful? Mebbe nah a good plan. Be busy fer quite a while, we would be. 'N besides, Ah think it better ta take our time wit' tha. Leave a few surprises fer on down tha road. As fer yer form--" Jin shrugs his broad shoulders. "Surprise me, darlin'. You be righ', Ah like ya tha way ya are. Ah would nah change a thing."

Jin sniffs the air and peeks over Lina's shoulder. He's curious as to what that root is, and what she's cooking. When she moves from the range, he makes sure to stay out of her way. He's watching her use of metal, too. Rai certainly is an interesting element. Somewhere down the line, he would like to learn it. For now, though, he's still trying to make a proper air bomb.

He twitches an ear when Lina talks again. He just shakes his head.

"Nah. Ah'll have what you be havin'. But, eh, what is it ya be havin', anyway? Ah do nah recognize it righ' off hand."

She tilted her head to the side in a thoughtful expression after hearing his words. “Well I didn’t say we’d do all of them right away, but alright we’ll take it slow as you wish then.” she put on a false pout at the suggestion, one that was very obviously faked by the girl as some of her humor slipped out. It honestly probably looked funnier than anything, that meant there was likely no chance of Jin or anyone getting any perverted thoughts from her action, even if there were so many one could find with her words.
The pot floated around behind her as she was cooking. It was starting to look a dark orange, and the smell while unusual seemed a little bland. Whatever she was cooking didn’t seem like it was too tasty on its own.
“It’s something that earned the nickname Plomeek Root when it was found. The name we borrowed really seems like fitting given how its taste is. It usually grows in the desert so it’s a bit bland. Good source of protein though. It’s more filling then you might think, but I suppose anything with this taste has that effect. Strange enough I ended up developing a taste for it, always tasted better then tofu at least in my opinion.”
She turned around, taking a sip with a spoon before turning her back to the floating pot, increasing the amount of Rai she projected into the disc shaped technique under the pot. She mildly oiled the pan in her hand that she had offered for making something with meat for Jin. Grabbing a potato, and then looking around through the kitchen as she set the pot on the stove, letting the oil heat up. She found what she was after in a moment, using the cheese grater to shred the potato and make Hash-browns. She salted the dish a bit and focused on it, occasionally looking over her shoulder at the broth she was making as the main course as the pot floated behind her.

After the hash browns started cooking she found a bottle of tomato juice. Sniffed it a few times then shrugged, deciding it's taste probably wouldn't be too bad with the hash-browns as she poured herself a glass. She brought the bottle over to the table, setting down another glass if Jin wanted any to drink before moving back in-front of the stove as she noticed the increase in smoke from the meal. It always was funny how whenever she tried to make good hash browns the kitchen wouldn't smell like anything was burning, but there'd always be enough smoke to set off alarms, or even sprinkler systems. She knew every suggestion someone gave made them always taste different, but she preferred the problematic variant's taste over all the others she had tried.

After she finished she put the hash-browns and a bowl of the soup for each of them on the table. She then moved to take a seat. "Dig in" she offered, lifting the bowl to her mouth and sipping from it directly.

Jin sticks his tongue out at Lina is response to her sarcasm and faked words. Then he continues to watch her cook. He doesn't say anything about the Plomeek Root. He just nods and stores away the information. It looks strange, but doesn't smell bad. Even if it is bland, he's curious. His ears perk a little as he watches her make hashbrowns, but lower when he sees the tomato juice. He never could drink that stuff. So he gets himself a glass of ice water instead and takes a seat. When Lina offers the food, he thanks her with a nod and mimicks how she sips the soup straight from the bowl. He blinks, thinking it over. Then he takes another sip. Both ears perk again and he begins to sip the soup with an expression of delight. A little bland, yes, but it's different. Jin likes it.

She closed her eyes as she smiled a stupid grin at his retort.

She noted his choice of water. She had a habit of drinking tomato juice with potato dishes, but it was a rare thing anyway. She made a mental note anyway. She liked to try and remember the little things, because they always mattered so much more then they should later in the relationship, and she knew that her memories had been degrading, loosing the smaller details for good as time went on.

Lina was soon distracted and smiled a bit at seeing his enjoyment. She always enjoyed praise, or seeing people enjoy what she cooked. It was one of the few arts she had talent in, and the only art that she couldn't consider her own application of it being a science. The dragon in her helped the concept of focusing in and turning anything into praise however, her dragon side was what she considered the source of her ego and vanity, or at least always seemed to bring it out more.

"So, did you have any plans for the day?" she asked, tilting her head to the side after she finished her meal.

Jin carefully sets his bowl down. Carefully, because he's always had a habit of being heavy handed with fragile things. Probably why he doesn't carry dishes with him when traveling. Then he quirks a brow and thinks.

"Ah do need ta be practicin' Kaze. Got a technique in particular Ah'm almost ready fer. Jus' gotta have a safe place ta practice it. Iri suggested an open field wit' some big, thick trees surroundin' it. Some place Ah will nah hurt much. 'Cause, when ya firs' start testin' yer bombs, they do nah jus' explode. She says they kinda shoot off in random places, like a bullet out o' control. That's until ya learn to detonate at tha bomb's exact center, though. Af'er tha, ya jus' need space ta make sure no one be gettin' hurt."

Lina spent a few moments thinking something over. "Well you can try just out past the training ground. Most of the trees immediately around it are dead already, so worst you could do is expand the training ground. If it matters about them living there are a few clearings out in the woods past that."

She tilted her head to the side. Then looked back towards Jin, waiting to see what he had to say. She tried not to think of something, but it had been there out of the corner of her eye in the hall, just on the edge of her vision. The only reason she noticed was because she wasn't suppose to notice it.

There was nothing but the faint wisps of dust where she had seen it.

"Dead or alive do nah matter. Ah'll end up killin' tha poor things if they be alive. But if they be dead, they more likely ta topple on me upon impact. Ah s'ppose Ah--"

Jin follows her eyes and blinks. He feels something, but isn't sure what. Nothing definite. Might have even just been that he felt she was looking at something important. But it makes his ears twitch in an unpleasant manner.

"Sommat the matter?"
PostPosted: Tue May 18, 2010 8:43 pm

"No... it was just my imagination... that's all" she said, tilting her head to the side. "I'm just a bit Jumpy I suppose." She moved a finger back and forth between her eyes for a moment before standing up. She had built up a small electrical charge on the tip of her finger as she moved it around again walking towards the door, then shook her head. "Yeah, it was nothing." she said with what seemed like certainty.

"Hmm, but back on topic... " she stated, flowing from one topic to the next somewhat quickly. "so you have something specific in mind right? Just go wherever seems fitting out there." she tossed out as she stood up and walked towards the door to the kitchen. Intending to lead them outside. "I could help deflect anything if that would help, though the body hardening aspect might be useful if you're into that kind of training."

"I'd offer to help..." She turned her head around, looking up at a lightning rod right before the flash as the lightning bolt formed and almost instantly struck. "But... I think I may have my own practice if you don't mind" she said, glancing around again. "Best not to cause problems through me dealing with the expected backlash and all" she continued.

Dalcon's eyes jolted open. He wanted to scream, but held it back, he was trained better. Sore. He was sore, he could feel his augmentations missing. Something was in the air above the Rai dojo, but it couldn't be seen. His eyes darted around the area he was left in, right before green rai crackled all over his body. The inorganic elements had been removed, but all of his anomalies hadn't. In a brilliant display, he burned through his restraints, swiped the sedative, along with a few scalpels, and forced his way out of the room, stealthfully moving through the complex, trying to find a way out, to the forest.
