Tokeru smiled, and leaned over to kiss her.
"Thanks. I know i shouldn't forget my past, but sometimes i can't help it. I don't even remember what my parents looked like anymore, they are faceless bodies with names and voices, but no matter how hard I try, i can't put a face to them. When Hope came here, she brought a picture of our family when we were children, and you know the first thing I said? I said "Who'se the happy family?" I didn't even recognize them in the picture, i'm losing all the memories of my family, and that makes it even sadder for me. I remember the events, but I don't remember who was in it, or what they looked like. I want to, but I can't."
At that point, the female stalker returned with the glass of water. Tokeru looked up at her and asked. "Where's Jen? She off today?"
The woman looked and him and forced a nervous smile. "Yeah, she wasn't feeling well and took the day off, i'm filling in for her. Can I get you something to eat?"

She allowed her lover to kiss her, she would never deny him that chance, especially when he needed comfort. Edith just hoped that he took a fragment if not a spec of comfort in kissing her.
"You're," she said thoughtfully, "probably forgetting the memories because you let them pain you because you only looked at the fact that you'd never share those memories with them again and not the fact that they were good people that you wanted to remember. I did that too. Not with my parents, but with my Grandparents. I spent lots of time with them but when they died I did not want to remember them because it was painful. I never remembered the good times I had with them and gradually I started forgetting them, first their faces, then their voices, then what they were like altogether. Now all I really remember is what I was told they were like."
When the Stalker returned she gave her a warm, welcoming smile. "Thanks for that. And about my order..." She simply repeated what she had told Tokeru. "I'll have two veggie burgers with ranch sauce, a side order of caesar salad, a chocolate milkshake, and some french fries. If you have vinegar, you think you could bring some out for me?"

Tokeru chuckled at the expression of the female stalker. "Yeah, I know. Don't ask. She's not a health nut like most of the women here. As for me, I will have a platter of meatballs, and some rice please, just plain. And also, pour some of the sweet and sour sauce on the rice please."
The waitress nodded and walked away with their menus and orders.
"I just realized, I know almost nothing about you. That's kinda odd isn't it? Tell me, what are your parents like?"

"Of course I ain't no health nut! I'm kinda dead so in transition, I get to 'live' a little." She laughed, gently holding her collar bone as she laughed at her pathetic pun, she was famous for them in her family.
Edith waved a friendly goodbye to the waitress as she said a quick "see ya soon" to her.
The vampiress smiled at that, he knew almost nothing about her because he had never asked about her until now and she was not one to just start talking about themselves. "I suppose you really don't. I always seem to be the one that people know nothing about because I always beat them to the good questions so no, it's not really odd to me at all. Quite used to it actually."
"As for," she said with a grin from merely recalling her wonderful parents, "they are awesome parents. They are really lively, always ready to talk, except when they are sleeping or are going to sleep or are just waking up. They're really something. They were always there for us kids, taught us a lot of meaningful s**t. My Pops kind of babbles a lot though, and my Ma's a real worry wart and they both are stubborn beyond reason. That's probably where William and I get that from. Stubborn, dedicated, and determined. My parents are really brave and honest too, never hid much from us. Reliable, could always count on them. They're still there for us even if they have no idea where we are anymore, even if we ran out on them without saying a thing, they're just those kind of people, the ones that don't deserve to have their kids run out on them..." Obviously she felt really guilty about leaving her parents and it had been a harder desicion than she may have let on.

Tokeru smiled. "They sound like wonderful people. I wish I could meet them in person, and thank them for raising such a wonderful daughter. I don't suppose they know of the supernatural activities that are happening here? Have you ever considered telling them if they dont know?"

"Sure," she said, proud of her parents, obviously willing to openly boast on their behalf, "as hell got that right. They're some of the best people you'll ever meet. As for meeting them... well... Will said I sent a letter to them telling them about Lydia becoming pregnant, but I didn't. I have no idea in hell where or who that letter was written or written by. Still gives me a bad feeling... Anyhow, now they're coming to New York really soon since apparently this fake me magically knew the exact expected day that the baby's gonna come. So now Will and I are kind of screwed. We're screwed because our parents know nothing of this. They would just try to stop us from doing it, end up getting themselves killed. Both Will and I decided that ignorance was the best way to protect them, to break contact with them. But now someone wrote this letter to them in my name and they're coming here because of it. I'm scared, I have a bad feeling about it. As soon as they get here, they're such prime targets that it isn't even funny. Some vampire finds out that they're the parents of the NYH leader, then they're so ********, she had a mouthfull, she probably had her father to thank for that. He was the babbler as she had said and her mother was kicking in for her too since she was worried about the entire idea of them coming to New York.

Tokeru smiled reasurringly, and placed his hands on hers. "Don't worry, I can have my men watch every single entrance into the city, and I can make them shadow every single step your parents make. I can even pay the national guard to keep them safe. There's no limit to the influence I can command, and as long as they are within range of it, they will be safe. I am backed by very wealthy people, and those wealthy people are backed by even wealthier ones, and they all make their money from us, so, i'm pretty sure they will do almost everything I want. So don't worry your pretty head about it, frowns don't become you," He was serious throughout almost the entire sentences, but the last one was so obviously a joke, yet he did mean it. He loved it when she smiled, and he grew sad when she did. He never wanted to see her sad, and always wanted her to be happy.

She looked at his hands as he spoke, her eyes twinkling since they were about to tear from gratitude, excitement, and fear. "Somehow," she said to Tokeru, "I don't think either Will or I will ask you to do that. We don't need to wind up the supernatural beings of New York and have them wondering why the hell the national guard is watching these two old coots. Somehow, I'd feel much more reassured if I was the one to escort them from the airport. You know how you always see yourself doing a better job? Well, this is one of those times for me. I'm sure Will is going to be there as well to make sure everything goes fine. No worries, we can handle our parents."
"That's," she explained further, "one of the things I've been meaning to talk to him about though but things just keep coming up. First me having one of my ******** breakdowns, then me leaving haven for a while, next I turned into a vampire, then the Shadow Stalkers and Hunters incident which we just cleared up with video tapes happened and now we are dealing with the captured Lydia. Will and I, with both our schedules and the Jackson family's curse of bad luck when it comes to events and their timing, are not able to see one another for more than two seconds. It's just really ******** up."

Tokeru smiled and winked. "Even if you don't ask me to do so, I will do it. And if you really want to go speak with Will, we might as well eat our food, then we can go look for him. It'll be fun, zipping around the city at top speed, looking for your brother, we can make it a little game. We can call it "Where in the world is William Jackson."
As he said it, their food arrived. Without a word of thanks, Tokeru took his plate and dove right into it, just now realizing just how famished he really was.

"Why," she countered though it was not defensively at all, "do you not trust Will's and my hunting capabilities? You think we're gonna get shot or end up dead somehow?" She smiled, patted him on the shoulder and proceeded to answer the rest of what he had said. "I don't want to look for Will right now. I want to look for Lydia, find her, so that my brother does not have to stress about his Hunters, his child, and his wife all at once."
The vampiress immediately dug into her food as well, actually managing to devour her first veggie burger within two minutes, quite simular to Tokeru's little vision but much less messy.

Tokeru finished his food after around 10 minutes, and looked at Edith. She had almost finished, and he sat there, patiently waiting for her to finish. She had eaten almost like he envisioned it, but far less messy also, although she did devour the food with a great appetite that rivaled his.
"I'll be damned if i'm gonna be out eaten." he said jokingly.

Edith was just finishing off the last of her french fries now. She had a couple in her mouth, not soaked, but covered in vinegar and a tad of ketchup. She was a ketchup addict, but not when she put vinegar on her fries, she held back on the ketchup when there was vinegar. Yeah, she was a fast eater and when she was hungry it was ten times worse.
"I guess," she said with a chuckle, after finishing chewing all of her fries, "I'll be the one to damn you then since I definitely vote that I out-ate you here."

"Sure," she said, rolling her eyes, "that one fry made all the difference. The one insignificant little fry turned the tides. I am impressed with that little fry. Perhaps I should aspire to be like it one day, that is, before it was eaten." She smiled and rose from her seat, having finished her fries. "All done. Can we go soon?"

Tokeru smiled, and pulled her to sit down beside him. "What's the rush. Lydia is a strong person, i'm sure wherever she is, she can take care of herself. I mean, theres no one in New York that would mess with her, even without them knowing that Will is her husband, She is the strongest worman I know, present company excluded of course."
