[[ OOOOOH! SUCH SUSPENSE!
Sweet, you can have each of your characters join the spectators.]]

The Headmaster smiled at each when they approached, but his smile was purely professional. containing none of the pure joy he often displayed. This meant he was serious.

He walked to the center and turned to each, waiting for their nod of confirmation to begin. Finally, once they both reciprocated, his smile was of a man who thirsted for battle.

"Begin!" he shouted, then left the circle in a sprint, knowing he would be in serious danger if he did not. Once the actual battle begun, however, his attention was not on the participants but the audience. Scanning the border of the circle, he concentrated on making sure only teachers or Expert students lined the circle, ensuring no debris nor spells could enter the crowd. This way, Nicholas and Liriale could concentrate on just the duel.

Nic smiled, showing a half-smirk that lifted only a corner of his mouth. Then, without further hesitation, he sprinted past Liriale - or at least, where he thought she would be at the time - and turned just as he made it a foot behind her. He shot two heavy vines at her: one from where he stood, coming from the ground, and another directly below her. Finally, he jumped and formed a hill below him that put elevate his position once he landed.

If one were to notice the battle while not paying attention to the heat, he or she would notice that he took no steps to harm her. He could have sent sharp plants at her, but he would put her in no such danger. Thus, he resorted to mere entanglement, knowing that would put him in a disadvantage.

Jacques smirked at Nicolas' talent. He was directly attacking Liriale without actually hurting her. Jac' eyes looked over at Emma softly, they had once been like that during combat training. He had been so unwilling to hit her, but knew he had to. He stood on the edge of the circle, guarding the younger, weaker students. His talent in Earth magic would make him an excellent defense, especially if Emma where to assist with her wind talents.

Emma watched closely, rooting for her friend Liriale. Not that she didn't like Nicolas, but she was closer to her, and plus come on, Nicolas had a supporter in Jacques, her fiance. Wait-When did he lose the ex part in her? Argh! She needed more to handle, she really did. Sighing briefly, her eyes remained focused on the duel.

Ayla watched the duel quietly. She could see Tsuki holding hands with a boy she didn't recognise fully. She smiled, and looked back towards the duel.

Looking carefully, she saw the vines that had been aimed at the doctor hadn't got any spikes on them. Tilting her head, she thought to herself that the Dean obviously didn't want to hurt the doctor, and was trying to put himself at a disadvantage. She kept this to herself though, for the other students around her were cheering and shouting.

Noticing the Headmaster at one side of the dueling ring, she headed over towards him. "Excuse me, but once the duel has ended, could I speak with you regarding my classes?" she said quietly, hoping he could hear her over the noise from the other students.

The Headmaster was caught in the intensity of the duel, but he frowned at Nic's performance. Clearly, he was not using his abilities as much as he could, and, knowing Nic, the Headmaster could tell that was NOT his strategy. 'What are you doing, old sport? She will not like it if you go easy on her...' Suddenly, his thought process was interrupted by a small voice, that, despite the overwhelming cheer of the crowd, he could still hear. Managing a smile, he looked down, lowered his head so she could hear, and spoke.

"Of course, Miss Cailbrea," he said before returning his attention to the battle, and, more importantly, the audience.

Ayla nodded when the Headmaster replied to her, and turned her attention back to the duel. It seemed to be progressing well, from her point of view.

She reached into her pocket, where she kept her crystals, and gently wrapped her hand around one. It felt slightly warm, as if it wanted to be used. Ayla knew that if she used it out in the open, there could be devastating consequences, for her and for other students and teachers.

When the Headmaster approved the start of the duel, Phenia, with the help of Aura’s amplification skill began to act as announcer. “Well Hello Hello all of the university community! We are gathered out here for the opening of the Dueling Club, and to kick it off, Mr. Kamen and Dr. Montoya are dueling it out. Please make sure not to step into the white circle, which may cause loss of extremities or even death. Enjoy the show!”

User ImageLiriale tuned out Phenia’s commentary, focusing her attention on Nic as she felt the wind rush against her from Kamen’s sprint. Suspicious, she brought up her guard and quickly began to saturate the air around her, forming water droplets that encircled around her. As if justifying her suspicions, vines darted at her, she noticed the one coming from a distance and the second bursted out of the ground from under her feet. She quickly jumped back from the latter and once it lashed out at her, the vine entered her shroud of water droplets, which slowed it down as the droplets quickly encased it with water. With a wave of her hand, Liriale froze the water covering the vine, which in turn froze the stem. She then clenched her open fist, which cased the frozen vine to shatter into frozen chunks. Liri did the exact same thing to the next launching vine, noting in the process that there were quite harmless plant appendages, not Nic’s usually thorn spiked vines that secrete a paralyzing potency at the sharp tips.

“Don’t go easy on me Kamen!” Liriale growled as she began to build up her own attack. The remaining water droplets began to rise higher into the air where they spread out and formed storm clouds that began to pour heavily only on the area within the white circle. Soon the grass was wet, slick, and spotted with large puddles. Liriale lifted her outstretched arms, halting the raindrops in mid flight. Closing her eyes, she began to bend each droplet into small round ice cubes. She too wasn’t going to or wanted to hurt Nic…too bad…because he would be even more damnably annoying if he was stuck in the infirmary room as a patient.

The temperature around the circle became colder, even though it was a nice sunny day.

Liriale’s eye flicked open and at the same time, the chunks of ice rushed at Nic like ballistic projectiles. In the fray, Liriale melted into one of the many puddles.

"Well, we’ve seen a little of Kamen’s plant manipulation. Oh! Getting a little chilly around her isn’t it! Looks like Dr. Montoya is employing her ice skills. Wow folks! We just saw one of Dr. Montoya’s favorite water skills, self water bending, jeez I would hate to go wrong with that one for sure. Now let’s see what Kamen’s next plan of attack is! How exciting!” Phenia commented.

Nic's expression made no mention of being disappointed - he already had known it would have done nothing. He smirked at her battle cry and responded, "I wouldn't dream of it!" even though that's exactly what he was doing. At least, that's how it appeared. He had a secret weapon that no one would suspect.

With a quick motion of his hand, he raised a wall of earth just thick enough so the ice projectiles would get stuck. However, the defense made him blind to his surroundings, so he did not notice how Liriale could disappear. He looked around with his eyes and feet, feelings the vibrations of everything that touched the earth, but he could not sense Liriale in her human form. Going outside of the ring caused disqualification, and the Headmaster had made no notion of a victor. 'So then, where is she?'

Phenia's announcement gave him a clue. 'Of course! She became the water. I should have known,' he thought, remembering how she bragged about the technique once she had mastered it. He had always advised her against it. as it was a dangerous move.

Despite his knowledge of the technique, he had no way of discovering where she was. A mastery indicated a full transformation of one's DNA, which explained why he could not sense her. She had become one with the water without losing her senses. Suddenly, he had a plan.

Stepping down from his mound, he walked among the puddles and started to babble on, speaking quietly before growing in volume.

"...and then there's your night light, which, I believe, you still sleep with, right Liri, dear? I believe its in the shape of a teddy bear. You always said you never felt safe without it. Speaking of bears, why don't you have your Bobo with you? You must feel so very scared without him..." Hushed giggles spread throughout the crowd, and Nic grinned as his plan started working. "Your puddle form...it reminds me of when you said you last wet your bed...when you were fifteen, am I right?" he lied as he let out an involuntary chuckle. Hopefully she would lose focus soon, and losing focus meant death in that form unless you sprung right out of it.

User ImageThere amongst the other puddles was one that began to boil and steam. Liriale's weakness was being exploited and she knew her temper was like that of a female lioness...but...Bobo?! Don't bring bobo in this! Plus he is at my parents house! How dare he say that! Such a lie, I don't use a night light and I was potty trained early and never had accidents!!

Liriale, in spite of her plan, lost her temper at the laughter from the crowd and rematerialized. "Kamen!!" Liriale yelled, fist clenched and temper rising to a dangerous degree.

Chyna gasped at the comments made by her Dean. Well wasn't that just...unnessecary? Rude? Liriale rematerialized, and Chyna suppressed another gasp. Her lips slowly formed a smile. That was Nic's plan, was it not? The look on his face said so, but Liriale's scared her slightly. Being in the front row she scooted back slightly, concerning herself with her own saftey. Even though she knew that she was not facing Death, she was frightened anyway. Like riding a rollercoaster. While you ask yourself 'What's the worst that could happen?' and you answer nothing, you're still tentative about it. Chyna laughed at herself, realizing how much she underestimated this duel thing. At first, she thought that it would be a waste of time. Pointless and engery consuming. Now, she was on the edge of her seat, awaiting every move that was made and anticipating the win for the girl. She let out a form of a giggle snort at the mention of Bobo. She couldn't help it. Even though Chyna knew the statement was false, it seemed slightly funny to her. Chyna had no explaination for it. It just was. Like the sky. It just was blue. She snapped out of her thoughts and watched intently on the match before her. This was getting interesting.

Nic grinned triumphantly when she emerged right behind him, meaning his plan had worked. He could feel her mass with the vibrations in the ground. It didn't take an earth bender to know she was mad, however.

With the speed of an air bender, he turned around, delivered several jabs to her limbs, which paralyzed them, and reached around her to catch her, holding her close with one arm. Finally, he leaned down and kissed her on the lips, taking a few moments longer than he should have.

Finally, when he ascended, he said, "Yes, love?"

He spoke with a huge smile on his face, for he could not contain it. After all, they were his final words, were they not? Though he might have won the duel, he was certain that he would not live to see another day. Still, the feeling on his lips on hers gave him wings, and he felt as if this moment, though his last, was the highest point of his life.

Jin watched the fight with intensity as the earth vines were shattered in ice while Liriale became one with the water, the earth wall blocked the multiple ice cubes, and Kamens chat about Liriales bobo, her night light and her accidents. Jin smiled, seeming to be the only one that suppressed his laughter or chuckles. Though at Kamens, to say the least, romantic final actions, Jin chuckled to himself. It was cute, though he guessed that Kamen wouldn't last the rest of the day after what he had said. He had heard storys on Liriales temper and her weakness. Kamen would have to pull something to keep his skin on his body.
Crossing his arms over his chest, Jin continued watching closely. Maybe it would be the end of the match. Maybe not. Though, the hits on her body would paralyze her for some time. It made him think if, and when he would have someone to do that with.
With a sigh, Jin removed the thought from his head. Right now, he needed to worry about his training, his studies and his goals.

"Nicolas! You idiot!" Jacques yelled, nearly leaping into the battle, before a gust of wind knocked him 3 feet back.

"Don't even think about it, Jacques. You get involved, so do I!" Emma yelled at him, her anger flaring around her. The wind began to tousle everyone's hair, and form a circular ring around the warriors. She was silently daring Jacques to challenge her. "Try me, Terran!"

Jacques stood up, his eyes angry, but his hands went up. She had won this battle. He would not provoke her anger. The University could not handle two pissed off elemental masters. One, water, the other air...prefect compliments to each other.

She watched intently, almost cursing as Nicolas delivered blows to Liriale's arms. She was really hoping for the girl to win. He reached around and caught her, and Chyna raised an eyebrow. Was he saving her from himself? As Nicolas pressed his lips against Liriale's, she almost alughed.
"What the Hell...?" she whispered to herself, amused. This was just weird. First they have a duel and now they were making out? She just stared at them both, her mouth in the shape of a perfect O. Wind ruffled her hair, and she turned around until she saw the cause. It was a teacher and another, she guessed. Two she had not seen before. The male raised his hands, indicating he did not want a fight. What for? Chyna was utterly confused. It did not matter, though. Maybe she would eventually be able to understand her Dean's stunt later on, and why the other two adults were yelling at eachother.

[[ Silly Kamen. Now who made him do that I wonder? =P ]]

Though Tsuki was elated and fantastic and fabulous and ecstatic because of the boy next to her, her attention was snatched the moment the duel began. Never before had she seen a magic duel, let alone between two teachers of the University. Still, she kept her hand tight with Amir's, clenching every once in a while when the duel got exciting. Finally, the heat of the duel slowed as Nic began to babble on. At first, she was upset at how low that was. However, after she took some silent moments of considering, she realized what a strategic move it was. After all, what better to displace one who was using a hard-to-control mover than to utilize a woman's wrath? Tsuki giggled with glee at the ferocity of the fight, before she stopped and covered her mouth, embarrassed. She looked up at Amir to see his reaction, but he was too caught up in the duel to notice. 'He looks so passionate when he's watching a duel...' she noticed.

She continued to gaze lovingly at Amir, before she noticed that the clamor of the crowd had silence somewhat. Immediately, Tsuki turned to the duel to see Nicholas kissing Dr. Montoya. 'What???' she thought, not having known of anything between them. She was utterly confused. Adding to her confusion were two adults - teachers, she assumed - that started to raise of some wind and bicker before the male surrendered. Once he did, Tsuki's attention was back on the duel, waiting to see what Dr. Montoya would do.

User ImageLiriale was never good at physical fighting, that was usually a mastery of the earth and wind elements while fire and water focused on chi, or their elemental prowess. “Danm!” growled Liri as each of her joints were smartly pressured enough to give. It was one of Kamen’s specialty of incapacitating his opponents. It was done, the fight was over as quick as it had begun, Liri noted since she wouldn’t recover movement of her appendages until at least a half an hour due to the amount of pressure Kamen delivered. Wait! All was not lost, if she kept focused she could call upon the rainclouds hovering above to smite Kamen with a lightening bolt, or at least pummel him with hose like water cascade.

But when she began to fall backwards, her concentration was broken by Kamen’s odd movement. “What th-!” Too late, wide eyed Liriale couldn’t believe what happened.

Her mind went blank and the mounting temper was replaced with giddy happiness. Liriale was in a daze as a small almost drunken smile of ecstasy replaced her shocked expression. Kamen, Nic had kissed her, finally after all these years of waiting, her secret wish was finally answered…here, just now…wait…in front of all the people of the school…in front of all the hundreds of eyes. “Dear god!” Liriale went red as a ripe tomato.

“Well, that was definitely a surprise attack by Kamen! Wow, Go tiger!
