I haven't read anything after Brightest Day, so I wouldn't know.

Great story, was a nice way to reintroduce John in the DCU core and has some real great comedic moments in it as well.
Even though Peter Millgan made some miss-steps in writing Hellblazer I find he's doing a pretty damned good job with JL: Dark so far.

If I can find a way to read it, I will.

So are we skipping the riot all together and moving on or what?

I never said that. What I suggested is we finish up what we have planned because we've built it up so long that it's become expected. Finish up the riot, finish The Game, start the Blackest Night/Brightest Day; tie the Brightest Day into your time travel arc (can't remember the exact name you gave it), by having certain characters (the ones shot back into time) to collect specific artifacts so that Kroma (the Earth's spirit) can get back to normal. Then, after that, we can figure out where to go from there.
My vote? We stop planning events around the holidays because nobody's going to be around. That's the beauty of online role play, we can skip around as we please, if we so deem.

so personally i think the rp is kinda dead we should just make a new one and also i think there should be limits to how many charas we shoulod have cause there are just too many random people that were just made up on a whim

Actually, I sort of agree with that. That's exactly why I'm dropping a few characters. As far as creating a new role play, I don't know... It does seem as though this one is dying, but if we're going to start a new role play with those guidelines, we might as well just apply them to the current one. However, the main problem right now is attendance. There's not enough people.

I vote no on the new thread thing. We rejouvinate this one. We have history, and thus credibility of not only our skills but our dedication to longevity.
New threads are dying left and right in gaia. It's so easy to start one but to keep it going strong, that's a bit of luck and determination on EVERYONE'S part.
"No show's" are too intimidated and thus know they need not apply and wont, but if we started a new newbies left and right would have half of us stuck on the very first arc and thus the death of the thread.

Which is where I'm.... well.... trying to help.
I've never done the whole advertising thing. It's gotta pop but not be too overwhelming....
>_>
Ok, now about creating a new roleplay, are we saying an entirely brand new story and characters and everything? Or a new topic?
Continuing the story in a new topic could help to prevent new people from feeling overwhelmed while also letting us continue and let everything feel fresh, yes?
Either way, I'm gonna start by pushing The Game. I've got a kind of idea for a banner.

We could start a new thread so that way anybody who is currently joining won't have too much to go back through. I know that was sort of difficult for me when I first joined, because the original was (I think) well over 100 pages by that time. So my vote on creating a new role play is no. My vote for creating a new thread is yes, but only after we're done with at least The Game; because then we can finish and anybody joining would be at the start of something new. But until that time, I suggest we don't allow too many new people unless they're planning on playing somebody that is absolutely necessary for the progression of the story.

We're still missing the main problem... Dark and Barbara are still AWOL.

True. Not much we can do about that, however. We are intelligent enough to at least carry out the rest of what we have planned without them. I understand that they play many of the necessary characters, but what can we do? It's either continue without them or allow the thread to crumble waiting.
Anyway, a couple of their characters I would like dead for the Blackest Night arc. I'm not suggesting we kill their characters without them knowing it, but maybe we figure out a way for their characters to simply disappear while they're gone? We DM's have to do it all the time in any role playing game. While some of your players are missing, their characters are doing something equally important elsewhere...
