Luana nodded.
"So, do you want to turn the water on, or should I?"

:::She snapped right back into place, smiling politely:::
It was your design, you should do the honor.

"But I never would have gotten it to stay together without you. Really, I never would have gotten this by myself. Using the wax was a stroke of pure genius."
Luana thought about it for a second. "How about this: You take one knob, I'll take the other, and on three, we both turn it just a little, and when the drip starts on the hour part of the clock, we turn over the hourglass to check it by. Do you think that would work?"

It should.
:::She felt herself bounce just a smidge in giddy anticipation:::
And if you insist! :::Cora lead the way over to the sink, and waited for Lu to join her. She checked the connection to the focet to make sure it was tight enough, and when she was satisfied, she placed a waiting hand on one of the knobs:::

Luana put her hand on the other knob and bowed her head in silent prayer, like she did before every launch, but when she raised her head again she didn't start the countdown.
"I almost forgot!" She pulled a purple whiteboard pen out of her pocket, wrote an L on the back of the day clock, then handed the pen to Cora. "It's kind of a tradition my friends back home have. Everyone involved in a project puts their first initial on it before we launch it or blow it up. You're welcome to do the same, if you want."

Oh... a tradition? Certainly. :::Cora took the purple marker and found a spot next to the 'L' and wrote a kryptonian 'C'

Luana cocked her head to the side as she looked at Cora's mark. Well, I never said she had to use the English alphabet.
She placed her hand back on her knob, and promptly faded out.

:::Cora's body was stiff with a sort of giddy tingle, but it quickly drained out the back of her neck and the tips of her fingers when Luana faded. She thought for a moment that she could do it herself. But of course it was instantly replaced with the idea that she should not take the expereience of watching the contraption work away from it's designer:::
:::The girl huffed, in disappointment and walked to the other side of the bar to sit. After a few minutes of sulking and staring down their invention, she went and grabbed a glass and some wine, and skulked back into her room:::

*Luke appears, sitting on top of one of the tables, dressed in a t-shirt and jeans. He has sawdust all over him, even in his hair. He has a toolbelt around his waist. He's appears to have been arguing passionately.*
...No no. The Eagles have had their ups and downs, but this is their year. McNabb's been training since summer. They traded him from the-- *Luke stops and looks around.*
*Dammit. He'd just been getting to the best part of his argument.*

:::shortly there after, Cora enters from the guest halls. She's dressed normally, her hair tied back in a braid as usual. She instinctively looks the room over for guests as she enters and is delighted to see who's there:::
:::She turns in his direction, and her smile broadens as she comes closer:::
Hello Luke! How are y-

...what is that all over you?

:::Cora was totally lost to what he meant, and didn't feel like embarassing herself with a blank stare:::
Ooh... :::And she lowered her eyes to some of the dust he'd brushed as it fell to the floor:::
And... how is construction going? :::Cora asked politely:::
:::She searched his shirt for a larger patch of the dust he had yet to sweep away and when she found on his other shoulder, she pinched it off and began to look closely at the particles stuck to either of her fingers:::
:::sniff:::
:::She wrinkles her nose as it rushes up her nostrills...::: Ffss... This... is definately what's causing the smell.
