Atem's eyes were narrowed into amethyst slits. "So, what, are you a demon?" He asked, unable to think of many other people capable of dealing in souls like this. Besides, he just seemed evil. "I doubt I can trust anything you're saying, either way. Get out." Khalid glared slightly, looking defensive. He quickly pulled Ryou close to him, holding him in place. Ryou didn't seem to mind. "Of course he is. I'm sorry about acting like that, but it was just a test."

Kawi growled "A TEST?" she yelled "YOU ALMOST KILLED EMBER OVER A TEST!??!"
"Hmmm mabye I am...Oh I leave when I want to...So Im guessing it isa no...shame...it did seem liked you liked her...." Luci said "Oh well. All humans have to die somday..."

Both Khalid and Yugi flinched; Yugi touched Kawi's arm, trying to get her to stop shouting. Khalid scowled and crossed his arms over his chest. It would be impossible for these humans to understand exactly what it was for him. "I didn't know it was a test, and if I had, I wouldn't have done anything to you guys. But that doesn't matter. If I have an actual mission, I wouldn't hesitate to kill any of you." Ryou sighed, leaning into Khalid a little, resting his head against his husband's shoulder. "Don't shout at him. Nobody is dead, not yet." He said, frowning a little. He tilted his head up to see Khalid's face. "But if Ember doesn't make it, I'll be hating you. For a while. Maybe forever." Atem hesitated, unsure if he should trust this stranger or not. He had to give it a try. "Wait-- are you saying you can help her? If you can, I'll... do anything." The yami said, almost regretting the words coming from his mouth. What was he doing?

"Anything?I like the sound of that...." Luci took out a scroll and an odd looking pen "sign your name here please." he said pointing to the bottom.
"ryou.....I dont think if is safe to have a child around him....Kai can stay at our house" she told ryou.

"I wouldn't hurt Kai!" Khalid insisted, fuming, and Ryou gave him a dark look. Khalid quickly remembered what he had just said, about not hesitating, and then quieted down. "Well... I guess it would be better... But you shouldn't expect to keep him for a long time." "Hush, Khalid. You don't have any say in this." Ryou grumbled, feeling ticked off at his husband. "But, sure, Kawi. If you feel it would be for the best, then you can keep Kai for a little while." Atem took the pen, but paused. He was still suspicious. "Wait. You have to define it better. What will happen to Ember? I don't want her to get better from this and then have an 'accident' happen to her a week later."

Luci smirked "After you sign I will heal her. If she gets hurt or dies any time soon or later she wont be going to hell. Cant say if I know she'll be getting into heaven. Thats not my specialty. But I wont be collecting her soul."
Kawi smiled softly down at kai who was playing with her hair.

Atem guessed that this suggestion was better than waiting around in this cold hospital, awaiting some kind of organ donor. He skimmed over the paper, not paying too much attention to it. He knew this would probably end up being a trap. But it was for Ember. He signed the bottom, tensing slightly as he did so. "We'll see you later, I suppose." Khalid said, tugging on Ryou's arm. He didn't like their influence at all on Ryou. "Nice seeing you again." He lied, waving a little at Kai. Ryou was quiet, not really wanting to leave, but not about to get into an argument with Khalid.

As he started to sign he would feel a blade pirece his fingers. instead of ink he had just signed with his own blood. "ah well pleasure doing busness with you pharoh." Luci said tucking the scroll into his pants. He then put his hand over embers face. Embers body jolted before her eyes widened and she started coughing.
Kai whimpered and nuzzled into kawi who held him close "there there your ok...." she said softly kissing his head.

Atem jumped slightly at the pricking sensation, but continued signing nonetheless. When this was done, he turned to make sure the stranger was doing what he promised. Atem tensed, his breath catching when he saw Ember's eyes open. He was too stunned to do much. "You want to go check on Atem and Ember?" Yugi offered, watching Khalid and Ryou leave. "Or do you think he needs some more time?"

Ember gasped for breath. She seemed shocked to be awake. "I-Is kai ok?" she said the first thing that came to mind.
Kawi smiled "lets go see how they are. wecan leave afterwards."

Atem was surprised, but quickly went to Ember's side. "Yes, of course. Khalid didn't do anything. But do you feel okay, Ember? He almost killed you."
