Cassie, Jen and I have only been out a few times. It's not near that serious. I never said this was about...well...it doesn't matter who it's about.
*Chris sighed.*
I'm not upset about a lack of sharing. I'm upset that he forced me to watch it. And...the secrets themselves...I think they were lies. They have to be lies. After what I asked Billy to do for me...
*Shut up, dummy.*
Anyway, the beach is nice. I always like the beach.
*Chris walked off to look around a little bit. He headed down and stood on the edge of the surf. Saltwater lapped around his shoes and soon they were soaked. He whispered fiercely to himself as he stared out at the water.*
It's gone. Eros is a liar. You're with Jen.

Cassie went down to water right by Chris.
" I've always liked the beach.. and this place holds special memories for me. I... don't know what the lies you're talking about are?"
Cassie looked over at Chris.
" So... what is it exactly you asked Billy to do for you?"
Cassie was happy Chris wasn't serious about Jen.

He...just helped with some of the pain I was feeling. So I could be a friend to you and Wally again. A good date for the Snow Ball. No big deal.
*Lord, he almost blurted it all out. Cassie always unbalanced him. Was the spell wearing off? He had to change the subject.*
Where to next?

" Pain...? you were in pain. Chris both Wally and I care about you a lot"
Cassie sounded a bit concerned but tried not to make a big deal out of it.
" Chris ... I still........never mind. I guess we can grab something to eat and then head back. What do feel like?"

*Chris smiled slightly and nodded towards the ocean.*
Any place that serves fresh seafood.
*Chris absently took Cassie by the hand and they back up the beach. It was almost like before...*

Jen was still jogging around campus, unsure what reply to send to the text from Cassie. She guessed she'd hear from Chris first to see if he wanted to go or not. She didn't like the cold reception she'd felt from a girl she'd hardly spoken to and she didn't want to start any fight that she had no idea was about. Well she could guess it had something to do with Chris, but wasn't she with Wally now?
Jen's thoughts were interrupted as she spotted Doc Samson but before she could turn around he had seen her and was making his way over to her.
"Jen wait!"
'Darn it.'
"I want to talk to you in my office."
"Is this an official appointment with my shrink or is it as a close family friend?" Jen asked.
"Really, it's a little bit of both." Doc smiled.
Jen followed him into the Admin building and along the hall to his office. The door was still in need of repair.
"Come in and sit down." Doc pointed to a chair and Jen squeezed her large frame into it.
"You need bigger chairs." Jen said.
"You could always turn back into your human self, I was wanting to speak to both of you."
"We're are both here and present as one person. I keep telling you, plus my legs are too white and skinny. I'm comfortable as I am." 'There's no way I'm wearing a leotard as little Jen, forget it.'
"I was having a talk with Bruce and he's calmed down a lot since the dance."
"Could have fooled me." Jen huffed. "I swear I will knock him out the window at the Christmas meal if he mentions anything about Chris."
"How serious are you about him?" Doc Samson looked quite serious himself.
"Eh...we're dating...like a total of three dates...maybe four I dunno if it counts. I like him like that, well...yet." Jen wanted to say her geeky self liked him more but she didn't want to add fuel to the "split-personality" fire that Doc Samson kept poking her about. "We've just started dating, he's been hurt bad but recently he's been really calm. We even had dinner with some of his friends, Cassie and Wally were there and he was fine...I mean I did notice before he would be moody and weird, but now he's...well he seems happy."
"I see." Samson was in deep thought about this. "Are you making friends then?"
"Kind of...I mean I'm close to Chris, I like my room mate, Karen and Dani's cool. I really love Achilles...in a total eye-candy way and...eh yeah Wally's a goof I really like him, in a totally friendship way...but I never got to speak to him yesterday Cassie was all over him...met some new people yesterday too...eh Billy and...I think it was Theo...a sort of Hulk."
"Did I ever tell you Steve Rogers was wanting you to join the Wrestling team? He mentioned it but you never came back for another class with him. He's been wanting to see you."
"There's no way I'm wrestling!" Jen said sitting up and breaking the arms off the chair.
"You need to make some more friends and learn to be a team player. You've been on your own for too long. I think it would be good to help you learn how to control your power."
"I told you I got friends..." Jen snapped. "I can be a team player without the wrestling!"
"Would you like to explain more about why not?"
Jen secretly groaned, this was why she hated being near Doc, He always knew what questions to poke her with to rile her up. She sat in his office staring at the wall and trying desperately to think of some good reasons without throwing the chair out the window.

A wind blew along the beach of Hawaii where Chris and Cassandra walked, a wind that would feel somehow ... different, to Chris, but not to Cassie.
Down off the shores of this beach, a woman waded in the cool, blue waters. Just her very presence practically screamed the phrase 'mtaronly' ... 'regal'. She wore a long garment that flowed like the very waters that the colors matched.
She reached down and picked something unseen in the waters up, and slipped it gently into one of two small pouches she had at her waist.
Around her, the gentle breeze caressed the waters, but if the two teens looked closely enough, they would see that the water around this woman stayed undisturbed.

Cassandra Sandsmark received a text message from an unfamiliar number.
"You don't know me but I'm a friend of Wally's. I'm really worried about him. Can we meet to talk?"

Cassie and Chris hadn't even made it to the restaurant yet when Cassie got a text from an unfamiliar number. Which was a little strange seeing how Cassie was pretty sure she had everyone's number in school. Normally she would delete and ignore it but instead she read it. Something wrong with Wally? Cassie had a feeling something was wrong with him but was pretty sure that at least whoever this person was they didn't know about Trigon. So she texted the number back.
" Who are you? Where can we meet? Is Wally okay?"
She hit the send button and looked at Chris... this was kinda ruining the moment. For moment ... just a moment... it had felt like nothing had ever happened between them.

Cassie got a text back almost immediately. Whoever was on the other side of the line, they were very eager to talk to her, it seemed.
My name is Frankie and Wally and I are neighbors. I got your number from his phone. Can we meet somewhere? I know a place in town that is private.

Cassie blinked a few times... that was fast. Maybe she was a speedster like Wally. She looked over at Chris.
" Sorry to cut this short but it looks like something might be up with Wally."
Cassie texted back.
" Okay.. I'm headed to your hometown now."
Cassie gave Chris a quick hug and took off towards Wally's hometown, but not before stopping a store and getting some warmer clothes. When she got there the town was blanketed white in snow. She wondered what this Frankie person was going to tell her. Cassie landed right on the outskirts of town so that no one could see her and then made her way though the streets.

Yea, it's okay.
*Chris watched Cassie fly off and disappear into the clouds. Almost as soon as she was gone, the spell restraining his love for Cassie locked down hard on his feelings. It seemed Cassie's presence strained the spell to it's limits. If he just avoided her, maybe it would hold. The problem, of course, is that Cassie would notice his avoiding her. He'd have to be slick. The problem was Chris was about as slick as glue.
There was no point to going to a restaurant now. He didn't want to eat alone...and not having any cash didn't help. He had planned on paying back Cassie for the meal after answering that flier from Dr. Richards. Chris slipped into his armor and flew back over the ocean and towards Midvale. He had to avoid Cassie and concentrate on Jen to combat the lies Eros showed him*

Billy exited his dorm room with just a slight manner of difficulty, dragging a large garbage bag full of dirty laundry, until he managed to get it the entire way out in the hall. His parents would be here soon to pick him and Teddy up so he had to hustle.
He walked over to Teddy's room next door and gave a heavy rap.
"AVON calling!"

*Chris circled the campus of Hero High before drifting down to the frozen lake. He landed on the ice which broke beneath his weight. SPLASH! Good thing he was in his armor still or that would have been COLD!*
Well crap...

"Okay...I'll think about it Doc, how's that?" Jen sighed. She got up and walked out. "Is that all you wanted to talk to me about?"
"Well I did want to know what you wanted for Christmas, I can't visit without bringing something." He smiled.
"Um...just whatever, clothes, anything purple...but if it's wrestling gear I will rip it up." Jen pouted. "Don't spend too much... I'm not bothered, I'm not a kid any more."
"You were so much cuter last year."
"I was Savage She-Hulk last year..." Jen was feeling like it would soon she might just burst out as her more Savage self. She walked out of the office ignoring anything else Doc Samson was saying. Jen knew she'd have her fill of them all pretty soon.
She breathed in the sharp crisp air and sighed a relief. Doc had the sense not to follow her.
