Uh...
*Something deep inside Chris almost escaped his lips, something that was supposed to be locked down. He almost asked to be carried, just so he could be close to her. But Chris fought it down and the genie was back in the bottle.*
I can fly.
*Chris armored up and took off. He accelerated fast, leaving a surprised Cassie behind. She'd catch up of course but he wanted time to think without her. Eros wasn't a known liar...then...what a mess. He had no idea what to do now.*

Achilles felt the familiar buzzing of the cell phone and paused for a brief moment to enjoy it, then reached into his pocket (yes he was wearing pants - surprise, surprise!) and fished out his cell phone. "What is that?" Patroclus asked with a heightened interest. Achilles, proud as always to be able to educate Pat in something of the modern world, answered, "It is called a cell phone. It is a modern way of communication without being near the one you talk to." "Hm, sounds rather impersonal to me. Pat mused as Achilles fidgeted with the device, growling beneath his breath. Yes he has had the phone for a number of days but it was no easier t work now than it was when he first got it from his sister. Quote: " Hey Achilles, Diana and my mom are doing a lot of the planning for your guys' wedding so you might wanna meet up with them in my dorm room. Also I don't know how to get a hold of your mom but you should tell her about the wedding. Anyways I gotta an errand to run so I guess I'll see you guys later." Pat beemed with pleasure as he pulled the cell from Achilles' hand and shouted at it, "Hello! Cassandra? I can hear your voice in this... thing!" Achilles laughed as he took it back and explained, "No, that was just a recording of her voice. It is a way to leave a message if you can not talk to the intended person." "Oh." Pat nodded. "So, Princess Diana and Cassandra's mother are handling our union? Are these weddings meant to be so grand?" "I would imagine so." Came the answer. "And as for my mother, I have no doubt she was the first Eros delivered the news to."

Cassie kept quiet Chris was obviously distracted by something of course so was she. Cassie was worried about Wally... ever since the whole Trigon thing he hadn't been the same. It sent a shiver down her spine... something was wrong with Wally... something's been wrong with him. Ever since Trigon... Cassie knew it but never said it. The pair finally landed on the beach.
" Co'mon the bakery's this way."
Cassie grabbed Chris's hand and started walking with him towards a bakery. Once there they were greeted by a smiling face.
' Hi welcome to Selena's Sweets. My name's Selena and what can I help you with?"
' Yeah we're looking for wedding cake."
" Ohhhh! Well here are some sample flavors of the cakes we offer. You and your fiance can try them and let me know what you think."
" He's n.."
Before Cassie said another word the phone rang and Selena answered it.

*Cassie holding his hand was uncomfortable. He was supposed to be with Jen and she with Wally. But then free samples of cake were offered and he forgot everything else.*
HONEY! Free CAKE samples! For ENGAGED couples! Selina sure is nice for offering us ENGAGED people FREE CAKE!
*Nudge, nudge. Cassie better not make the cake a lie!*

Wally arrived at his home just as some fresh snow was starting to fall. All right! A white Christmas! Wally grinned as he fumbled with his key to unlock the front door.
The door was open, which meant his mom was home from work.
"Hey mom! I'm home!"
"WALLY!" Out of nowhere, Wally was glomped by a girl about six inches taller than him. She had long blonde hair and sparkling purple eyes.
"AUGH! I mean...Augh-lo! Frankie! You're....in my house..." Wally untangled himself from Frances Kane, aka his crazy ex-girlfriend and looked around to make sure his parents weren't tied up in a corner. Frankie tilted her head and smiled at him.
"I had a key, remember? From back before I went to reform school? I knocked, but no one was home, and it's cold outside and I thought you wouldn't mind if I warmed up before heading back home."
"No, I guess, uh....I guess that's okay..." Wally edged away from Frankie, who moved in closer. "So, how was reform school? Full of...reform?"
Frankie laughed.
"Yes, my teachers there said they saw a big improvement with me. Oh, Wally, we left so much unsaid before I left. And then when I got out, they told me that you were going to a private school." That's right. No one outside of his family knew that he was a superhero, going to a superhero school. Wally nodded and sort of cleared his throat.
"Yeah, it's uh, all the way over in Midvale. Pretty exclusive."
"I've missed you. I never got to apologize for how we, you know, broke up."
Wally winced at the memory of Frankie heaving rocks through the windows of the school at him.
"Yeah, that was....intense."
"And I want you to know that I forgive you."
"Frankie, I told you, she was just a dance partner for the square dancing lesson, the teacher picked her not me-"
Frankie waved it off.
"It's okay Wally! It's okay. I know you've moved on, and I want you to know that I have too. So...friends?" Frankie held out her hand. Wally hesitated, then smiled. He and Frankie HAD been close almost their whole lives, after all. Maybe reform school had paid off.
"Yeah, friends. Always, Frankie." She smiled broadly at him, then slapped her hand to her forehead.
"Oh, rats! I promised my mom I would text her-" Frankie pulled out her phone and grimaced. "Dead. You mind if I borrow your phone? I just need to send my mom a message letting her know where I am. She makes me check in every two hours."
"Oh, sure." Wally handed his phone over and then checked the cupboards. "You want some hot cocoa?"
"That'd be great!" Frankie smiled as her hands flew over the phone. She clicked it shut when she was done to see that Wally already had the kettle boiling on the stove. "Wally West, you are still the fastest kid I know!"
Later, after some catching up and a promise to call, Frankie said her goodbyes to Wally and stepped outside to walk home. She smiled as she looked at her own phone. There was information on there that she had sent herself from Wally's phone.
"So, this Cassandra Sandsmark is getting a lot of calls and texts from Wally, huh? Well, we'll just have to take care of her..." In the fading colors of the snowy day, Frankie's glowing purple eyes were like beacons in the darkness...

" Uh yeah...'
Cassie felt uncomfortable... I mean Selina thought they were engaged. She brought out some cake samples and Cassie tried the Devil's food cake.
" Wow this is real good... but why are all the cake samples shaped like cats.'
As Selena got off the phone she looked at Cassie.
' What? You don't like cats?"
' No I like them just fine I was just hoping for something more Hawaiian?"
" Oh.."
Selena brought out a book with different pictures of cakes and started to look over it with Cassie leaving Chris with a whole plate of free cake samples.

Jack found romantic relationships really annoying, especially when the couple was smug about it. The end of Chrassie had pleased him, because now he could boff her if he felt like it. Plus, it made Chris remotely more likable. But Pachilles...they were barf worthy.
In fact...
IN THIS ISSUE OF JACK OF FABLES, THE TEEN YEARS.
I barf my freaking brains out because these oily Greek dudes are planning their lacy pannie wedding, and they're so smug about it, it makes me ill. In fact, I'm going to crash their wedding, solely so I can sit there smugly in the background and revel in the fact that I, like most teenagers, am unwed. I'll also battle space aliens, kill thirty wild boars with my bare hands, and tie my shoes with my eyes closed. Don't believe me? Well, be prepared to be proved wrong.
Anyway, with that out of the way, Jack avoided the room with all the arfy barfy teens eating their food and instead took a walk about campus.

*Danny felt a sudden and intense craving for donuts. Which meant he would have to go looking for a place. Preferably onje that hjad blueberry and/or lemon filled.*
*He went out to his bike and reluctantly put his helmet on. It was one of the things he had to agree to do. The Rider didn't need the kind of protection that the human head did.*
*After checking everything, Danny started the bike, revved it a couple of times and started looking around, eventually winding up at the Bakery.*
. . . I guess this is it. This place or packaged crap . . . *He shuddered at the thought.*

*OH. MY. GOD! THE CAKE IS NOT A LIE! SQUEEEEEEEEEEE! Chris thought. Chris glanced around furtively and snagged a plastic bag to start dumping samples in. These bad boys were coming home with Daddy!*
Ooo...yum.
*Chris made fake eating sounds as he dumped more samples into the bag. IT'S NOT STEALING, IT'S FREE!*

*Luckily, Danny didn't get to see Chris making an a** out of himself. On the downside, there seemed to be very few people actually at or around the school to hang around with.*
*He picked a mixed dozen, paid for his donuts and a quart of milk before getting back onto his bike and riding back to the dorms.*

Cassie picked out a design she liked.
" How about this one...?"
" Nice choice a three tiered cake"
" Yeah can I get the first tier of that the double chocolate, the second marble, and the third strawberry"
" Okay and filling?"
" Let's go with.. buttercream."
" That's easy enough..'
" And can you make it 20 feet high.?"
Selena's eyes went wide... that was ALOT of baking but Cassie just smiled. It was her brother's wedding and she knew how much he liked sweets..
" I suppose but it won't be cheap."
Cassie took out an amazonian necklace of rubies and gold... there was a sparkle in Selena's eyes.
" How's this for a down payment...?"
" Yes! I'll do it."
Cassie smiled and looked over at Chris.
"Ready to go? We gotta check out the venue."

Cassie handed Chris a napkin..
" I take it you enjoyed the cake."
She giggled a bit.
" Yes a private beach. I just wanna check it out. "
They walked over to small tiki hut and checked in then they went out on the beach, it was quiet and no one was there.
" This is perfect! Achilles will love it! God this reminds me of the first time we came to Hawaii... remember?"
A butler came out and brought the two of them tropical frozen drinks.
' These are our speciality free for the engaged couple.'
"We're not...'
Looks over at Chris who's clearly enjoying the freebies..
"Nevermind.."
The butler leaves as the sun starts to set.
" Chris something's been bothering you.. What is it?"

*Chris remembered the first time they were here. It seemed like it was the last time Cassie and him were happy as a couple. This whole experience was disconcerting and he started slowly talking about Eros.*
Um, well...Eros showed me something last night. He claimed that I needed to see but...it was a massive invasion of...someone's privacy. Something they didn't share with me and I feel like I shouldn't have seen. It's kinda thrown me for a loop. I half convinced it was all a lie. But you said he's not known for lying.

Cassie lifted up an eyebrow. Did Eros invade her privacy? Nah! His mom would throw a fit. It must be about Jen... yeah that's it.
' Well... Eros is a god of love so anything concerning love in the broad spectrum concerns him. As for this person not sharing something with you.. people often have reasons to keep secrets sometimes the reasons are hard to explain. "
Yeah like her. Cassie was lower then dirt hell she was lower then magma.... She never told Chris her mom thought she should date other guys besides him because she felt Cassie was getting to wrapped up in a high school relationship or that she was worried some part of Trigon was still around Wally and she wanted to make sure it didn't come out. She never told Chris that even though she liked Wally she could never say she loved him. No Cassie never said any of things. But clearly Chris wasn't talking about her he had to be talking about Jen. Cassie looked down saying something pretty hard for her to say.
" The truth always comes out in the end. "
Cassie bit her tongue... the truth was always hard to swallow. She gently put her hand on Chris's shoulder.
" Look I can't say I'm exactely fond of Jen and it wasn't right to break into her privacy. But if she makes you happy ..............I'm......okay with it.. Cause that's all I want."
Cassie looked down covering her face. She was crying... why was she crying? She shouldn't be crying... This should be easy... She got over Chris right ... right? Cassie then used her arm to wipe away her tears.
" I'm... sorry.'
Cassie looked up at Chris and smiled it was clearly a fake smile.
' I'm happy for you Chris really I am."
