I know you care about me and all, but could you try to be a little less pessimistic about this? Please? For my sake, at least. Am I doing this to follow him? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. Will I figure it out by staying here? No, I won't. And I won't ever know if there's a chance that there will be something between us again if I stay here, either - and that is part of the reason I'm going. Not the whole, just part. Part of it is just that I need someplace to go, anywhere to escape this hellhole that we call a "quaint little town" that's been holding me prisoner for the past nineteen years.
You're one of my best friends. I can sit there and not be overly critical of the decisions you make - can you try to do the same for me?
Now if only I had the guts to actually SAY that to her.
Early August. I'm not looking forward to those weeks.
