"Oh but I do shirk them?" Ah it was ever so nice to play now wasn't it? Though she merely gave a little hmph at him then on his mention of how things had changed. "You like it and you know you do..." Because somehow among her little doings, she had managed a perfect balanced look for the place. Still was impressive, and not all girled up, but did have that nice 'hey this is an actual home to someone' touch. "Speaking of passing the time," looking to Kieran, "I need some more horses. Think you could help me out with that?"
"I'd say I more of...go on extended ramles to procure knowledge for the good of said kingdom...that sounds believeable." That certinally got a laugh out of Kieran. "I'm telling Lateef that the next time that he tries to give me the 'your paperwork is going to pile up on your desk and you're going to run me ragged' speech of his. "You know, be quite interesting to see how you plan out your little kingdom, though I assume you'll be doing it in a Lord governing type state and structure yes?"
Fianna shook her head. "Couldn't get the girl to clean up her room, or her fletching doing or anything, but she gets pregnant and he offers up a house and she takes it." Giving a little laugh. "Ah being pregnant...makes you do some odd things." Though a look at Kieran then, oh lord,planning...

Now why did he do that? He acted as though it wasn't a big deal...but in her mind it was. Magic was highly important, she knew firsthand just how dangerous it could actually be. But he just shrugged it off talking as though he didn't even need to give it thought. He did. Zykariel could discover his magic at any point. It was possible to stumble upon it before he was out of the baby babble stage. But it was Sevilin's son and Sevilin's choice regarding what happened. "I suppose. Just one of those things..." The conversation was quickly tapering off and they were going back to those silences she hated. On impulse she asked, "Are you mad at me...?"

"I never said I didn't like it. I just said you did it."
A grin at her, before shrugging at Kieran.
"I was thinking Lord of a city-state type scenario. My word is law, and there will be rules and laws, but other than that they live how they choose to. Once the Drakklin are established, I may see if they can either find roostings in the moutains by here, and maybe, if they are inclined, claim the old wizen tower ruins."
Or the purian penninsula..provided they try to fend off the orcs and fail before admitting they need his help.
"Doing strange things is one thing. but those cravings were downright crazy."

Sevilin shook his head lightly as he set Zykariel on the floor between his boots, the child seemingly taking wonder in sudden 'brand new' surroundings, which was really just a change in vantage point. Let him sit there a bit and try to get mobile as he often tried to these days, and of course there were the chittering and scampering of Nym who jumped down to the floor to join and entertain the little drow.
But his attention focused on her now for the moment. "Mad at you? In general? I suppose not. On something specific? Well I would have to know what that specific thing was...besides, since when does your pride let you care who's made at you or not." His tone wasn't of mocking, in fact it was horribly honest with that question.
"The word 'fault' implies that it is something amiss and not liked. So there." Aw look, Piper finally had her spunk back after three days of being a mattress leech. But a nuzzle to his shoulder again before resting her head there. "I think that's a wonderful idea A'mael." See, didn't need slaves...happy people under you meant for cooperative un mob like people. Then a playful narrowing of her eyes. "You say that as if you weren't used to me combining strange things." As if cinnamon...on practically anything...wasn't odd enough for him. Then again she did have that breif trist with ketchup when she still pregnant...ketchup on everything. Kind of like she used cinnamon.
"Sounds like a good base foundation. No one likes an overbearing ruler after all...causes revolts and so on and so forth." Yes Malik was doing quite well for himself wasn't he? Not that Kieran expected any less from him, he knew what Malik was capable of, seeing how the two were quite close in age. Glory was over and more constructive things too precidence. "Seems you're carving yourself a nice little niche here."

Her instincts jumped to the forefront and before she stopped herself she leaned down and scooped the child up, plopping him on her lap. Eili knew what was on that floor for that child to get into, mess with or hurt him. Holding the baby lightly on her lap, she avoided Sevilin's eyes entirely and shrugged. "I was just curious. You seemed to be getting more and more short with me. Usually I know why people are upset with me and it doesn't matter. in this case though, I don't have a clue." She shifted her knees a bit, bouncing the baby a bit in her shifting.

"Indeed. But I'm sorry, ketchup and cinnamon on caramel apples just is not something you should really eat."
But a slight grin at Kieran.
"Of course. this is my realm...though I wouldn't say that the glory days are completely gone. there are certain people that seem insistant on testing me in reguards to wether or not I can and will use force."
though shifting a bit, handing Malikhai back to his mother.
"although, you might think that you can get away with an extended stay. after all, some rogue b*****d stole an artifact dear to a water god, and thus, extra planar travel via magical means is nullified. Maybe we can work a bit on finding out whom stole this thing. and it gives you unlimitied vacation time."

He blinked curiously when she scooped up Zykariel. What? Wasn't like he was going to go running off toward the pretty magic...thing could barely get anywhere right now. It was that kind of thing that bothered Sevilin. Why did she have to pretend to care when she didn't want to? He knew the difference but Zykariel didn't.
"Well, I'm not upset with you...and I'm always short worded with everybody...I've just been soft on everyone the past few months, what with Zykariel around and needed the constant calm enviroment. So don't worry about it."
Oh so we're not going to be down there? That's okay. Giving Zahara another one of those noises of his and an indicrimate noise, little fingers coming to grip at the fabric of her top out of common place holding on gesture.
"It was good at the time, that's all I'm saying. Besides...it was healthy...kind of..." Yeah sure...okay she'd admit that was an odd combination and she had been out of her mind to indeed gleefully eat it...but it's what she had wanted at the time. Though she righted herself in her seat as Malik handed back Malikhai to her and she as easily as ever settled him back into her arms, that motherly smile instantly gracing her features. Oh yes, she was enamored and the world around her was shut out to an extent.
"Well there's always going to be people who test you long as you live. But I'm sure you know that already...and there's not such thing as an unlimited vacation, especially since Lateef knows about that planar travel restriction...and the elf is my living breathing calendar. Besides, right now I can't stay away for underemined amounts of time. Lharika, she needs us too, though you know I'm more than happy to help you out as I can, even if I have to come back every other week to do so.

Violet met violet for a moment and she stared at him closely then reached a hand up and covered his on her top. Such soft skin. Her thumb stroked the back of his little hand lightly and then she curved an arm around his back, holding him there on her lap releasing his own hand. "Alright, just thought I'd ask. I guess things really have been different since Zykariel became one of us. And now things are changing again." She shook her head. "Kieran's favorite saying. Things change. How very right he was..."

"Kieran's wisdom is no more great than a breeze. He merely speaks of things that are to come inevitablely." Shrugging his shoulders he let that go and merely watched as she handled his son, making him feel safe and secure in her hold. Yes, it was going to start causing problems wasn't it? Hopefully not too many and he could right them. They'd be fine.

Arthur sighed a little as he looked around the large arena he was standing in, the air currents were always shifting due to the magic use in here plus the way the place was built in the first place so the young elf had to find a nice smooth current to move around to his own amusement. So there he stood amongst the dirt and rocks, his hands at his sides as his fingers twitched to start playing; his eye scanned the air as if he was watching something that wasn't visible, that no one else could see but him. Then a small smile appeared on his face as he found the air current he wanted then slowly lifted his hands in front of him and started to sue his magic. From a far it seemed like Arthur was conducting an opera with the way is hands and arms were moving but when close to the young elf his arms actually glowed with a soft yellow light that can't be seen from far away; and the movements were actually controlling the flow of the wind so that Arthur can have more control, but with a little practice he could easily use this magic without having to wave his arms since he would be more distracted if he had to use it in a battle.
So as Arthur waved his arms in front of himself about a few feet out dust started to pick up with the help of some air that Arthur shifted around. In minutes a small tornado appeared right in front of the surface elf, and just a few minutes after that the tornado grew to an appropriate size for Arthur to control with no problem. Then with a small smile Arthur placed both his hands together and focused his magic straight into the dust devil, then in a quick movement he separated his hands and with that motion the tornado in front of him spilt into two smaller ones; now Arthur was moving both his hands at different rates to control both because if he dare stop he could lose control like he did about six months ago. So after playing with his wind creations for a little while Arthur slowly closed his hands and into fists, the reaction was the tornado's just stopped and returned to the normal air they once was. With a small smile the young elf brushed some of the dirt off his cloths, he believed he had enough training for now but then again Sevilin can still ask him to do more so he would wait for the drow's instructions.

"Time to test your student." Zahara watched the tornados appear, even watched Arthur play with them as she turned Zykariel around so he could watch too and kept her hands loosely wrapped aroudn the baby's tummy to keep him from falling or getting hurt. "Not bad Arthur but let's see how you do when faced with an opponent." She handed the boy back to his father and strolled into the arena then clapped her hands lightly. "Considering that in an instant I coulod have reduced those tornados to mud, you're really not doing bad Arthur. But let's see if you've really improved in the past six months, shall we? Come, test your skill against me. See if you can beat me when I'm not pregnant and worn down." Thus she lifted her hands and casually tossed a stream of fireballs at him, testing his reflexes and defense.

"Yes. and you know what happens when they test me. This particular person, however, insults knowledge older than his and tests my patience. But due time...he'll learn his error. My concern of late has been the human empire of Deep Water. While Jiscal is fair and just...I get the feeling that boredom begins to gnaw at him."
There was that look. the darkly brooding, almost evily plotting look.
"Kimmuriel kept him in a constant adrenaline high. every time he appeared, who knew what this master of chaos would bring, how it would affect him, and if he would live through it. I fear with this senate, this conglomerate of kingdoms he is trying to forge...that he will try to respice his life at my expense."
Leaning back abit.
"He won't try Domina. Her amries are far larger, and her power far greater. but here...he may think to test his saber. He already stated that the lands I have 'should be his'. So I am taking precautions. However, advice is always welcome. you have ruled longer than I have."

Cedric was kneeling, and Talon standing not but ten feet away, rapier drawn apoised to recieve and deal strikes, loomed ever so threatening over the elf. Yet, the elf seemed very much sure of himself. It was not arrogance as one might suppose, but merely a reflection of a distinct understanding of himself.
The tiefling was a swashbuckler, and a fairly aimnable at that. His posture left few openings, his stance but an extension of his expeirance, fighting along side such great warriors as Kimmuriel, Jarlaxle, Salmander, and many others who need not be mentioned. It is said, and wrongly believed, that Talon could stand agains these men. Given an appropriate time to train, say, three hundred more years, and perhaps he could compete with them.
The swashbuckler charged the elf, but not as directly as one would normally see or expect. The tiefling tumbled about the small battlefield, moving too and frow as though he were a gust of wind, poised to stike a ripple upon a pond. The fluid movements marked him as of elvish decient. The uncanny hieght of his leaps and bounds marked his demonic inheratance. The fients and deployment of hsi feet showed his yougth to be abord ships that were never trusted to stay where you left them. He was doomed from the moment his first foot left the ground.
Cedric is not a professional swordsman by the same extent that Kimmuriel was. Cedric knew how to hold his weapon, and how to make the various attacks that would be efficient in most settings, but he could not swing the weapon to inflict the maximum amount of damage with even the slightest hint of directions. He could only grace the common legends with his skills, learned brutally over his six hundred and fifty year life.
Fortunately, it was agreed that Cedric was not allowed to tap his magical tallents, which should have given Talon the necessay edge to win. Yet, that type of confidence fades ever so quickly when fighting an elf who knows but one rule of combat: Win or die.
The sound shocked the tiefling. The sheer cry of a piece of metal being batted with another, like a sharpe sting in the night. It was a short note, but clearly conveyed that the elf had been gravely underestimated.
As the tiefling's blade decended from an odd angle at speed which few could follow, Cedric drew out his katana, and slashed across the space where the blade travelled without so much as turning his head to look. The katana made contact with the weapon and clearly knocked it from the tiefling's grasp. It flew a few measures, and fell blade first into the solid ground. "Lightning Strike." Was the only thing that Cedric said, as a very dumbfounded teifling looked at the warrior elf.
Talon was silent, this was the first time he had fought Cedric since they meet, and was very much caught off guard when the elf had requested the training session. After a moment had passed, and the vibration in his hand settled, the half drow demon fell to his knees, breathing heavily.
Cedric had not adjusted himself after his single attack. His body remained poised, as though he was waiting for the battle to continue. Frozen in time like a statue dedicated to a perfect attack, yet his expression showed his displeasure.
"How did you do that?" Talon asked at great length.
"I practiced a single swing every day, since I first picked up the katana. A human may experiance a similar feat if he is naturally apt at weaponry. Since I have lived the lives of many humans, how can you not believe that it is possible?"
Ask a stupid question, get a very condesending answer. "Did you ever spar with Kimmuriel?"
"No." Cedric replied. "He killed my first master. He most certainly would kill me." His voice was leaning towards emotionlessness, and with those strongly empty words he replaced the sword in its place.
"Should... Should we try another round?" Talon asked as he rose, and retrieved his slender sword, checking it over to make sure that its edge was not harmed by the barbarous attack.
"You would be better off training with Roarke and the little ninjas." Cedric replied, "Or perhaps, if you wish to reclaim your debt from me, begin with Roarke and work your way up amongst the aged and expieranced."
Talon smirked, "What ever order would that be?"
"Who am I to judge who is weaker than me, but stronger than Roarke?"
"That doesn't help." Talon sighed.
"Fight Aven, Fight Sstrl." Cedric offered, "They are both wise and warriors." A pause, "But I most certainly think Roarke is a good teacher too. He doth know what light lies in the deepest darknes, and the hope to find it, only if he need be reminded of the goal through an illusion."
"What?"
Cedric did not reply, but stood, and walked from the training area. Talon shoke his head and returned to the kitchen where he spent most of his days, simply to avoid situations like this. It was very strange living in a building that did not float. Very very strange. Too little to do, too much time to do it in. Spoting Meilikki and several other maids out of the corner of his eye, he decided it was not so bad. At least the woman were nice.
Two year old Tarathiel watched the frey with mild interest. It actually seemed to bore him. He gazed about, and found Celeste where she was normally fawning over Cedric and distinguishing herself with Elric. The child was abnormally quiet, not crying enough for any of the comon folks' interest or understanding. The elves had a keen sense of magic though, and believed that Tarathiel's rebirth was not so much random as it was necessary for the former Princeling to move on with his life. The child was intellegant, and not very needy in any sense, beyond the desire to be held. He would only cry if he flet that no one wanted to hold him, with Celeste, Meilikki and Aella about, he rarely felt that. The first time Cedric saw the child cry was when Aella and Celeste went on a diplomatic mission to the Purian pennisula, because Meilikki had been consumed with business.
Not too long ago, Tara broke his ankle while falling down a set of stairs. He almost stood on the ankle, but realized that he shouldn't and quietly sat and waited for someone to walk by. He tugged on the servent's leg, and pointed at his miscoloured limb. She paniced and brough the child straight to Meilikki who puzzled over the incident. Sstrl set the bones properly, and wraped the limb with expert care. Tara had to be tied down to keep him from walking on it, despite the pain. He seemed to endurant to be stopped by such a minor injury. Celeste cried, and Elric frowned. Cedric felt the same conclusion. Why would a broken ankle bother you, if you could remember being stabed through the chest with a drow scimitar?

Arthur's ears lightly twitched to the sound of Zahara's voice congratulating him a little on his ability, which made the young elf turn to face her since he was kind fo surprised she had taken some interest in how he had come along ever since he had started with Sevilin so long ago, but he wondered what opponent he would be facing. But in a moment he had gotten his answer when Zahara came into the arena and faced him, saying that she could of easily gotten rid of the tornado's he had made but mostly she wanted to know how well he had improved in the past six months. That got a shocked look from the young surface elf, why would she want to fight him? What about six months ago when he had lost control of what he had previously created a few minutes ago? But it seemed that Zahara was more confident in her ability since she wasn't pregnant and all, and before Arthur could reject her offer she decided to toss a few fire balls at him. Instantaneously Arthur flicked his wrists and combining the water molecules in the moist air he formed a few water balls to combat Zahara's extinguishing the hot fire balls before they reached him. Then with a small. "Alright then fine." As an answer Arthur quickly 'picked up' a couple of hard balls of dirt and launched them quickly at Zahara while he ran behind them to use them as a defense so he could get closer.

Dodging and deflecting the balls was relatively simple as she used inborn wind magic to send them off to the walls instead of their intended target. The adrenaline began pumping through her veins and she grinned. Oh it was good to be back. She let power course through her body and tossed her head, before lifting her hands and shaking the earth beneath the other elf's feet to cause him to lose his balance. Of course she herself levitated to avoid the same effect as the entire arena floor shook and reshaped itself, the dirt building into a small mountain that she was now perched upon. "Come on Arthur, going to have to do better than that." Sending another stream of magical energy at him.
