Little noises from him as he was passed off to his father, whom got a long staring look that newborns gave and then a blink and a noise of recognition and some squirming before he settled, sucking on the thumb of one hand and his other hand's little fingers gripping at Malik's own. It's daddy, where have you been?
Of course as every mother, Piper had that little blip of worry anytime anyone else was handling her baby, Malik included. But she knew better than to worry, Malik was trying too hard to not screw this up and he was doing quite well. Thus with a little contented sigh, she pushed the chair next to his own flush against the other and sat down, more or less plopped over the arms of the chairs, head on Malik's shoulder. Oh yes, this was a very nice experience, yup could watch these two all day. But a chuckle. "You don't have people who wait on you hand and foot like he does. After all, you still feed yourself, he doesn't even have to do that." And she would know, wouldn't she?
Fianna and Kieran exchanged looks before they both chuckle. "Isn't that just like a new father? Taking all the credit for being the one who grants the cute. Eh Kieran?" Elbowing him in the ribs with mocking tone. Oh he knew what she was talking about. A certian someone was the same way about his own daughter.
A little noise of discomfort at being poked in the ribs to which he only shook his head...though he didn't deny it. "We can't help it. We're men, and thus so we must brag and show off, and even more so with our offspring."
"Give him some motivation and he gets it rather well. Though it was hard to break him out of that taking the easy way out stuff." Which meant completely revamping the way Arthur thought about magic...though it turned out that the lessons clicked easier once they had. After all, to elves magic was second nature." Though Arthur's only outward encouragement was that approving look of a teacher...before Sevilin's hair got a tug and thus Zykariel got his attention for the moment as he picked the child off his lap and held him in his arms, supporting the child with the forearm of one, hand of his other on his back. "Well hopefully there won't be any bad incidents.

So Arthur just sat there with his legs crossed over one another and his hands placed in the cup position he was shown over a very long time ago, he had gotten pretty much use to the whole use of the cup position and it helped him control his magic flow a lot easier once he had gotten passed the first stage. Now Arthur was focusing his magic to shift the earth around him, first off nothing happened for a little while the suddenly the earth around him start to shift and move to the right in a very slow circular patten around the surface elf; even small bits of large rock started to poke their way to the surface before disappearing with a few 'targets' back underneath the shifting dirt. After about at least ten minutes of moving the earth around him Arthur had to stop, it look a lot of time and concentration to actually be able to more the dirt as if it was made out of liquid, but he was slowly able to achieve that and with enough practice he would be able to rip bigger pieces of earth from the ground to fling them at his enemies. With a small sigh Arthur slowly stood up and looked towards Sevilin only to see Zahara sitting with him, with a polite nod to the female drow out of respect Arthur turned away and started to focus on manipulating the winds around him; he wanted to try a tornado again.

"That's really all it takes. Give someone, be them human, elf, dwarf, or orc the right motivation adn they'll learn just about anything they need to and in record time too." She kept watching him for a moment though her attention briefly came back to the baby as he was shifted a bit within his father's grasp. "You mean with Zykariel and his magic or in a fight between Arthur and I?" she asked curiously. "Because if it's the latter, I think we'll be fine. I'm far more up to par battlewise now than I was before and I've got a few tricks I can use. Besides I'm well equipped already." She returned Arthur's nod and then watched as he began to use the wind in conjuction with the dirt. There was a familiar move, the one that had spelled serious disaster for her six months ago in fact.

"Both I suppose, though initially I meant Zykariel." Who now found his father's bangs in reach and decided they were a good thing to tug on, making Sevilin close one eye s it didn't accidently get poked out or anything. "I know I've nothing to worry about when it comes to a fight between you two...besides I suppose now that you would find my worry just a nusiance anyway." Looking back to the arena once more at Arthur. Yes he was doing quite well wasn't he?

Malik smirked lightly.
"you know, I coudl have them bring my food and feed me if I wanted."
a slight grin, letting his son play with his fingers, watching him carefully.
"Now now. Had he been a daughter, he certainly woudl have taken after his mother's beauty, now wouldn't he. And he'll be quite strong when he is older. Looks of his father, hopefully the grace of his mother...he'll be a heartbreaker."
And malik made some small sounds, something like a blend of cooing and tier'dal. How cute.

"Zykariel? He'll be just fine I"m sure. The first sign he shows at having magic you'll have him sitting down and learning what it is, why he has it and what it does not to mention how to contorl it. I know you Sevilin, you aren't goign to let him get hurt through negligence." She paused for a moment then turned and met his eyes with her own, her fingers idly playing with the necklace resting against her throat. "Truth be told, I could even teach him if you can't. I know you've got a lot going on and Malik may decide you're needed elsewhere. As a rune mage, you're a valuable commodity to him. But that's up to you."

"You wouldn't be abel to be idle that long, it's just not in you." Nuzzling his shoulder lightly. OKay so she was feeling better but she was still a bit on the laggy side. But she'd be damned if she was going to lay around in bed all day, she had to get back into the swing of things. But a little laugh on her part. "Aren't you just the proud father." Oh yes, this would make for some nice reveries to come wouldn't it? Then gentler side of Malik was indeed shining through, not that that was a bad thing.
"A heartbreaker and a wonder quite in himself. After all, not every day you have an elf with three bloods runing thier veins. Think of the wonderful possibilites open to that kind of child." He was right, it was already proof that the double blooded Bridge elves of Andal could learn to exploit thier full ranges of both sides, now throw in a little more and see where the possibilites went.
"The flattery never ceases in these walls, I dare say it's what keeps me coming back, just for the laughs that may be gained. Yes, it was a nice moment indeed...especially what with seeing Malik acting as he was. Rather open, not caring of the opinions of those around him, though she knew those ears were keenly listening and rash words would not be tolerated.
Malik's own noises got another blink from Malikhai, movements ceasing a little as if to listen better with little pointy blue ears. Then some common place wriggling on his part as he decided that he liked the noise and knew that response to it in positive manner would meant more.
"We always think we'll do one thing and then in that situation we do another...emotions and onjectivenss playing into them. It's easy to plan what you are going to do, sticking to that plan is another matter entirely so. But I prefer to cross bridges as I come to them, and it is the same way with that. Besides, I don't have to worry about that for a few years yet." Giving the child a little bounce which got somewhat of a laugh from the child.
Though a raised eyebrow at Zahara. Why did she do that? Express that she wanted to get out only to offer something that would put her right back in the thick of things. Her mind always tugging in two places it seemed. "Like I said...cross the bridge when I come to it." Hey, Zykariel could recall these things now in his reveries...would do no good to have the child recall and agreement that never came to pass.

"True."
Giving his son more noises, before nodding to one of the passing slaves, who then sent a case out the door via large massive underdark bat. that would be the careful inspected and crafted jewels and the like being sent in accordance to the letter he'd recieved.
"that is an interesting thought. his eyes are more silver than grey. perhaps a new color for that trick of Piper's."
A slight grin.
"So, Kieran...Has your father finally snapped and admited what he wouldn't admit before, even though he was present at our wedding? or is he still in denial. At least your mother admitted that me and Piper were good for eachother."

"Or perhaps just because he's a baby. I'm sure your eyes were lighter as well. Either way, it doesn't matter." Hey even if elves tended to mimic one parent over the other, there was the possibilites that with new bloods beeing mixed but again it didn't matter to her really, she was happy with him. Thus reaching over, stroking lightly at fine white hair. Why was she letting Malik hold him so much? One because he desreved too, and two because she wanted them to bond, seeing as Piper already had hers established to the child long before now. Though a mere roll of her eyes at the mention of her own grandfather.
Kieran gave a scoffing chuckle. "Ahkallyn would never admit to anything of the sort, bonds proven or not." Sure he would give the respect that was required and make snide comments in his head, but never openly admit it. Hell, Kieran wasn't expecting any better from him when he and Fianna got married eventually. "Though yes, my mother is more forgiving...certinally his counter balance if there ever was one. I figure he'll eventually stop caring about it or just stop fighting it."

"Stuborn old goat. And I do hope that the brigade leader didn't take it too harshly when he got home?"
After all, Malik had promised to get even, and Malik kept his promises. a litle haunted and violent house didn't seem too bad. nevermind the slight rune altering that made said brigade leader a little less able to use them. He thought it'd be funny.
Though he did keep playing with his son, tickling him and letting him play with his fingers.

A chuckle at that as certain images popped into her head from Malik's words, oh that was rich now wasn't it? Yes indeed it was. Though Ahkallyn deserved any misgivings that were due to him really. He really needed to just relax. But her attention turned back to her husband and child as she pulled her legs up into her chair, merely watching both. Yup, wonderful sight.
"I think he thought it was funny..." Be it the situation or the runing that had taken place and well...rune mages could be hightly snobby to each other, especially masters to everyone else. A shrug. "Whatever he though, I didn't get word of anything being so amiss that I got hauled in." Kieran gave a little sigh. "Things are running quite smoothly though, all things considered and random childish squabbling aside."
Yeah he probably planned to loiter here long as he could until they kicked him out or Fianna dragged him back...then again he rethought that...he needed to be back in Andal in a reasonable amount of time, there were important things to attend to there. But a look to Fianna and a chuckle nodding his head to the couple across from them. "I think they're settling into family life rather well.
Fianna nodded before merely leaning back against Kieran in his hold. "Very well indeed." A little chuckle at that as she watched the two more or less fawn over thier baby. Though in her opinion Malik was most interesting to watch, all that gruff and tension seemed to melt off of him as he was sitting there, holding and entertaining Malikhai.
Something that was close to a laugh at tickling, more so squirming than anything, little fisted hands being flailed playfully in retaliantion of the motions before they would grab to his blanket, only to bring the nearest part of it up to suck on rather cutely, the other grabbing to Malik's fingers...or at least as best they could in thier passing. Eyes looking to his father, then over to his mother, back and forth between the two with those little noises of 'hey I know you'.

Deidrich bonded after Onyx, barking happily. Meilikki let home go for now.
Aella stopped for a moment, panting, and whipped sweat from her forehead. "Of course I am still practicing, it's going to be along time before I'm any good at it." She smiled and twirled her bow. She coudl do that you see, because the bracers were on her feet. Any time she wanted to walk normally..it ment taking her sweet time.

Onyx grinned lightly.
"My father used to tell us stories about a human that broke every bone in his leg one time becuase he was practicing with a magical item called a flowing black silk sash. makes your whole body move real fast. apparently he tried to kick a tree, and the speed adn force cause the tree to not only not move, but compact his leg and shatter it."
Though a bit of a purring sound.
"Training all the time though can get tiresome. sure you don't want to relax? maybe sit down and take a breather? I brought wine and water from upstairs."
Idly lowering his hand to pet Deidrich.
"Family life...hard to think about that here. too much going on. I'd be a nervous wreck to take him outside. Did you notice the new landscaping? I'm going to have to have homes and such built outside..with no slave trade, I've just got too many of them to support in here. So looks like many slaves or woudl be slaves are going to turn into serfs and merchantile types."
Letting his son grab his fingers.
"Looks like my son will be inheriting a kingdom, rather than just a fortress."

That got a soft laugh from Piper. He would be so protective and cautious as such wouldn't he? Though she didn't blame him for being so and didn't call him on it either. The underdark was a dangerous place, moreso for thoes that couldn't defend themselves. And walking around with an infant would be like walking around with a bundle of treats for the underdark critters. And another smile...seeing as his slavery was becoming less so of the word. Which was good. See? Her little 'let's take collars off' and other such little endeavours worked. Subtle was key. "Kingdom, that's an ambitious word A'mael," followed by one of those melodic laughs of hers, "careful, runs in the family to want to shirk kingdom duties." And well..it did. Kieran was gallavanting right now and often was, and Piper had merely dropped it all behind her.
"Everything will be fine Malik, you just have to be assured of that and try to take it easy. Nothing worse on a babe than a stressing parent around them." But a little nod. "Indeed, I did notice...in fact, noticed a lot of things around here. New landscaping, new interior design, pretty much a total redo of everything from before. I like it. Place just seems so much more...what's the word..."
"Brighter. Definately brighter. Has a nice homey touch to it as well...doesn't seem as overbearing anymore. And do remember this is coming from the one who's most uncomfortable down here in the underdark." Though a little laugh and a shake of her head at her daughter's statement...was it ironic how true that actually was?

"I am taking it easy. and yes, kingdom. rulin gover others in a non 'I own you' manner constitutes a albeit small, but still a kingdom."
A grin over at Piper, and a slight raise of an eyebrow.
"Now now. Kieran doesn't shirk. he just makes Lateef work for a living."
Though a look over at Fianna.
"I let Piper redecorate while she was pregnant to give her somethign to pass the time with. so it's all her fault for the way the place is."
a small smile over at her.
