BakaTulip Whoo. I did something I've never done today. I did shots for the first time in my life. Just two... green apple vodka. Yummy. *envy* I want green apple vodka!!!! Actually I'd be happy with any vodka...

SubHumanRemains i need a hair cut.. my hair is a total mess My hair's too long for my standards. But everyone says they like it like this. Bleh, if it were up to me. I'd cut my hair really short, dye it electric blue and get ruby piercings up my ears. Fun. But alas, I have plain, boring brown hair, and unpierced ears...

Moo, a shot is a full ounce of alcohol... a dozen would probably giv you alcohol poisoning... funny thing.. even after two shots of vodka and one of rum... I didn't feel a thing. A little dizzy.

A little dizzy. -shrug- I don't think I've ever had enough alcohol to ever make me feel any different. It's probably 'cause if I ever have a sip of something, it's always right after I ate a lot. The most I've had is two glasses of champagne, which isn't much. It was quite good, though.

See.. two glasses of champagne is the same as two shots of any hard liquor really... it's the amount of time it takes, it takes much longer to drink champagne than a shot.

But alas, I have plain, boring brown hair, and unpierced ears... sometimes i wish i had short hair... i like being blonde =D and by the way it takes more like 26 shots to get alcohol poisoning. it really also depends on your body composition and tolerance. 0.08 is the legal limit right? 0.1 you start losing all your muscle control 0.2 you start losing other body functions (eg. bladder... wink ) at 0.3 your breathing slows and your heart rate slows and your body starts to shut down. and after that you're either dead or at the hospital getting your stomache pumped. :p

No way, Remains. 26 shots isn't just alcohol poisioning, you'd be deader than you could imagine. That's not true... and while yes it does depend on weight, as little as six shots could end up being a lethal dosage to someone very skinny 90 lbs skinny. 10 shots could be lethal for someone 140 lbs... we have a guide in the bathroom. At my weight it would take 2-3 shots to be legally intoxicated. One shot is the equivalent of a beer or a glass of wine. We have a guide in the dorm bathrooms.

Well there was a story in my local paper of a kid celebrating his 21st birthday with 21 shots of Jack Daniel's. He died three hours later. Either he had absolutely nothing in his stomach, had a bad metabolism rate, or had more than the lethal limit for his weight.

*shrugs* people have different tolerance levels.
I mean my ex has has about 26 shots and was fine. my friend had 22 shots and threw up for an hour afterwards.
people are different.

It's not just your weight it's if you've had something to eat. The less in your tummy the faster you get drunk because there is little or nothing to absorb some of the alcohol. It'll go straight to your system.
I wouldn't advise drinking a lot anyways though. A glass or two of anything should be enough.
For me though, I don't know if I'll ever be into drinking except for a few rare times. Alcohol doesn't appeal to much to my taste buds. xp

Vodka isn't as potent as you think. I've had full cups (the standard red plastic ones, of course) of it and not felt a thing from it. It really isn't that bad. It has a strong taste, but it's not as strong in the effects as one would think.
(Bear in mind that I'm a guy, so what I can handle is probably more than you gals. I don't mean that as sexist, either.)
