(See what I mean? My strategy is obviously flawed. I can't keep up like this. I'm bound to lose.)

The Defense Commander was unphased by the unspoken threat. He was willing to die for the chiss. "I'll cooperate to an extnet, and I suggest if you want some answers, you'll be cooperative yourself. You came for more than just the planet."

When things were said and done, Elladan's fleet was mobilized.

~Task Force Zero-One~

Pride of Csilla Acclamantor Mk III Command Ship
4 Acclamantor Mk IIIs
Wayland Victory Mk IV Star Destroyer Command Ship
4 Victrory Mk IVs
Mandalia Canderous-class Star Frigate Command Ship
8 Canderous-class Star Frigates
10 Crusader-class Corvettes
10 Lancer-class Corvettes
8 Kedalbe-class Battlecruisers
5 Wings of Scythe Fighters
All Deployable Fighter Squadrons On Tow (includes Predators, XJs, and E-Wings)

Pulling just out of maximum range of the massive Pellaeon-class Dreadnaught and it's support craft, including a Revenge and two Stalwarths, Elladan hailed the command ship.

"Imperial forces, this is Commander Elladan Kenet of the Loyalist Empire. I demand that you lower your shields, and surrender yourself at once."

In the fleet, one of the Acclamantors detached itself from the group, ready to hit the hyperdrive once the route was clear. The moment the LT Transverter was activated, assuming the ship was properly protected, it'd have a straight shot to Sernpidal. The trap had to work perfectly, and the Acclamantor had to break the blockade and fly straight out randomly for an hour uninterrupted. It could work.

~

Fleet Admiral Akla grinned darkly as the rebellious fleet entered the space surrounding his Pellaeon. The pirde of his fleet, the Gilad was the strongest ship in his arsnel, and combined with the inumerbale fightes in his Revenge-class nearby and his two Stalwarths, he had little to fear from this rouge band of ships, he thought. "I believe he intends on engaging us."

The nearby captain nodded. Captain Dremeir was the officer in charge of Akla's command ship, like so many captainsin his position. "No doubt. Perhaps they think they can win. Or else they have some reason to try leaving the blockade."

"Of course. Order the Herald to deploy bombers, and have the Escort Wraith assume bombardment positions. Ensure nothing gets passed."

The captain nodded, and relayed the orders through the comm officers. "And the interdictors?"

"Have the Incursion and Tiamat stay wary. I doubt much harm will come to them." Of the roughly twenty five interdictors in his fleet, only two were at this coordinate. He honestly hadn't believed the chiss was brash enough to attack his own command ship.

~

Meanwhile, Mandalore the Conquerer arranged a smaller fleet of three Canderouses, five Kedalbes, ten wings of fighters, and another two Canderouses guarding some frigates. Manning the lead Canderous, he pulled the ships up just to the north of the souther blockade, near the Hapan sector.

"Begin deploying the mines."

"Aye Aye, mandalore."

Within minutes, dozens of LT Mines floated out of the hulls of three of the freighters, slowly floating torwards the enemy fleet.

"On my command, fire the plasma cannons of these three ships at those Nemesises. Engage them as soon as the mines are activated, and have the other ships hyperspace torwards Dxun. We'll begin part two there.

The Crimsion Sparrow docked down on a ruddy platfrom on the stinking home of the Hutts. A the gangplank lowered down from the old ship Luger walked out, a nasty cough issuing from his mouth. Haldir, a well dressed, slim Twi-lek with a short vibrosword on each hip and a thin long one on his back walked down behind the much larger human. The human hefted a bottle of some strong smelling liquid to his mouth and too a drink before taping on his ear were a small headpeice that attached to the comm at his belt was."Cusin, make sure our guest doesn't go anywhere. If he wants this person found then we'll find him."He said then cutting the connection."Whaz ah damn jawa doin al tha wah out her anywa?" He said looknig back to Haldir who was stroking on of his lekku that hung down to his chest where the other went around his neck as a scarf would."Not sure boss, but whatever it is I'm sureah heah. Sith happens anh I'm ejectin theh little creep out tha hatch."

They had been all over the outer rim lately, Nar Shadda, Kessel, Ylesia...Their small employeer even had them go as far as Corellia. So little twerp with blonde hair and sounded to him like some goody-goody rescue the day sort of kid. Sounded more like a jedi, but they were rare nowadays, especially out here.

The two made there way down into the stank-filled streets of this "Paradise" the Hutts called it.

((God, you're just itching to get the Sith to mobilize against you... No matter how advanced your production facilities... thats got to be 2/3rds of your fleet in one force.))

"Very well Mandalore, we'll be waiting," Borill answered as he cut the transmission, "Signal the hanger bay to prepare an honor guard. I want our guest to be properly recieved."

The commander in charge of hanger control nodded, "Yes sir."

One of the comm specialists appeared at his shoulder, "Sir, we've just recieved a message from Admiral Akla. He has been engaged by the enemy."

"Interesting, keep me informed on the situation." Borill answered as he stepped to the turbolift, "I'll be in the hanger meeting room if you need me."

(Advanced production facilities? I was under the impression Io had little more than a used car lot in the middle of New Orleans with hardly any new shipments)

(By the way, I posted some stuff on the new carrier I want to deploy in the next month or two. Go check it out)

When the Pellaeon launched its fighters and the ships moved into attack positions, Elladan gave the go ahead. "Charge ahead, when we reach mid range, alert me. As soon as all of those ships plus the two interdictors are within range, notify me."

"Roger Commander."

The starfighters from each fleet raced torwards each other. A few moments later, they reached maximum ranged, and began exchanging fire. Hardly any of the attacks hit each other. "Status?"

"The Pellaeon and two Stalwarths are in range. We're closing in on the Revenge, and a Nemesis is coming in to support. The interdictors are still ten kilmoeters out."

Now the ships were exchanging missles and lasers, their shields being hammered. Just as they neared the final kilometer, Elladan ordered. "Ceasefire. Charge up all weapons, and fire at my command."

The fleet suddenly became lulled as the shields took the brunt, and their fleet came under full attack. They were yards away... then.

"Activate the EMP."

~

Akla smiled as the ships suddenly stopped attacking as his two Stalwarths began hammering mercilessly into the other ships. The Nemesis and other smaller ships were already hasseling the Canderouses, and his own ship and the Revenge were ready to start broadsiding shortly.

He turned to Dremier. "Begin movement to point 47-1-". Just as he was about to finish the order, a loud sonic boom hurtled into his ship from seemingly nowhere. Every light of the bridge short-circuited, and the vessel came to a shuddering halt, tipping awkwardly onto its size, as the blue haze protecting the bridge suddenly vanished, leaving the command room in utter darkness. "Report!"

"Unkown attack, sir!" Dremier called from somewhere to his left. Alka reached for his flashlight to turn it on, but failed to activate it. It was fried. "The ship got hit by some kind of pulse."

He paled, looking out of the viewport. He could barely make out his otherships, in the darkness of space. The Revenge was a dull boat, floating in space, and one of his Stalwarths was spinning dangerously, its engines obviously failed. "How the bloody hell did they do this?!"

"Still unknown. We can't get any readouts on anything."

"Anything?"

"Nothing, sir. Navigations, shields, engines, hangar, tractor beam, nothing. I can't even tell if we still have life-support."

The human felt a cold, icy grip clench his heart. Looking out again, he spotted several wings of fighters that had launched from the Revenge and Pellaeon and other ships. They were rolling about helplessly, as the traitor's ships began picking them off with no resistance. In moments, every one of them were flaming balls of tibbana fuel cells and duranium scraps. "His ships are still working. It must be some kind of EMP."

"Possibly, sir." Dremeir addmitted, ahving found his admiral. The rest of the bridge was silent and dazed, staring hopelessly at blank screens. "EMP shields were operational before the attack, so I can't explain how they failed and we've been disabled."

By now, Elladan's fleet had surrounded his own, and were nailing his ships. The fighters and corvettes were gone in minutes, useless without their shields or engines, or even firepower. He watched horrifically as the eight Canderouses simutaenously fired on the Revenge; two of the plasma blasts missed, but the other six struck home, blowing apart the bow, bridge, half of the engines, and tearing the ship in half. Unshielded, ablaze, and dessimated, the broken Revenge hurtled downward into the stalled Stalwarth, where it exploded, and annihalated both ships. "Damn that man! I'll have his blue head for this!"

Equally fearing for the lives of the rest of his fleet, Alka watched as the attack broke apart and retreated. He'd been spared, but he'd been dealt a demoralizing defeat. His Revenge was gone, as was one of the Stalwarths. The remaining Stalwarth and Nemesis were caked with superfiical damage, who knows what other problems. All of his fighters and corvettes were obliterated, and even his own ship was plastered by concussion missles and laser blasts; the shear size of his ship had saved his crew, combined with the chiss' concentration on the carrier. The interdictors, he later found, had their grav. projectors blown to pieces, and his own ship's was a crater. He never discovered that only one Acclamantor had escaped past the blockades with contraband LT Mines, disabling interdictors as it made its way to freedom, but he did realize he had been spared.

" I can't believe you would turn on me like this. " Angel said to the bridge crew, after having been bound securely during a mutiny when the person in distress they came to turned out to be a Sith in diguise. " A shame, but you know we follow the strongest around here. " the Mandalorian said, blaster aimed at her. " Excellent. I sense much desire for battle in you. Once I present a captured Jedi to the others, I'm sure they'll let you have some fun of your own as a reward. " the Sith said. " Take us to these coordinates. " He handed the helmsman a datacube with a few sets of coordinates, pointing at the top ones. " Once we arrive at our little hangout, we'll sell her off to some hutt or something for a huge profit. " Once the Heaven's Fury began its new course, the Sith turned back around to face Angel at the sound of her bounds falling to the floor, and all her crew had their weapons aimed at him. " What is this? " " A ploy to get you to reveal your hideout's location of course. Did you really think it would be this easy? " Angel replied, sabers at the ready. Without a word, the Sith charged her, deflecting a few blaster shots that came at him, his blade colliding with one of Angel's. Unfortunately for him, he lacked in skill when it came to fighting someone who had 2 weapons, and while one saber held his away to where he couldn't swing it, the other found its way to his neck, severing his head in an instant. " I'm getting tired of having to hurt and kill people even younger than I am. This one's barely... 15 maybe? " The corpse was soon disposed of and the crew prepared for the battle they felt they were going to be in upon arrival.

While Elladan made sure his Acclamantor filled with hardware broke through the blockades on route to the laregly uncharted regions of space, Mandalore the Conquerer and Mynock Ordo watched through his plan to disable the blockade entirely. As long as his empire lacked the resources, he could never survive long against these Sith.

Their best hopes, thus lie in both strangling their enemies' resources while increasing their own. Contruum's navay yards had yet to been untilized, however, they were still well defended from an attack, armed with a 'sector fleet' of ten Canderouses, twenty Kedalbe, and dozens of other ships, and was in about as much danger of falling as Mandalore itself. Since Mandalore and Wayland were proving not enough to pose enough threat to the Empire, and Taris was under reconstruction for the next two weeks and now the most secure planet in their space, they had to bring Contruum online. As of that morning, he orderded construction began on more extnesive defenses, XQ-2 Space stations, and orbital defense platforms as well as ion cannons and magpulse cannons to prevent another Taris-incident from occuring. In a week, they'd be ready to start constructing support craft and fighter, and in the next Canderouses.

Thus, Mandalore's mission to the lower blockade: his LT mines, designed to erupt on impact and knock out what they wanted, floated torwards the large cluster of enemy ships, which included an Interdictor, three Stalwarths, and a Nemesis, plus their support craft. They were already scrambling to defend and likely eliminate the incoming ships, when the lead Canderous fired on the farthest mine and set it off. Immediately, power was knock off far out of their range, but not the ship's far missle system. The five large ships and their little friends immediately shut down, some ramming into each other without the help of their engines or shields, leaving little for the other ships to do but watch.

Once the gap of space was clear, and the blockade disabled, Mynock Ordo, two Canderouses, and a flight of transports, all bound for Dxun.

~

Under orders from Overlord Mynock and Mandalore the Conquerer himself, the base at Dxun scrambled their considerable forces, while their interim leader, Lord Syst, met with the military leaders of Onderon.

"What do our friends at Wayland and Mandalore want us to do?" Queen Jetilla asked in an informal conference room at the Sky Palace. The meeting itself was only between the queen, her commander-in-chief, and the Mandalorian general.

"It's about time to end this blockade of ours," Syst answered in a no-nonsense voice. "Overlord Mynock is returning with reinforcements, and wants our help clearing the space between Dxun and Contruum."

"What does that require of us?" Olin inquired.

"We need to secure the worlds of Tanaab, Vena, and Donovia. This can be done if we can enlist the help of the Hapes Consortium. Their distrust for the Empire is high, and threatend with blockades along their trade routes, would be willing to help us, if we could convince them. Their fleets are strong, and combined with us, we can stabilize the space between here and Elladan."

"What would you have us do then?" Zeltilla asked, taking a sip from a cup of Onderonian coffee.

"My fleets are ready," the Lord replied. "We have five Canderous-class cruisers, ten Kedalbe-destroyers, and dozens of Crusaders and Gladiators, plus Mandalore's entourage of three Canderouses and his transports filled with LT mines."

"LT mines?" the guard commander asked.

"Based on the Transverter, but more a defense than a weapon. We plan on launching a few torwards their ships, hitting them with lasers or missles, and wiping out what ships they have."

"Ah. In that case, we can commit three wings of CF9 Crossfires and Scimitar Assault Bombers, twenty Lancer frigates, a pair of confiscated Wombats, and a dozen dreadnaughts. Will that be enough?"

"It's better than nothing," Syst answered truthfully. Suddenly his comlink beeped; Mynock Ordo was returned. He looked up. "It's time."

As the situation on centares became more and more hostile, Seto was finally ready to leave the system. He'd never really contemplated taking the system; that was just what the Empire saw, and was mobilizing against. He, however, didn't want another sector fleet breathing down his neck, so he simply reorganized his new reinforcements with his existing fleet and prepared to leave to meet up with the Acclamantor in the Unknown Regions north of Telos.

"Has the proper information been planted into the Imperial intelligence network?" he asked. He was referring to the copied holoproj of the Sith attack on the Imperial Palace.

"Done," the Dathomiri witch knight answered him, her padawan at her side. "As ordered, we secured the data into the local holonet feed, and then planted it into the hands of the local comm center. Already, they've started spreading the word."

"Good. Prepare to leave." As they left the bridge of his Canderous, the Overlord turned to his first-officer. "Engage."

A few moments later, and the surrounding stars transformed into lines of light as the fleet retreated, leaving Centares alone.

((Stridents? You have no idea what they are do you... They're the New Republic equivalent of a Executor-class Star Dreadnaught. They are HUGE!!! There is no way you have the resources on a moon (Dxun) to maintain and utilize ships of that calibar. Something smaller would be a good idea.))

Borill stood stiffly in the hanger bay of his ship as the Mandalorian Assault Transport came to a stop on the polished floor. As the hatch hissed open the troops snapped to attention. Three Mandalorians stepped into view, the same three that had appeared in his hotel suite just a few weeks ago.

Borill stepped forward and nodded to the three, "Mandalore, it's nice of you to join me... We must discuss Elladan Kenet's deistruction."

(Actually, it doesn't say much about a Strident, other than it being a Star Defender. The other Star Defender, the Viscounts, are much larger. If A Star Defender is parrallel to Super Star Destroyers, then OK. Otherwise, it didn't really tell me much)
PostPosted: Sat Oct 21, 2006 10:22 pm

((New Republic naming conventions differ from the Galactic Empire only at one point. Their term for Star Battlecruisers and Star Dreadnaughts is a single catchall term. Star Defender. Which means that a Strident has at least enough firepower to easily engage a Vengeance-class Star Battlecruiser and would be capable of taking down an Executor-class Star Dreadnaught singlehandedly. Super star destroyer is slang for any vessel thats a Star Cruiser or larger. Though it most often is used to refer to Star Battlecruisers and Star Dreadnaughts.))

((stellar you get way too into the nomenclature of ships my friend.))

"And that, your majesty, is why we need to stay strong against this coming threat!" Vaan concluded as he stood in a raised platform in the Hapes Consolidated Legislature.

"Very well, I will think this over," Queen Mother Elana Djo replied, as she and her attendants filed through the door on their side of the chamber.

An escort guided Vaan and Ashe out the door, and as they returned to their ships, a panicked signal came down onto Vaan's commlink.

Through the static, he could distinctly hear Seifer's broken words: "...st....St...hawk......cont..ctng....the...Emp...and....Sith."

Then there was the sound of blasterfire and a loud thud.

When they returned outside, Vaan glanced at the sky.

The Stormhawk was gone.

Haldir made his way into one cantina as his boss Luger kept his way down the street. The twi'lek made his way over to the bar and taped on it using the metal of his bracer-guards to get the barkeeps attention. Human, but he looked worse enough for wear he could have been some other similiar race. he grumbled and walked on over."Yea what'da want blueboy?"He said to Haldir rudely. Out of the side of his pointed ear he heard something liken to a grown man drawing tears openingly and begging someone as it seemed but he fleck it aside."Yes, I'm looking for a human, blonde, young by sight, quick by size and build. Quite as well." He barkeep brought an earbrow up and eyed the Twi'lek who looked far to finely dressed to have come from around here and looked upwards and stoked his ill-shaved chin, probably the worst shave in the galaxy. He shoke his head."An't sound like anyone from round here, not but maybe Slick and he was offed last week."Heldir sighed and took a seat on a stool, he might as well start his search off with a drink, Luger was prolly piss drunk by now."Something nice and light, in a clean glass if you can."The twi'lek said stroking one of his lekku and looking about the establishment. He found the source of the weeping and sighed and took a silent sorry for the man as he begged this guy for help. He turned when something was set down infront of him, a clean enough glass and didn't smell too bad, he took a sip and found it good enough. The cantina wasn't all that filled for the time and day it was, but then you never know how many of the regulars are gonna be around for long in these parts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luger grunted as he pulled a cigar from his coat pocket, seting it between his teeth to hold it before lighting it. The scent filled his nose, releiveing him of the worlds stench if only for a bit. He pulled it between to of his weathered fingers and exhaled the sweet smoke up into the night as he raised his head and leaned back againest the wall front to some building."What tha hell is with dis damned age. Jedi lookin like stormies, Jawa out of there place speakin baisc, and now on some hunt for sum kid? What the hell..."He placed the cigar back in his mouth and looked around, he always hated this place, smelly and too much swampland, but then thats what most people found wrong with this place....
