(Chuuuuur. *rolls dice* 4! I should have known. Did you know that four is a cursed number in Japanese? Shi, the word for four, is also a homophone for the word meaning death.
Here's how this is going to work. The next person to post will roll one four-sided die. 1 means that the group either changes direction or Kurushimi is directed elsewhere, and completely misses them. The danger is over. 2 means that the group passes near Kurushimi close enough to be in danger, but far enough that he doesn't see them immediately. If Kurushimi rolls a perfect 8 with two-four sided dice, he will ambush the group. 3 means that the group is passing very near Kurushimi, and that if he rolls above a five on his next post with two-four sided dice, he will ambush the group. 4 means that the group is passing right in front of Kurushimi's face, and that danger is imminent. If Kurushimi rolls over a three, he will ambush the group.
To add a little element of suspense and surprise. twisted )
In the twilight, the denizens of Domino City stir. And not the denizens of the natural type, either. No, these were shadow beasts, one of the many forms Shadowed Ones forces could take.
One particular shadow beast stood higher than all of the rest, his many claws and horns being considerably longer than most. Standing a full six-feet at his shoulder, this being was one of the most formidible and intellegent of the Shadow Beasts in this area.
His name? Kurushimi.
Kurushimi awoke in twilight, lived his life in darkness. His crimson eyes were ever watching during these times, and sometimes even during the day he found himself unable to sleep because of the thrill of the eminent hunt.
But now his opportunity was fast approaching. A voice whispered in his mind not ten seconds ago: The son of Ra is approaching from your south, a distance away. Be alert, and don't fail this time!
So now Kurushimi watched and waited for his chance. Would his victims wander into his trap, or would they manage to evade him yet again?
Malik noticed the tension in the air surrounding him. "What, did someone see a ghost?" It wasn't until after he said it that he realized that, in front of Pharaoh at least, this joke was a little more literal than he would have liked. "Err..Sorry." But he as well was nervous. Was something watching them, or was it his imagination?
( Happy 1200th post! biggrin

"It's alright, really." Yami smiled, but he too felt uneasy. His shadow powers were still pretty strong, so he could pick up on the slightest disturbance. Ghosts, whatever. Or anything that could potentially kill them. "But something is definitely off here..."

(Oh noes.
A 6! The group is safe.) Kurushimi could sense humans. Surely they were near...If He had sent him a message, this must be the group in question.
The creature stood, snarling. Foot-steps were approaching from down the street he was watching. Coming closer...and closer...and closer.. Now!
The shadow creature screamed, hurtling around the corner and ambushing it's prey. But it wasn't the Pharaoh's group. For now, they were safe.
Malik peered around anxiously, watching for muggers or murderers, supernatural or not. He saw nothing, but simply couldn't force himself to relax. "I think we should have made Bakura or Yami Malik come. They're scarier than anything we'd see out here." Hopefully.

Ryou frowned at their statements and looked around cautiously and slowly. He knew he had felt something. His stomach still twisted in a knot, making him wince slightly and pull his shoulders into himself, trying not to make an obvious notion that he felt ill.
"Maybe...maybe we're all just a little on end..." He said, as though trying to reassure himself, not mainly focused towards the others. His brown eyes shifted from the ground and to the side, watching the empty area, a few people passed. He could have sworn he saw something, and not something that was what you saw everyday.
He looked away quickly and back to the others. "We're almost...there." His voice grew softer and quieter and he seemed to slow down a bit to now be near the two and not in front of them.
((Haha...I wasn't sure if I was supposed to roll or not? So I did. ^^;; ))

(Yay we're safe. Kind of creepy that Miss Jiffy and I both got a 2 ^^; )
"But the question is would they have come? You know they both hate my guts and while you two would be safe from them, I have a feeling I'd be at more risk from those two than anything out there." Yami replied, although he knew it was false. He had a really bad feeling about this mystery being. "But I still have a bad feeling about this..."

"Well, good point. But I don't think they'd attack you while we were here- They like to think that they're sneaky and don't like to leave witnesses. And thank god we're close." A grocery store would be a safe place, right? There's usually a lot of people in them. They surely wouldn't risk exposing themselves, whatever 'they' were.
Malik simply walked along, trying to keep from deflating under the pressure of his nervousness. Appearing small just made yourself a bigger target, or at least that's what the Egyptian thought.
(Eh, it doesn't matter, really. Only one person was supposed to roll, but it's not that big of a deal. 3nodding )
