__penguin__ OH MY GOSH. My sax is COMPLETELY broken. The key below the G key won't close right, and it makes it so I can't play at ALL. Grrrr! I don't even know it happened! Now I have to use a school horn. My poor instrument. crying Sadness

Wheee! Every cloud does have a silver lining!
I had been having to use one of the school's really crappy old Vitos, but the school just got a really nice, shiny new Yamaha and they're going to let me use it 'till mine's out of the shop! biggrin I kinda like it better than my own horn... but don't tell it that. ninja

Hahah i remember using a brand new horn in highschool but flash forward eight years and it's been decimated by poor useage crying

Humori n______n Hello there. I'm new to this section. I'm a new tenor sax player. =o I used to play the flute. Any tips for a new sax player? whee Dont puff your cheeks blow from your diaphragm and keep your hands as close to the keys as you can.

It's in a song we play in jazz band called Us (our BD says it was pretty well-known like a million years ago). Unfortunatelly I don't have a recording of us playing it (no pun intended whee ) but here's the link to a professional recording. The soli is at like 2:00 and includes alto, tenor, and bari sax. Listen to the awesomeness. Here's another awesome song we play from that publisher (again them not us). I like our tenor's solo better than that one, though.

yay.
thursday in private lessons i leard how to play the bis key on my sax.
and also, this year, our school is giving everyone the oppurtunity to move up. We just have to play the songs they give us and we can move up.
im going to get into symphonic
