It was a humbling and terrifying experience to watch a building you were currently occupying fall to ruin with you still inside. De summoning Tenya so he could run faster, Otto began running for the portal.
Rubble and monster bits would never get in Otto's way. He did this as a living; escaping certain death. He launched himself over fallen debris and into the portal without even thinking about it.
What waited for him beyond was less than comforting, and made him lock himself in his bathroom in a hot bath for the remainder of the night.

Roland had spent a good amount of time latched onto the beasts back bucking around, holding onto his harpoon and tether while trying to keep Sylvia dug into the beasts back. The more people crashed against it the more he was thrown about. Even as the building started to collapse Roland was still tangled on the beasts body. "s**t s**t s**t s**t...." He stated to run only to realizing he was still tethered and swung his weapon cutting himself free.

The beast wasn't thrashing as much now, but the bigger issue was the building was now on fire. Flames lashing around consuming the mall and crashing the building around them. He was off his tether scrambling down the beasts back running for the blue light of the portal Sylvia vanishing suddenly.
"s**t s**t s**t!" Scrambling faster he dove through the portal and towards the cold showers of home.

The world was falling apart, the creature crashing down. Jerry only just managed to catch his breath as the floor leaped beneath him, rubble erupting nearby. He could see the others fleeing around him, one by one leaping toward the portal... he had to move. He had arrived late enough they might not realize he was even there- and getting stuck here with that THING was not a good option.

More eruptions, every step guarded by an explosion of rock and concrete. "Ah... ah, wait! W-wait, guys!!" He dodged, narrowly missing being crushed, but laying face down in the rubble was not productive toward reaching the portal.

This was it, he thought to himself, he was going to be stuck here and die- or at least get stuck here and POSSIBLY die... Panting, he desummoned Roar, freeing his hands up to scramble over a particularly large bolder. "Guys!!" (edit: I tots misread the thing here's a bonus post of doofery.) In the process of his scrambling, among the rubble he spotted a very familiar body... unconscious or dead? His stomach twisted as he slid his way down to her, gently checking for a pulse... alive, Sasha was alive, and with what appeared to be a mustache doodled on her lip, and something questionable drawn on her cheek that made the panicked man blush profusely. He wasn't entirely sure the story behind said questionable marker drawing, and figured it was none of his business. Wobbling, he hefted her up onto his shoulder, limping his way as best he could toward the portal once again.

He was told to run, and run Lex did. Like hell he was going to stay behind and let himself die by falling into the abyss, not after all they'd done to prevent just that.
He made a beeline for the portal, only to be stopped by a falling rod that would have speared him had he taken a few more steps.

Although Oliver was still tired, terrified, and half covered in disgusting zombie slime, the healing Finn had done bolstered his fragile shield. When the mall began to collapse, he still had enough frightened energy to tug at Horace's sleeve and bolt for the newly opened portal.
