Haru 2112

Haru walked up to the gate and slowly pushed through. He felt this was the right choice, it was the only way to go and to never turn back to the past. He went to the the antique looking front doors and pushed through. He creeked as he steeped through. "So were do i go now?" he questioned. The main hall was huge. "Hello?" he called out, both hands formed around his mouth creating and echo.

Upon exiting from her shadowmelded travel, Elystra walked up to the gates of her new school. She had an awkward air about her, as she was not used to being outside of elven lands. She was used to forested cities, buildings built upon the foundation of nature and blended naturally within the trees. Darkly lit coves, dim but lively terraces. But a foundation with such a pattern as mortar and cleanly trimmed hedges was not something she was used to. Yet the Aldrassil High Magus Eldeon Stormrage insisted that she furthered her blooming knowledge of arcane magicks within the confines of this school. He also said her grace left a lot to be desired.

As she reached the gate she let out a startled 'Eep!' as a metalic being greeted her.

"Welcome to Ria High School. Please show me your acceptance letter so I may give you your student ID."

Elystra looked at the metalic creature with wide facinated eyes. She reached out to touch the strange being...

"Don't touch me"

"Yahh!!" Elystra jumped.

"Your acceptance letter, please."

"Um... Ok..." Elystra hesitantly reached for her acceptance letter from a pouch along her hips. After gaining her ID she hurried into the courtyard, hoping to get away from the metal thing. After a short walk she came to a benched area surrounding a large fountain. Several of the students passed her by without notice. Elystra reached into her flowing tunic to search for her book "The Magical Properties of Enchanted Gems and Dust. Volume IV of Arcanology Advanced." While her studies have made her a good user of magic her abilities in simple enchants were still lacking.

"Guess this is it, huh," Corrin Ayima murmured, walking around it circles as she looked around the courtyard. After a moment, she caught something in the corner of her eye and turned to face a... metal, was it? person. She glared at it for a moment as it held out it's hand.

"Excuse me, miss? I will need your acceptance letter," It said in a polite tone.

Corrin continued to glare at it, and kept her eyes on it as she handed it the torn and wrinkled paper. She nodded slightly as it said thank you and handed it her student ID. One it had gone at least a hundred feet from her, to pester another newbie, she dared a glance at the ID. Hey, it wasn't too bad. She rolled her eyes, snapping her fingers a few times as she stuffed it into a small wallet she had carried with her, then shrugged and moved her suitcase behind her shoulder as she continued to walk. "Oookay then... that was really kinda creepy," She murmured with a smirk.

Elystra sat upon the bench, deep within her studies.
"After you have combined 3 lucid crystals with the astral powder in a bowl you must concentrate your energies into a tight ball. The mixture will then form a basic spherical shape. Continuing to concentrate lift the sphere with your energies and apply it to the material of your choice. If done correctly the the material/item should give off a soft white-ish blue glow." Taking a last look at her mixture she began concentrating. The light purple and grey reagents began to glow, and soon merged into a spherical shape. Taking a look at her leather bag she focused on it. Moving her enchanted sphere she focused on merging it with the bag. A small burst of light later Elystra looked down at her bag in disappointment, as it had only retained the white-blue color, and not the full enchant. "For the love of Alhana why can't I get that right?!"

"Try concentrating a bit more, ya? You can't let your surroundings get to ya," Corrin replied softly, just happening to pass the girl who had tried to work what she would have called a 'enchantment'. She grinned slightly, pausing as she stared down at the remaining mixture. "Ignore everything else. It might just work," She said in a matter-of-fact tone, then paused again. She was actually being nice. Shocker. Corrin shook it from her mind, then grinned and said, "You new here, too?" She asked, pushing back some of her chopped-up hair behind her ear with her free hand. "Name's Corrin Ayima. And you are?" She stated as she held out her hand.

Elystra looked up at the person offering her help and blushed. "My name's... Elystra Windrunner." She picked up her tomes and stored them in the now white-blue bag. "Yes I'm new. I.. got here a little bit ago. This place is so different from my home. Not as many trees.. It feels different.." Looking up she noticed Corrin's ears. "You're an elf too?"

"Nice ta meet ya!" Corrin replied with a short salute, and quickly looked around. "Yea. It's a lot different that from where I'm from. A heck of a lot. There are a lot of men here... strange for me," She laughed slightly, then shook her head as she tugged on her ears. "Nope, I'm not elf. I'm Half Fate. True Fate's are supposed to have super long ears, but since I'm only half, I get little ones. What about you? I suppose you're an elf, huh?" She asked, scratching the back of her head.

Elystra shuffled uncomfortably a little bit, but nodded. "Yeah, I'm an elf from a distant forest kingdom. My home was in Aldrassil but having to learn magic and more martial arts has sent me here. I can't seem to get minor enchantments down. How am I supposed to master the magicks of arcanery if I can't even complete a simple enchantment?" She looked back to her bag. While it was cute, it didn't have the outcome she wanted. "I always had problems with enchanting back in Aldrassil, how do they expect me to get better here?"

Tilting his head he noted the two girls conversating. He nearly had to shove himself forward. Slowly his steps carried him behind the two girls, moreso the girl sitting then the other. Due to his somewhat tall stature he was able to glimsp the book Elystra was reading. And boy did it put a bewildered look on his face. His dual shaded eyes tore away quickly in respect to not be rude.

"Salutations ladies."

Might as well get himself to know people. After all what fun is it to be in a new place and be all alone?

Atra went up to the gates, giving the adroid a paper, as he ambled in, carrying a large sports bag, and a suitcase. Not like he had that much to carry anyway; he was carrying practically most of what he owned. Grabbing the maps and things from the table, he looked around. He had never been to a school before, as his brother had always taught him everything, and he learned things with his sister. Totally lost.

A black car pulled up just near the tall, iron gates.
The passenger door opened, as a young girl, tall and rather slim, made her way out, holding her body-bag close to herself. Her deep red eyes shifted this way and that, her long silver hair flying across her face.

"Well, hurry up. The gates aren't coming to you just standing there." scowled a woman's voice, making the girl turn her head. She stared into the car, straight at the skinny woman in the red business outfit.
"Get a move on, girl, and don't get into any trouble."
She turned back to the gates, wearing a blank expression on her face.

"Ms. Oura," said a gentle voice, it was the chauffeur. "Please take care of yourself."
She nodded her head curtly, not taking her eyes off the school. Clap! went the door as the young girl walked away from the car.
She heard the engine running as the car drove off, but she bothered not even flinch.

She sighed silently, grasping at the bottom of her bag. The girl looked around, watching the other people arrive around the gates, chit-chattering and scurrying about.
She could sense the tension they were all feeling, see the anxiety in their faces.
She sighed again, gripping tighter at her bag as she slowly made her way up the gate.

Only there and upclose could she have seen the beauty the gate surprisingly was. They were tall, beautiful iron gates with green gracefuly vines dancing up the walls. Dots of colourful budded flowers tainted the vines, along with the bushes lining the sides..

"Good day." came a sweet voice, interupting her.
"Welcome to Ria High."

She turned to face an android, her ears twitched at seeing her. Then she smiled a little.
This person, real or not, had a kind face.
She took a curt bow, and remained silent.

"I'm going to have a fine time here." she finally said, reaching into her bag.
"Oura, Haruka Yume."

"Please show me your acceptance letter so I may give you your student ID."

She nodded, and the android took the paper Yume brought out.
After a few moments of waiting, the android handed Yume a small envelope which she took and inserted curtly into her bag.

"There you are. All set. Have a nice day, Ms. Oura." and she left, the gates opened to Yume. Yume stood idly a few moments, then proceeded through the gate.

This is my new home now.. she thought, eyeing out the other students about. .. great.
And it was. Nothing more of that stepmother-nurse. No more of her torture.
It was time to start something new.. somewhere else.

Yume took out the envelope again, opened it up and pulled out the map.
She seemingly just stared at for a few moments, folded it, put it back into the envelope, put that in her bag, click! and her bag closed.
"First stop.."

Corrin Ayima giggled lightly, shrugging her shoulders a bit. "Well, maybe they expect you to learn more here. Who knows. You might find something better here than all that hocus-pocus and enchantment stuff, ya know?" She suggested, dropping her suitcase on the ground, as it was starting to get really heavy. As she did, she felt something snap on her hand and glanced down with a scowl. "Damn, broke another. Might as well just tear em off," She murmured, counting two of her long nails broken. She then heard another's voice and looked up, this time towards the male. "Yo, hiya," She stated, as she saluted the boy much like she did when she met someone. Just a natural reaction.

Azahlia stood across the street from the huge iron gates, leaning against an old, gnarled tree that cast a lovely deep shadow over her. She stood like that for a few moments, just taking it all in, watching the kids beyond the gates chatting, smiling, some running and laughing even...

They look normal enough to me, she thought, eyeing some boys suspiciously. Suddenly a blue flame crackled from the hand of one, straight up into the sky, as he showed off to a girl, the other boys laughing and slapping high fives, encouraging the boy with the flame...

ok, well that's just like any other adolescent male I've ever come across... only with blue flames and stuff... right, so they're not normal then, she considered, one eybrow raised and her lips screwed up into a tight little rosebud as she tried to come to terms with what she was witnessing.

Well, I'm not normal either... so I should fit right in... right? I mean, this is what I've been searching for all this time... they're jsut like the kids at the orphanage, except with powers or whatever... they're like me..., and her eyes widened as she considered what she'd just thought.

They're more like me than any other person I've ever known... other than Wolf..., and as the thought of Wolf slipped into the long-hardened crevices of her heart and soul, she felt light-headed... then she stiffened, took a deep breath and stood striaght, feet firmly placed on the ground and eyes turning from blue-green to a steely blue-grey. She brushed away the pain within, flicking her fingers towards the ground firmly, and as she did, the dirt at her feet went flying every which way.

Ready then? Yes. I'm ready. Ready as I'll ever be! and she stalked with purpose toward the gates.

"Welcome to Ria High School. Please show me your acceptance letter so I may give you your student ID."

Zahli jumped backwards with a start, tripping over the bottom of her pants as she went, and tumbled backwards onto the hard ground with a thud.

"Wha-wha-wha-... what the fff" she stuttered, and the metallic woman leant forward at the waist and scolded firmly,
"Don't you dare bring that filthy mouth of yours into our lovely clean school, young miss!"

Azahlia looked up and flinched as a metallic hand shot out toward her. She stared at it for a second. "It's rude to stare young lady! I can see we're going to have to teach you more than just magic and the like. Some manners are what you'll be needing! Hmph!"

Azahlia brushed a strand of purple hair from her face, and took the hand that was offered to her, getting to her feet and dusting herself off. She looked at the metallic woman and quickly apologised. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to be rude, I just... you just... I... I'm not from around here, I've never seen a... and I've never known any...", she gestured to the students that were staring at her, with their wands and their magic books.

"I'm awfully sorry," she offered again, and smiled weakly at the metallic woman, "there's no excusing my poor manners m'aam. I hope you'll forgive me..." she trailed off.

"Forgive you?", huffed the metallic face, and then it broke into a smile, "Don't be silly child, it was all rather amusing!"

Zahli ventured a smile, and then a giggle, and then she smiled for real, for the first time that she could remember in a long time.

"Now then, I need to see your acceptance letter Miss...?"

"Oh, Miss Blu... yes, Miss Azahlia Blu... geez, I've never been called "Miss" before... that's something new..." she smiled.

"Yes, well, by the looks of you I'd say you'll be hearing, seeing, and experiencing a lot of new things in the coming days... or the coming minutes for that matter! HA!" she snorted merrily. "Yes, well then... ahem, Blu... Blu, Blu, Blu... ah! Here we go! Azahlia Blu! Here's your ID card young lady! Show yourself around, that's a good girl, and this map here shows you the location of everything you need! Ta ta then!"

And with that, Azahlia found herself alone again.

Well... not technically alone... look at all these kids..., she looked around wide-eyed, and wandered slowly about, not quite knowing where she was going, or even that she was wandering for that matter.

Carrot arrived at the Ria High Gates. She began to feel nervous. The tall building made her hands sweaty. Her mother decided to not let her be home schooled, so her Mother decided to come here.

As she walked past the gate, she stepped up to an android that said, "Welcome to Ria High School please show me your acceptance letter so I may give you your student ID". Carrot looked inside her back pack and gave in the acceptance letter to the android. "Here you go, have a nice day," she replied. "Thank you." Carrot added.

And with that done, I.D card in her hands, she walked into the building.

For a split moment a rather amused look crept to his boyish features when he heard the girl say 'yo'. It was the first time he'd ever heard that come from femme lips. It wasn't that he was sexist, it was just his first so it was ..'cute'. When the girl saluted, his thumb tore from the loop of his pants and a crisp salute was offered in return.

"Sorra am I interruptin'?"

As his hand lowers from the salute he makes a small motion towards the broken nails. He wasn't sure if that was a result of his ..'sneaking up'. Slowly his hand lowered to his side and he offered a faint smile.
