"Oh yea," Long grinned, "It's been great visiting, don't get to do it too often."
There were other things that had to be done, though Long had been coming by more often since Daemon had returned.
"Especially to see everyone at once, well almost, you still have a few cousins or aunt or... well extended family living somewhere else," Long amended.
While he did understand how they were all related, it was still confusing because they were all several generations along and in different stages of development.

Andarien grinned. "Yeah! Celebor and Niyana and Cindy are back in Arda, and Celebor and Niyana have a bunch of kids, and Cindy has one kid and he's almost the same size as me! And my nako and my neko are in Tor Karad and ... well ... there's a whole bunch of aunts and uncles and cousins there but I don't remember them all. But we went traveling with Uncle Daeron and Ada says that maybe when we get back there I'll have another aunt, too! Because Uncle Daeron really likes Iorlas. She's really pretty, I think. And she gave me a really neat gift! It was a yucky drink, but after I was finished it I could speak all kinds of languages and I didn't even have to learn them! And that was really good, because when Ada tried to teach me languages, it didn't work at all. I would remember for just a little bit and then I would forget, and -"
"Andarien, breathe," Earendil interrupted the boy with an amused smile.

Long chuckled at that, he only managed to catch half of it, and go figure he would catch the most interesting bits.
"Sounds like quite a lot happens when you travel," Long grinned, "Though you might want to keep the whole thing about how you got the ability to speak any language to yourself."

Andarien blinked at Long. "Huh? Why?" he asked, not understanding.
Of course, he didn't know yet that it had been dragon's blood.

Long didn't know that it had been dragon's blood, but he knew a very powerful gift when he heard of one. While perhaps more inexperienced people would think something flashy like Long's fire was powerful, something that gave others a great deal of knowledge was nothing to sneeze at.
"Well, so that others will not ask how you got it, or bother this Iorlas person for the ability as well."

Andarien thought about it, and then he nodded sagely.
"That's a good idea," he said solemnly. "That wouldn't be nice for her. And she's one of the nicest people I know, so I don't want to make things bad for her."
Andarien was thoughtful of others ... when he realized there was something to be thoughtful about.

Long nodded with a smile, glad he wouldn't have to expand on that because telling a little boy about the ills of the world was not his job. He did his duty when he had to tell Donovan, now it was up to a newer generation to take up that headache.
At this point Lin came back with her own plate. She greeted her grandparents as she took a seat beside Earendil.
"Glad you both could make it," she told them with a smile, "And how are you liking your dinner so far Andarien?"

Andarien smiled at Lin. "It's yummy," he told her. He held up the bun that was in his hands. "This is my favourite so far! But I didn't try the fruit yet."
He looked down at Eon, who was licking his lips and looking up at Andarien, waiting for more.
"But maybe I should have some before I give all of it to Eon," he added sheepishly.

Lin chuckled at this, "If you really would like to have plain fruit then yes, you probably should."
Otherwise the deserts were full of fruit because it wasn't overly sweet and it was safe for everyone to eat.

Andarien ate some of his fruit, but he left the juicier and sweeter things for Eon - who really seemed to enjoy it.
Eventually, though, Andarien's plate was empty, but there was that little corner of his stomach that still wasn't full - the little corner that nothing but dessert could fill.
"Nana, can we get dessert?" he asked, wiping his mouth on a napkin and looking up at her with wide eyes.

"Yes," Lin nodded.
Since she saw her father go up with a camera, no doubt to ambush Andarien into a picture. Who knew her father liked to take pictures so much? Then again, he had plenty of her and a few of Miyuki.
"We can go and grab something," Lin wasn't that much for sweets but one a sweet treat wouldn't hurt, so she asked Earendil and Miyuki, "Would you two like anything since we're going up anyways? Grandmother? Grandfather?"
"A cupcake would be nice," Long eyed it, there was no icing, but that meant less sugar in the long run which meant Mi couldn't say no to a bit of cake.

"I'll let you choose something for me," Earendil told Lin with a smile. "You know what I like."
Sweets. He had quite the sweet tooth.
Andarien set the napkin on the table and slid off his chair. "Come on, Nana," he called to her, starting off to the table on his own.

"Miyuki?" Lin looked over at her daughter.
She was the only one who hadn't said anything and she already knew her grandmother liked sweets less than Andarien. So maybe just a birthday bun (and even then that would be pushing it).
"The buns please!" Miyuki replied.
She liked the buns, they looked like small peaches and they were tasty to her. It was her favourite thing, but they could only be brought in specialty stores or given on birthdays.
"Right," she motioned for Andarien to follow, "Let's go, and see what else is there."

Andarien grinned and walked happily with Lin. He liked it when he could do things with his parents.
Eon skipped along after him until he told the Eevee to wait by his chair. Personally he would have liked to have Eon go with him, but he was afraid that the baby pokemon might get stepped on or something, and that wouldn't be nice, he thought.

Lin had always liked the desert table at family gatherings like these. Not just because of the fact they were sweets, but they were quite decorative when Triton was in the mood, or he let Miyu help. She led him to the cupcake display, she could see now someone had placed cutout of gears and then dusted it the cupcakes with powder sugar. So none of the tops looked the same, but it was all gears in different forms.
Someone obviously had fun with that. Grabbing a dinner plate (because she was bringing food back), she went over to grab a few for their table.
