Spookie? Now that was a interesting nickname...not that she minded, of course.
"Now that you mention it, I am a little bit thirsty" Astra replied to his offering for a drink, having completely forgot about having something to eat or drink before the prom. She had been to focused on dressing up and doing her hair, and now that she thought about it she could go for something to snack on as well.
As she thought about her, she noticed a couple out on the dance floor, and her eyes went wide at the dancing they were doing. Those moves.. they were spectacular! How could they danc elike that? Did that mean she would have to dance like that? She wasn't sure she could pull moves like that...

"OH!" She yipped, an unusually ghoulish sound. She guessed this was part of the dance but OH DEAR JACK, the way he was looking at her made her feel sort of. Like she didn't have nearly enough clothing on, or something.
She realized she was holding her breath, and as his fingers laced into hers she let it out slowly. "Ah, haha, uh, I guess it's not that unlike tangling? Um." She gulped, no longer able to resist, and met his eyes balefully. Had she done something to upset Riley? Or was Emily meant to be some kind of barrier between her and this...this definitely questionable conduct.
But, but. It was part of a dance. She had seen more suggestive looking dances, hadn't she? Only those didn't have partners, which was just as well.
Cady was, unfortunately, a little at Deacon's mercy at the moment.

Oh poor Lizzy. Mot patted the ghoul's back as she kept her head down like he had, smiling nervously. "Sorry, hun. It had to be said. We were getting a little too riled up."
The incident and dark atmsosphere regarding the mindflayers was met with a cautious eye from Mot. He was not sure what was wring, but he kept a protective hand on Lizzy's back, leaning to grab a cookie, only not really. He was keeping his arms covering his date. Protect her. that was his job.
The incident ended, and Mot sat himself down beside Lizzy again, nibbling slowly on the treat. "Don't do that Lizzy, you'll get brain damage."
Woah. What happened to Jericho?

The fact that Cady didn't immediately recoil and give him a good, hard slap upside the head was enough to say to Deacon that his selection of movements was perfectly acceptable.
At least this dance didn't involve Deacon thrusting his hips, or things would become even worse very quickly.

Cady just tried to... keep up with whatever they were doing. She could do this. It was part of being on a date, right?
That thought lasted almost an entire minute, before she finally blurted, "THIS UH, THIS DANCE INVOLVES A LOT OF TOUCHING, YOU KNOW. It's, er. In..Im...poper. Proper. Improper, yes." She glanced around furtively for any other dancing pairs. She was beginning to get a little worried.
"Uh, you know, maybe we should save this sort of thing once we're um. Better, ah. A-quaint...I don't even know what you are," she finally mumbled. His dorm HAD been in the demon dorms. "Are you going to try er, tempt me with you wicker ways? Isn't that what demons do?" A thread of sterness had finally rooted itself in her voice. THIS was familiar ground, if a little vague. She had experienced many a lecture on Temptations re: boils by Cady.
She definitely remembered some mention of wickers. Whatever that was. She supposed ultimately to each his own, but she had never understood how temptation could be scary. Well ok, definitely intensely embarassing.

All too quickly, his date seemed to panic. Blinking in surprise - not that he should have been surprised - Deacon's hands came instantly to his sides.
He actually tensed for a moment, too. With her shouting, he was sure there was a strike coming.
When she only continued rambling, stumbling over her words, he tried his best to look apologetic. "Oh, uh... Sorry." His gaze adverted, a hand coming up to tunnel through his hair in nervousness. "Sure. We don't have to dance so close. Or together... I mean. Touching. We don't have to be touching."
And he probably would have managed agreeing with her quite well, had she not scolded him for his supposed 'wicker' ways. "My... What?" He said, before the words fully sank in. Then, he laughed. "The word is wicked, Cady..."
Although, that hadn't really answered either of her questions.

Cady sighed with relief as he apologized, and backed off a bit. She even chucked goodnaturedly at his correction of her admonishing. She stared a bit, waiting for an answer to her question, and finally decided the best offense was a good...offense. Right.
"Well, I'M a manticore. We're very well known, you know, for eating things. I can do this really cool thing with my jaw -" at this point, she opened it wide...wider, managing to fit a good portion of her arm safely past several rows of serrated teeth.
She removed her hand after her little demonstration and smiled. Pleasantly, probably. "I promised not to eat anyone while at school, because it's against the rules, you know." If what she had done was incredibly awkward or intimidating, she didn't seem to realize it.
"Can you do anything that cool?"

Jove blushed even more when Tomoko squeezed his hand, but he nodded and started towards the tables. Sitting down was a good idea, maybe he could escape the rest of the prom without dancing again. Of course, if they stumbled across Junko and Seiji again, maybe Tomoko would want to go dance with them. The pup tugged at Tomoko's hand as he started towards the tables, and then he froze. And stared towards the entrance. When did Cat arrive at the academy?! An almost comical shiver ran from his tail up to his neck as he recalled the strange feeling the other ghost had given him at the Open House. He was sure he didn't want to run into Cat right then, not when he was all dressed up, and still blushing like a ghoul after his dance with Tomoko. But he had a sneaking suspicion it was too late.

"A-ah, no... I'm the one who should apologize..." She muttered, responding to the pat as she tilted her head, eyes rolling to the side to look at Mot, "You did the right thing... I'm not sure why nobody told me earlier..." She frowned, although that soon turned into a pout as the boil's 'explanation' played over and over again in her head like a broken tape recorder; ugh, why didn't she realize what she had been doing earlier?
She must had looked like an idiot.
That thought caused her face to redden, and she sighed, pulling her arms up on the table and crossing them before resting her head down, eyes closed. After the second forehead-to-table incident, her forehead was slightly red - not that it affected Lizzy's ability to think clearly.
... Okay, so she thought there were two Rileys being intimate with herself, but at least she didn't do anything about that (like shout out something embarrassing for example)! The fact that she could feel Mot's gloved hand on her back the whole time helped; it was rather comforting in a way.
"Mmmm, I think my brain is damaged already," She finally felt "well" enough to look up, although she was still leaning over the table rather than sitting up straight, "I thought I saw two Rileys..." She rubbed her forehead with one hand as she said this, her other hand moving to grab her hat off the table and place it back on her head.

Christof flushed further as Riley linked her arm with his and lead him and Jericho off of the dance floor, his eyes glued to his boots as he meekly babbled, "He thought um. Thinthe I had a date and um... that her... in c-cathe of k-kithing and um.. But my date, er..." He let it drop, she seemed to have other things on her mind anyway as he timidly took a seat at the table. He slouched further, content on watching as Riley fidgeted. Had she been in the sweets already? More than likely. He was slightly disappointed in Jericho and Malodore for letting her, but so long as she was Happy and not embarrassing herself... And then she had started to dance around the dragon, jealousy bubbling up in his stomach again but like a Good Boy, he sat and said nothing. Maybe he would try a spookie. Or a sausage. He wasn't hungry, though. By the time he glanced up again, Mistress was gone. He was about to ask Jericho where she had run off to, but by the time he opened his mouth the Dragon suddenly dropped out of sight only to be dragged under the table. The hunchback squeaked in alarm, scooting his chair out a bit to peer after him, brows knit as he hurriedly whispered, "Mithtreth? W-what are you doing?"

"Refreshments for the little lady, then~" Cat crooned sweetly, moving over to the snack table with a visible strut in his step.
Oh yes, he was in his zone, certainly. He didn't have to worry about losing track of his ribbons and being unable to get them back, he didn't have to worry about going home, and...well look what we have here. The adorable frightened gaze of a very familiar blue and white boil caught his attention immediately. Jove, his favorite little pup, from the Open House. He recalled, with an ever widening Smile, how the little one had been able to sense the bubbling mass that hid quietly underneath Cat's shadowy ribbons.
The blush, of course, did not go unnoticed, and Cat twiddled his fingers fondly at the pup as a greeting.

He really was going to get a drink for her? That was great! and...um.
Astra was quickly running out of ways to describe everything that was happening tonight, feeling too giddy and happy at being here and listening to the booming music. Now, if she could only find some of her friends..
What she did find, however, was a small ghost boy whom she recognized as Jove from the mushroom hunt, except now he looked much more hansom and cute in his prom suit "Ah! Jove! joovveee!" She called out to him, then paused as she saw the expression on his face. It was a mixture of embarrassment and..shock? She wasn't sure, as she was unaware that Jove had already met Cat which was the source of his discomfort.

"Oh jack," Roch muttered, his eyes wide as he saw the cute little pink haired ghoul he had almost lobbed with a meatball. "Sorry!" he called. "I was just--uh-- Testing its flying ability?" he offered lamely. "See, Danny? You couldn't get that sort of arc with a chip!" he bragged. Jackdammit, this is what he got for trying to distract an idiot from the question of whether he was lonely, he thought. And there was no way Danny could be there forever and ever like she claimed, not when he fully planned on only spending the time he had to in Halloween after he graduated, and she was a high class rich as hell demoness. But there was no point in telling her that, so he didn't.

...What? Tess was leaving, really? Her words about Lizzy and Xiu Mouse stung, and the pang of guilt from after he came back from kissing Lizzy once more punched him right in the gut. It was not something he felt often, but he felt it now, even if she did try to back track to make it up to him, the thought was still there; he was a terrible date, with his disappearing with Lizzy and dancing with Mouse and all.
"Yeah, alright." The Reaper managed to get out, offering a smile before she got out of his grasp to fly away. Poor Tess, maybe he'd have to make it up to her one day, instead of the other way around; he had to wonder if maybe she saw them out there. Another question for another day, perhaps.
Once she was out of sight, Mac turned and ducked back into the room, giving the male mindflayer more than enough space to make his exit, and took a seat at their table again. Well, he wanted to take a seat at the table, but Riley pulled Jericho under like some sort of sea monster. Err, okay, maybe sitting wasn't an option. If they were under there, who knows what was happening under the rest of the tables. Tsk tsk, and Jericho was convinced their relationship wasn't romantic! What a joke.
"No, that actually happened." Mac informed Lizzy upon arrival, frowning at the table for a moment before deciding to risk it and take a seat.

It should be noted that Mandy had a generally well defined sense of personal space, not in the sense that anyone invading it would find a violent reaction most of the time but wellllllll... having someone unexpectedly close to her face caused her to start quite visibly, blushing a little as she pulled back. Clearing her throughout she let Aurians confusing words roll around her head for a moment, not-quite-blind date? Did she-? Oooooooooh Obviously Aurian was a very literal ghoul. Contemplations of her dates personality aside Mandy had some dancing to get to which would require her to actually pay attention to her surroundings. Like Aurian she started with copying the moves of the dancers around her but unlike her date no grace came into her dancing, Mandy was all about economy of motion and... Dancing was much more flayboant than that. Still at least she didn't have two left feet.
