I have a character but I dont know what to do with him now, I havnt been on for a good time with school. Any suggestions?

Just have him join in some of the many random rps going on? Introduce him to the newer people?


And we've had a lot of dances, so i dunno about one that soon a lot of RPs are gonna get pretty intense pretty soon, but a christmas one for sure.

Alright, well first off Id like to make an introduction. Im Andrew (Rl name) rp name is Rashid Langtry, 3rd year hufflepuff..Im an experienced rp, and with one of my closest friends in rl who is also new to the guild, we hope to rise to ranks an
d bring more fun and experience to this amazing guild. smile

Apart from my introduction, I do have a question..as well as part of a suggestion.


First question. ~ As coming into this year as a third year, is it at all possible to automatically know the spells from 1st and 2nd year? Im guessing yes, because it would be a bit awk being a third year with no spells under my belt. xp

Second question ~ Is it possible to make a special sub-forum of the spells we can learn throughout the year?

1st year..so&so
2nd year....
3rd year..
And so on, so forth.

I think with these it will be a good, and constructive guideline that fellow rp's can learn, instead of just going to class and asking at every which turn.

Third question~ I believe that with the profile forum, that we should have a "Spells Learned:" in the profile guideline..so that whenever a student/fellow rp learns a skill, we should place it there.

Any spells that are said, that are not in their profiles in my opinion should be rendered obsolete..it makes things a tad bit more difficult, but with fairness coming up at best.

-And alright, I see I see..it gives me great thought to consider while im a work tonight, with my whole backround etc. Was a previous Hogwarts student? Another school? Or maybe even home-schooled..I shall think about this. =]

-Yes! I agree with you completely on the spells, one of the most recent posts ive seen was in the headmistresses office, she was teaching a student a spell about "Lung healing?" that could very well be an exception, perhaps with being tied in to the profiles we could put notes on how we learned the spells, from who etc. Perhaps we can have limits on what years know what, or so we dont immediately exclude them, have them not know the spell completely until they are in fact 5th year or beyond to have it mastered.

-For the profiles, I mean..Have it set in with the profile guideline.
You know how there are things like...

*Face claim
*Name
*Appearance
*Wand
Etc., Etc.
But with this, we could have *Spells learned at the bottom of this..
And yes, we should also come together..perhaps a group of selected people to make this forum of spells, and categorizing them.

Example: *Charm Spells*////*Defense against the Dark Arts*///**Transfiguration*

Also potions, maybe we can find or make skills that associate with flying?
I mean, personally I have no desire to be apart of the quiditch team/flying on a broom etc...but I would be more then willing to give my input on things to come up with?

Hi! I like the ideas =) The only thing about making the sub forum and typing all the spells is that some people, take Rhiannon for example, knows some dart arts. So there would be some exceptions, some people might know spells from practicing that at home, like how Harry learned the patronus as a third year. There are some people who might just study a bit more, like Hermione knowing N.E.W.T year level spells in her 5th year with the Protean charm. I think people should more just go by the HP books what spells they'd know for that year, but they can know spells of a few higher years as long as they explain how they came about learning them.

Sparrow- Yes, im happy that you agree with me on this..I mean, it already is a great guild, adding onto it with some of the things that I have mentioned will, to what I believe faster rping, less confusion..fairness, and hell I know for me it will be exciting to read. (Dweeb in me redface ) Say for examples what the headmistress knows..idk just exciting.

Sing- I know what you mean, but what about what 'Sparrow" said, perhaps if they wish to learn the higher level spells they dont know them as well..as say you, the headmistress. Takes them years to perfect etc.?
Maybe we could (The crew &myself) make notice around the guild for fairness?

And say some spells to learn, say the "Higher" ones for example could be hidden? Or locked away? Maybe some in your office..or someplace that you would intrust them not to be touched by wandering eyes? Could make for a fun time in rp for someone trying to reach them whos not wanted you know? Or hell, maybe we should have requirements for some Higher-level dangerous spells?

Hmm...OH! and for the subform "DarkArts" part you mentioned, well..why not just put the dark arts section in its own? I don't see any problem with it, it will take awhile to complete everything..to put little details in here and there..but I think in the long run it will look great. smile
Maybe next to the spell names say..for example...




(D)Protego - The Shield Charm causes minor to moderate jinxes, curses, and hexes to rebound upon the attacker.

(( I don't know, Protego is the spell that just jumps to mind.. I added the (D) in front of it because, its another little thing I thought of.. Perhaps

D-Defense
A- Attatck
S-Support

This, to give an example to say...new rp's of what each spell is good for..although if they are really creative could use spells that are not ordinarily used for defense as an offense? Etc. And a description..well you know, they should know what each one does. And maybe under each spell name, could have how it could be learned? Maybe ((Book/teacher/time )) Or rules such as (Need to be 6th year to know) little notes here and there.

Gotta say I really like this idea now, it does make a lot of sense and I think the only problem I have now is typing up every spell, saying what year they would be. If everyone could chip in and type up a spell or two, we could have it done.
