The young worker continued his task of making sure all the cages were sealed correctly, occasionally glancing at the two for a moment or so, but, for the most part, leaving them to themselves.
The boy glanced around the large pet store, frowning to himself as he continued to check each cage. Where was he? Haro's frown deepened as he gave up his search, turning back to Shin with a rather miserable expression. "Mnn, I can't find 'im," he mumbled, thinking it was hopless by that point. If he couldn't find his friend in this store then he was certain he wouldn't be able to find him elsewhere. His nose wasn't too good in large areas...and the world was a very large place. "Oh well," he continued, brushing bright strands behind one ear, "You still want to look at the puppies?" He asked, his tone more than hopeful as he glanced up at Shin.

"Mmm... sure," Shin murmured, giving the other an apologetic smile. He knew the boy had been looking forward to seeing his friend... whoever he might be. Maybe they would see him somewhere else - the world did, after all, seem to be full of quite strange coincedences. He walked slowly to where the puppies were, making sure to keep close to the boy. The puppies really were adorable, but he really couldn't let himself get too close... just in case.
**
Liao finished with the song and his frown deepened. Why was it that he couldn't do anything right today? First he got Wei angry at him by some freak accident of knocking on the door and then he couldn't play music?! Thuroughly agravted, the kitten put his violin away and walked from his room. Of course, he had forgotten that he had locked the door and rather... ran into at first before unlocking it and opening it properly, his nose now smarting with the pain of his stupidity. He ran a pale hand through still damp orangy hair as he tried to figure out something to do. Finally deciding, he exited the building, violin and bow in his sack with him, doing his best not to get lost as he so often did, and the tried to find his way to the arts building. He needed that music... but he didn't want to see his instructor. But he still needed the music. However, within ten minutes he was successfully lost in the streets.

[[I'm so sorry. ;w; School sucks away my life.]]
Haro pressed small hands against the glass window, peering in a small poofy sort of looking pup. They were all so cute. The boy didn't know how someone could just pick one. Looking up with a bright smile, Haro murmured something too soft to be heard by any average human and loked back down at the little white ball of fluff that wasa wriggling little puppy. Upon glancing through another window, the boy's golden eyes widened. "Kittens!"
Sure enough, as he scampered over towards the glass encased area, there were a few kittens crawling over one another in a rather adorable fashion, pawing at the glass with tiny paws. "Ne, can you tell what they're saying?" He asked, looking over at Shin with an almost sympathetic expression.
----
Smokes. Smokes.
It shouldn't have been so hard to find a package of cigarettes in the relatively large city, and yet here he was still roaming the streets in search of them. With a large sigh, the young man raked a hand through dark hair as he stalked along the side walk. Maybe he should just give up, he wasn't exactly tense as he had been anyway... He just needed to keep certain people off of his mind for a while and he'd be okay. He didn't need the artificial relaxation. Now if he repeated this a number of times in his head, he hoped he would actually believe himself sometime soon.

((S'okay. School's a b***h for me, too. ;D; I'm totally not succeeding in not being depressed. xD;;; ))
"Mmm... sorry, no," he murmured softly, his tone appologetic, as he shook his head slowly. "Although, if I could, they'd probably be saying something like..." He paused for a moment, thinking, before a bit of a smile slipped onto his lips. "They'd be saying how happy they are to see you." Of course, cats being cats, they were probably saying something more along the lines of wanting more food or... something.
((Sorry. ;D; */no creativity*))

Now it just so happened that Liao was lost outside the building he was supposed to be finding. Sighing, the boy - still having no idea of where he was - slumpt back against a wall on the outside of the building. In fact, just in time to be seen by the very man he was searching for.
"...Liao?" The man's tone was quizical, his voice naturally musical. The boy's eyes instantly snapped open and he looked up at his teacher, quickly standing up straight. The older man smiled, brushing aside auburn bangs from bright blue eyes. "What a surprise to see you here," he said with a touch of irony. It was, after all, the music institution Liao had attended since the age of five.
The boy flushed, looking sheepish, his eyes not meeting the other's. "I need... I need some sheet music," he murmured slowly, deciding that a blunt approach would be the best one.
"And what music would that be...?" The boy explained he needed several songs - the ones he had been given to work on only rescently and that he did not know well enough to be able to go without. Of course, his teacher wasn't exactly happy and there was that touch of scorn again, but the boy was to used to that to let it get too much to him. They entered the large building together, the boy trying to find a good reason to have lost his music that his teacher would understand.

[[...OMGTEACHER. :D <3]]
Running his hand against the store fronts beside him, Wei glanced from oen side to the other, peering into windows as he walked. Passing a small boutique full of foreign assortments, the young man fingered a tiny bell against the door of the next store. He had come here...every so often after Cal had left along with Lou, leaving the others behind. He had wanted to forget about Haro, about Lou, about all the stupid things he had done and yet he kept coming back...leaving always with nothing.
---
Dark orange eyes flickered towards the door at the familiar toll of bells. Straightening up with a waver, Benji made his way towards the door with a wry smirk, his features shifting to a much more mischievious expression as he grinned. "What brings you here? Trying to find some other poor thing to satisfy your ***** ways?" He said this in a low tone as he held the door open with an amused laugh.
"You're calling me-"
Benji grinned, interrupting, "Of course I am, see any other bastards here?" He asked, earning a generous shove as jade eyes darkened. "Not anyone besides you," he mumbled with a frown.
Running a swift hand through brightly colored hair, Benji took a step back, watching the other carefully, "What brings you here though?"
---
Haro looked almost disappointed, knocking softly against the glass before standing up with a grin, "That's okay. I just thought-" Leaning up, cupping a hands over his mouth so Shin could only hear, the boy continued, "since you're...you know, I just...thought you could understand them," he whispered, stumbling backwards as he balanced himself back down.

Shin shook his head slowly. "No... I usually can't... I mean, sometimes... But, well, for one thing they're kittens and don't have the most cohesive words. And there's the glass, as well," he pointed out. His voice, which was naturally soft, was lowered even furthur to prevent anyone else from hearing.
**
Liao thought he had done a rather good job of covering up the real reason he needed new sheet music as he was pummeled with questions ranging from why he had come by foot to why he was alone and then towards more practical questions about his current state. The boy answered them well enough, although with a little anxciety. He was finally given the music, his teacher hinting that another accurance of this sort would not leave either of them happy. Penn was, after all, known for his lack of pascience and snappy comments. Not someone you wanted to anger. He particularly liked to bug Liao, for the boy always seemed so... closed in, although his playing was fantastic.
"One last thing," the older man said as he walked Liao out the door. "It's rather lucky I ran into you..."
Liao looked up in surprise and curiosity, paused in the action of putting the sheet music away in his small bag. When had Penn ever been happy to see him?
"I need to borrow you for a while..." he murmured, voice quiet.

[[lpiht8uhwte90yhjrw0-tyteacher. <3 XD]]
Haro looked up with bright eyes, more or less atificially induced by the florescent lights, but very bright nonetheless. Pressing fingers against glass once more, the boy listened further, only hearing muffled mews and nothing else. Straightening up with a stretch, the lean boy pressed a quick peck to the tiger's cheek, a small smile turning lips upward as he murmured against Shin's neck. "Thank you anyway." Haro wasn't sure if the older teen liked recieving any sort of affection in public, so he took a few steps backwards in a hastey fashion, turning his eyes elsewhere for a moment or so.
Brushing fingers through pinky orange strands of hair, Haro scampered off towards another area of the store, golden eyes glancing over at the weird smelling man who was conversing with-- It was almost surreal. The way he felt. He wasn't sure if there was something lingering inside...or...or maybe it was just the light haired man's smell that was getting to him, but- He didn't feel scared, surprisingly. He wasn't sure why he didn't. He had every right to be...and yet as amber flecked eyes met a beautiful shade of jade green he felt almost peaceful...as peaceful as a bird could feel in a pet store under much too bright lights.
---
Benji grinned for a moment or so, noting that the snake wasn't falling into the routine of insulting one another as easily as he usually did. Wei looked...miserabley distracted. Waving a pale hand in front of the young man's face, the other quirked a brown, frowning faintly. "What's wrong with you?"
A twist of features; lips curling into a smirk, slitted eyes narrowing. "I'm perfectly fine."
Wei didn't think Haro would be stupid enough to come to the city. Was he asking for trouble? For him? He doubted it, but the idea was more than thrilling for him. He wouldn't mind a little game of hunt-the-prey-down-until-they-can't-breath. Unforunately Haro wasn't running, he was just standing there with the oddest look on his face. He looked happy... It wasn't exactly comforting to see the thing he had controlled for so long staring at him like that.

Penn pulled a confused Liao down the concrete steps into the subway. He bought tickets - for both of them, since Liao didn't need to ride the subway - and they were soon off. He had already explained what he needed to the dumbfounded boy, but he still didn't understand. Penn had always been odd. Very odd. Not just the way he taught - that was fine because, in the end, he always got everything needed across to the pupil. But he wasn't nice. And he wasn't even cruel. He was just a jerk - a condescending jerk. But for once, Liao's teacher wasn't throwing snide comments at him or hinting at anything or being in the least bit himself. He look anxcious and nervous, his eyes flashing desperation.
They got off the subway and Liao was quickly led, his wrist held tightly in the other's grip, down the streets until they reached a large estate - the residence of some wealthy person. They entered through the front gates and the boy was led, at an even faster pace, up stairs and down hallways until they finally stopped at a door. Here, Penn seemed to get a hold on himself. He glanced momentarilly at Liao, his expression unreadable, and then he carefully knocked on the door.
**
Shin flushed slightly at the display of affection. Of course he loved it whenever Haro kissed him, but he wasn't quite sure why the boy flushed all over when it was he who had started the action. He boy fidgetted away and Shin followed, not noticing the dark-haired man until Haro stopped dead, eyes fixed forward. Shin looked in the direction the boy was staring at and his gaze fixed on Wei. His mouth slid into a slow frown and he took a few more steps forward until he was directly behind the boy. He did not at all look happy. In irritation, his hands brushed together, the feeling of cloth bandages on skin reminded him of what had occured in their last meeting with Wei.

[[...The name Penn reminds me of our founding fathers. :D -shot-]]
Looking backwards for only a moment, Haro backed up slowly until he was just barely pressed against Shin, small fingers seeking out the older teen's sleeves in an attempt to protect him from an obvious threat. Staring hard at Wei, Haro's smile faded as fingertips brushed against soft bandages.
"Will you apologize?"
He spoke as soft as ever, but his voice was stern, almost demanding as he stared up at Wei. The snake turned his head to the side, ignoring Benji's pleas to be let in on whatever secret he was hiding. "For what, kiddo?" Turning his head back towards Haro, the young man grinned maliciously, eyes flickering between the two in front of him.
"For hurting..." He started slowly, his eyes lowering slowly. "...for hurting s-someone...I care- I- For hurting Shin," he murmured, his determined expression fading as the snake's smirk persisted. Unsure as to what Wei's response would be, the boy nearly shyed away from the older man, but of course being directly in front of Shin meant he couldn't quite move as well as he would've liked.
"Please, can you just apo-" His near beg was cut off as a rough hand jerked his chin upwards in a less than gentle manner. Haro made this wonderfully strangled noise that made him smile, nails digging into the boy's chin as he flashed a few fangs. "I did the right thing," he murmured, green eyes glinting as they examined the boy's face. Haro looked so nice when he was in pain, one eye scrunched up as he tried to put on some sort of show that he wasn't hurting as bad as Wei knew he was.
"Besides, why do you care so much? Not like anyone else can have you, you belong to me in more ways than you'd like to admit, I'm sure," he added with a wide grin, watching as the boy's expression fell from one of pain to one of near belief.

((xD www.babynames.com <--Blame them?)) At this, Shin had to protest. Expression now one of anger, he stepped in front of Haro, pushing Wei's hand away from the boy's chin so that he lost his grip with one of his own bandaged hands. "Don't touch him!" he said furiously, bright eyes narrowed. He couldn't stand to see Haro in pain - especially when the boy pretended that he wasn't. He did that too much. There was a part of him that was quite afraid of bleeding again. Of having to see that crimson leaking from his own flesh... But he pushed his fear away, convinced that the safety of the small teen was more important.
**
The door was opened almost immidiately by some maid, who scuttled out after they had entered. Obviously whatever was about to happen wasn't something Penn or the other man - for there was another, older, man inside the vast room - wanted a maid to hear. They entered and the heavy oak doors fell shut behind them. The man was quite old and obviously rich. There was something from the way he sat that implied a natural grace and power. The room was filled with a rich red velvet color and the man - Penn's own father - looked over at them with an expression of mild curiosity, one eyebrow raised.
"And so... this is the reason for your refusal?" he asked. His voice was proud and musical - a practiced, educated voice that was the epitome of perfumed wealth.
Penn nodded curtly. "Yes, Father."
Liao looked completely non-plused - what in the world was happening?! Penn had just said he needed someone to distract his father - and Liao could understand that, with his parents - but what was going on?
"I can't marry Sylvia because I'm in love with him," he said cooly. There was no indication that he was lying. "We're quite happy together, aren't we, Liao?" he asked, giving the boy a look that said only too clearly that things would become most unpleasant if he did not play along.
"Y-yes..." he stammered.

[OMG. I KNEW IT. OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. XD This is so amusing. I love MISTAPenn. XD]]
Wei knew he couldn't quite hurt anyone in the store, but...god, it was so tempting to just rip that teen's arm to ribbons. What did this little punk have that made him feel as if he could tell him what to do?! (Apparently the snake never stopped to realize he did many of the same thing to Haro).
Unfortunately for the snake with nearly sadistic tendencies, Haro didn't really care for himself... he susually didn't care he was hurt... but he cared for Shin (he wasn't quite sure why he hadn't thought of this before in this certain light). The look of nearly overwhelming fear on the boy's face almost made him shiver. He had never seen the kid look so worried before...
Taking a step back, the snake blew a kiss to his bird before turning green eyes on slightly taller tiger (it was unnernving that he wasn't taller than the brat). "You." His eyes narrowed to mere slits, "Don't ever tell me what to do again," he hissed, watching with an inwardly pleased expression as Haro 's eyes widened. He looked scared. Finally. Unforuntately he looked to be on the verge of tears, fingers clinging to the back of Shin's shirt.
"P-please...please just...leave-" He gulped on his air, almost choking as he tried not to cry, "D-don't hurt him, please." He looked so deperate. So scared. It was a nice look for him. Wei would have to threaten Shin more often...

Shin's gaze softened as he glanced back towards the boy, but doubled in anger as it returned to Wei's face. "I'll tell you what I want - especially when you're trying to hurt Haro," he said, his cold furiosity blazing in his gaze. He didn't want to have to deal with Wei, but if the man tried to hurt Haro again.... "Come on, Haro... let's go," he murmured to the boy, eyes still fixed intently on Wei.
((/uncreativity))
**
"So, let me get this straight. You can't marry Eloise - to whom you have been engaged since the age of five - because you're in love with some kid?" he sneered with open contempt, desbeleif etched in his features.
"Correct," Penn said, his expression bland.
All in all, it was not nearly as bad as Liao had first thought when he had first fully understood. The man waved them off with a disgusted look and they returned to the outside and the cold winter day. Penn sighed, looking very releived, and then smiled at the boy. "Right, well, that's done!" he exclaimed happily. "Thanks."
Liao frowned and then murmured a quiet "you're welcome." He was very curious as to what was going on, but thought that if he found anything more out about his teacher that he would be more closely associated with him. Liao didn't want to get any closer to his teacher than he had to.

[[Woah, I typoed a LOT in that last post. I need to remember to proof read. D: Penn's dad should have needed proof... -shot to death-]]
Grip tightening, the boy leaned his forehead against the older teen's back, breathing slowly as he silently prayed that Wei would just leave them alone. He could...smell the change in the air. The animals were tense, curious as to what was happening outside their safe little boxes. The snake smelled particularly angry, most likely glaring...and with a peek from behind Shin, the expression was confirmed. Wei was glaring sharply at the tiger, knuckles a pale color as he dug nails into his palms. He didn't look...happy at all.
Haro let go of the cat hesitantly, shifting around Shin, intending to leave with him, fingers curled around the tiger's wrist.

Shin glanced over at Haro and then slipped his hand upward so that he cold intertwine his fingers with the other's. He wasn't going to let Wei hurt Haro... It would be best to leave as soon as possible - now. He walked with Haro towards the exit, his expression becoming unreadable. His thoughts, however, were seathing with anger at the way Wei treated Haro.

[[True. But I wanted proof. In kissy form. XD]]
Green eyes narrowed coldly while fingers flexed tightly against the young man's thigh. <********' brat. Hissing under his breath, Wei made a grab for the boy's arm, nails catching only fabric as he was pulled back by a rather annoyed Benji. He was not going to have some sort of fight in the store when his manager was out. Glaring at the slightly younger man, Wei grumbled to himself. He might have not been able to snatch away his bird, but at least he knew what to use against him next time. He was sure he'd be able to force a few satisfactory responses from the boy when he did finally get his hands on him. With a twisted smirk, Wei gave Benji an eerie, almost happy, glance before watching Haro leave, huddled against the cause of all his problems.
Keeping golden amber eyes forward, Haro stiffly pushed opened the store's entrance, eyes occasionally drifting upwards. Shin looked mad...sort of, not exactly. Haro wasn't quite sure when it came right down to it... "Are you okay?" He asked in a soft, almost scared, voice.
