[Alan :: Red Rose Deck]
Alan startled a little as Kyle greeted him. He had been thoroughly engrossed in his studies and the sudden knocking on his consciousness of the real world and the necessity of human contact came rather unexpectedly. He put Jehuti away and turned to face the person sitting next to him.
"Hah," he said, "you could say that. it's certainly been hectic."
Despite his unending bad mood, Alan smiled and spoke warmly. It was good to have company.

{Kyle : Inside the Red Rose}
"Yeah. Definitely hectic. Today's just been one long stream of battles...." He said in response, thinking of how his day started off. Captured by guards with the others, released, taken to the other Earthlings, fighting the Replicas, going back to the Land of Dragons, fighting human guards, then Kurt Zisa, Jafar, then Sephiroth. Hell of a hectic day indeed.
"So, as far as I know, everyone who got captured by the guards in the Land of Dragons was lost in the Bamboo Thicket for five days. How about you? Were you lost and wandering around in there? Or did you get caught somewhere else?"

[Alan :: Red Rose Deck]
Alan gestured towards the mountains behind the city. "No, I was further away - up in the mountains. But yeah, I was lost. I tell you, magic is very useful for wilderness survival. More useful there than for combat, actually, it's turning out." He smiled a little mirthlessly. With all of these strong people running around, and with everyone having such cool and variant powers, Alan felt really outclassed in terms of fighting for the first time in years.

[Nick :: Red Rose Sleeping Quarters]
Nick's cheeks went crimson at hearing the Carbuncle talk, realizing he had just said the girl's summon. It mentioned being one and the same with Kyla...Nick gave a small smile, hoping that learning everyone else's name would go as well as this. He continued to pet the little creature, and couldn't help but chuckle.
"Yes, I suppose this journey hasn't been the easiest one. But that's another story for another day. I'll be fine, little one. Return to your other; I'm sure she'd love to have her summon to snuggle with." He replied to Tyue's final question, giving her a reassuring pat on the head before lying his head back against the pillow.
Well, this is beginning to work well. Kyla's summon is Carbuncle and based on what I saw outside the ship, she's rather close to that dark brown haired boy he had seen earlier. I think it's time I cause a wedge between the two...or make them fall in love. Whatever one is funnier. Nick thought to himself, and a devious chuckle escaped his lips.

[Tyue/Kyla: Red Rose: Sleeping Quarters> Nicks Roocm > Kyla's Room]
"Very well, if you insist." It was better she'd go anyways, the longer and father she strayed from Kyal the more mana had to be used, and it would defeat the purpose of sleep entirely if she dawdled. The summon blinked a few times, regarding the young man carefully. He was definitally a curious one. The intellegence and expression in the creatures eyes seemed to be the one physical resemblance that she and her partner shared.
" Good Night then." Tyue turned around and walked back to the edge fo the room, her small body passed through the dividing wall like a ghost. It would have looked freaky perhaps under other circumstances. It also showed Nick where the said partner of the carbuncle was.
Leaping back onto the bed, Tyue's eyes softened as she watched her aibou sleeping soundly. Finaly Carbuncle rejoined her once more, her physical form faded like a dream. Tyue's spirit dove back down into the secret depths of her partners heart where she once came.
Kyla smiled in her sleep. Whole once more.

[Beatrix ; Maggie ; Yuffie ; Cloud : Red Rose]
Maggie was tired. Her head didn't throb anymore, thanks to God knows how many healing spells had been cast on her since her injury, but it had been a long day, and she needed rest. The room she entered had a bunk bed, she noticed, and a certain ninja was on the top bunk, a bag opened before her, munny and potions spilling out. She looked up as Maggie entered, eyes wide.
"Geeeez, woman, don't scar me like that. I thought you were Cloud." She went back to her loot.
Maggie flopped onto the bed, sleep taking her the moment her head hit the pillow. Her last thought was one of a rose...
Beatrix assumed her pilot's position on the bridge. It was her duty to guide them to the next world. She looked over at Cloud, who stood not far from her. "You should get some rest," she said, coldly. She didn't know the full details of why that man had appeared, but it was obvious enough that Cloud had something to do with it. She treated him with cold politeness.
Cloud caught the dismissal in her voice. Beatrix would steer them in toward Hawaii, and her tone made it clear that she did not need help. Specifically, not his help. He left, knowing full well that it was easier to fight Sephiroth than to fight a women intent on shunning you. Well . . . no, not that bad.
He entered a room with a bunk bed, a chest in one corner, and another chest leaning against the opposite wall. He had picked this room when they first boarded the ship at Disney Castle.
The children were picking their rooms at this very moment; he heard a frustrated roar, and smiled. He unstrapped his sword and leaned it up against a corner of the wall, then sat down wearily on the bed, careful not to hit his head on the top bunk.
Somehow, miraculously, he had avoided talking to Leon. Which was. . . good. He felt ridiculously like a child right now, caught doing something wrong, and in trouble, waiting for Dad to come have a talking to him. He scowled, and covered his face with his hands, shaking his head. Beatrix was right, he did need rest. He dropped his hands and began removing his boots.

[[Riku : The Red Rose : Sleeping Quarters -> Observation Deck]]
Riku had followed everyone inside, but never spoke. His mind was stuck on a certain delicate matter he needed to deal with, but couldn't find the right time for. Admitting defeat for the evening, he continued walking through the hallways until he found two large doors that opened to the outside world. He strolled out and looked up at the moon, "I'll just have to tell them in the morning."
The keyblader let out a sigh as he leaned against the wall and slid into a sitting position. He closed his eyes and relaxed. Hopefully, the wind would help him sleep, bringing him warm memories of the wind back home on the beach.

{Kyle : Red Rose : Deck}
"Hey, you can do more than I could in the battle with Kurt Zisa and the mysterious armor fellow. Wait. you weren't there for Kurt Zisa. My bad. Head's feeling a bit wonky right now. Long day and all that jazz. But, anyways, you'd probably be a bit more help than I would. You've got mid level magic attacks, and, no offense, but you don't really need to worry about physical attacks. I've got slow and easy to dodge magic attacks and not to terrific physical battle skills. I mean, maybe I'll be more helpful in Hawaii, since there should be more pure earth than there was here. Still. Well, I'm done complaining for now." He said as he finished up his rant. Ranting was good. Let the steam out, start the new day fresh. Still, he definitely wanted to talk more.
"Mountains huh? I started out in the bamboo thicket, then wandered out on my first day. Guess I got lucky in that regard. But, you know, in the KH games, it takes just a few seconds to traverse the world. Not so much here. Place is freaking HUGE. Took me all day to finally find people. Not only did I wander the opposite way of the city, but my little journey took me to some small little temple. Shaolin monks. Scary." He said as he started shaking his head. They were pretty decent people, but they were scary good fighters. Scary. Good teachers too. It just sucks that katars are more of a weapon used in India than China. I probably would have learned to use them much better.

[Alan :: Red Rose Deck]
"I'm pretty sure I did more damage to you lot than to the enemy against Mister Ice Armor. But whatever. Maybe we should train together, since we're both feeling outclassed."
Alan nodded pensively as Kyle described his journey. "Interesting," he said. "And yeah, this place is definitely larger than it was in the games. How large are these worlds, anyway? I mean, there has to be more to them than we saw in the games, but I wonder how much more. Are they Earth-sized? Is there a Europe in the Land of Dragons if you go west far enough? An America?"

[Axel: Red Rose: ....Clouds Room]
The irritating thing about nobodies was they can be crafty without any remorse. Axel told Cloud he'd leave, for the sake of his concentration and the protection of the earthlings.. and true to his word, he did.
Trick was, Axel didn't specify how FAR he'd go.
From the moment Blonde came in the door with his usual slow derge pacing, a pair of green tinted eyes lifted from the printed page they'd been reading. They watched silently as the buster blade user took off his name sake weapon and proped it against the wall. The tantrum next door covered the soft shifting sound in the bunk above him as he sat down.
As he then proceaded to take off his boots, the sound of unclasping metal buckles was acompanied by the crinkling noise of paper being turned over.
If only smirking had a sound... his smirk would have woke up everyone on the ship. From this day on, it would seem Cloud had a very unexpected roommate. Asuming the children had finished choosing their rooms.

[John.:Red Rose:.John's Room=>Red Rose Deck]
John had found his way to his own room and sighed a little bit. It was a simple room that held nothing to it for him besides the comfort of a bed to sleep in and the privacy of four walls around him. Solitude however, would be his downfall if he was to survive nowadays. Isolation from the world and social detachment were two of his greatest fears for he could not bear to be isolated when a good time was to be had with the rest of the group. He remembered his birthday. He remembered how he was forgotten that day so his parents could take his sister out drinking for her 21st... and he remembers how lonely a place could get when he had no way of getting to someone else to celebrate his own 18th birthday. His step into adulthood had been... traumatizing? No, depressing? Oh, no far from it... disheartening, demoralizing... painful one could say. If one were to examine him on that day, they would not find any signs of suicide, but rather they would find the remnants of a person's soul once filled with energy and now the closest he had ever been since his last attempt at taking his own life... he had learned once that petty things in life are replaced always tenfold by those that would brighten his day. Bearing the depression of life was something everyone faced... it was something that he had known, shared, and dealt with... it was something that he would never again let consume him.
The isolation was killing him, so John left his room in a hurry. Even walking around was better than not knowing if anyone was outside. He made his way to the deck of the Red Rose where he saw Alan, the boy from the tea shop and a new face he hadn't recognized before. He realized the conversation was quiet, so he entered slowly, and quietly came up to the two of them. He dragged the war hammer behind him. The end of it sparked harmlessly a little blue light with each little bump in the floor.
"Evenin' gents. Well, I don't believe I ever caught your name, but I think someone called you Alan, so I'll call you Alan if you don't mind. You probably already know I'm John..." he said softly. "Sorry if I'm interrupting anything... I'm just not up for sleepin' yet, and I got lonely... um... you guys want anything to drink or eat?"
John smiled a bit and laughed to himself.
"My friends would always say that I had "womanly instincts" because I would always do favors for them like get them food or fold clothing or something like that. Can't help it" he chuckled. "I'll get myself something too, but if you all don't mind, I'd like to start off our companion-shipperies with some gesture of goodness. Oh, and I never got your name."
John gestured to Kyle lazily with his hand and smiled.
"I'd also like to know where everyone's from if you all don't mind" he said.

[Alan :: Red Rose Deck]
"Oh," Alan said, "Good evening." The deck was becoming rather populous. It was nice to have a chance to speak with these people for a bit. Both John and Kyle struck him as reasonable, decent sorts - the kind that Alan could make friends of. He was glad for their company. Still, he felt a strange dearth of conversation material. There was too much and yet so little to say.
Alan had better manners than to turn down an offer of drink. He was a guest on their ship, after all, and he knew the laws of hospitality: it is the duty of the host to offer the guest drink, and it is the duty of the guest to accept. "Do you have sake, by any chance? If not, um, any alcohol you do have would be nice. I'd ask for tea, but I think I've had quite enough of that for a while." He smiled a little. If he still suffered under the remnants of a bad mood, it wasn't obvious in the slightest.
"And I'm from Boulder. Colorado. It's a college town, pretty much, right up near the foothills. It's got a bit of a reputation for being a haven for new age artsy types, which I guess is true. It's a pretty nice place to live. Where are you from?"

[[OoC: To anyone planning to add additional posts BEFORE 'going to sleep', do so in the ATE Thread.
The following post occurs once each Earthling has gone to sleep. At the end of the post, everyone will wake up, and it will be the next morning.
Let the narration begin~]]
[ Narration : Dive into the Heart ]
In the midst of their slumbers, each and everything Earthling, no matter their location, no matter their allegiance, would suddenly feel as if they'd entered a lucid, realistic dream. It would feel as if they were hovering in total blackness, but they could see themselves as if they gave off their own spark of light. Their clothing was identical to what they'd worn to sleep, and no matter how they tried, they couldn't change it. No weapons could be drawn, no magic cast... as if they were in some void.
Should they look around, they might see specks of other light to their left and right... others like themselves, too far to make out or hear, or even shout to, but sparks of life none-the-less. Otherwise, this dream scape, this region of nothing was devoid of light...
And then it appeared.
In front of them was the Earth. Rotating slowly, with varying magnitudes of weather in different regions, it seemed as if they were viewing their home from space. They couldn't move or budge from their spot, but they could see with almost pristine detail the geography of the land and seas below. They could even see the thousands of different satellites orbiting the planet, some even passing through them.
In the midst of this vision of home, flashes of life flew through their minds, so vivid and realistic it was as if they'd lived the events themselves. In an instant, they were seeing the daily lives of other Earthlings, other people going through their time at home. People at work in an office, parents playing with children, people soaking up sun at the beach...
But as the flashes of humanity continued, they began to darken. Visions of poverty and famine throughout the world, images of diseases wiping out villages, of cruelty in third-world countries... of cruelty at home, in the houses of people that might have been their own neighbors. Images of war, of blood-soaked battlefields, vivid sounds of gunfire in a war zone, of men in uniform dying, of women and children being herded into camps...
"Help..." The voice was distant, but clear. It was unidentifiable, indistinguishable- was it one person? Was it a thousand? Was it male, female, young, old? Impossible to tell.
On cue, the visions stopped, and all they could see once again was planet Earth. However, there seemed to be a strange... warmth. A thin, luminescent glow surrounded the planet for the briefest of moments, like a dim version of the light around the moon during a solar eclipse. However, the light and warmth were gone before anyone could really make note of it...
And then, the skies darkened. Ominous storm clouds began to envelope the entire planet; rumbles of thunder could be heard by those watching, and they would feel the cold chill down their spine as the visions returned.
The Heartless had arrived.
Vivid images of thousands, millions of Heartless swarming the planet flooded their minds. People fighting and falling, people running for their lives, cities destroyed by the onslaught of the Dark. And then... the visions all stopped, allowing them once more to focus on the planet in front of them... their home.
"... me." The clouds all began to coagulate into a multitude of black-and-crimson portals, and as the viewers could see the Earth again... all they would see is small islands of land, thousands of remnants slowly being sucked away. And a small light, at the center of it all, began to glow, brighter and brighter, blinding them with its intensity.
"This is the way the world ends." The 'dream' had ended. They would all awaken at once, fully rested; however, unlike most dreams... the images remained. The voice was still clear, as if it had been spoken into their very minds... into their very hearts.
It was morning yet again... in the world of Kingdom Hearts.

[ Kyle ; Zexion : Sleeping Car ]
Kyle inhaled sharply, his breath shaky and unstable as his eyes jolted open. He could see the dim glow of sunlight from the window, which revealed the snow had once more caked the ground through the night. But none of that seemed to matter as he slowly sat up, his right hand raising up to his chest to grip the fabric in the center of his chest.
That... was no dream.
He sat there for a moment, replaying it all in his head. The images, the sounds... that voice. So ephemeral... so real. His heart tightened in his chest, almost as if it was trying to curl up. It was always like that, during moments of grief, anxiety, or nostalgia. This was all of the above.
"What's wrong?
"JESUS TAPDANCING-" Kyle shouted before Zexion could even finish his question, jumping a clear foot above his bunk and gasping in fright. He'd totally forgotten that Zexion took the bottom bunk the night before. Slowly recomposing himself, he slid off the top bunk and landed with a small thud, his breathing slowly returning to normal.
"Nothing, I just...," Kyle began to mutter, stretching (in a way that seemed utterly painful... and it was, which was the point, as multiple joints popped). "I had a dream... but I'm almost sure it wasn't just a dream."
Zexion raised an eyebrow and was about to ask another question before Kyle just shook his head. "Have to ask the others first. There's no way I was the only one to see that."
Zexion merely shrugged and watched as the teen walked out of the room, heading toward the Dining Car. He himself stood up and looked out the window, eyes narrowed in thought.

[Joe: Dining Car]
...Jesus...
Joe had snapped awake when the 'dream' ended. Apparently, in his thinking, he had fallen asleep in the booth, with the pizza he had been eating being half gone and cold.
Guess that means I don't have to make the bed, at least...but...that dream...
Sitting up(for he had been lying on the seat, one foot on the floor, the other leg bent with that foot on the seat), the fighter grabbed the pizza and chewed on it. Not cause he was hungry, but because it gave him something to focus on besides something more than just what he saw.
"So...was that how it was destroyed? And...was that it trying to cry for help? ...Dammit.... I couldn't have done anything, could I? Talk about useless...."
Joe chewed some more, lost in his own head. And to think, his head had been filled with plans for the replicas the night before.
