Rhea nodded at Lin. "I'm going to stay up a while longer, I'll try not to wake you when I come to bed."
Not that that would be difficult. She was very quiet after all.
"Just watch out that Senka and Whisper don't pounce you when you walk in," she added, hiding a smile.

Lin tried not to groan when she realized she had forgotten something.
"Thanks for the reminder," she told Rhea before heading down.
The last thing she wanted was to be ambushed by her cat but she had been gone a long while so it was only fair she supposed. Still, Lin managed with a bit of difficultly to get to her bed, and to sleep. Actually the sleeping part wasn't hard she was out like light.

It was well into the next day when Earendil finally woke up, and the first thing he did when he awoke was stretch to rid himself of the stiffness in his arms and legs. His back was a bit sore as well ... maybe he would get Celeb to fix that. The boy was just the perfect weight to walk on his back and make it feel better.
Or, he mused, perhaps he would find Storm or Starr and get one of them to warm some water for him to have a hot bath. That might work even better ...
As he dressed, he wondered what time it was, how long it had been since he had fallen asleep, and whether or not Haldia was feeling better yet.

Lin was already up by this point and was dealing with the Velcro Syndrome often suffered by parents of clingy children, or in this case clingy cats. Haldia's sudden return had not bode well for Senka it didn't help that Lin had not returned with Haldia. So now Lin was trying to do her daily exercises while prying her cat off of her shoulder, head, sometimes wings...
"Senka...." Lin tried to give her cat a look.

He figured the best way to find answers would be to find someone who knew what was going on, and with that in mind, Earendil headed up on deck.
He spotted Lin and Senka right away, and he couldn't help but smile at them. It seemed Senka had missed Lin very much, even though Lin had not been gone long at all.
"Senka," he called out as he approached the two, "I think Lin's trying to do her exercises."

"Hi Earendil," Lin smiled though him coming up distracted her long enough to lose her grip on Senka.
Senka bounded up Lin's arm and up onto her shoulder where she cuddled into the crook of her neck.
"Mine!"

Earendil laughed heartily at Senka's actions. It felt good, as if he was losing stress with the action.
"So," he grinned. "Haldia's back, of course. How is she doing now? Is she better?"

"Well..... I think she had trouble sleeping, the gnomes had a great effect on her psyche...." Lin murmured thoughtfully, "But Celeb was with her the whole time."
So it wasn't like she was alone, but Lin was pretty sure.
"But I think it'll be a long while before Haldia ever goes to the island if she does at all during our stay here."

"Ah, I see," Earendil murmured softly. "I can understand that. Those creatures ... it's hard to believe that they're actually intelligent beings. In a manner of speaking."
In that they weren't animals, at least.
"Though I have to admit, I was looking for Celeb," he admitted. "Maybe I'll go pay the two of them a visit."

"They're probably in Haldia's room, it doesn't help it has been getting colder and of course both Kelirahc and Haldia do not have the clothes for such weather."
Lin murmured looking up at the sky, they haven't gotten any snow yet but she knew they would really be stuck here if it began to ice over.

"Thanks," Earendil smiled. "Senka, Lin needs to do her exercises, and I'm sure she won't be going too far for a while. Give her a bit of a break, eh?"
He chuckled softly and held out one arm to her. "You're welcome to come with me."

Senka pouted and burrowed her head against Lin's neck. It wasn't that she hadn't been as worried about Earendil, it was just Lin took top list still. Oddly enough since Earendil was the one who liked to pet and indulge Senka often.
Lin sighed one more time before once more prying Senka off of her and handing her to Earendil.
"You know Earendil should be upset he was gone longer," Lin murmured.

On cue, Earendil's smile turned upside down, and his brow furrowed as if he were troubled.
"You know how Haldia is," he murmured softly, holding Senka close and nuzzling his nose against her side, "it's quite terrible ... can you imagine being stuck in a freezing cold room only half your size? Can't stand ... can't sit ... can't lay down ..."
He shuddered, then smiled and rubbed the cat's head affectionately. "Actually, that's partially why I'm looking for them," he murmured. "I need Celeb to fix my back."

"I do.... between being stuck in cold stone walls, but from my understanding those things didn't shut up all night. I don't know how anyone can communicate with them vocally much less understand what they're saying."
But Alena had alluded to the fact they understood the gnomes but the gnomes had trouble understanding them. Couldn't learn common elvish or so it seemed.
"At any rate I bet Celeb is in Haldia's room."
Senka purred at the nuzzling, she didn't want to admit it, but she liked being with Earendil, and she really liked this. She nuzzled back forgetting about her clinging tendencies for the moment.

Earendil was just as much a sucker for attention as Senka was, and he kept nuzzling into her side.
"Thanks, Lin," he grinned. "Have fun with your exercises. See you in a bit!"
And with a quick wave, he headed off towards the main quarters.
