Two familiar dunderheads, armor clunking with every step they took, halted in front of the drow's cabin. They have been to the Training Grounds but then the recruits directed them to the Temple, but by the time they got there he'd apparently already left. The guards figured this would be the only other place the Captain could be.
...Unless he went back to the Training Grounds again. Can't he stay put for once?
Normally there would only be one of them reporting to the Captain, but seeing as this was a special occasion the two decided to report in together.

All good is hard, and all evil is easy. Dying, losing... Oh, fantastic, was the thought that went through Jessie's head upon spying the Armory guards waiting outside his cabin. Another day, another needless notice about nothing.
They seemed to be arguing about whether or not they should continue to wait - apparently it had been several minutes since they'd knocked. He swept up behind them like a silent mist.
"Good morning, gentlemen," he said, tone only close to pleasant "Your report, I presume?" ...Cheating and mediocrity are easy. Stay away from easy.

((This happens a few hours earlier than the current timeframe.))
The shrill crying of seagulls... The rustling of leaves... The faint crashing of waves against the shore... Coline awoke to these familiar sounds. She opened her eyes slowly, her head still raised up to the shattered ceiling of the cave. It was morning. Judging by the color of the sky, as she'd always assume, it was just about time for morning prayer.
"Morning prayer..." she whispered to herself. Come to think of it she never got to attend the day before. Scolding herself inwardly for her lapse in faith she sat herself up more upright. "Hm?" What was this? She pulled up from her form some sort of... jacket. But who would-- Pausing for a moment, Coline managed a small smile, and went on to fold it neatly upon her lap. "Sweet boy... I hope he made it back okay."
Placing the folded jacket next to the big rock she'd been resting against she let out a soft sigh, giving her injuries a quick survey. The cuts on her arms from her encounter with Bapp had already shown signs of healing, however little. Her bandaged leg was looking rather nasty though; she remembered the wound opening up, again, during the fight from the night before. Those bandages needed changing, stat.
The recruit bent over to reach into one of her pouches and pulled out the disinfectant, gauze, and bandages, and administered the same procedure. After a few minutes of stinging treatment her leg had been bandaged anew, and she picked herself up from the floor slowly to have a good look around. The cave looked somewhat inviting in broad daylight albeit its ruined state. In her eyes, anyway. She wouldn't mind staying here for... for...
"...For how long?" Coline whispered, eyes cast downward in shame.

"GUWAAAAAH!!!" he cried out, his partner demonstrating the highest level of intelligence known to Armory guards by planting his face squarely against the door. In his defense the Captain did startle him, but it was an amusing sight all the same.
It took only a few seconds for the two to straighten themselves back up and they faced him. "Sir!" they acknowledged in unison before slumping back into their usual sloppy stance.
One of them sported a self-conceited look while the other had been wiping a bloodied nose. The former spoke first. "Spot on!" he said with noticeable optimism, handing the small piece of paper over to the Captain. "Report from the Armory, sir!"
Written on it in big bold shaky letters were:
THERE IS SOMETHING TO REPORT.
Fascinating, how their minds work.

--- --- "Here it is." Bapp pushed away the foliage covering the entrance of the cave and went in.
This cave is pretty weird though. It looks like it wasn't made through natural means...
Seeing sunlight in the depths of the cave, he knew that was where he and Coline fought last night. He approached Coline, looking down.
"Yo! I see you're still here." He greeted her, ruffling her hair with his hand.
He put down the bag he was carrying and pulled out the first aid kit, together with some food like sandwiches, biscuits and jerky.
"Thought you'd be hungry, so I came back."

All good is hard, and all evil is easy. Dying, losing... Jessie waited for them to re - or de, depending on how you looked it it - compose themselves with an air of lofty amusement. He accepted the scrap of paper and glanced over the five words, lips twitching into a small smile. Were they really serious? Really?
"Excellent work," he said, voice dripping with sarcasm. Looking back up at them, he continued, in a slightly louder but still airily dismissive tone. "Well? What is it, then?" ...Cheating and mediocrity are easy. Stay away from easy. ((EDIT: Edited the last bit just slightly))

Upon feeling pressure upon her head, an alarmed Coline jumped back and assumed a fighting stance, only to relax again once she'd realized who it was. She was far too consumed with her thoughts that she failed to acknowledge his voice earlier on. "...Bapp?" she muttered mindlessly, brows furrowed in confusion. Why did he come back?
Then it occurred to her. The recruit bent down and took the neatly-folded jacket into her hands. He must have come back for this. "Here you... go." she trailed off, turning to see the boy rummage through his things for... what appeared to be food and medicine. Her hand clasped over her mouth immediately upon realizing what--rather, who--they were for.
"Y-You really don't have to, really!" she insisted. But now that he was here it would be rude of her to decline his kind gesture. Biting her lip, Coline lowered her head down to a deep bow. "I... I'm sorry for the trouble. It must have been a tiring hike."
====
"Weeeell, since you asked..." he began, finger rubbing under his nose. With a clenched fist and an undecipherable expression he spoke again. "Last night, the Valiant Guardians of the Holy Armory--that's us--engaged a most detestable foe in a flurry of combat! Hah! He was a fool to think he can slip through the eyes of Hawk-eye Blue!" he closed his eyes, "Right there he was, staring me down like the Devil himself. But I was not shaken, sir! I swung with my spear with all my strength, with all my might, and then BAM! Right in the leg!" he was practically crying now, "It was... so beautiful... Brings me back to the old days..."
...
"We had a break-in, sir."

All good is hard, and all evil is easy. Dying, losing... Jessie listened, arms folded and almost comically unaffected by "Hawk-eye Blue's" account of the daring encounter. He exchanged a look with the man's companion, who immediately gave a more coherent explanation.
Jessie's eyebrow rose, his expression otherwise stony. "A break in. And you waited until now to tell me?"
As the two guards fumbled to justify themselves, he cut them off with a wave of his hand. "It doesn't matter. I assume, from your explanation, that the thief was captured and is being held in your custody?" ...Cheating and mediocrity are easy. Stay away from easy.

--- --- "Hahahaha, not at all. This distance is chicken feed." He grinned, picking up his jacket and sliding his arms through them.
"The first aid's for your wounds. There's pretty much a bit of everything, so you should have no problem treating that." He glanced at the gash on her leg.
"I'm not very sure why you came here, how long you were going to stay and why you're doing this... with barely any preparations." He glanced at her pouch. "But I can't just leave you on your own here."
He stood up and began to walk deeper into the cave.
"I'm going to explore this cave a bit. Something's bugging me."

((I'm fine with it either way. o3o))
"Umm... Actually, sir, he... kinda got away." he answered hesitantly. "We managed to corner him inside but he broke the door open and... well... escaped. Didn't think it was possible, sir, but we saw it with our own eyes."
"BUT! But we left a mark on 'im!" the guard traced a line slowly over his leg. "Riiight there. Can't have gone too far with a cut like that."
====
"Ah, yes. It was... a last-minute decision." With a small smile Coline gave the boy another bow. Words weren't enough to express her gratitude. "Thank you for your help. Trust that your kindness will not go unrewar-- huh?"
She rose her head just in time to see Bapp about to venture deeper into the cave. "W-Wait!" she called out. Taking hold of her trident, Coline took a few paces towards him. "Please, allow me to assist you. It's the least I can do."
