Our managers are like a cross between coaches and players. Sometimes they are instructed to play matches with us and play with us during practice. Other times they feed us balls and stuff like that. Pretty much like players who don't actually participate in matches.
And you just counted for me.

I thought it was weird how I suddenly went from 9,080 to 9,006.
Sounds like your managers are actually legit.
9,005 I literally almost started counting for you again like 10 seconds right after I wrote that first sentence.

Yeah they are, and they play for varsity on the guy's team (our managers are always guys) so that's a bonus.

I think having an actual manager who's also on varsity would have been nice. So the managers for girls' teams are always guys, and vice versa?

Yeah because it doesn't make any sense to have a girl manager who isn't already on the girls team. The only other people who can do it are the guys. And since boys and girls tennis are in different seasons it works out nicely.

That makes sense. So you're also on the tennis team?

We've all been kind of busy... >>
That's okay though, my old doubles partner is coming back home for Labor Day, and I actually just shot her a text before I saw this.

I get that, and especially with school starting.
So lately I've been having to wrap my wrist before I play tennis otherwise it really hurts to play. Have you had anything like that before?

Yeah, I've got quite a history of injuries my tennis season freshman year, and that's happened to me a couple of times :/ It stinks. I know you're in the middle of your season, but if anything, I would suggest actually taking a day of rest if possible to first eliminate the pain. It's basic, but it's honestly the best solution to prevent your wrist from becoming even worse. Just use your wrist as little as possible that day, add a brace for extra support and just to remind yourself. Heck, if you need to (or if you don't want to skip practice just yet), wear a brace during normal school hours, because it can keep you from over exerting your wrist before you even play. Sometimes tape honest to god just doesn't cut it because it keeps bunching up and slipping and stuff, so you might want to invest in one of those soft braces that wraps around your wrist and reinforces your wrist by going around your thumb. Make sure you get one that goes around your thumb. It makes a world of a difference for me. You can get one at any Walgreens. Try the whole ice pack/a hot compress procedure too if you haven't already.
I would also suggest you look at how you're making contact with the ball with your racquet. God knows I'm no coach nor was I ever meant to be one, but I've found through personal experience that my wrist often hurt if my form was off, especially in my forehand. It could be your timing/grip/swing/stance/follow-through. But my best advice would be to first look at your backswing. Maybe you're taking too large of a backswing with shots that have a lot of power, or maybe your backswing is just flat out too large, which makes your wrist compensate (<-- that was my biggest culprit).
It could also be that your wrist is just plain old over-exerted from lots of practice, so then your best bet is just rest.
In hindsight, maybe this response was overkill, but hopefully something up there helps.

My mom probably has a brace for my wrist. She's been injured a lot so we have that kind of stuff.
Honestly, I think my serves are what's causing the trouble. I just haven't been serving right and I know it.
I also rolled an ankle a couple weeks ago on an overhead and that threw me off for a while.

Yeah, the first thing to go when I haven't played for a long time is my serve -_-
AAAAAGHHH, you've just landed on my #1 injury. I've rolled both my ankles so many times, I lost count years ago. They stink.
Whatever the problem is, I hope your wrist (+ ankle) recover quickly for a smooth season.

Last year my friend rolled her ankle (on an overhead) so bad that she couldn't finish the season.
Thanks, taping it everyday seems to be working. And it doesn't hurt to slice anymore so that must mean I'm recovering.
