Meiling the Mighty Dub speak, eh? I have one thing to say about all that: COWBOY
BEBOPI've never seen it in Japanese, and I probably never will. Bandai changed Ein's value when the thief tried to sell him. To me, there is no such thing as a small change so I am not watching it dubbed again until I finish the Japanese version.

The price doesn't matter, it has nothing to do with the story. More importantly,

I couldn't care less how good the dub is even though Cowboy Bebop had better characterization in the dub, the Japanese version is the original and therefore the version I consider canon.
To me, Ein will always be worth 100 woolongs with the carrying case included. Yes, I do take into account "minor" details like that when judging a dub.
But I'm not going to try and change your mind. Besides, I make it a point not to take any notice of a dub actor unless I hate a particular dubbing job by the person.

Voices have nothing to do with canon.
Best > original.
You don't see soldiers marching into battle with flintlocks and whatnot anymore, now do you?
Now, sleep time for me.

Bleah, I seem to get so much hostility for completely basing my entire perception off the original version of something. :/
I do not want to watch enough dubbed anything be able to imagine a person as portrayed in the dub, and it tortures me that it's taking so long to forget how a lot of characters sound dubbed.
So what I basically do is watch the original version. And watch it. And watch it. Until no amount of dub watching will change my perception of the characters or story.

Dub, Sub Who cares? I like both versions of an anime but then comes some where i find Subs better (SGT.Frog) and in rare cases, the English Dub sounding better. My sister watches only Official Dubs (like funimation and s**t) and i can tolerate both. Not one version is the best. If anything, you should read Mangas as well. Usually it starts with the Manga then it becomes an anime. If you want small detail, Spice Wolf manga started where our hero was talking to a male in the first part. In the anime it was a female. Another one is in the Anime you didn't see much of Holo during her change but in the Manga you get to see her hand grow freaking huge.
So they changed the price of Ein. That's translation for ya (some dubs mistranslate some parts). If i were you i would direct your attention to the Manga they are based on first, then "Original" and then onward.
