Mathias winced as two more arrows struck his chest. He swung his sword and lost his balance, stumbling. "Damn it!" Mathias kneeled down, stabbing his sword into the ground. A massive wall of shadow energy burst around him, locking the sword into the ground with a message and a beacon that only his family could find. Gasping for air, Mathias tried to stand up but fell back, slipping into unconciousness.

The Captain pointed to some guards and they bound up Mathias and they took him off to a torture chamber to restrain and break him if they were lucky

Hang on - before I post and make some stupid mistake - Scn, is the 'beacon' on Mathias's sword actually calling to his family so that they come find it, or is it just kinda there for them to stumble over when they come looking for him?))

(you lucky and lazy piece of lard. i have to wake up at 7:10 every morning.)
Balon has been in there for a while now. he should be getting out soon. he thought to himself. that what not what concerned him. he group of 4 had not moved in a long time now. what could have caught their attention so much. they weren't fighting so they had to be talking but about what?

Engela had just let go of her passive observation when Mathias ran afoul of the scouts. She felt nothing. Without contact from him, she had no reason to think that anything was wrong.
Still, she didn't sleep. She remained at her window, staring out into the night as she had almost twenty years before, the night of her first meeting with him - in her Engela incarnation, anyway.
She had no reason to think anything was wrong.
But every instinct she had confirmed that something was.

Leon heard something rustling he jolted awake he looked around it seemed peaceful but silent dangerously silent not even the animals were making a sound he looked at his wife and whispered "something doesn't feel right..."

Vix, half-asleep, glanced at him. "Hmm? Maybe you're just paranoid," she said sleepily. If she had been fully awake, she might have felt it as well, but at the moment all she wanted to do was go back to sleep. "I'm sure Mathias and Engela would know if anything was wrong."

Leon looked at his wife she needed rest that much was obvious and maybe she was right maybe he was just being paranoid again but something just wasn't sitting right he couldn't seem to fall back asleeep he looked over at Alex and Naomi both peacefully asleep

Vix remained awake a moment longer. Then she lifted a brow. "What do you think is wrong?" she asked at last, with the air of a tired parent humoring a stubborn child.

((Sleeping. xD I suppose I'll bring in a long-lost friend. xD))
Michael was walking around the streets late at night. There really was nothing to do. He looked toward the Silverwolf's house and noticed that there seemed to be nobody within it. Sure, it's night time anyway, but he just had that feeling that they weren't there.
Also, he discovered that Naomi wasn't in her apartment. He found that she tended to stay up late at night, but the TV and the lights in her apartment were all off. Nobody lived in the apartment besides her, for fear she'd burn it down. Besides, Naomi's aura was no longer in the apartment room.
The Artemis kid that Michael seemed to pass often was not in his house, he couldn't detect his aura. No, he wasn't stalking around. He couldn't sense any of their auras.
And finally, that hobo girl wasn't around anywhere. It was strange that they all happened to be away. Michael sighed and continued to walk.

Vix began to say something along the lines of yes, it is quiet, that's what happens at three in the morning when everyone's asleep, the way we should be, but then went quiet and really listened.
Even at night, there should have been a bit of animal activity. A bit of something or other. But she heard nothing.
Still, Mathias and Engela would know if something was wrong near their home. So she shook her head. "I'm sure it's all right," she said quietly. "Maybe it's always like this. We're used to city life now, after all."

Leon nodded at Vix and said "yea...i suppose your right that must be all it is" he yawned "well i'm gonig to try and fall back asleep now..."
Alex was smiling in his sleep as he held Naomi close...he felt at peace unaware of his father's feelings or anything around him that was going on
