The Karate Chop connected with Napalm's head with an audible 'thud'. Huzzah! The Machop let out a happy cry at the successful strike, but the recipient of the attack was far less amused. With an angry honk, Napalm took in a deep breath and raised his head up high. The intense rise in heat began to kill the surrounding grass that wasn't already cooked from the Fire Spin as flames swirled around the baby Pokemon. After a moment's conjuring, the Magby loosed a powerful Overheat on the Machop. The opposing Pokemon was flung back by the explosive move and rolled uncontrollably through the wall of fire surrounding both Pokemon.
Mike's sympathy for the Machop was severely outweighed by just how efficiently his Pokemon had used that move. It was much faster than last time, but it did not seem rushed in terms of power. All this training was paying off. "Keep up your guard Napalm."
Napalm did not break his focus. After a few moments of inactivity, the Magby walked through the Fire Spin to investigate. Sure enough, the enemy Machop was a smoking ruin on the ground. The physical strain coupled with the heat was too much for his body to take, as much of a powerhouse as he was. The Live Coal Pokemon gave his opponent a congratulatory pat on the head. The battle would only make it stronger, and he was sure that if he was conscious he would agree.
"Good fight kiddo." remarked the boy as he surveyed his Pokemon. "A few bumps and scrapes. Nothin' bad." Napalm shrugged nonchalantly, accepting his victory with modesty. Unfortunately that moment would not last, as a light blue blur burst from the bushes and body checked the Magby across the dirt.
Mike jumped back defensively and saw that the attacker was none other than the other Machop that Napalm had sent flying into the woods just minutes ago. He looked hurt, but it seemed his anger was letting him fight through the pain. "Looks like we still got another fight on our hands." Mike said, snapping his fingers. A small flame sparked as his gloved fingers slid against each other. "Take him down!"

((My last post was on page 28, in case you need to know. Sorry for not posting for so long. I'll try my hardest to catch up.))
"Excuse me... excuse me... sorry," Ky muttered repeatedly as he navigated Goldenrod's forest of people. It had been a long time since Ky had last been in a big city, back when he was a kid growing up near Saffron. The stream of busy, towering adults flooded the streets just as before and gave Ky little to no idea of the direction he was heading. Every now and then, a break in the stream would give him the chance to search for signs leading him to the Pokecenter, but as soon as he realized he had seen the exact same sign three times before, he knew it was time for a rest.
Finding a nearby bench, Ky plopped down in exhaustion. Not enjoying the abrupt movement, Rex shuffled and groaned in Ky's lap before returning to sleep. Though a bit irritated from being lost, Ky couldn't help but enjoy the night scenery of Goldenrod. Though the skyscrapers themselves weren't anything of a marvel, the sheer amount of lights shining off of them gave another golden touch to the city's atmosphere. The people seemed to enjoy themselves as well. Friends chatted and laughed. Kids walked circles around their parents as they all ate various treats. Couples held hands, smiling as they looked up past the buildings into the night sky, dreaming of the day they would eventually...
"Hey kid, cute little scar Pokemon there. Where'd you get'm? The Pokepound?" came the voice of a loud, teenage girl with a snide, sarcastic sneer pasted to her face. Two slightly older guys stood beside her with their arms crossed, snickering and snorting. "Heh, Pokepound. Good one," they said in turn. The three kids were all strangely-dressed with black-and-white striped shirts and blue jeans, all with hair that looked to be dyed black. In addition, the girl also wore black lipstick with a small, black nose ring in her right nostril.
Ky smirked. "Cute nose ring. Where'd you get it? A toy store?" Ky asked with a mimicking tone. As expected, one of the guys snapped, and before Ky knew it, he was being held up against the wall behind him with a left fist pressing his shirt collar into his throat. Having been woken up by the intruders, Rex had already leapt to the side of the bench, growling with his teeth bared. Nearby people simply watched in confusion.
"Take that back, kid," the older boy threatened, his other fist posed to strike.
"Reh.. reh.. xxs," Ky said, coughing.
"What was that?!" the boy asked, gritting his teeth as he put less pressure on Ky's throat.
Ky's eyes suddenly glared. "Rex! Bite!" he ordered.
Immediately, a siren in the distance sounded. "Hold it right there!" came a female voice through a megaphone.
"s**t! It's Jenny!" the boy muttered distastefully as he dropped Ky back into the bench, running in the opposite direction towards his comrades. Having already seen Officer Jenny's signature motorbike, the girl and the other boy had already began to book it and were quickly shoving their way through the crowd.
Meanwhile, Ky sat coughing lightly as he held his throat. Rex simply stood watching as Officer Jenny approached.
"Well, that was easier than I thought. You must be Ky, correct?" she said in a strong, sincere tone. Ky looked up and nodded. "Come with me. I'll give you a ride to the Pokecenter."

The ride with Officer Jenny was remarkably fast thanks to her innate knowledge of the city's streets. Along the way, Ky listened as she scolded him:
"Ky, I know you were in a tough situation, but if I hadn't stopped you, you would have commited a serious crime," she explained. "Never, under any circumstances are you allowed to attack a human with a Pokemon. As a crime, it would be treated as attacking with a weapon, and depending on the move used, it could send you to prison if the move is considered lethal. Lucky for you, I don't think your Totodile would've even budged. Pokemon tend to dislike attacking humans, especially by command."
Ky could only listen intently. He hadn't really thought of what he had done; it simply felt like he was asking for help. Nevertheless, he could understand. He soon felt the bike come to a stop.
"Don't worry about it though. You look like a smart kid, so just keep yourself outta trouble, okay?" she asked with a stern smile.
Ky returned the smile as he got out of the bike's side car, once again holding Rex in his arms. "Thanks Officer Jenny," he said politely as she sped off back towards the city. With a small stretch and a yawn, Ky entered the Pokemon Center.
A sleepy Nurse Joy suddenly sat up at Ky's arrival. "Ah, you must be the "little squirt" I'm supposed to wait for, though I was supposed to see a Natu, not a Totodile," she said with a smile. Ky simply looked confused. "Your friend said to tell you that he had some business to take care of and that you don't have to worry about him. He'll see you at the Beach Party."
"It's his Pokemon I worry about, not him," Ky said coldly.
"Well, I know I'm talking to the right person then," she said with a sigh. "Oh yes, would you like me to heal your Pokemon?"
"Yes, please," Ky answered sluggishly. He had a long, tiresome day and really felt like going to sleep. Seeing this, Nurse Joy helped take the Totodile out of his hands along with his two Pokeballs. "Will it be okay if I sleep on the couch here tonight?" Ky asked, heading in that direction.
"Of course," Nurse Joy answered. "I could tell by his Pokemon's fatigue levels that you guys had one heck of a battle, and looks to be the same here for you..." Only half-listening, Ky continued on his way to the couch until he heard Nurse Joy's outburst. "Oh! Oh spectacular!" Caught off-guard, Ky could only stare back with a quizzical look. Nurse Joy smiled. "Oh nothing, nothing. Get to sleep. You've had a tough day. You're Pokemon will be fully healed by morning." And with that, Ky walked over, took his backpack off, and collapsed on the couch.

As Napalm skidded to a halt, a few choice words ran through his mind. It's pretty weak attacking someone when they are resting from another battle. Sure, the battle was with this Machop's friend, and to engage in said fight he had to take a cheap shot himself, but still! They knew the risks when they started sparring in an open area. Well, okay, it was a somewhat hidden area, and he did just barge in on it without warning. He could have easily walked up and asked for a fight. Fancy that, he was the cheap shooter. Ah well, he got his revenge shot, so now the two were even.
"Alright Napalm, let's show him your Psychic again." Mike took a deep breath. His previous feelings of frustration being pushed out with each slow exhale. Battling always made him feel better. "I want to see this one ended quick."
The Machop heard Mike's command for a Psychic and charged forward, not willing to allow the lumpy lizard a stress free working environment. He yelled and screamed as he ducked down for a Low Kick, hoping to catch the Magby off balance. Napalm closed his eyes to concentrate for just a second, but the noisy Machop made it very hard to gather his powers. Having your legs kicked out from under you didn't help. Napalm was sent spiraling into the air, his large head making for a rather amusing spin. Rather sick of free falling, the Magby threw his arms out, stopping suddenly in midair. His eyes glowed the trademark blue as he let loose another Psychic wave. The distortion rippled through the air and impacted the Machop, sending him harshly into the ground. The earth beneath him cracked as the telekinetic attack dispersed in a violent blast of energy.
"That's the way!" cheered Mike, pumping a fist in the air.
Napalm landed softly on the ground; the dead, brittle ground and walked over to inspect his foe. Knockout. Funny, this battle ended just like the last one: with him walking over like some sort of police officer at a crime scene. He shrugged, a win is a win after all.
"As always, nice work Napalm." the boy flicked a stray bang from his eyes and knelt down beside his Pokemon. The Magby took advantage of the opportunity and jumped onto his trainer's back. He felt like being carried for a little bit. Mike grunted a bit at Napalm's weight. "You're getting a little heavy there dude." He said through a strained smile. He must have weighed a good fifty, sixty pounds. "But alright, I'll let you ride for a little bit." He glanced at his Pokenav. It was around two o' clock. "Might as well go for a little walk."

Ky woke up the next morning with the feeling of someone lightly jabbing him in the side, followed by an older boy's voice. "Hey kid, wake up."
"But I wanted tuna..." Ky responded groggily, apparently in a sleepy stupor. Amused, the older boy continued. "Hey, I'm doing you a favor here. You better get up soon or the line'll get long. Last chance."
Ky then sat up slowly, rubbing his eyes and giving a long stretch with his arms and legs. "Line?" Ky asked, opening one eye while rubbing another. The guy leaning over him looked to be a trainer just under 18, and a professional-looking one at that. The first thing Ky noticed was what looked like a Pokemon trainer utility belt, complete with six full, shiny Pokeball slots on his right, three empty potion bottles on his left, and a coil of rope hanging from his side. Along with this, the trainer wore boots, jeans, an orange vest with a black undershirt, sunglasses, and a matching orange cap sporting the Pokemon Ranger logo. "Ranger?"
The trainer chuckled when he saw Ky gawk somewhat at his attire. "Yeah, though I'm supposed to be off duty today. Came here to ref the final Goldenrod tournament before the party in Slateport. But, I just happened to get a call from the Day Care Center. Said you and two friends were attacked by ghosts in Ilex Forest. Are either of them here with you?"
Ky frowned. "Nope. Both of them left. One went to Hoenn and I don't know where the other is," Ky answered.
The ranger thought for a bit and then stood up straight. "Well, as long as one of you is here. If you wouldn't mind, could you follow me back to Ilex Forest to show me where the attack was? Take all the time you need, but I'd like to get done before dark."
Ky thought a bit himself. It wasn't like he had much to do today anyway. "Sure, I just need to get my Pokemon and eat."
"Good. Just find me over at the trainer's lounge in the back. I tend to get lots of questions from random trainers, so I'll stay busy," the ranger said as he began to walk away. "Oh, and my name's Tracy if you need to call me."
After watching Tracy walk away, Ky stretched once again before heading over to the counter. The line definitely started to build up behind him as Tracy mentioned. "Must be the tournament he was talking about," Ky mumbled.
"I was wondering when you were going to wake up," Nurse Joy greeted as Ky stepped up. For some reason though, her voice was horribly faint. Her smile looked obviously forced, and easily faded to a look of distress. "Ky, I... I.... don't know how to say this..." she stuttered. The pause afterward was long and uncomfortable.
Ky could only stare back, confused and worried. "Huh? What's wrong? Are they okay? Sting? Rex? Lit..."
"Sting and Rex are fine Ky!" Nurse Joy yelled desperately, sounding near panic. "It's your Natu..." she choked. "We lost your Natu last night."

Ky was speechless. He couldn't believe his ears. He couldn't even breathe. Feelings of anger and disbelief mixed in violently with his emotions. "What do you mean Little Guy is gone?! I didn't... he couldn't... why didn't you wake me up earlier?!" he yelled. Everyone around him was dead quiet. Could this really be happening? Flustered and confused, Ky couldn't even look Nurse Joy in the eyes as tears began to well up. That is, until Nurse Joy suddenly smiled, holding her finger up like she just realized something.
"Oh! I'm so cruel! I never said Little Guy was gone! Oh no no no no... I said your Natu was gone!" Nurse Joy explained, winking mischieviously. "In fact, he's back in the infirmary if you want to see him."
It took Ky a couple seconds to register what was going on, but once he did, his eyes lit up as all of his emotions took an immediate u-turn. Though still angry at Nurse Joy for making such a heartless joke, he couldn't help but smile. "Really?" he asked. She nodded.
Like a kid on Christmas day, he raced around the counter, shot through the double doors and stopped. Perched at the end of one of the beds was a green bird almost as tall as Ky was, staring off into space, even as Ky entered. Back at the Violet City Pokemon Academy, Ky had only seen pictures of Xatu. Never once had he seen one in real life, even with Falkner nearby. Now, he had one. "Little Guy?" Ky questioned stupidly. Without looking, Little Guy responded in a voice that could only be heard in Ky's head:
"Nasty trick, that Nurse Joy pulled. One I shouldn't forgive. To play my trainer off as a fool, She must not want to live!"
Ky couldn't help but run over and hug his newly-evolved buddy, laughing as he was consumed in bliss. As expected, Little Guy remained unflinching from his post, though even he decided to cover Ky with a white-winged hug and soon began to coo as Ky once again found his favorite feathers to scratch.

The wild Sentret stumbled back, nearly knocked over by the attack. But it managed to right itself before completely toppling over, and quickly swiped at Cyndaquil. The fire-type Pokemon winced at the Scratch attack, but held his ground firmly. "Use Ember now!" Kurine commanded, her hands balled into fists, her feet firmly on the ground. The flames on Cyndaquil's back flared up, and he opened his mouth, sending a small blast of fire at the Sentret, who let out a little high-pitched cry as the flames hit it dead on. The damage was reduced slightly because of the wild Pokemon's earlier Defense Curl, but not by much.
The Sentret lunged forward with another Scratch attack, its claws slicing down the side of Cyndaquil's body, causing the Pokemon to give its own cry of pain.
"Cyndaqui, are you all right?" Kurine called to her Pokemon worridly, right hand now held up loosly by her chin. Cyndaquil nodded and stood up straighter on his feet, showing that he was still plenty fit for battling. Kurine smiled a bit and said, "Another Ember!" The Sentret tried to jump out of the way this time, but the flames still mostly hit it, and the Pokemon toppled over, unable to battle any longer.
"Yay!" Kurine exclaimed enthusiastically, smiling wide, before bending down to pat her little Cyndaquil on the head, giving him a hug as well. "You did so awesome! I'm so proud of you!" She praised the Pokemon, before returning him to his Pokeball.
Kurine made her way out of the tall grass, avoiding any more wild Pokemon for now, and made her way down the path towards the PokeCenter.

"Oddish? O-ddiish!" Train called softly, gently pushing some of the tall grass out of her way, to look around for the little purple body of her lost Pokemon, but to no avail. She searched around for a few more moments, then stood up and unclipped Oddish's Poke Ball from her belt. "Oddish, return! Return!" She paused, hoping to the Poke Ball open and return her Oddish to her in the beam of red light, but nothing happened, and she could only look at it unhappily.
Still holding the Poke Ball, the girl called for Pikachu, and a puzzled expression took over the distressed one she had been wearing when the Pokemon did not respond. Oh, no! She hadn't lost her Pikachu, too, had she?!
Train quickly headed through the grass, glancing around quickly for her Pokemon. Finally, after seemed like way to long, she spotted the top of a square yellow tail through the grass, and said, "Pikachu?"
The electric-mouse Pokemon glanced up quickly, then looked back at whatever he had been focusing on that was more important than his trainer's call. Train edged over quietly, then stopped and peered at the little Oddish that Pikachu was mumuring to quietly, trying to comfort the little Pokemon. The Oddish had not seen her yet, so Train said the Pokemon's name softly as well. Oddish glanced up fearfully, but Train quickly returned the little Pokemon to her Poke Ball, giving a huge sigh of relief as Pikachu walked over to her.
Train scooped up the Pokemon and gave him a big hug. "I'm so glad you found her! When you didn't respond to my call, I thought I'd lost both of you, but now I've got you both back!" She didn't know how she managed to get so attatched to her Pokemon in such a short time, but she did, and she didn't what she would've done if she hadn't found the two. Train let Pikachu scramble onto her shoulder, then looked down at herself again, sighing for what seemed like the billionth time as she got another look at her ruined clothes.
"Looks like it's time to go shopping," Train said, though she smiled and rolled her eyes slightly, heading down the path that led back to Pewter City.

When Kasiya opened her eyes, she felt as though she'd been asleep for hours. She yawned and stretched and sat up, rubbing her eyes before stealing a glance at the clock - and nearly fell over when she saw that only about fifteen minutes had gone buy since she was asleep. A sudden thought came over her though and she quickly whipped out her PokeNav to check the date and sighed with relief when she saw that it was still Friday and she had not been asleep for twenty-four hours. She stood up, putting the device back into her pocket, wondering if perhaps she had just discovered the true meaning of the phrase 'power nap' as she headed towards the desk. The nurse was seated in front of her computer, imputing data. She smiled up at Kasiya when she saw the girl approach and pointed at a tray resting nearby. Kasiya thanked her and took the tray back over to the couch and plopped down. After making sure her Pokemon were in their rightful positions she grabbed her bag and headed outside. She could feel the egg moving even though it was still safe and sound inside her backpack and she smiled to herself. Must be a feisty little guy in there! she thought, nearly bursting with excitement. Don't make me wait too long to meet you!
She wandered a bit aimlessly through Mauville, not really sure what to do to pass the time until Keegan caught up with her. For a moment she toyed with the idea of heading straight to Slateport but decided against it. There was probably a whole lot of people going there right now and she wasn't in the mood to deal with crowds already. Not only that but she was certain there would be nowhere to stay once she got there. She also considered going shopping but she didn't have a lot of money left and it wouldn't be very productive. Then again she could always go and do a bit more training but after their last training session, Rosemary was pretty wiped out, and Levi too. Shocker and Ariel were fine, and Ada too but that was because she slept through the whole things. Perhaps she'd head off and train with the Larvitar a bit. The Rock-type had shown some serious progress lately and Kasiya couldn't wait to see what Adamantine was fully capable of.
After a bit of walking she found herself passing by the Daycare Center. She walked along the fence waving and smiling at the multitude of Pokemon that were currently being cared for. An adorable Pikachu dashed up to her and began to chatter excitedly at her, and suddenly she couldn't help but miss when Shocker was still a Pikachu. Granted she was a lot tougher and faster now but she missed how small and cuddly a Pikachu was. She waved goodbye to the small, electric mouse and continued on her way, stopping suddenly again but only because she realized this was where she'd first met up with M.A. M.A. had left her PokeNav at the Pokemon Center in Mauville and Kasiya had offered to return it to her, although she had to admit that she didn't think she made a very good impression on her new friend that day, what with falling off her bike and all. That day had also been the last time she saw Mitsu, and she couldn't help but wonder where her purple-haired friend was now and if she'd see her at the Beach Party tomorrow. Kasiya walked far enough until she was at the pond where they'd stopped to rest (she recalled Nightmare's happy roars with a smile) and she set down her bag. She was glad to have found a secluded spot away from others, but at the same time she couldn't help but miss having someone with her. She forced the thought from her head and sighed. No, she wasn't alone, she had her Pokemon! And that was something to be grateful for.

I shouldn't have yelled at her... Keegan thought as he walked along, hands stuffed deeply in his jeans pockets. In truth he wasn't really mad about the match at all, but he was annoyed at himself for shouting at Sheena. It wasn't her fault that Sparky had gotten confused and attacked Artemis by mistake. The redhead glanced behind him, noting that Sheena was still dragging her heels and looking quite miserable, and he sighed. He almost missed her constantly cheery and bubbly attitude although he did like the quiet. Keegan could see Mauville rising up in front of them and he sighed with relief. The trip from Lavaridge was always faster going back to Mauville, something which Keegan was grateful for. The route was straightforward and easy to traverse, and any trainers they did meet on the way were either ignored or told off. Keegan could have sworn that he heard Sheena giggle when he told a geeky-looking kid in glasses to shove off, but it was short lived and soon she was back to being mopey.
"You know if you're going to dawdle I'm just going to leave you behind," he called loftily behind him. A second or so later he heard Sheena's footsteps quicken and very soon she was only a few feet behind. For a minute he thought she was going to say something, but she continued to walk in silence. Keegan wracked his brains for something helpful and uplifting to say but that sort of thinking was not his strong point. Instead he just stayed quiet, fully knowing that his remarkable ability to say the wrong thing at the wrong time could end up making Sheena feel even worse.
It had been roughly two hours of walking and now the duo was coming up to some very familiar sights - the Winstrate house as well as that irritating blockage of boulders that inexplicably always found their way into the path of trainers who wanted to pass this way. Sheena followed behind Keegan slowly, but heeded his words of going on ahead without her - being alone was possibly one of the worst feelings in the world. When Keegan stopped walking so did she, and she studied the boulders for a few moments before turning to her red-haired traveling companion. Keegan noticed that she was staring at him and shrugged, which prompted her to smile. "Aren't you going to get rid of all of these annoying rocks?" she asked cutely. "Like you did last time, with Tierra."
Keegan nodded after realizing she was right. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot," he chuckled, reaching for the Golem's Great Ball. "Tierra, help us out! Use Rock Smash to clear a path for us!" he commanded as the blue and red sphere flew through the air, and the large rock type materialized before them. For a moment it looked like she was going to obey right away and without question, but she yawned loudly before shooting a dirty look at Keegan - he'd awoken her from a nap. "Oh, relax," Keegan grumbled. "You can go back to sleep afterwards." He put his hands on his hips and tapped his foot. Growling a bit the Golem sluggishly stomped forward until she was in front of the rocks. She reared her fist back, and it glowed with power as she brought it forward and crushed the largest of the rocks into tiny pieces. She continued to glare at Keegan even as the dust settled and the redhead recalled her quickly to avoid any further trouble. "I don't get the respect I deserve," he muttered before continuing onward to Mauville. ===== Miharu couldn't help but smile at Sparkle and be thankful for her Static ability - the Flaaffy was still young yet the ability had already turned the tide of battle for her so many times already. Miharu did feel a bit bad for Naoko too though, but she knew part of becoming a good trainer meant learning how to accept a loss and the fact that there would always be stronger trainers out there. "Okay Sparkle, Thundershock!" she called. Sparkle clapped her paws together and created a bluish burst of electricity that was fired at the immobile Eevee. It cried out in pain and tried to get up, but paralysis was still keeping it down. "One more time!" Miharu called, but was stopped by Komay as she stepped between the Flaaffy and Eevee.
"That's enough," she said softly, nodding to Naoko as she ran over to her Eevee and scooped it up gently. Komay smiled and turned to Miharu. "So, you defeated Naoko, but are you up to challenging the rest of us?"
"If you can beat at least three of us we'll give you something nice," Semomo added, exchanging a glance with Satsuki and the two giggled.
Miharu didn't like the way they were laughing like that, but sighed. "I'm up for it," she said, nodding. "What about you, Sparkle?" The Flaaffy nodded as well, her tail glowing brightly. She had only just warmed up when battling that Eevee, and now she was ready for more. "Okay, we accept!"
"You'll be fighting me first!" Sakura said, taking Naoko's place on the battlefield. Komay and Semomo had taken their pupil aside and were giving the injured Eevee some medicine. "And my Pokemon will be Espeon! I choose you!" The sister threw her Pokeball gracefully, revealing the slender and lovely psychic type version of the Eevee evolution line. Miharu's eyes opened wide and she took out her PokeDex to scan it.
"Espeon, the Sun Pokemon. This Pokemon is extremely loyal to any trainer it considers to be worthy. It is said that it developed its precognitive powers in order to protect that person from harm. Its fur has the look and feel of soft velvet, and these fine hairs give it the ability to read the air currents in order to sense its foe's next move. The jewel on its forehead shines when it uses its psychic powers."
"Uh oh..." Miharu murmured, eying the Espeon warily. She didn't know how she was going to get past this challenge.

To say the least, Ky was very happy as he walked out of the infirmary, staring at the Pokeball in his hand holding his now-not-so-little Little Guy. So happy in fact, he didn't notice Rex walking behind him. That is until Ky felt a rather uncomfortable chomp to his right calf.
"Yaaaah!" Ky yelped, gritting his teeth as he looked over his shoulder. Clamped to his leg like a guard-dog to a burglar, Rex growled through his teeth as he held up what looked to be Sting's Pokeball. Apparently, Rex didn't appreciate the sudden lack of attention coming from his new trainer. Ky then snatched the Pokeball in irritation. "Let go Rex, or you won't get breakfast." To Ky's relief, the Totodile released, crossing his arms with a defeated grunt.
"We hope you come back soon!" Nurse Joy said, smiling the same mischievious smirk as Ky passed the counter. Nodding, Ky headed over to the cafeteria in the back, a bit shocked as to how long the line had gotten. Before he could get in line though, he felt a firm poke to his right shoulder. Looking to his side, he saw Tracy, holding out a sandwich for Ky.
"I got food for all three of your Pokemon in my backpack so they can eat once we get there," Tracy explained. Then, after glancing towards Rex, he reached back, pulling what looked like a brown, unwrapped granola bar from a side pocket in his backpack. He then tossed it to Rex, who chomped it from the air, swallowing it instantly. "You can eat that on the way, so come follow me. My ATV's out front."
And with that, Tracy led Ky and Rex outside, passing Ky a helmet before they got onto the 4-wheeled camoflauged ATV, complete with its own Ranger decal along the side. After both of them put on their helmets, Tracy motioned for Ky to sit behind him, holding Rex on his lap. "Hold on," Tracy warned before turning the ignition key. Then, with a small roar of the ATV's engine, Tracy and Ky rode off towards Ilex Forest to investigate.

Similarly to the ride with Officer Jenny, the trip back to Ilex Forest was made much quicker by the use of a vehicle. Also, the fact that it was off-road made it useable on the routes specifically made for trainers. It may have taken a bit longer than a shortcut through the city, but Ky could never argue, having once again been given a beautiful morning view of Goldenrod.
As soon as the old couples' day care center came into view, Tracy stopped for a minute to ask Ky if he could lead the way from there. Seeing that he and M.A. left the forest in practically a straight line, Ky nodded. "All right then, go ahead and get up front then. I'll hold your Totodile for you," Tracy said.
"Really?" Ky asked with a hint of childish pleasure.
Figuring Ky would act this way, Tracy smiled and nodded. "Just don't give it too much gas."
And so after switching positions, and a few lousy start-ups by Ky (how he managed to switch into reverse was beyond him), they progressed the final distance to the forest's entrance closest to the scene of the attack. Tracy then hopped off the ATV, followed by Ky, and began filling up three dishes full of Pokemon food with Tracy telling Ky which one was for whom. Ky then released Sting and Little Guy, showing them to their bowls. As Little Guy bent over to eat, Ky couldn't help but swoon a bit as he noticed the obvious change once again. This was interrupted by Tracy though.
"Sooner the better kid. Your Pokemon can handle themselves," Tracy said with a bitter tone as he entered the forest. Hearing the impatience in the ranger's voice, Ky eventually turned around and followed Tracy in, feeling once again the eerie canopy spread darkness over the top of them. It wasn't long before they found the spot, thanks to the gigantic hole in the canopy Crenu and his Pokemon produced, causing an unnatural amount of light to pool along the forest's floor. Also strewn across the area were various broken branches and debree, some covered with piles of familiar amounts of sand. "Well, looks like you guys had one heck of a battle here. Let's get to work, shall we?" Tracy started, notebook and pencil in hand.

Kurine walked along quietly for a while, having nothing better to do. Having returned all of her Pokemon to their Poke Balls, she really didn't have anyone to keep her company, so she was happy when she finally saw that she was nearing Violet City.
As she entered the city, Kurine glanced around uncertainly, forgetting just where the Pokemon Center actually was. She wandered aimlessly for a few moments, before finally spotting the red roof the of the Center, and began finding a path towards it. Thought it seemed to take forever, the young trainer was eventually standing in front of the glass doors, which slid open and allowed her to step inside.
The Nurse Joy at the counter was, as they always are, very friendly and cheerful, happily taking Kurine's two Poke Balls to heal them. Kurine smiled appreciatively and walked over to one of the chairs, sitting down in one and wondering what she would do next. Maybe she'd just train some more--she wasn't sure if she or her Pokemon were quite ready for a Gym battle just yet.

Train quickly made it back to Pewter City, Pikachu resting on her shoulder. She hadn't gone very far from the city, but, even so, it seemed to take an even shorter amount of time going back. She stayed clear of the grass for the most part, but didn't run into anything along the way. She passed a couple of trainers, but was too far away for them to really notice her. Pikachu sniffed the air a couple of times, but for the most part, the light breezes that came up every now and then were dircted opposite the trainers, and the scent of them probably wouldn't have reached even Pikachu's sensative nose, anyway. Train headed easily to her first destination once she entered the town, still remembering where the Pokemon Center was located, since she had already been there a few times. "Careful with Oddish," She warned the Nurse Joy who was working there. "I found her in the wild, but it's obvious that she was either abandoned or run away, and she's deathly afraid of people. Plus, I tripped and nearly fell on the poor thing, and she ran away from me, so my Pikachu and me had to find her."
Nurse Joy nodded and replied, "Don't worry! We'll make sure to make her feel as safe as we can." Train thanked Nurse Joy, then lounged by the counter for a moment, before finally glancing over at chairs and moving over to one, sitting down and waiting patiently for her Pokemon to be healed.
