Yeah, thats a really good question, why didn't we send several ODST's in HEV's ahead of time to secure a landing position? Because they'd get pwned by BILLIONS of Covenant? Lots of guys = statistically some have to survive. =) accidentally dropping the whole platoon over a molten sea of glass = statistically, good ******** luck.

That's extremely helpful. Like being given directions to the bus station by a blind man with one leg and seven fingers who happens to have a very thick russian accent despite his hispanic background and the fact that he grew up in Cuba.
