"I wouldn't suggest swimming in ice water. I got a cold from it." She smiled and laughed slightly and kicked her feet, splashing water a little, away from him.

If you got a cold, it wasn't because the water was icy. There would have had to be something in it to make you sick. Atari told Esca, nodding matter-of-factly as he looked after her, shifting his feet in the sand to make deeper grooves.

"Maybe so," Escarelia said with a small laugh, dipping her hands into the water and running the water over her arms to start to get used to it.

It's still probably not fun to swim in icewater unless it's really hot outside, huh? Atari laughed as he watched Esca, his tail dipping into the water just barely, causing him to make an unsure face.

"Mm hmm!" She nodded with a smile, sitting down in the water a little, getting her arms a little more wet, before looking over at him. "You okay?"

Atari whimpered and shook his head, making his way back out of the water, and a couple feet from the water's edge. No...I can't do it. he mumbled through his hands as he drew them to cover his face, more than a little embarrassed.

Escarelia stood up quickly, trying to get her arms and hands as dry as possible as she walked over to him. She reached out, hesitated, and then rested a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, it's okay. You can't conquer a fear in a few minutes, you know?" She tried to give a calming smile.

Atari bit his lip as he watched Esca, trying to decide whether or not he was mentally strong enough to venture back into the water. He shook his head to himself and offered her an apologetic smile. You swim, I'll wait here. he offered, his voice soft.

"Oh no, I can swim any day." She smiled. "Besides, I'd feel bad if you were here and I was out there." She tilted her head. "I'm sorry if I pushed you any."

You didn't, it's okay. Atari insisted, smiling as he shifted to lay on the grass. You can swim, and I'll sunbathe! he offered, letting his eyes fall shut so Esca couldn't see the embarrassment he reflected in his gaze.

Escarelia blinked, watching him a moment, before sitting down next to him. "I'd still feel bad," she said, bringing her knees up to her chest and folding her arms over them, looking out at the lake.

Sighing happily, Ryuji walked slowly with Lacuna pulled closely at his side. I'll make sure no snakes bother you, he said with a gentle laugh.
