Okay, that stung a bit...and he got dragged and thrown around though he got right back up.

"Again, Zahara, you speak of things that you don't know anything about. I knew sevilin desired you before I set that up. You really think that I woudl go through all the hassle of setting you two up when I coudl have set him up with any countless number of slaves in my service? You need to think a bit more before you speak."

Wiping more blood from his nose, and some from his mouth.

"I coudl use a high level rune. your right it woudl cause me a great deal of stress. but the same thing that woudl make me miserable for a few weeks coudl kill you, remember that."

Standing and dusting himself off, and looking at her.

"I've been playing these games, and learning how to do what I do for centuries before you were born. So don't waltz in here and think that you know more than I do."

Though while he was dusting himself off, the runic circle formed just under him, then faded lightly, while he had simpley altered the rune that she had placed on his person, and grinned lightly at her.

"Feeling a little bold and brash, are we. Sevilin's attraction to you remains even now. and your attraction to him was very much apparent they day Piper and I were wed. or did you forget that I was wearing Malvolence then?"

A small smirk.

"But lets say I can turn back time. Who would you prefer I use? most of my slaves could not handle Laudi's brutality, or woudl appear as nothing more to her than food. My necromancers are too valuable to waste. so lets see."

Lightly tapping his finger on his chin.

"Well that leaves...oh look. Sevilin and Arthur. So you would have prefered I did it to Sevilin?"

Though his look turned very cold.

"What piper went through was life or death. so what she did or die. Sevilin did what he was forced to do, or die. Arthur was placed in a room where I was certain he woudl live. there was no thought that Laudi would kill him. her need to breed would overright the need for food. Did I scar his poor little human based mind? Good."

Then his hand shot up, and his necromantic power slammed into her, siphoning her strength to feed his own, and thus stopping his constant nosebleed.

"I would have broken him in half that day for what he did had she not stopped me. I would have shattered his flesh in ways that would have made your and sevilins sisters scream in fear of the very acts that would have caused it. She acted then as my concience."

"But I don't forget such things. and I do hold grudges. The only reason you yourself are alive now is becuase of the child you carried and before because Piper would have stopped my hand."

Crossing his arms lightly.

"Your motherly instinct to protect is appealing, but futile. I have the upperhand then, and I have it now. becuase you are once again forgetting where you are. A snap of my fingers, these gates open. then we can see if your runings and your magics can stop you for getting a real beating."

Energy drain, that seriously was going to affect her. Already she could feel herself reaching her limit. "That's not the point Malik! What you fail to understand, what you seem to think is alright is not okay." She shook her head and considered what he was saying. "Why do you need to breed Laudi anyway?" Her fists clenched a moment when he mentioned using Sevilin and she had to admit that was a cruel way to prove a point, but prove it he had. "Again it's for your own cruel ends. You do things to others without a single care Malik and it affects them for a lot longer than you might think. I went through a pregnancy because of you. Because you wanted a baby to bind Sevilin to your house and because I couldn't bring myself to kill it. But that's not why you used me, you did it because you knew that if you drugged Sevilin a slave wouldn't be enough and you sure as hell weren't going to offer your precious Piper up. I was on instincts and you already didn't like me. In the name of teaching me 'passion' you could even convince Piper to go along with your little scheme, and then you let her pay the price!" A shake of her head before she wiped blood from her own nose. Damn energy drain. Thus wiping away the rune he'd altered before her own gaze matched his, eyes hard and cold. "Piper survived! She overcame, she showed each and every one of those who looked down on her that she was worth something and worthy of the brand of elf. Then she defied logic and reason and hooked up with you and proved to everyone at your wedding that there actually was a true and lasting bond. She made each and every one of those elves there that day eat their words and that's still not enough!" She had to chuckle at that one. "She is the one who keeps dragging herself back down. She is the one who won't let herself move past this. Why should others take the punishment for her own insecurity when she has no reason to still have it? Why should Arthur suffer because she let an inconsequential look shatter her?"

Oh that little chuckle got him marching right over there, and his hand grabbed her neck and he quite literally lifted her off the ground, anger showing, near blinding rage, to be more precise.

"Because that wretch was raised by HUMANS. He has NO right to look at Piper in ANY way. Least of all in a condesending manner!"

And he let go, just so she could land her stomach on his knee.

"You have no idea what it's like. maybe I should enlighten you, hmm? maybe I should slice off half of one of your ears and then send you back to Andal right smack in the Requias Penninsula!"

Oh yes, she hit a nerve right there, didn't she.

"And I told you then, didn't I....you diodn't like it, you dealt with me. and you got your reward for taking it out on Piper then, didn't you."

He kept right after her, Malvolence appearing in hand, glowing bright red, feeding on Malik fury.

"I coudl have made a slave work. it's not that damned hard you ignorant wench. all it takes is an illusion. But I didn't want that. I wanted you to know something Piper enjoyed and that she wanted to try to convey to you. I wanted you and Sevilin both to get over your Innoruuk damned fear and distrust to find something worth having."

That sword came down hard, litterally kicking up a cloud of dust in a sweep at her.

"I tried to give you something you both wanted but were too damned stubborn and ignorant to admit it, and then you turn it around as some horrible thing! You and Sevilin's relationship has gotten closer and closer, like YOU WANT, and you have the audacity to curse me for methods that HAD to be taken?!"

He quite literally snarled still stalking at her, his hand glowing a bright flaming red.

"Not only did Arthur earn my ire that day, but he needs to know what it means to be an elf. in all it's aspects. both those Reveries we all have that cuase us Pain, or Fear, or Remorse....just as much as the ones that bring us pleasure and joy. Quit CODDLING him."

"His experience means the only way to give him a true sense of perpective on this life he has CHOSEN to live means to put him through loss, pain, or fear. woudl you prefer I slaughtered his human family? Or maybe I should cut off his swordhand. Maybe I should drag him down here and put him in so much pain that he screams and begs to die. Woudl that be more to your standards, Llothian Priestess!?"

anytime he got near her, that blade came out after her, or his tried to grab her with that very dangerous other hand.

"I chose for him to take the route that serves me best. so he was Raped. You think I haven't been before?! You think my past has just been me riding roughshod over everything?!"

His eyes burned with green energy.

"And the only reason you even call it rape is becuase he said no. anyone that did that willingly woudl look the same. She's a Drakklin, a half wyvern. She's not exactly a gentle creature. and I need her to breed to expand my territory. So that I can provide for my child to be, and so that I can help protect yours. So that when they grow up, they can have lands of thier own, so that they aren't forced to follow right in our footsteps. So don't you talk to me about what I should and shouldn't do, what I can and can't do, when you can't see farther than a day from the moment you are in right now!"

And she'd hit a nerve, a pretty big one by the looks of it. Next thing she knew she was in the air and then being dropped. But she hooked back into her instincts and hovered for a moment, using levitation to stay up then drifting back down to the ground, crouched and at the ready. Then Malvolence came out and it all went to hell from there. "Listen to yourself! Methods tha HAD to be taken? Once again the end justifies the means with you. It doesn't matter who you destroy in the process as long as the end is worthy of your opinion it's all okay. As long as you can twist logic and reason, there's nothing wrong. It doesn't matter that you caused Sevilin to relive every horrible moment of his life, which might I remind you that he is nearly as old if not older than you. That's a lot of reliving! It doesn't matter that you gave Arthur a great deal of pain or that you forced me to suffer for a whole year! You taught Sevilin and I about passion." Of course the whole time she had her daggers out and was parrying anything that looked like it was coming close. The dust stopped her, causing her to choke and cough, her eyes burning and she was forced to rely on her instincts. "And once again I ask you, why? Why should Arthur have to live through hell just because we all did? That's not being an elf! Most of the elves on Andal have never gone through anything close to what the four of us. Just because our kind likes to act ignorant and idiotic, killing each other off does not mean that we have to mentally break and torture everyone who comes across our paths! That's like saying you're going to deny your child food because in the end it will make him a stronger and better elf! and if that logic prevails then I suggest you start picking out a woman now to rape your own son or a man to rape your daughter. Or maybe you want to have that honor yourself Malik. Really ******** her up! Because that will make her stronger and better able to live in the Underdark right?" She shook her head, sidestepping where seh thought the blade might hit. "I can twist logic to suit me too Malik."

"You don't understand."

His voice was cold, cruel, and calculating.

"How many human empires have you seen. How many decades and centuries have you spent around them. How many have you seen that revel in thier mortal lives, and do what they want to do, becuase they can't comprehend an existance longer than fifty years."

He stood still, dust clouds around his feet, malvolence glowing in from of him.

"How many elves fall prey to us, how many elves die so easily because the first time they experience terror, or pain, or fear...they die. Arthur has to learn that no matter how horrible things may be, or what happens to him, he will endure. he will exist long after that. and raised by humans, that is not a concept he will understand by it being simply told to him."

A small glower.

"Suffered for a year, did you? I can recall oh so often how much you enjoyed the feeling of life in you. how often you wondered what your child will look like, what he might become as a child or an adult. wether you admit it or not, even now, you look fondly on that child. that you want to care for him, and be there when he needs you."

That blade got lifted up.

"you didn't suffer so much as you act. the only time you really suffered was when all women suffer, during childbirth. And my son, or my daughter, will not need to be put through what I put arthur through, because my child, same as yours, will be raised to understand an elven life. will know that they will endure things that will shatter others. that they are elves, and everything that goes with it."

A glower.

"I've seen what happens to human bred halfelves. I've seen them go mad. I've seen them take thier own lives. why? because they never went through an experience that really put life as an elf into perspective. where they don't view living beyond fifty years as a damnation. Arthur will not feel that way. he'll look back on what happened to him with Laudi and say he lived through that, and nothing could be so terrible. so he will look to the future, and be ready for it."

His eyes followed her.

"The ends in this case, DO justify the means. I gave you and Sevilin a great gift, that you were unwilling to give yourselves. and while you may consider how it happened to not be worth it, I bet after you spend more time with your son you'll think differently."

"Arthur may hate me for decades. and that anger will fuel him to train harder, to learn to fight better, to master his innate magic even more so, becuase his hate will drive him to desire it just for a chance, a shot to strike me down. And as time passes, he will find more joy. he will find more things to make this one instance a terrible thing, but something to remember that he lived through. that even the most horrible act that one can do to another, didn't break him into a sniveling worm."

"there are moments in all our lives that define who we become. when you first learn magic..when you first felt the stirrings in you of intolerance to the acts of your brethren, when you ran away. For Piper it is what happened to her ear. What happened when she and I met, the place we met at that forced her to confront and at least try to conquer her fear."

"For me, it was the day I was brutally butchered and nearly murdered by Cymarron, when I died for the first time at Bloody Kithcor..and when I met Piper. And, long ago, when I was raped by the Vah harem girl of my father, her only way to act out the vengence she wanted to give my father for his treatment of Cymarron."

And he moved forward keeping that blade pointed at her.

"I will not see Arthur follow the human road to madness. I will not see him become another De'Lere, Miragul, or Seru either. And if this is how I have to do it, then this is how I will."

Cedric chuckled after Onyx and Aella said their pieces, and fell rather quiet. Yes? Yes indeed.

"Time to an elf is less meaningful, yet more meaningful." Cedric whispered. Imagine you would live forever, unless struck down. How would you cope with the understanding that you would outlive the mountains? Elvish adultlesance carried a heavy burden, especially if you lived amongst the shorter lived races.

The subject changed to the murdered girl, one known by the white vah. Cedric did not feel compelled to talk about it, as he really was not one to say anything about a person he did not know (beyond the claw marks he left on Onyx). He recognized a similarity to a psychological malidie often called despondancy.

She sighed, not knowing what to say. "That's kind of sad. I'm sure he'll get over it. Time is different for different people."

She looked at Cedric, but raised and eyebrow because she din't understand. She smiled. "Sure."

And not long thereafter they returned to Meilikki's manor.

She'd been ready to retaliate, ready to make it very clear just how much she did understand exactly what he was trying to tell her she didn't. Then she had to stop and rethink. She really hadn't thought it was possible for Malik to suprise her but he'd managed it. His revelation had her gaping at him for a moment before very easily sheathing her daggers and standing there, arms at her sides. Not running, not moving. If he chose to strike her down now, then so be it, she wouldn't raise a blade in resistance. "Your intentions are truly honorable Malik. What you are doing is worth it and you are correct that I might be coddling Arthur and he has to learn to be an elf. Sevilin and I tell him the same thing all the time." A brief pause while she chose her words carefully. "But, that being said the way you are going about this is not the best way. Rape is never okay, Malik. Not to teach someone a lesson, not to prove a point, not to gain revenge." Her voice was quiet but fierce and her eyes glowed hotly with the force of her point. Then the fire died. "I wouldn't wish rape on anyone Malik, not my worst enemy, not even you." Was she saying that Malik wasn't her worst enemy? Well, yes, yes she was. "I didn't intend to exact anything on you but make you see that it's not okay. It says a lot though that your intentions really are honorable and you do have best interests at heart. Please, find another method and I'll stop coddling him. Let him learn from his mistakes and grow on his own. But no more rape."

"Finally, you see what I am talking about."

Malvolence disappeared from his hand, and he turned his back to her, already starting on his way out.

"I only needed her bred to another once. I have no need to do such a thing to him again. once she has her brood, they can interbred with eachother without the usual problems that arise from such in other races."

See, they could agree on it.

"You might want to have Sevilin take a look at you. Perhaps he can do something to help your nosebleed."

Then he was gone, heading on his way to pay the Piper. Yeah he was sure she was going to be really unhappy with him.

Onyx shrugged.

"I'm sure he'll be fine. as long as he doesn't become a drunk. Maybe this will give him a reason to use his powers. He never seems to want to use them, like he's afraid or ashamed of them. Maybe one of you elven types can talk to him, you guys usually have a better graps on that subject...after all you guys life forever."

Hey look, home..and hey..new smells.

"Looks like the rest of the good captain's crew and allies have come over. At least the non drow ones."

If hell could be turned into an emotion and felt on subconcious levels that were turned by so high they became wholly concious to the cognetive mind...well Piper had been experienceing it and hadn't been enjoying it at all. After all, she wasn't one for having an etreme case of such emotions be more or less drilled into her head and try to elicit thier own physical response from her being. Nope, not a happy elf. And dare she say she sighed in relief when she felt thing subside, the varitable raging sea in her head ebb and return to what it once once, but with the water a little choppy still. But she was doing a damn good show of hiding that it bothered her, at least on the outside...on the inside she was screaming out, at the top of her lungs, a boatload of things. But those were happening with the inside voice, not the outside. No, Piper was merely sitting on the bed, just playing with her hair because it was long enough to play with. Though yes, her eyes did pan to the door a bit at the feeling of Malik making his way back, but they merely turned back away when he came in. Nope, wasn't going to say a word about it. To choose a side would be to make an a single enemy, but to not choose a side made her two. Better to have two than one in this situation, or at least in her opinion in this situation.

Sevilin shook his head. Well well...weren't they cute? Thinking they could play with runes as much as they wanted and what not. They were both cocky...though it was a refreshing feeling to feel the effects of a battle between opposing runes being used, the shift of air and energy as each side played it's own cards. Though he was sure that they both weren't going to walk away happy from it all. No doubt the blood would be a bother, judging from levels he sensed, and then the after effefcts would set in, the fatigue and drained feeling, the numb feelings. They both still had a lot to learn...not that they cared he knew that.

Though it seemed that they had let up, be it a turn of thier altercation, an end, or they had simply exhaused thier resources. He didn't know and he didn't care to find out. Let them find things out the hard way about using something neither of them were ready to handle.

She nodded sagely for a moment and ran her fingers through her hair quickly before shaking it vigorously and attempting to get as much of the dirt and grim out of the snowy locks as she could. It was a futile endeavor though as the particles stubbornly remained attached with invisble glue. Her skin had traces of the grime as well though only her experienced eye could pick them out and she ran her hand beneath her nose yet again to catch the stream of blood still pouring. And to think, she hadn't even used but one rune and that one a low level, basic one and she'd only used it twice. Malik's energy drain was responsible and she knew it. She spat some of the blood that had trickled into her mouth and sighed. Hopefully she wasn't in for a lecture because that would really be the icing on the cake. Malik was right though, she needed to see Sevilin and figure out how to stop this because it just wasn't going away and there really was nothing to heal. Watching his retreating back for a moment she reexamined all that had gone on between them in the arena and then smiled. Malik did care, even if his ways were a little unconventional. He at least recognized the negative and positive aspects and strove to do the best possible by all in his keeping. And she wasn't foolish enough to believe that Malik didn't feel responsible for her. In that deep intuitive part of her she had the tiny thought that perhaps Piper wasn't the only thing staying his hand. In the beginning, she would have believed that. Now, after what he had revealed and she had inferred, that just didn't ring true anymore. They would never be the best of friends but at the very least they could tolerate each other and even have a somewhat civilized conversation...as long as she didn't poke his weakness and vulnerable spots and he didn't poke at hers. Rather pleased with the initial outcome, she left the arena and went upstairs to her room grabbing a bath. When the water ran red with her blood she finally broke down, got dressed and made her way to Zykariel's room to get this infernal nosebleed stopped. "Sevilin...I need your help..." Her voice was barely above a whisper just in case he was trying to put Zykariel down for reverie or he himself was in reverie.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 27, 2006 4:25 pm

Well at this point he was sitting at his desk, Zykariel down but not taking reverie, merely laying in his crib and making his soft obscure noises, feeling content and full and no need to fuss. Thusly Sevilin was flipping through rune books, merely because he always did and he always liked to stay top notch. Never knew when you would be struck with a brilliant idea of a combo or something.

But his didn't waver much. Need his help? To what? Get better at runes so she could use them against Malik or anyone else? Of course that was him being negative and he probably shouldn't. Giving a little sigh he licked his fingers and turned the page of his book. "Alright, what can I do for you?" Red eyes scanning the pages before him for the third time.

Malik knew how it had torn at her. he coudl feel it. hey a little numbness in the fingers already. seemed the second time aroudn those after effects came a little quicker. well that was something to know.

"Everything is set in order. Zahara has finally got it through her thick skull that what I do isn't just because of some sadistic need. But I'm more worried about you and our child. is everything alright?"

His voice was soft, and he sat down on teh bed, looking at the hardly touched food, and gave a sigh.

"Why is everything I do, wether it's a good or a bad thing, always seen in the absolutly worst possible light?"

PostPosted: Wed Sep 27, 2006 4:49 pm

"I don't care to talk about what happens between you and Zahara. After all, that's none of my business what you two strike up between you." Was it possible to be a neutral in this? Probably not, but she could at least pretend that she was not going to have anything to do with it or that it never happened. Still playing with her hair some, hey she could do some pretty neat looking things with those streaks, before she granted him a look as he sat down. "We're fine, come from strong stuff after all." Just watching him a moment. Well he didn't look to well did he? But she knew better than to coddle him about it, he'd just shrug it off anyway and what not. Then giving a little sigh at his question. There was quite the inquiry indeed wasn't it? "Didn't you use to tell me it was because you're drow?" That was the simple answer back wasn't it? Of course she was Piper...and often didn't know when to quit while she was ahead. "You are not a subtle elf Malik...you strive to make points that will get across the first time and also stick. You just don't see that those kinds of deliveries are the ones that can also have effects that push too far in some aspect, good or bad. Not to mention, that when it deals with someone or something close to you...you respond tenfold on that. You and what you consider yours are above all." Yeah what happened to not getting involved? "Coming on strong can blow up in your face, but sometimes there's no other way." A blink and a beat of quiet. "You don't think that I think about you like that too, do you?"

She leaned in the doorway, holding her hands cupped to catch the blood that was still dripping. She'd used her towel to try and stem the flow but that really wasn't doing anything just staining her towel. "Not much, just help take care of a minor vanity problem. I don't much like liquid streaming down my face in a neverending stream, just a personal quirk of mine..."
