Ronin of the Blade Meh. I only ever come to Gaia for the donation items anymore... But I do look like a kick-a** Ninja! Donations are a mixed bag for me. SOmetimes I get them, most times I don't bother. The only aspect I like about this months is the Dak Halo's ability to cover your face with a purple void. However, I doubt I'd even use that position much.

I think the dark halop will prove rather versatile
it can function as Katar styled weapons for the Ninja or assassin outfits...... psuedo hors for a demonic look..... and of course the void of darkness for suitabley enigmatic or evil looks

I was refering more to the general style of the weapon...... the average individal is not aware of the differences in termonology when it comes to mellee weapons
for example... how many people can describe for me the difference between a sycle and a scythe...... or between greatsword and a claymore...... or a gladius and a irish basket hilt......
you get the general idea
and a pet peave of mine..... correcting people on symantics when it is uneccesary..... it makes you seem like you are trying to belittle others

A claymore is a more of a straight blade if I recall, whereas a greatsword gets narrower at the top. ******** if I know about a gladius and that irish one. Swords aren't my strong suit, I'm better at exotic weapons. And yeah, katars are punching daggers, cesti (cestus is the singular) is a weighted and sometimes extended fist, and nekodes are Wolverine claws, essentially. BIG fan of fist weapons, so I would've corrected you too. Not trying to belittle anyone, just making sure the right information gets out to everyone. =p

yet you missed the entire point of my post amazingly
the point was that I was deliberatly used generalized grouping because not everyone is versed in mellee weapons
and actually you are mistaken on the greatsword.... a greatsword is of german design most notabley differentiated by a secondary pomel gard above the first allowing for a larger gaurd to the main hand and a smaller gaurd to the secondary grip (often the term is mistakenly used to refer to all two-handed swords which in turn are often confused with b*****d swords)...... not to be confused with the Estoc which is the German two handed sword in which the blade has a definitive taper making it more suited to thrusting as opposed to slashing
Also there are design differences in the blade of a Sickel and a scythe... one has a more circular shape whyle the other favors a half crescent
Also your intent is irrelivant.... it comes across as you attempting to correct someone on symantics when it is uneeded.... and that very mutch seems like you are belittling others
in the grand scheem intent is usually not what things are judged upon...... the reaction of others is..... and as I said, that is a pet peive of mine..... there is no need to correct someoen on symantics when the vast majority would never notice a casual grouping
my point
was that it was unecessary..... and that is my pet peave.... I doubt you would appreiciate it if every time you made a generalized comment someone picked it apart just to correct your generalization

Yeah, I figured I was probably wrong on the sword. And I was bored, I didn't miss your point. I, personally, don't think correcting someone is belittling unless it's done in a rude manner. Otherwise it's just correcting. =p I just won't do it to you, I guess.
