Kai soon calmed down in khalids arms. He whimpered softly sucking his thumb.

Khalid didn't have time to find Kai's coat, so instead just took his own off, wrapping it around Kai. It had begun to snow harder outside, and was quite windy. He bowed his head and hurried down the street, hoping to arrive at the mansion quickly so he could get this matter over with.

Kai nuzzled close to khalid not liking the wind.
Not long after they left kawi groaned "yuuggii...."

Khalid reched the mansion soon, partly because he ran. He went to the plroom, because he guessed Kai would be most comfortable there. "Just stay here. I'll be right back." He said, realizing that he left the Millennium Eye in his room. As he headed down the hall, he heard Ryou pounding against the doorway. Right. He had almost forgotten that he locked the boy in there.

Once in his playroom kai started to crawl twards his toy box. He was starting to feel better.

Khalid found the Millennium Eye with little trouble, and headed slowly back towards Kai's room. He was trying his best to think of some way out of this. He didn't want to hurt Kai. He knew that the boy might just die. The Millennium Eye was a terrible thing to have, especially for one so young! Yugi stirred slightly, waking up very slowly. "Uh? Kawi?" He mumbled, thinking he heard her say something. He tried to sit up, and yelped in pain. His arms were tied behind his back very sharply, and something was cutting into his wrists. "Wha's goin' on? Why'm I tied up?"

Kai had found his monkey and was playing with it happly.
"Khalid...went nuts...took kai..said he was chosen..." Kawi opened her eyes and noticedember. "EMBER!" she screamed. Embers body was still jerking like crazy as blood spilled from her head.

Yugi squeezed his eyes shut, reaching out for his yami. Khalid had prevented him from saying anything earlier. Atem asked, panic and worry set in his mind. He listened to Yugi's answer. He cut off the mind link with Yugi, quickly pulling out his cell phone, calling 911 and telling them briefly what happened and giving them Yugi's apartment's address. Khalid went to Kai, picking the boy up. "Hey there, kiddo." He said, going over to the diaper changing station, sitting Kai on the surface. It would make it easier to reach Kai. He held the Millennium Eye clenched in one hand. "I have to do something, Kai. And this will hurt. A lot. I'm sorry, but I have to do this."

Kai looked up to khalid confused. He grasped him monkey in his small hands.

Khalid would have preferred to knock Kai out, but knew that it didn't work that way. He grabbed Kai by the back of his neck with his free hand, to hold the boy still. He raised up the Millennium Eye. "This is going into your socket. You will bleed. I'm so sorry." He said, knowing that Kai wouldn't understand him. He waited a few moments, taking in deep breaths, then decided to hurry.

Kai Wined softly as he was grabbed by the back of his neck and started to squirm. He dident like being held like that.

-Enough- The voice was whispered in Khalid's mind, its tone cool. Khalid froze, his grip on Kai tightening slightly, the Millennium Only half an inch or so away from the child's eye. -You have proven yourself, Khalid. You need not multilate the boy-
Khalid let go of Kai, looking around. He had never before been spoken to so directly. So clearly. He couldn't, of course, see the source of the voice. "Wh... what? I don't have to do this?" He asked, feeling weak with relief.
-No. Not any longer. This was a test, Khalid- The voice was patient. The Millennium Eye fell to the ground, clattering slightly. Khalid sank to his knees, trembling. -We could tell your affections for this boy were growing. We needed to make sure you would still follow out with your orders. You have proven yourself-

When his grip tightened Kai started crying loudly. He was scared and the grip on his neck hurt. Once he was let go of he sirmed twards the back of the table crying louder."DAAADDAAAAA!"

The ambulance Atem had called had soon made it to yugi's apartment. One medic went to Ember, cutting the plastic from her wrists and trying to find a way to stem the bleeding, as another went to free Yugi and Kawi. "What happened to your friend?" He asked, joining the other paramedic over near Ember.
The pharaoh had also reached his destination. In Khalid's haste, he hadn't locked the front door, which made it easier to get inside. He could hear Kai screaming something, and thought tht, perhaps, it was too late. He ran down the hallway, following the sound, and was relieved at what he saw. Kai was crying, but unhurt, and Khalid was on the ground. Atem decided to take care of the biggest threat. Grabbing Khalid by his collar, he hauled the man up to his feet. He didn't know why Khalid was crying, but didn't bother asking. "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?! WHAT DID YOU DO?!" He roared. Atem could get quite loud if he was angry.

Kawi said up and rubbed her wrist. "I...I dont know...He had knocked me out..."
Embers body was still jearking. Blood came from her ears,nose and mouth,it wasent stopping.
Hearing atem yell made kai cry louder.
