Recursive Paradox True Colours of Destiny Slightly off-topic, but whenever I see "BoA", I always think of the Japanese singer, until it hits me that America has something called the Bank of America. xD I seriously hate them. With all my being. They have some of the worst security in existence. A bunch of information was stolen from Error's accounts with them and their response? "Don't worry, we think it was only used for marketing purposes." I would strongly suggest finding another bank. Can't. It's my only credit card, it's through the NEA and they were the only ones who would give me a credit line. And my APR is the awesome. They were happy to give me credit increases when I was making below the poverty line, but when I make a lot more, they shut it down? UGH.

I watched "Ink" today. It was surreal but completely accessible. It also made me cry considerably.

Our local queer campus group is holding an amateur drag show on Saturday. I'm not participating (thank the gods), but one of my good friends is. He's chosen his stage name. Prepare to cry.

True Colours of Destiny Our local queer campus group is holding an amateur drag show on Saturday. .... I really hate the term "queer". I know that gays everywhere use it, but it really upsets me. It is, in fact, about the only of the gay slangwords that bothers me as much as f*****t (as seperate from f**, it's only the whole word that gets to me). I'm not expecting you to avoid it, or to not use it, just stating a personal distaste for it. Some people don't like the word "disability" but I'm gonna keep using it. It just bothers me that the gay community at large appear to have opted for a word that is synonomous with abnormal. You know, I didn't get the problem until I said it out loud. And at that, I had to do so several different ways. I first read that as "tradition", then to rhyme with cation (which is pronounced cat ion) and then as "tray tion"

I can't say gay group, because well, we have a healthy portion of lesbians. Also the name of the centre is GLOW: The Queer and Questioning Community. I don't like using the term, but when your official name uses it and you've become a representative of it (I hold office hours for peer support and the mini-library now and I might do phone line training for next term), you kind of have to use it.

Is gay male only in your neck of the woods? It seems like it. The official training sessions I received (we're technically not a club, but a student service, so all six of them have special training sessions and certain clauses we have to sign) said that "gay" is both and that's what I've learned from before, but in a real world social context, yes we kind of only refer to gay as male up here. Never mind our local lesbian group leader is also the leader of the Women's Centre right next door as well. xD

I worked lights and sucked because they wanted actual color change cues and stuff sweatdrop The booth has a chat speaker with the dressing room, though, and I must say I laughed my a** off. In other news, senior thesis in T minus 7 pages. Also, Ben & Jerry's Mission to Marzipan is a revelation.

I'm not terribly active in the GLBT group on campus anymore.
Not since one of the guys used the word tranny to describe trans women right in front of me and was surprised and confused when I was horribly offended.
