Khalid looked up at the gray sky, sighing. Ryou would act normal around him at times, but when the situation changed, suddenly he was suspecting Khalid of being the big bad guy. How long would it take to convince Ryou he was okay? At least Kai didn't seem to hate him. His opinion would change, though. When Kira comes back, he would be kicked out of the house. He would go around as he had before. Though Khalid would never tell anybody, it was a lonely existence. At times he missed Vadin like crazy. He would miss Kai when he left.

Kai giggled and tugged on khalids jacket. He wanted khalid to be paying attation to him "Lid lid! s-noww" he said trying to say it like khalid had told him.

Khalid smiled a little sadly at Kai. "That's right. Snow. It's like rain." He said, holding out one hand. A few flakes fell on him, but melted into small droplets almost instantly.

"When it snows enough, we can make a snow man. Or a snow woman, if you swing that way. But being raised by me and Ryou, I doubt that'll happen." Khalid said, smiling a bit more cheerfully.

Kai giggle and glaped. He dident know what he was talking bout but he was happy.

"Oh, hey, we're almost there." Khalid said, deciding to change the subject. He didn't want to start screwing with the boy's head until he learned how to properly construct a sentence, at the very least.

Khalid hesitated slightly, then gently hugged Kai back. "You're a good kid, you know that?" He said softly, hoping he wouldn't get choked up. There was no time for that. He reached Yugi's apartment door, ringing the bell.

Khalid seemed to have frozen slightly at Kai's little outburst, but quickly regained his composure and smiled at Kawi. "Hello, Kawi. Kai wanted to go on a walk. And he wanted to come by here, when given an option. Is it okay if we come in?"

Khalid nodded his head, entering the apartment, closing the door behind him with his foot. "I'm afraid Ryou couldn't make it. I took him to see Kira and had to lock him in his room until he calmed down." He said, taking Kai's coat off of him. Yugi had headed to the front door when he heard it ring, and paused slightly when he saw Khalid. He listened to Khalid's little explanation, and he looked surprised. "You took him to see Kira? That isn't a good idea."

Kai cooed as his coat was taken off.
"Oh" kawi said unsure of what to think of that.

"He insisted on it." Khalid said, shrugging slightly. He didn't want to talk about Ryou right now. "What's happening in your lives?" He rarely had a chance to actually get to know these two on a more social, personal level. They used to be nothing more than tools to him. Now-- he hoped-- he was settling down into a more human lifestyle, and he might have to get to know people better. Or something. Yugi was on guard; he hadn't really grown to trust Khalid yet. He doubted he would ever trust the man. He tensed when Khalid asked about their lives, and snorted slightly. "What? I thought you already knew that kind of stuff. I mean, don't you know everything"?
