Kraun watched Lucind finis her excercise off to the side. She probably wouldnt be able to see him with that blindfold, but he was surrounded by a strong aroma of herbs and flowers, carrying them in both his hands. "I did." he aswered through the mask on his face.

He must have appeared very weird, dressed as dark and tall as he was, with a bundle of plants in his hands. Something one would never expect to see. "And did your training go well?" he returned softly.

She sniffed when the scent of the flowers and herbs reached her nose and hooked a thumb under the cloth to pull it off of her head.

The given sight almost made her forget to answer his question. To see the monk like this, his arms full of good smelling plants was...fascinating. Somehow touching even.

"It was okay," she nodded.

Lucind used the shawl to wipe away the sweat off of her face.

He dug through the pile of plants and pulled out a small bunch of flowers, their stems bound by a long reed tied around them. The flowers had little use compared to the herbs and some of the other flowers, these he held out to the woman, as a gift, "For you." he said.

If she looked closely, most of the other plants would also be bound together, organized and categorized together for easy sorting. And as such, though it looked as if the plants would all fall out of his grasp, they stayed, he himself holding onto specific parts of the bundles to keep them together.

Tomorrow
John sat down behind the little toddler as she awoke and scooped her up in his hand, placing her gently down atop Amber's sleeping form, cuddling them both protectively in his arms as he sat by the small fire. He looked like a lion guarding his pride, and he looked over the leaping flames to inspect Mere with his cool blue eyes.

He didn't move. He didn't say a word.

He simply held them close as they slept and watched the only thing worth watching in the clearing.

Henry sighed as the young girl fell fast asleep. Not meeting the gaze of the large warrior as he sank into his own thoughts. For all intents and purposes he was sleeping with his eyes open, meditating on the forest beyond the clearing, thinking of the next route that they needed to take. His jacket fluttered aimlessly, as if a thousand seperate breezes moved and positioned each before capturing it again. It was like looking at someone sitting underwater.

Undead and orcs, though unexpected, had been the easy part of all this. The next task would prove much harder. It was optimal for them all to get through this alive, however. Henry didn't need to leave any deaths in his wake, for once. Mentally he heaved a sigh.

Soon, my son, you and I will cross the path together, then we shall see if you've grown beyond my expectations...

The sun leaked quietly into the glade, highlighting butterflies and pollen in it's lazy streamers of gold. Henry came back to awareness quickly at this. It was early morning, nearing six am, time to move on again.

His deep blue eyes met Tomorrows and he nodded silently, getting up and waiting for the group to get ready.

A surprised look appeared on her face, only to be replaced by a new smile.
"Oh, this is...very kind. Thank you."
Lucind smelled at the blooms and carefully touched some of them with her fingers.

She then glanced at the other bundles in Kraun's hands: she knew most of them and their usage for teas, creams or medical substances.
"Did the Guldorian monks taught you botony and herbology?"

Lucind walked over to the trunk, soaked a tissue with water and wrapped it around the stems to keep the flowers fresh until they returned to Feimurgan.

He nodded. "The guldorians have a book about plants." he answered, though he had looked through the book, such plants did not grow in the frozen wastelands of the north, and it was only now that he actually had a chance to look at the plants for real instead of pictures.

The monk stepped through the clearing and sat down on a log, watching Lucind keep the base of the plants moist. The plants in his arms however, he didnt need them alive, and some of them he wanted dry anyways, so he did no such thing himself.

THe night passed relatively quickly for the Tribal warrior, his hulking body keeping his loved ones warm whilst he watched Mere, almost suspiciously, almost with a paranoid gaze.

After three hours John had figured Mere would not move, and had slept lightly, giving his body time to heal meta-naturally, the wounds he had aquired the day before now added to the layers of scars on his body. His eyes would fly open at the slightest sound, his senses searching the clearing around them for any threat - before he would close his eyes once more. He'd awoken when Mere had moved, nodding back and pushing his sunglasses back up his nose, covering his eyes.

Reaching around Amber to gently lift Juuni up off her, he placed the little girl on the ground gently and stroked her hair, kissing his fiance's forehead softly to wake her. "Ytoda si ranothe yda..." He whispered to Amber before standing, placing her down beside Juuni as he stretched his massive arms above his head and ran his fingers through his hair, twisting his back to hear the audible crack as the stiffness was pulled out.

"Where now?" He asked Mere, holding his shoulder with one arm whilst he rotated it, working the kinks out.

"Now?" Mere looked around and then started off, northward and back into the forest, his voice was quiet in the hush of the trees, and yet still it sounded loud in comparison to the silence of the forest.

"We head for the mountains, we'll follow the ridge upwards, there is...a place there which is our final destination, hopefully the shield will be resting comfortably, waiting for us to pick it up." Everything he said was so matter of fact, it was hard to be a little suspicious of that, considering how he glossed over the considerable dangers of the forest.

Even now it was starting to thin, the cold wearing the trees out and dividing them from the rest of the darkness. They'd made good time, although half of it had been in panic.

"Ah, I see. - So, shall we get you a notebook in which you can press and dry the plants or do you want to use them later on for medical stuff and crush them?"

Lucind took a towel out of her bag and poured some water over it to refresh her face, neck and nape. Then she exchanged the towel for a clean top.
Shooting a glance at the monk she wondered if she should change right there. It wasn't like she'd mind or be embarrassed, but maybe it was better to teach Kraun that something like this was also about respect or politeness.

"I just change my top, then we can go^^"
So she vanished behind a tree, then came back to stuff everything into the backpack and put on her coat.

"I'd like to keep them as is." the monk replied softly, tieing the individual bundles together so he could carry them all together in one piece.

He watched Lucind refresh herself before he turned away and got up as she went to get changed. He picked up a few of the things lying around, such as her bag, deciding to be helpful and carry a few things before she returned.

She thanked Kraun for his help and asked him if he has any clue now why the forest was called 'dead', after wandering around in it while they made their way back to the town.

When they could see the border of the wood where bright daylight mingled with the semi-darkness another occured to her.

"By the way, do you remember anything about...martial arts or fighting in general? I mean, how to do it."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 31, 2005 12:57 pm

He didnt have any clue why the forest was called such a thing, even wondering it himself. But that didnt matter much. He just shrugged and kept walking.

"No." Kraun answered her question. He did not remember anything about martial arts. But what did that have to do with anything? He may not know it, but just like the ability to read and write, he possessed the ability to do so, though he did not know it. And he probably never would need to use it, as he did not get into any fights.

Lucind had just asked to get a better idea of his mind's condition and she'd already wondered before what Kraun might think if he would see himself fighting against Vahn in her memory.

Some time later, Latent's business flowed past and around them and for a moment Lucind wished back the forest's silence.

Back at Feimurgan the woman was looking forward a shower. First though, she found a nice vase for the flowers and placed it on the windowsill of her room.

"Unh..."

The small neko blinked and knuckled her eyes, wavering sleepily as she yawned and mimicked John with the stretching her her arms and arching of her back though no audible crack was heard from the small child. She clacked her tongue, trying to get rid of the thirst she had, no one else seemed to be thinking of food or water after all, and the neko had no intention of being left behind.

"Ah!"

Suddenly the neko realised that everyone was moving and scittered after them quickly, catching up with Mere and taking a firm hold of the hem of his jacket.

"Dun leave Juunish!" she proclaimed as she trotted along keeping up with Mere's pace.

Within the recesses of the small child's mind Juunikyuu also stirred from her light slumber. She rubbed her eyes and chuckled at the young girl fondly, watching the world carefully through Juuni's eyes

"O_O! S-sorry bout that Juunish! Sometimes I forget...no matter..." He'd been about to say that sometimes when he saw her he saw something completely different then the small child, but saying such things would have led to no purpose.

The little girl was suddenly lifted a bit higher up as Henry picked her up and settled her on his back. It would be easy for her to cling to the backpack there.

He patted himself down, even though he was still walking. "I must have put a water bottle in your bag, Juuni. I'd hate to think I'd forgotten... You alright to check?"
