Dream understood. "I'll try."

He placed the rod on Liam, and closed his eyes. The Rod did some of the work for him, penetrating into the darkness and giving Dream access to it. Using his powers of light, he commanded the darkness inside Liam into himself. The darkness obliged, as Liam did not want it while Dream did... though as it was not a part of him yet, it could not see why.

As the darkness traveled through the Rod and into himself, he felt the power of it all. It was biding its time, though, waiting for all of it to enter, which it did shortly. That part was the simple part anyway. Now to get rid of it.

The darkness, now inside Dream, was able to sense what he was thinking, and obviously did not like it. It fought back in a way that Dream had not expected- it latched on to his own senses, so that every time he harmed it, he felt as if he were harming himself. Luckilly, he didn't care about harming himself to eliminate it.

Unfortunately for him, the darkness sensed that too the moment he thought it. So it took hold of his senses entirely. The last thing Dream thought was that he could not think in order to defeat it, as it was able to see every move he made. He had to rely on his own power to do so. So he submit his mind to the darkness, and allowed his healing and light magic to go to work.

His eyes opened. They were no longer blue, but a pitch-black color. In his new vision, he saw only what the darkness wanted him to see: images that would make him submit to its power. Dream attempted to ignore them, still concentrating on his power, but eventually he could resist no longer.

He saw everyone he knew. Holly, Liam, Leila, Haucon, Miu, even Violet and Remiel. They were all in pain... and it was caused by his elimination of darkness. The darkness was toying with him, it was telling him that it was a part of life, and as he destroyed it, he destroyed life.

No... they are good at heart... you cannot make me hurt them...
You already are... By harming me, you harm them...
It's not true... I won't listen...
You must listen, for you are listening to yourself... I am you now, remember that...

Friends? Ha! The darkness laughed inside him. It sounded sickening to him. What have they ever done for you?
They became my friends. I must protect them. It is my duty.
They will die as I do... As will you.
No they won't...
Yes, they WILL. When will you start listening to me?
The moment you die.
Very funny. Now allow me to take your place in this body. I can do many things you cannot.
And I can do many things you cannot as well.
Don't you want to see what I can do? You've always been the curious one.

You're starting to gain the upper hand again... I should change that.

The darkness sent a pulse through Dream intended to make him lose control completely; he collapsed on the ground, almost completely still, an expression of contempt on his face.

((Sorry that was long, hopefully it gives a good enough explination of what Dream's feeling right now.))

((Sorry i haven't posted, we were decorating the hall so our wireless box had to be unplugged and stuff lol. I have school next wednesday and i still don't have any of my stuff yet lol. Oh well tee hee,))

Violet stood suddenly, no longer caring if she were spotted. Letting out an inhuman scream she flew down to the ground. Now Liam had lost his darkness it made the plan for the demons to take over much more difficult. Emerald eyes still blazing with anger she watched as Dream struggled with the dark. If she got very lucky, Dream could take Liam's place in the plan. Flaring her wings up to protect herself from attack on her sides she watched, fasinated.

(( sorry for being gone guys! Got my wisdom teeth ou.. after 2 years of stalling and the medicaltion has messed with me pretty bad. Not to mention the winter semester is starting and I've got nothing ready together for the classes or the professors. Damn them and thier mandatory lists of stuff to do! Thank god it's an art school right? Can't be too hard. Umm wow.... SO many changes....Lemme take a second here and figure out whats going on.))

Steffen had taken a moment to feast upon the fear he sensed around him, relishing in the though that very soon this mortal plane would be annexed to hell, fully and completley. Red eyes narrowed as felt the horrid wrenching in is stomache of losing power, losing a source of darkness that he would be needing. Shifting to the shadows once more, he post poned the search for the next iteam and began to seek out those whose services he had aquired.
When Steffen's whole body began engulfed in the shadows it was almost as if he ceased to exist. He called to the beings, the demons he had already met, called to the strain of evil in them that was the easiet connection between his kind. It frustrated Steffen when he could only trace one, angered him to think that one of the connections had been severed.
" Tell me where you are my kin..." The shapeless demon hissed along the connection, seeking an answer from any one. He required information, and Steffen was not willing to wait much longer.

Leila instantly curled into fetal position, gripping her head in both hands and shutting her eyes tightly, as the pain enveloped her yet again.
Just like earlier...
She mumbled and groaned in pain, gritting her teeth to the point of causing her jaws to hurt. "Make it stop!" she finally screamed, rolling out of Haucon's lap onto her side on the pavement, shaking a bit from the strain. The thing...it was calling her again...is this pain because she was fighting it?
Should I simply surrender?
Her eyes shot open, revealing the blue glare of previous occasions. Remnants of the pain remained, but it has lessened somewhat. Leila stood up as if nothing had happened, as if she had just woken up and ready to start the new day.
"Haucon...the source...it is calling me...and I do not want to lose it..." she strained to say, as she started walking the direction of whatever it was that was calling the evil within her. Her plan was to have the others follow her in order to eliminate it, so that she would not have to suffer this pain again. It was taking all that she had left to remain sane, to not succumb to what she truly was.

The blue faded until there were mere pinpoints of light in the middle of her pupils. "The Leila you love is still here," she replied, hugging him back. However, as she did so, she cringed a bit in pain. "I want the others to follow," she whispered back, "to find whatever is doing this. You worry too much about me." A hand went up and caressed his cheek to show she was ok. "I am still in control, but the pain is unbearable. I am only submitting to lessen the pain and serve as a beacon. You understand, don't you? I will never submit myself to it fully, not if I know you are with me..."

"Of course I can. But then we wouldn't find out what's causing Violet to act this way, what's calling me in the same way. But if you do not wish me to, I will not succumb to it. Just be ready if I collapse from the pain, alright?" Leila replied with a small smile, kissed him on the cheek, and fought back the rest of the source. She doubled over instantly, stumbling sideways a bit.

"But what if the calling doesn't come again?" Leila struggled saying as she rested her head against him. "You are right, however. I have already spent enough dealing with Liam." She leaned her head a bit to see how Dream and the others were progressing with the matter. It was at that moment she saw Dream on the ground, unconscious. Did that mean he had gotten the substance out of Liam? Neither of the angels had screamed in fear, so it seemed that things must not be as bad as they looked...
She exhaled heavily before closing her eyes. "I'd probably not be here with you, Haucon," she whispered. "As weird as it may sound coming from a demon, you are indeed a blessing..."
