yeah u can make it explod but it takes more chakara to maintain the ball

Jerico smiled at him. "Alright teacher, I'll try." He focused his attention to the shards which had yet to melt. He put his hands together in the circle. The shards movements were smooth as they moved into a pile and melded against eachother, forming the ball of ice once again. Jerico smiled and picked up the ball of ice, holding it up for the teacher to see.

(Tor put one of his hands out and aloud the water to follow around it and into a sphere. His hand began to slightly shake as the sphere began to freeze. once completely frozen he tossed the sphere into the air and watched it steadily expand and explode) ( as the shards meled they steadily formed into a sphere in his hand once more.)
