Braeden shrugged. "It took me three years to be fluent, but I was smoking a lot of pot, so that's probably why. You should ask Kaegan's goldbenboy Isiah. I hear he picked it up in around six months." He rolled his eyes again. "But that's cuz Kaegan gets em yoooooooooooung, when they're still in that learning mindframe."

"That's because Isiah's only, like, uber smart." Tsurai snorted. "I don't think the Alpha would appreciate it if a non-Denzien learned the language... Right?"

Braeden shrugged. "I dunno, kid, Kaegan likes you. But if he thought you'd tell everyone else of our 'secret' " The quotation mark fingers came up again. "Dealings, he probably wouldn't. I dunno."

Tsurai was visibly interested, now. He rolled to his stomach and propped himself up by his elbows. "He likes me?" He sounded confused. "What secrets?"

Braeden lay down on his back, shaking his head back and forth. "Kid, I'm being sarcastic. About the secrets, anyway. And don't let it go to your head. I think Kaegan has a hardon for anyone who's young. Or acts young."

Tsurai hmphed, turning on his back and lying down.
"Maybe he's trying to make up for something. Maybe he could never be a father or something."

He shrugged. "I don't know him that well. That might be it. Isiah and him used to be pretty close as I understand." He paused for a moment folding his hands behind his head. "But I've only heard that from third parties. Neither of them are too keen on telling me personal secrets. Makes me miss beer."

Tsurai chuckled. "Well, I've got nothing else to do." He groaned loadly at getting up and out of Braeden's cot.
"Let's go ask Kaegan if I can learn Denzien."

Tsurai walked out of the hut, not really caring if Braeden followed. It took a moment for his green eyes to spot Kaegan, but when they finally did, black boots walked over and Tsurai gave a small smirk, waiting for his turn, so he didn't interrupt whatever the Alpha was doing.

Kaegan spied him walking over roughly ten seconds ahead of time and adjourned whatever audience he was holding to turn to Tsurai after he'd kept him waiting a grand total of half a minute. "Hello."

Braeden watched him go, and slunk up onto his cot, yawning before falling into long awaited sleep.

Tsurai watched everyone else go, his attention then turning to Kaegan.
"Umm, there's no easy way to ask, so I guess I'll just be blunt, heh."
He ran his fingers through his long hair, an age-old habit of his. "I was wondering if I could Learn Denzien? Just, maybe not enough to speak it, but enough to understand a little?"

Kaegan studied his face, trying to figure out the motive behind wanting to learn such a foreign language all the sudden. "Who put you up to this, Tsurai?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 11, 2005 7:31 pm

Tsurai put his hands in front of him in a defensive gesture, waving them slightly. "No, no, no.. If it's against some code, I didn't know. I don't have to learn or anything. It was just a question, and if I could that'd be cool, but if not, I'm fine with that, too."

Kaegan laughed. "You thought it'd be cool? A language is a commitment. I can't let you.. learn half of it. There's no such thing in denzien to 'know enough to understand' unless you're fluent." He folded his arms over his chest, his head tilted quizically. "Are you afraid we're talking about you or something?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 11, 2005 7:41 pm

Tsurai took a step back, hand going to the dogtags hidden under his shirt.
"I just... No, it's fine." He shook his head. "I don't think I could learn a whole language I'm too..." He yanked on his shirt and his tags.

"I should go, I'm sorry for bothering you.." Yet, Tsurai didn't go. He was confused as to what he should be doing; going of his own will or waiting for Kaegan to dismiss him...

Kaegan gave him a wierd look. "I'm having a hard time believing Tsurai it's just about the language." Kaegan's intuitive father instinct was telling him, though there was no real evidence, save circumstancial, that Tsurai was feeling like.. well, he was a square peg in a circle slot.
